I recently moved to the Bay Area and was looking to furnish my apartment. I was having a difficult time doing so because this was my first time furnishing an apartment and online vendors/big chain stores aren't super attentive/informative and they don't provide good quality assurance, if any. So I decided to use google maps to look at local stores. That's when I came across What A Room. My experience at What A Room has been phenomenal! The customer service is top tier, the representatives are friendly and super helpful! They work with you to help you find the furniture you're looking for as well as provide you with advice and suggestions when you need them. What was even more surprising was how friendly and understanding they were when there was an issue with an order (I received the wrong item due to a communication error). I expected to be shirked or penalized for the inconvenience, but they were respectful and cooperative in understanding the error and fixing the issue immediately! Shout out to Duy and Quynh for all their hard work and impeccable service! In regards to the furniture itself, I have been very satisfied with everything I've purchased. They offer a wide range of products from various catalogs and they also have some show rooms to help you get a feel for things. In regards to prices, the prices range from a few hundred to a few thousand depending on the item and its quality. I purchased items at various price points, and I never felt like I was overpaying for anything. I payed more for super nice quality items and less for cost efficient functional items. Lastly, they specialize in couches, and I mean it! From fabric to cushions to arm height, nearly every facet of my sectional was customizable! You can't go wrong by getting your couch at What A Room. If I ever need to furnish a place again, I won't hesitate returning to What A Room, and I definitely recommended it to anyone looking to furnish their place.
While shopping for gizmos and gadgets at Fry's for our new home, we noticed a furniture store on Google Maps that was right across from us and decided to check it out. For large purchases, I'm fairly selective when deciding who I'll do business with and primarily consider customer service/experience, product quality, and then cost, because I've gone through a fair share of wasted time on post-purchase hassles from sleezy sales folks just for a good deal. I'll also never buy on my first trip, and will visit a place multiple times so I know my money is going to the right choice. This is the place. While making repeat visits at any store, too often do business owners/salesman not remember our names, let alone, prior dialogue of what we were shopping for. I was impressed enough on my first visit that I decided to come back, and became even more impressed when, as soon as I walked in, Steven greeted me by name and even remembered the tiniest details from my first visit. He's real easygoing and patient, and most importantly, didn't give off that "sleezy salesman" vibe. Took up about 30 more mins of his time talking delivery and warranty details, then made the call. To save time, I asked him to write it all up while I picked up my wife, then came back within the hour to finalize our purchase. I did the legwork and homework, so hope this saves you some time from shopping around. This place is at least worth your visit, and in my case, was happy to buy from here.
Ive purchased multiple times from this store. Everything was fine until the point that i ordered a living room set from this store. During this encounter I spoke with STEVEN on numerous occasions and provided him with the proper measurements of my home. He pretended to be a rep when it turns out that he is owner. Going back and forth before ultimately deciding and assuring me that this would fit and for future delivery. Delivery and shipping was delayed multiple times. 30 days later When the actual day for delivery came, the set wouldn’t fit. I contacted steven to ask what resolution we could take going forward. According to STEVEN , there would be a 50% restocking fee because he was very sneaky about including a clause in the receipt he makes everyone sign when buying, and would not take ownership of his mistake when assuring me that this would fit in my home. I provided measurements and photos many times and i was assured by him that this would fit. STEVEN the owner as it turns out would not do anything for me and the tone quickly turned nasty on his part. At this point nothing has been done to correct the situation or offer any sort of customer support even after sharing my negative experience, And as a result i have been stuck with a large piece of expensive furniture. Please be careful when buying from this store.
I recently had the pleasure of shopping at What a Room and I have to say, I was thoroughly impressed with the experience from start to finish. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by friendly and knowledgeable staff who were eager to assist me with any questions I had. The selection of furniture was truly impressive, with a wide variety of styles, colors, and materials to choose from. I was in the market for a new couch and I was able to find exactly what I was looking for. One thing that really stood out to me about this store was the quality of their products. The couch was well-crafted, sturdy, and built to last. I never felt like I was sacrificing quality for style, which is something that can be hard to find these days. In addition to their excellent selection and quality products, the prices at What a Room were also very reasonable. I felt like I was getting a great value for my money, and I never felt like I was being overcharged or taken advantage of. Overall, I would highly recommend them to anyone in the market for new couch. The staff is friendly and helpful, the selection is top-notch, the quality is excellent, and the prices are reasonable. I will definitely be returning in the future for all of my furniture needs.
