From my experience, they lie, don’t have any knowledge or they lie, and anything to get the car off the lot. It’s a good business model, no pressure sales which is catchy but that’s how they get you. If you notice, most of the good comments so far is about the sale environment but bad comments are mostly about failures of the car. That tells you something…. 1) (Within 10 days of buying the car)Sales man told me to drive the car to the dealership, when I told them “could not see a belt in the hood” and “power steering light was on”. This advice was dangerous since, the steering wheel stopped working on the way. Basically, my brother was driving on the road and could not turn the car at all. Imagine that. 2) Lied(by manager) to my face about what should be covered under safety which I checked with OMVIC and confirmed that they lied. Imagine that: the only thing that’s set by the government that gives you a piece of mind. How can you trust these guys now? 3) The brakes stopped working (within the 3 months after I bought the car) i.e. my car had no brakes and to stop my mom had to bump the car into the curb. Apparently, from another mechanic, this should not happen unless the work done in it was bad, and coincidentally I had told the sales man to replace the brakes(and they did it) before I bought it. People involved: Salesman, Mechanic, Manager Just saying these incidents if it were to happen on the highway… Please let that sink in for a bit. I was not expecting the best car after all it was a used vehicle but all of the above, is the absolute least you expect from a dealership/mechanic.

Sales experience there was ok, nothing to rave about but not shoddy. No negotiating on price, stated the price was the price. When I went to pick up the care everything was ready but when I got in to drive away, the key would not turn in the ignition. Tried both sets and neither would turn. How can this not have been noticed when they parked the car. Went back inside and the sales guy came out and jiggled the steering wheel back and forth until it would finally turn and start the car. He said try it for the weekend and if still a problem bring it back. Problem was there non-stop. I called again and was told to take it to a dealer and they would pay for any costs BUT that they wanted to review any of the charges before it was repaired. I ended up taking it to a Hyundai dealer who had to completely replace the ignition and both keys. Later I found, after being told it was never in an accident, that all of the rear plastic bumper supports were broken and one of the liners in the front wheel well was also shattered and glued together. On top of that, after the first wash all of the scratches and a poor paint touch up were revealed. Clearly this car was in an accident of some kind prior to me getting it. If you buy from them make sure you have another garage inspect it, fully inspect the car yourself both before an offer and then again before you hand over the check and take ownership. They have a good selection and good prices but go in with open eyes. I will not buy from them again.

Where to start... bought a 2006 SUV for $7500 last summer. Went to pick it up on the day the sales manager told me to get it but said he forgot to transfer the ownership and it didn't pass the Emissions test. He gave an excuse about it failing because they installed a new battery and it need to cycle through before it could be tested. Next day it passed the Emissions test but once again they forgot to get the ownership transfered. I ended up doing it myself because they wouldn't go out again. Engine light comes on less than one month later... I toke it to their service guy, he ran the OBD said it was nothing and cleared it. One month after that incident engine went. After many days of arguing over the phone with the sales manager he decided to replace the engine with a used one at cost and half labour. Not good enough should have never happened engine should have been replace at their expense Stay away from Westend Automotive - The staff are lazy and worse of all they don't stand behind what they sell. Reason for their low prices, you get what you pay for, they purchase cars that dealerships would refuse to buy. If you have to buy a used car Spend the extra money and go to a real Car Dealership like Honda, Dodge, Kia, Ford etc. You may pay 500-1000 more but will get superior service and most likely a better car.

I bought a 2009 Nissan frontier from these guys. They are no bull kind of people or so it seemed to me. I was at the dealership enough to see that these guys handle quite a bit of volume and after reading the reviews I was a little wary but my experience has been very positive. The first thing I wanted to do was get a pre-purchase inspection. They have mechanics but they were quite fine with me taking the truck to my mechanic Dave Stoddard. I got a few error codes from Dave and the rear pinion seal was leaking but upon presenting the shop report they gladly agreed to fix everything and even replace sone small things. The safety was done and all the insuring and licensing was also done fairly quickly and I drove off very pleased with the cleanliness of the truck. I also bought the 3 year warranty covering the powertrain, a/c and gaskets and seals which was explained thoroughly by Jeff, the sales guy, while we finalized the deal. Now, with the after purchase inspection done by the same mechanic I have proof that what they said they'd fix was fixed and done right. I would recommend this dealership because they catered to my suspicious car buying style and were completely transparent about what they would and would not do.

