"Sadly with their new same-day only appointment policy it is impossible to get in with my Dr"
I've been a patient with Willow family health since I've been a child (when located on University Ave.)and had always had quite a good experience. New policy of same day appointments kind of defeats the purpose of having a family physician, however, and makes it incredibly difficult to get an appointment, especially for someone who has memory problems. Somehow my dentist is capable of making appointments, having people tend to hygiene, perform rudimentary inspections and have the dentist check in during each appointment (altima dental at the Kingston center) - this is perhaps due to them being specialists in one field and not diagnosticians. Additionally, while I am certain that the receptionists are under a great deal of stress and dealing with frustration, they, too, have become quite rude. The one I spoke to today lashed out at me while trying to ask a question and instead (while stuttering) raised her voice, stating, "Will you let me finish?!" while I was in the middle of my sentence. Edit: After some reflection, I realize that I shouldn't let one (well, two.. maybe three) poor experiences over the many years turn into a review bomb. It was a very poor experience, but I am very thankful for my current physician and, in the past, have only really had positive experiences with the reception staff. Edit to edit: Finally, managed to see my GP. Informed her of my experience and what had happened to us. They grabbed their temples, shook their head, and apologized. Said they would speak to the staff regarding me (and hopefully other patients). The physician said that they are trying to address the issue, I am unsure of what this entitles, but I trust them. And it is my sincere hope that this practice will better itself and rise above circumstances; having spoken to others around my neighborhood, this appears to be a common 'issue/ complaint'. I fear for the road our health care system in Ontario is going... but I have faith.. hope.. that my physician will combat and address my and others' concerns. Promoted from 1 to 3 to 4 stars after consideration, reflection and conversation. We wish you all the best during our healthcare struggles.
I currently have a complaint in place with CPSO involving the practices, neglect of persons in medical distress that is under their care, and wrongful expulsion of client. Dr. Alysson Biederman and Staff at Willow Family Physicians. (Fully documented and backed by Local Pharmacy /Pharmacist & Assistants, Perth General Hospital, MCSC) After calmly giving a full explanation of my situation of being off my medication for 2 days and urgently need to see my family physician. Was told to book next available appointment with Dr. Biedermann was 3 weeks away and brushed off all medical concerns i had of quitting my psychotropic medications for 3 weeks until my appointment. After feeling ridiculed and belittled...I gave them a well deserved F**K Y**!!! I was left no choice but to go to emergency at the hospital. Doctors and staff commended me on what had occurred and fully back me on the facts that suddenly stopping these medications could be detrimental and cause serious problems. There are no reputable physicians at Maple Family Healthcare. They come with the most minimal amount of education and training in Canada. These are not Medical Doctors, they are roughly 6 bottom of the barrel General Practioners that cram eachother into a Rooming House and call it a Medical Offfice. Jesse .D. Harvey
I have been a patient with Willow Family Health for a long time. I have had mixed experiences, mostly in the past. I was misdiagnosed for many years and on medication that was ineffective for my condition. I won’t get into the frustrating details. Currently, I’m having a hard time getting used to the new system of appointment making and such. On the positive side and the reason for three stars instead of two or one: It seems like improvements are in the works. The reception stuff have always been kind, helpful, courteous, compassionate, professional, and patient. I appreciate my current doctor(s). The physicians, nurse practitioners, and nurses at Willow Family Health are caring, kind, helpful, knowledgeable, and willing to give me the resources I need, so I can improve my health.
Amazing doctors! Always helpful and friendly and on top of things. Dr. Alyson Biedermann is the best doctor I have ever had and I have alot of health issues and see alot of doctors! She is very kind and always has the answer and will go above and beyond to get a proper diagnosis. She is amazing with my children 2 of which are ADHD she has even called on the holiday monday to give me results to tests done through the walk in clinic and I never feel judged or looked down on no matter the concern! The new office is awesome clean and the rooms are bigger than the old office! The fact the have their own after hours clinic for only their patients is also awesome!
Sadly with their new same-day only appointment policy it is impossible to get in with my Dr. It has literally taken months. You have to call as soon as they open and pray you get through to a receptionist which 99% of the time you don't. Usually by the time you do all appointments for that day are taken. Horrible policy. Most people work and don’t have time to keep calling every morning hoping for an appointment. Very very frustrating. It’s too bad because I always liked my Dr. and the reception staff were always great. Poor decisions by management have ruined this practice. Do NOT recommend.
I have been a patient of this office for many years and like my Dr very much but changing to a same day only appointment is ridiculous because you can't get through and when you finally do all appointments are taken ans you have to try again the next day. If your busy with kids and work like me you just don't have time everyday to call or you when you do it's into the day and forget it everything's gone. They need to go back to the way things were before covid because I didn't mind waiting a couple weeks for an appointment because at least I had one I could book time off work for.
I’ve been a patient with the Willow team for 30 plus years and I’ve never once encountered any issues with the service or professionalism from the staff, nurse practitioners and the various physicians. Dr. O’Donnell has served myself and subsequently my family with diligence and compassion. She and the other physicians are consummate professionals with impeccable credentials. Thank you for both your compassion and dedication to your many patients.
Poor location for pedestrians and cyclists. Communication with the office is also difficult; you must listen through a prolonged message before being able to leave information by telephone. My pharmacist has been trying to make contact with the office for nearly 72 hours but has not been able to get a response.
Very disappointed that i cannot make an appointment for tomorrow when my doctor has availability. Their new same day or next day booking system doesn't seem to work if i cannot make an appointment for the next day and give my employer sufficient notice.
We have a family doctor that practices here. My wife and I and daughter have all been together and separately. We've never waited more than 10min and the staff are all friendly and helpful . Proud to call them our family doctor. 10/10 would recommend.
I've been with them since I was a kid, had 3 doctors with this practice, all amazing, the nurses are knowledgeable and über willing to help, and the reception team is phenomenal. They've helped my mom and I immensely throughout the years.
I have gone to these wonderful Docs and kind staff for 20 years. Many family members go here. We are all very happy with the treatment we get, even in these tough times. Good people.
I have been involved with these Dr.'s for quite some time and always found they went above and beyond no matter what my needs have been. Amazing office staff and excellent service!
Can be tricky to reach, but always friendly when you do get booked!