I would like to personally thank Dan at What A Room for helping me furnish my new place. I recently had to encounter the unfortunate circumstance of buying all new furniture to fit a much smaller place, whereas my current furniture were too big and a bit out of date in color tones. I did quite a bit of research in what I was looking for before going to Dan. So I thought I knew what I wanted and was ready to just place my order. However, upon meeting up with Dan and reviewing my items, he assisted in making suggestions on how I can spruce up the place to make it more up to date and also be able to utilize the space I have. He also recommended a custom sectional to make the area more comfortable for hosting and space saving compared to having a standard 3-seater sofa and a chair. He was very patient and professional. There was a lot of items to look at based on all the vendors they have, but Dan knew everything and had made the process much easier. I would also like thank the delivery team for the delivery and set up. They were quick and proficient. As well as helpful in taking my other empty boxes that were laying around to dump. I would highly recommend going to Dan at What A Room if you're ever looking for furniture update.
I recently bought a couch from What A Room because I could not find a couch that was the right style, material and color. I searched for a furniture store and found What A Room. Long story short: I had a great experience with What A Room and I would recommend working with them. What happened with my order: I found a couch style I liked. I picked the fabric and color that I liked. I altered the seat depth of the couch. About 3 weeks later, my custom couch was delivered to my house. I made a mistake with measuring my place and the couch could not fit up the stairs. Duy and the team at What A Room helped me out and they made the couch into two sectional pieces that lock together. Another week and a half later, my couch came. My initial impression: When I walked into the showroom, there were samples of the styles of couches that can be customized. I also saw other furniture pieces. Duy, one of the associates, asked if I needed help and I told him I was just looking around. I did not feel pressured while I was in the showroom and left after about 10 minutes of looking. Coming back to the store: I came back a week after and configured my custom couch. The process was easy. I paid half of the cost of the couch as a deposit.
Recently got a customized bed frame and mattress from here. I shopped around, checking out other furniture and mattress stores, but ended up getting both here cuz it was just the best value out of all the stores I checked out. Not only is the price very reasonable, but the quality is also top-notch...gone are the college days of taking furniture off the street, especially if you're ready to buy a bed that you wanna continue using for the next couple decades, if not longer. The workers here are very knowledgeable, and since there are so many options to choose from, someone was able to guide me through the process of picking out the materials for the bed frame and figure out what I wanted. Got the king-size bed frame and mattress pretty quickly, and am now very happy with both. I feel like if I had kids, they could use the bed as a wrestling ring considering how sturdy it all is. The delivery guys also set everything up well (I've had movers in the past put together my bed frame really cursorily and I had to re-tighten everything), so glad with how they handled that as well. Based on this experience, I definitely plan on buying other furniture I need from What A Room, such as a dining table, nightstand, etc.
We bought a leather Power recliner from this store. But it’s fully wrinkled and looks like an old one..! Daniel helped us getting another piece but the second one also looked the same and they simply said they can’t do anything about it as the creases are normal for leather couches. It might be true if the couch ages but it’s a brand new one and everyone i knew said the same thing. We even asked them to take this back and let us choose a fabric couch but they denied and said we have to live with it. I’m highly disappointed with the couch and it’s quality and would definitely not recommend to anyone. I paid a lot of money just to get a couch that looks so old and bad…! The one in their store looks amazing and we thought ours would look like it but it’s no where close. This is the first time in US where I had a really bad customer experience and am extremely disappointed. I wouldn’t have written this review but I just felt it was unfair to us, after paying money and getting a couch that looks so bad…! All the reviews here mention how great customer service this store has and that’s the reason I bought from them instead of some branded store. I regret my decision…!
Two things really stand out for me here: the degree of customization, and the fact they're actually delivering on time in 2021. (The latter has an obvious reason: massive shipping delays from China push anything into backorder unless it's made here, which separates What A Room from the chain stores.) Before finding them, I'd ordered a custom sectional from West Elm. They told me it would take 10-16 weeks to arrive (which is frustrating enough on its own). 9 weeks later, they called and told me it was cancelled because they ran out of the fabric. That's when I went searching for a better place and found What A Room. What they do, when it comes to customization, is amazing. You can just go "I'd like *these* legs, *that* cushion material, *those* arms, *this* seat depth, and *that* fabric", and the answer is always "yes". No need for tradeoffs. My custom piece cost two-thirds of what the original West Elm piece cost, and I like it better. And the kicker? They gave me a time frame of 4-6 weeks for my custom order, and because of lumber delays, they did miss it... by a few days. I'll take that. Sitting happily on my new sectional now!