Spend your money elsewhere. Bought a car here in January and shortly after I took it to my mechanic. They asked me who safetied it and I told them Westend. My mechanic told me there were holes in the manifold and it shouldn’t have passed the safety. They said other work had been done and it looked slapped together. Westend was condescending when I took it back in for them to fix. They also insisted I pay for the parts even though I’d had the car less than a month. They told me they’d have to source parts that could take a month to get in but they’d try to find used parts so the wait wouldn’t be so long…it’s now been over a month and I’ve never heard back from them with any updates. In the meantime I already got it fixed by my mechanic (who sourced the parts within an hour) because I lost all trust that Westend would even fix it properly. When we bought the car, the price was non-negotiable but they said they’d make up for that on the service end before we picked it up and make sure the car was in great condition. They clearly didn’t do anything. They didn’t even put in basics like car mats and I had to fill up the gas tank to make it home. I would never buy here again.

Don't often post reviews but I noticed all the negative ones (which I'm sure are warranted), so I decided I would post a decent one. Bought a used Infiniti G37 from them at the end of October 2014, pretty good price. I believe it was Joanne I was dealing with. Made an appointment with her to see the car, test drove it, and bought it that same day.They put new brakes on for me as well after the sale (with a little other work done) at no extra cost. I was wary with all these negative reviews, but I must say there has been no trouble with the car since. I just took it in for service (at Hunt Club Nissan) for the first time since I bought it (~15 months) and still no major work needed to be done. Only other things I'll mention is that they did not put a tank of gas in there for me (which might not be required but it was literally empty, I might have had 20 km left on the tank when I drove it off the lot), and that they sold it to me with mismatched winter tires (different sets for front and back) on the car (which isn't bad, but it meant I had to buy all seasons come the spring). Otherwise my experience with these guys was just fine, no complaints.

Purchased a 2008 chrysler 300 approximately 3 months ago, and when i drove it off the lot the engine light came on. I returned the car immediately for repair. Was told at that time it was a 02 sensor that had malfunctioned. They replaced it and i had the car 30 minutes and the engine light came on again. Returned the car to westend and they said they replaced the 02 sensor again. Have returned my car 5 times for the same problem and suggested they take it to a chrysler dealer for a proper diagnosis. So apparently that is what was done and was told that there was nothing wrong with the car. I took my car back, and the engine light is still on. The service person at westend said that he would follow up with a few phone calls to a few people for some assistance and has still not fixed the car. Not feeling very comfortable with the service i have received because he keeps putting me off saying he is swamped and doesn't have time. My car should be a priority, seeing as i paid for it 3 months ago. Don't trust them, don't beleive them and would never buy another vehicle from them!

Bought a Dodge SRT and when I drove it off the lot 3kms began chugging and revving then eventually the belts start screaming and it stalled out. After numerous attempts, had their service dept look at it a few times they could not find a single thing wrong. When I showed them that you can not run more than 2 electrical features at a time without it chugging, revving, scream and stalling, they shrugged their shoulders and LITERALLY told me "We don't make them, just try to sell them." So now I'm stuck with a car that I can only run two features at a time. I have my choice though - I can pick heat, head lights, stereo, AC, power windows, power sun roof, wipers, rear defrost.... But I can only pick two at a time. If I'm driving at night and have the head lights on, I have to turn off the heat to roll down my window.... and if it's night and cold AND raining - I can't even drive it. I can't use head lights, heat AND wipers. My advice? No matter how pretty or how much of a great deal - run far and away from these guys!!! (And gal!)

Steer clear of this place. Purchased a vehicle a year and a half ago and have had nothing but problems with it. Within the first few days we had to replace the motor mount. At one point the car locked us out of the ignition and we had to pay $100 for a tow $100 to find out what was wrong and a $110 to purchase a new battery (which wasn't the issue but was recommended) Sometimes the car just simply fails to start! Husband just called me with a new problem. Every month it's something different. I have been driving the same brand of vehicle (although a different model) for over 4 years and have had not one problem with it. (Other than your standard maintenance and replacements) I can't even begin to describe everything wrong with my husbands car. Makes you wonder about their safety and e-testing practices. Seriously regretting not going to the dealership where I purchased my car. Do NOT buy your vehicle from here. I think the bad reviews far outweigh the good and your money is not worth taking that chance.