Very glad I stumbled into What A Room! when I was on the hunt for new furniture for both my new house and my parents' house. Dan and Steve were incredibly impactful in helping us narrow our options based on the hundreds of photos we showed them of everything we needed. With items that they knew they didn't have in stock, they let us know other stores to get them for a bargain. Perhaps the most coolest twist with this furniture store is their ability to do custom renderings of your living space so that you can see exactly how pieces of furniture look in each room (and if some furniture may be too big/small for a room - super helpful). The wifey and I still have a couple rooms to furnish in the house and we'll definitely be coming back as the furniture we've purchased have held up incredibly well. Loving the fully customized couch (down to material feel, firmness of cushion, and individual cushion sizes!), real walnut dining table, comfortable yet modern-styled chairs, king sized bed frame set that matches nightstands and dresser, and super comfortable (but supportive) mattress that we all got through What-A-Room!
I had a hard time finding a king-sized bed frame that both my husband and I would like. So we came to What a Room since they also offered custom options. Steven was very helpful in providing us with different bed frame suggestions. He was always quick to respond to my many questions via email and provided a lot of valuable insight. When we decided to go fully custom on our bed frame, he was very attentive to all the details and always kept us in the loop throughout the process. Despite COVID, we received our bed actually sooner than expected. The delivery was smooth and quick, and they set up the bed frame for us quite nicely. And as a result, we are so happy with our new bed! We ended up getting our mattress here as well. Not to mention, the price was very reasonable for both the bed frame and mattress. I highly recommend doing your furnishing purchases at What a Room. They offer great customer service and carry a pretty wide variety of designs. So whether you like the Crate and Barrel, West Elm, Pottery Barn styles, etc, you can also find them here and at a more reasonable price.
Avoid this place at ALL costs. I’ve had my furniture for a little over 6 months and the quality just flat out sucks. I’ve literally have had tons of people tell me my sectional is the most uncomfortable sectional they have ever sat on. Not to mention the locks that is supposed to keep the sectional together have come undone now 4X. BTW I Paid over $2000k for this sectional (not a cheap sectional by any means). Also the kitchen table I purchased as well the bench now has broke 2X. The worst part of all is the communication from Daniel and his team is by the worst I have ever encountered. I am the one who always has to call multiple times and chase them down to find out what is going on. Returned calls? ha don’t expect them too. The only time they ever call you back is when they want you to remove the review off yelp or google. It saddens me that they are still in business ripping people off. I just want my money back!!! I will be filling a complaint with the BBB to try and get my money back. Please if you know what’s good for you shop and take your business somewhere else!!!!!
I happened to be in the market for a new sofa for the last month as my previous one was old and worn. It was time to update my living room, so I decided to stop by a few furniture stores to see what was in vogue. Luckily, What A Room was the second place on my list and they blew me away, so I went ahead and bought a custom sectional from them. Let me be very clear, the quality of the sectional was already worthy of 5 stars, but the customer service would have gotten me to write a 5 star review alone. I was greeted and taken care of by the owner Dan. Like I said, I was trying to do my due diligence by checking out different furniture stores. When I walked into What A Room, I felt like a valued customer. I gave Dan the dimensions of my room with the size of the sectional I wanted and he was very quick to find a solution that fulfilled my requests. He showed me a sofa with the right feel and fabric with the right color and I couldn't resist going with them. The delivery and setup was flawless and my living room looks amazing now. Thanks Dan!
Wow. This is literally the only word that could come out of my mouth. I came into What A Room not really knowing what to expect. Now that everything is installed I am in disbelief at how astonishing it came out to be. I was helped by a gentlemen named Dan. The man is a furniture GURU! He helped me design a custom sectional couch. Dan showed me how to measure my living my room and even offered to do it himself. After the measurements were made, we showed him a couple pictures of the room and he went to work. He designed a couch that would perfectly fit into my strangely shaped room. He chose the best color scheme to match my floors and walls. He even chose out this amazing rug to match with the setup. Everything came in today and my girlfriend and I could not be any happier. The house was so empty when we moved it, but thanks to Dan and What A Room, it finally feels like home. 5 Stars for quality customer service and amazing quality products!! Thanks What A Room!