We bought our last 2 vehicles from Westend Auto ( 6+ years ago and we've only had to replace normal wear and tear parts). It was an excellent experience....no pressure sales, reliable, certified vehicles, no hidden administrative fees and excellent customer service. We recommended a friend to WA a few years ago and he thanked us for the referral. He was hesitant, as his last experience buying a used auto from a used lot was not very pleasant. 3 years later he is still driving the SUV he purchased at West End. Definitely will keep purchasing vehicles from Westend Auto, in fact I will be test driving one today or tomorrow, as we are in the market for an updated model. Thanks to the staff at Westend Automotive for their honesty and integrity :) My car shopping experience was easy and affordable :)

(Foolishly) purchased THREE vehicles from here. All were stated to be in perfect condition, only to encounter problems not even 2 months after purchase. The first vehicle they failed to mention was a complete gas gusler. The second, the tires weren't alligned properly, and they were different sizes. (One size was on the right side of the car and a different size was on the left.) and now on our third vehicle from them, we've only had for a month and a half, a 2012 we were told was in perfect condition, has problems with the front axel! The entire car shakes and rumbles when you drive at any speed, and squeals when you step on the brakes. Not impressed really. Don't know why we kept coming back here, guess it was the cheapest for a reason.

Not very informative or helpful. No one reviewed the van with me or pointed out any of the features. It was not disclosed to me that there was no manual with the 2014 Dodge van. I was told to search online. Nor were there any floor mats which I discovered after I bought it and removed the paper covers which they put on the floor. After driving home to Pembroke and further examining the van I discovered a small crack on the upper left side of the windshield. It was conveniently covered by the new oil change sticker which was placed over it. They denied knowledge of the crack & refused compensation for it. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone. Be very wary if you deal with Jeff and crew at Westend Auto / Ottawa.

I went shopping at Westend knowing what kind of vehicle I wanted and had a good experience. The attractive price points lured me in. The salesman who helped me, directed me to all the vehicles I was interested in. There was no distracting sales patter. Jeff was friendly, nice and to the point. After test driving a number of cars I made the decision and was shown the driving history, offered two different, additional warranties and a number of payment options. Car was nicely detailed. I asked for an additional engine shampoo, which they gladly provided for free. I encountered no issue with this used car dealership. What they promised they delivered. I will buy more vehicles from them.

Talked with Jeff all afternoon about my time an travel of when I would be there to look at a truck. 3 hours to get there. When I drive in the yard he calls to say the truck was sold. Never even got out of my car. His excuse was that there are more than one salesmen there. You have no idea of the disappointment. I think the left hand should know what the right hand is doing. If there was another customer in the picture, I would have appreciated a call to hang tight till they seen how this deal went. I'm pretty sure I I showed first interest. I understand first come, first served, but I drove a long way on bad roads. A heads up would have been appreciated.

Similar experience as below, got a pretty good deal on a Ford Focus ztw but when I went to drive off the lot not even 2km down the road did the engine light turn back on! Went back, asked them to fix it and all they did was clear the error and it turned on again the next day. Many months later I've taken it to a shop for a tune up and it was something as simple as a spark plug. They wouldn't even fix a spark plug! The tires were put on wrong and many other things are just not working right that could easily have been fixed but West End Automotive was too lazy to do it apparently. If I were you I'd do my car shopping else where.

I have been dealing with Westendauto Motive from 1998 til now bought multiple vehicles from them dealing with pat the owner Jeff the sales manager and just recently bought another vehicle from them dealing with Laura in the sales department and always had very good professional experience dealing with them and always had my vehicles back for service in the service department dealing with mike they always looked after me and everyone I sent to them my friend s and other family members who have been dealing with them for years I wouldn’t deal with any other dealer for sales or service thank you and all the best in the new year

MY grandpa just bought me my first car from here last week, 08 Dodge Caliber SXT. The salesman (not sure his name, but he had glasses) mentioned to my grandpa that they were firm with prices, NO WIGGLE ROOM at all and taxes are 13%. So my 5995 price went up to 6800 (roughly). The vehicle went to another dealership to get some recall work on and then it was going back to Westend to get the brakes replaced. I pick it up tomorrow and I hope theres no problems with it like I've read so far! But I went in knowing what i wanted and we were in and out within like 40 minutes

If I could give this dealership a 0 star I would. They use the old bait and switch tactic, where they advertise a certain car to bring you in and once you arrive the car is completely different. We even called in before arriving to confirm the details on the advertised car. However, once we got there, the car had much more kms on it and was a completely different class and older model. Customer service was absolutely horrible and we felt racially profiled. It’s dealerships like this that gives honest legit used dealerships a bad rep.