What I like about What A Room is that the experience similar to having a personal stylist that is an expert in their craft and will be straight forward with you if something does not look good and will provide feedback and offer a solution. I appreciate that! It's a big store, but everything is neatly positioned so you don't get sensory overload. What stands out to me the most is that the sofas on display had these fabric cards which I later learned were just one of the things that you can customize when looking to purchase a sofa. I did not know it was possible to customize sofas! From color, fabric, firmness... them seem to have it all. Pros: Customized sofas, attentive sales rep to answer all your questions, wide selection of inventory (locally sourced and imported goods) to choose from, and stellar customer service. Cons: none. I didn't end up buying anything at my first visit, but will definitely be back when I'm ready to make my purchase.
My wife and I were looking for an affordable Mid-Century Modern Sectional Sofa. Tall ask these days. No retailers around us had anything that we wanted. Anything that came close was very expensive and the lead times were ridiculous. We were a little weary about buying a couch without actually seeing/sitting on it, but we ended up getting exactly what we wanted at a very good price. Solid craftsmanship and attention to detail. I still can't believe we were able to get a completely custom sectional for what we paid and the timeline we got it in. My contact at What A Room was great at answering all of my questions AND doing it in a timely manner. He was also great at helping us find the fabric we wanted...and when we found out that that fabric was no longer available, he helped us source another one that we like even more. I would highly recommend using them, even if you're out of state, 2,200 miles away from the showroom.
Dan made the process of furnishing our apartment so easy for my Wife and I. He was very attentive and showed us around the showroom providing tons of details on all the items that caught our eye. I appreciated the fact that whatever he did not have in the store he quickly located in various furniture catalogs. We eventually purchased a super cozy chair (which he gave us a great deal on) and I was able to bring it home the same day. My wife really wanted a bar cart and Dan was able to find one for us, order it and had his guys deliver it within a week. Not to mention they put it together for us! I would definitely recommend What a Room if you are looking for great furnishings and especially if you want something unique and special. Also almost everything in his shop is customizeable! You can adjust the length, size, layout, etc to fit your space perfectly. Will shop again in the future ! Best, Q.
What a Room helped us get a new sectional for our living room. We were re-organizing a lot of furniture so the change of design from our existing 3-seater couch was significant. Daniel came home and helped us think through the design, usability, future needs etc to craft a design that would go with our aesthetic and work functionally for us. After that initial home visit he helped us in-store with selecting fabrics, weighing pros/cons of different design options to help us work through the confusion and ensure we only selected what really appealed to us. The order process once we figured out the design was pretty smooth, and delivery came in ahead of their estimated time! (Took less than a month IIRC). The quality of the sectional is top notch and the white glove installation process was smooth as well. We are really enjoying the look and feel of our new sectional!
Daniel and Olivia were fantastic. Right from the beginning after walking in and meeting Olivia we knew we wanted to buy from them. We had gone to a number of different furniture warehouse stores and even found a table and chair set that we liked, but we couldn't buy from them because we didn't trust the store based on bad reviews and the feeling we got from the sales people. With Daniel and Olivia we felt we could trust them. It seemed like they genuinely wanted us to be happy and get a great deal. In the end we did get a great deal significantly below the furniture warehouse price, our table and chair set were delivered on time, and we got to work with people we enjoy and trust. Couldn't be happier! We'll be back to What a Room next time we need furniture.
Horrible experience! My husband and I bought a bedroom set from Daniel and it was supposed to be delivered to us on a specific date. Few days after the purchase he told us that the set won't be delivered on time and would be delayed two more weeks. Since we weren't to get the set on the date we needed it, we asked him to refund our $1600 back. He said ok but obviously didn't have intentions to refund our money. Daniel was acting up for almost two weeks. He stopped picking up our calls and our messages were ignored. Then he finally picked up and said that he refunded the money and it's in process. One week later we called him again because we didn't get the money, then he said he will write a check. Horrible experience full of lies! Never going there again!
My husband and I had gone to a number of furniture stores without finding a couch we could agree on until we found this place (thanks to other folks' great reviews!). Steven was super helpful in walking us through finding a look, feel and shape of a couch that we could really get excited about. Unlike most stores, where you feel like you're being sold something you may not want, the folks here take care to think through all the options and considerations that you might have (and that we may not realize you should have). I'll update once we get it delivered, but we were very happy w our productive visit, and are excited to get our new couch.
I've never shopped for furniture before so I was overwhelmed with all the different aspects you can customize on a couch. Dan helped me through the entire process and made it a lot easier than expected. I showed him pictures of the couches I liked at West Elm and we were able to create a couch that looked just like the one I saw but at a much affordable price. I was very impressed by how knowledgeable he is about the fabrics, colors, and more. I just told him what I wanted (pet-friendly, easy to clean, won't fade, and etc.) and he helped me pick out everything that fit my needs. Extra bonus is that there's lifetime warranty on the couches.
We got this wonderful sofa and so happy about it!!! People in the store are very nice and helpful! Daniel helped us shopping the sofa in different types. He's very honest in different kinds of sofa's cons and pros. Sofa's quality and price are both amazing! And you can also do customize at this store so that the sofa fits perfectly in our room. Btw, the delivery process is also super smooth and friendly. We were on a vacation when the delivery guy tried to reach out to us for the first couple of times. But they are very patient and friendly, and smoothly helped us set up the sofa in our living room. I'm so happy that I made this choice!
I had an amazing experience at What a Room while shopping for a couch. Duy was incredibly patient, attentive, and helpful. He listened to my needs, answered all my questions, and guided me towards the perfect couch for my new apartment. What a Room offers a wide variety of furniture options, including customization. The couch I chose is not only stylish but also extremely comfortable. I highly recommend What a Room for their exceptional customer service, extensive selection, and customizable options. Thank you, Duy, and the entire What a Room team, for an outstanding experience!
we had waited 6 months for a couch that we purchased and the company went out of business (Interior Define). What A Room was the exact opposite experience. It took a while to get some color samples delivered, but once we had the color picked, Duy helped us customize the couch to our exact needs. Dimensions, color, cushion firmness (his and hers sections), seat depth, seat height, all were exactly what we asked for. The price was exactly as Duy said, and it even came in a little earlier than expected. I couldn't be happier with our purchase.
When we walked into the store today we were not expecting much. Furniture stores and Labor Day sales are everywhere in the Bay Area and after being in 6 other stores today we were sure we would be disappointed. But not to fear, the staff was super friendly without being pushy and were happy to answer questions when we were ready and show us lots of similar items in the large catalog selection. When we decided on a floor model, they even helped fix the couple of small issues it had. I would give them a 6 star review if I could.
The bed I purchased here had a slat broken. I contacted the customer service multiple times, sending in photos, order details and they said they were going to check if they could find one. Then no response since. My follow-ups were ignored. Updated. They called and were willing to fix what they did wrong. Although the manufacturer didn't have the original slat, the store was able to get a matching slat eventually. I got the right slat on the eve before my tenant moved in. So I'm happy it worked out eventually.
I love that I was able to customize this sofa. I wanted our sofa at a specific height so I can put my arms on the back. The delivery crew were really polite and nice. They even built the bed and the nightstand for me free of charge. But of course, I tipped them. I’m happy with the order. They are busy when you go to their showroom, go online or sit and check the catalog. Be patient as it is worth just ordering from them. We have 3 more rooms to furnish and we’re just gonna order from them.
Want to give a shoutout to the team (Duy + Dan) for an overall really good furniture buying experience. The purchase itself wasn't the smoothest due to some damages to the furniture (will personally avoid the VIG brand in the future), but the team was extremely responsive in addressing the issue and arranging for redeliveries, and was able to reach a very reasonable resolution in the end. An example of good customer service making up for the hiccup in the purchase itself.
Steven was a huge help to my wife and I looking for a new couch. His store was busy, but he still spent the time showing us every detail of couches that would fit our home. He went over the colors, fabrics, sizes, firmness, styles and even did a 3D rendering of what the couch would look like in our new home. He kept us updated every step of the way and even followed up with us after delivery! We will definitely be going back here for other home furnishing needs!