Got a car in here. They made it looked good from the outside. The painting, detailings... everything was cleaned to hide the main problem. After driving for a month, I brought this car to change oil, surprisingly, there was no engine oil at all. Brake pads, rotors were all old. I had to bring it to GM Dealer 3 times to fix air-bag light, acceleration pedal and reload the software with cost me around 1 grand. The biggest problem when I tried to sell it was the bent propeller shaft when another dealer pointed it out.

Bought a car from here about a month ago, first off the tires on the car shouldn't have passed a safety as they are down to the nubs you use to check the life of them and the car isn't working out for me so I talked to the place I got financed through and they said they would reverse the deal if the dealer would take the car back so I called and was told they didn't do that but they would call the bank and talk to them and get back to me. Haven't heard anything since.

Shady operation here, cars are not safety properly, and when you bring to the attention of the shop they deny it. When the garage that fixes the vehicle knows that this is common practice from Westend Automotive i have to shake my head... When they finally agree that they are responsible they offer to have the vehicle fixed but on the condition that reviews are removed and never to discuss it again...... so Buyer Beware... it would be no stars if i could

Got my truck from here . Engine light came on a few days later "they fixed it " came on abunch more times non stop . Then the car was smoking it had a over heating problem . Machanic at West End didn't believe me so I video taped it . They said they would fix it but I had to pay full price . Brought it to another place they said I have to replace the transmission . I still have the truck to this day it's still messed up paying 550$ a month in payments .

Hate car shopping. But Westend made my recent purchase a snap. Knew what I wanted, found it online through Auto Trader in 5 minutes of search, spoke with Jeff by phone for 10 minutes, saw the car for another 15 minutes, paperwork for 20 minutes, took it to my mechanic for review, 45 minutes. Done. Jeff got the Quebec safety and registration done in two days (during Covid!) and off I drove. No complaints. It's the way I like to buy a car. Thanks Jeff.

This company has horrible ethics. They will safety a car that shouldn’t be safetied. Many people have mentioned how horrible this company is. This is clearly a family business that doesn’t care about their customers rather about the money they can scam from people. They remove reviews by people who are clearly upset and speaking the truth of how horrible this company is. Avoid this company at all costs. This company will completely screw you over.

Don’t make the mistake of thinking a safetied car from them is road safe. Bought my car a month ago and it turns out my whole break fluid system was rotted out, from the hose to the lines to the master cylinder. Going to be potentially a job costing a few thousand. They may have a few cars at a few decent prices, but I highly recommend to seek other people and places. Coming from sales a service based industry, they really do lack both.

This was the first time I visited Westend Auto on my search fro a good used dependable car- not too expensive - for my daughter. To be honest I was expecting to have to fend off a high pressure salesman. I was greeted by Jeff - I think he was the manager - and was pleasently surprised. No pressure just information about the cars we looked at. All in all a pleaseant experience. I can honestly recomend this company.

Matt did such an amazing job cleaning my car, it really needed some TLC, he was so wonderful and kind ! Salt stains were removed, from over our long winter and it smelt so fresh and clean!, my car looked like I drove it fresh off the lot!, I would definitely recommend service by this kind young man! Very poor vehicle quality. They seem to buy high mileage, junk type cars and trucks and fix them up to sell. I bought an Ford Edge in 2010 and a truck in 2017 and the Edge hit the scrap yard after pourings tons of money into it over the years and the truck needed a $12,000 engine replacement 37 days after I purchased it.

Bought a car there last November. Yesterday i got a flat tire. There was no jack, tire iron or spare tire included with the van. Who would remove these things? Shouldn't a dealer make sure all items are there before selling? Poor.