My wife and I were looking for a sectional sofas, we visited many stores in Bay until we found what a room where we have been working with Steve. He worked with us through choosing fabrics, and gave us good recommendations. He helped us with our decision since there are many nice furniture in the show room, and it is hard to make decision. Overall, we are very happy with the customer service at what a room, every one was so friendly and helpful, thank you Steve!
As a Real Estate Investor, I purchase many homes that needs furnitures. What A Room has provided me great services when it comes to designing and customizing different types of furnitures that fit different projects. I like the fact that if you like a certain style of couch that doesn't come in a size that fits your needs, they'll be able to adjust that for you and a fair price. I've had many compliments from my clients . Thank you What A Room. You guys Rock!!
I like the idea of this place. They have enough of a selection and if you want a couch you can pick a fabric and they will make it to your dimensions and style in about two weeks. Prices include delivery and the pieces we selected are made in California. We found what we wanted quickly and got it ordered. There was some drama with the after order service and they could do a better job with follow up calls but everything eventually came as promised.
Incredible personalized shopping experience.... helped me design guest room with bed, side tables, and dresser. Amazing quality for price. Kind patient and accommodating. Will continue to be a repeat customer. Family owned. They will work with you, comb through books of endless possibilities and help you design the perfect space. Photos included of bedroom furniture and my amazing orange leather chairs that create the perfect look in my kitchen.
Found this place on yelp. Pretty welcoming enviroment. A great aspect is that there are a lot of floor models so that you may be able to touch and feel a lot of the furniture. Great place for children and a great model store. One thing that stands out is how quick and great their customer service was. Noone felt sales-y and they were not pushing product on me. If I had a question I would just get their attention and they would answer quickly.
I was beyond impressed working with Steven and Duy as I did so much research on a COMFORTABLE sectional (I have back and neck pain) within my budget and I was hitting a wall. Now thanks to What a Room, I have a fully customized dream couch at least 5K a fraction of the price from the upscale chain furniture places…I’m looking at you Pottery Barn or Crate & Barrel. From ordering, designing, delivery, to purchase, it’s been so smooth and easy.
The furniture is beautiful and quality. Not cheap, but its not going to break your wallet like some of the other bigger branded stores. Their selection is what makes me really say "wow" they have all types of sofas, tables and counter cabinets. Excellent customer service. Top notch. Purchased a bedframe two years ago, and its still perfect like the day they brought it to my home and installed it for me. Primo! Highly recommend.
We are fortunate to have two What a room pieces that have held up beautifully! Our sectional has been a consistent conversation piece in our living room! I really appreciate and have been impressed with their post purchase customer service! They have been reasonable and very responsive. I love supporting local small business who are committed to quality! Thank you for your attention and for providing great customer service!
Recently moved to the Bay Area, and wanted to find a great couch to fit my awkwardly arranged floor plan. The designers at What a Room helped me maximize my space and designed a really great couch, at a great value. Delivery took a bit longer than quoted, but still received the couch in a reasonable time considering delays due to Covid and general industry supply shortages. Couldn't be happier with the final product!
My wife and I have been looking for sectionals for a few months now. We are so pleased to have found this gem of a store! The product choices and the customization of color/fabric/style/firmness is just phenomenal. Grateful to Steven for the guidance throughout the process as we were torn between three different choices. Very excited to see our customized sectional! Highly recommend What A Room.
What a room is my favorite furniture store! Not only I come there for inspiration and latest trends. They also amazed me with the custom order of bed that I received few months ago. This is literally the best bed I ever had and I ever have seen anywhere. It's perfect, very high quality and so stylish. They took into account all my requirements and even did better than I could imagine.
I came in looking for a sofa and ended up coming out with a really nice customized one. The store looks really modern and the layout is very welcoming. The process was super easy and futuristic (never knew you could customize a couch!). The quality is great and the recommendations made by the salesmen were spot on. I got my delivery in two weeks and drivers were professional and nice.
Great service, attention and options. We purchased 3 beds and mattresses from this store and we’re very satisfied with the products. Steven and Daniel were very helpful, giving recommendation and helping us narrow down the type of mattress that worked best with the beds we chose. I highly recommend this store, much better option than bigger furniture stores with expensive price tags.
What a lovely place selling furniture to suit one's pocket. The presentation was great, and the staff was very helpful. A majority of the item we were looking for were not on the display and it took a fair amount of time for the staff to find us the prices of those. Apart from that, it was pretty good experience, albeit not the cheapest option in the South Bay.
Shopping for a sofa can be rather stressful and overwhelming. From the moment my family and I walked in, Steven was extremely helpful and made the process so easy! He was able to answer all questions and was very patient. The quality was amazing and pricing was extremely reasonable. Would highly recommend! Love the product!
"Daniel" is the man. Outstanding customer service from purchasing to delivery. I went to so many furniture stores, but no one care what you want buy. But Daniel makes you buy the right thing in your budget. Delivery time, assembly everything was perfect. Highly recommend this shop for all your furniture needs.
They showed a picture of an entire kitchen set, table, and 4 chairs so I assumed that was what I was paying for but nope a single chair was all I had paid for and the shipping was as so delayed I only found out because of their message on the delivery being delayed. .. What a Room should be called what a joke
Good customer services, nice variety and modern designs, plus you can choose from catalogs too. Open seven day at 11 to 7pm most of the days. I will come back to buy a loveseat and few more items. Prices are very reasonable an goog quality A lot of the forniture are local made. That it is a plus.
Their website promises great things, but there showroom just does not deliver. It is tiny and without much in it. They do claim to offer design services, but I think you'd have to pick all of your stuff out of their website/catalog. Not for me, I need to sit on my new couch before I buy it!
My wife and I love this place. They have very good quality and stylish furniture at very a reasonable price. Their staff will definitely help you find what you're looking for. We've been their customer for past 3 years and have been very satisfied with their products and services.

Steven and Dan are great! They are super friendly and straight forward. My wife and I really like this place because they are the price are very reasonable and they carry a large selection of modern styles. I would highly recommend checking this place out!
I bought a sectional sofa for my mom at this store and it takes less then 3 weeks to arrive (i expect it to be a month because i add many adjustment and change complex material to it). They made no hassle to it and deliver earlier than on time. Love it!
We really liked the experience in What a room and we will definitely come back. We bought sofa and ottoman, made exactly based on our wishes. The expected delivery was 3-4 weeks and it was 4 weeks to the day, which in COVID situation is really fast.
I was searching for a furniture store near me here in San Jose & luckily stumbled upon WhatARoom. They have a great selection of custom sofas & their staff helped with giving me ideas about furnishing my living room. Very professional service!
Steven and Quynh helped us a lot in furnishing our home. They have a great collection and guides you the right furniture that would suit your decor. Strongly recommend this place for a new sofa or furnishing..
We bought a couch and were given a delivery time of 6-8 weeks it was delivered early and it looks amazing! Our couch is comfortable and exactly what we ordered! I would definitely buy from whataroom again
This store is legit. The sales staff here is not pushy at all. They are very knowledgable about all products I asked about. Unlike 'living spaces' 10 miles north, they don't know anything there.
Good place for customization of sofa and quality of product is good. Customer service could be better though but the product sells so I guess there is only so much one should expect
Walked in for a custom couch, ended up walking out with two paintings. You can tell right away the designer really has a unique eye for design. Urban, hip, feel. Will be back.
Got a sectional couch from here. Good quality for a good price, and overall smooth process from shopping to delivery. Wide variety of furniture and designs to choose from.
This place is awesome! Beautiful showroom with lots of selection and affordable prices. I got a great deal on my sectional and it still is in great shape after a year!
I told Steve to make me a living room, he charged me in advance and He did not design it as I asked for it and now he does not give me a guarantee for his work.
I have had a good experience with whataroom. I ordered a couch and inadvertently got the wrong cushion. steven was helpful enough to get the cushion replaced.
I didn't find what I was looking for but Daniel, the owner, is very knowledgeable and helpful. Tell him what you want and I'm sure he will deliver.
Great shop with a huge selection of furniture. I especially like the modern collections. Great service. Ask for Dan. Got my couch on time too.
Purchased a sofa a week ago. Love it so much. Duy was a very nice guy, he gave me a great service. I will definitely come back again!
Best furniture store I've been to in San Jose. Awesome customer service. Very friendly when I walked in. Ask for Daniel or Steven
Great customer service and great selection! Plenty of parking and the sales people do not hound you to make a sale.
Fantastic service and great furniture store in San Jose. I really like how you can choose any size for your sofa.
Very helpful & knowledgeable staff. Many nice pieces of furniture in their showroom. Prices were reasonable too!
