After being loyal customers of Wynnum Manly Veterinary Hospital, I am shocked at how misleading they were to my family and I. They cruelly installed false hope and did not properly inform us of treatments for our dog, leaving out important information such as major disadvantages/side effects and failed to inform us of survival rates after treatments. In doing this they lead us to believe that surgery was the best option. Unfortunately, I learned too late, that it was not. They knowingly put our beautiful boy through a surgery that would do little to improve his quality of life and lead to unnecessary pain both immediately after surgery and for the short amount of time he had left after. I assume they did this because of money. For example, a month after surgery our dog started getting sick again. We took him back to the vets and yet again, they pushed for another pricey surgery (knowing he had little time left, yet making us believe he would live for years more. They also lead us to believe his prior illness had nothing to do with what was happening to him this second time around. However, after seeking second and third opinions, we learned that this was not the case. Instead of helping us do what was right for our dog, they misguided us into paying thousands to do quite the opposite. There is not one day that goes by that I don't blame myself for taking our loving and loyal dog to Wynnum Manly Veterinary Hospital. If I had taken him elsewhere, he wouldn't have suffered the way he did. Unfortunately, I naively believed the higher priced vet would insure better quality and care for my dog. This was not the case, there are far better veterinary hospitals out there that don't cost an arm and a leg. I would never recommend Wynnum Manly Veterinary Hospital after my experience! If you do go to this place, please look out for misleading information and don't be afraid to seek out second. third or even fourth opinions from other vets. I would strongly advise finding a different vet. P.S. I had been debating for sometime whether or not to post this, but in the end I decided I would do anything in my power to insure other dogs wouldn't suffer in the same way.

I was a loyal customer of WMVH for over 20 years with our families pets. We took our beloved pet dog to WMVH, our pet was over 13 years old. We where advised by at least 2 vets on separate consultations there she had Kennel Cough and charged a consultancy fee and medication fee for each consultation The medication ended again and the cough was just a bad so we visited your clinic again. This time we were told our dog does not have Kennel Cough, but was a respiratory issue. So we have out layed by this time for 3 consultation visits and medication only from I believe was incorrect diagnosis by 2 vets. This time it was added on that our dogs teeth were so bad that she should have her teeth cleaned, xrayed and some would have to be removed. We were told our dog is in great pain. Like most people our dog was a beloved family member to be told she was in great pain was distressing. We agreed to get the operation done. We were quoted $700.00 for the procedure. I returned a few hours later to collect Phoebe and was told the bill was $900.00 dollars. I also noticed in the $900.00 bill we were charged $163.00 for dog grooming that we were told nothing about in the initial fees We I took our dog home and she seemed very disorientated and distressed. 2 days later our dog passed away on the bed beside my partner, which was a very traumatic for her. We contact this vet via email and to this day have received no reply written or verbal. Do not take you pet there you will only leave majorly out of pocket and heart broken

She quickly on Sunday morning commenced deteriorating and became obvious that she required humanitarian support to exit her pain. Your compassion, consideration and love to Milo and ourselves during the process will forever be etched in our hearts as you comforted us all through what was and is a most distressing process – thank you so much for such support and empathy. We feel so blessed that you supported the procedure and allowed Milo to calmly and gently exit her pain and rest at ease – thank you so much from Milo, Natalie and Brian. We will miss our dear Milo who filled our days with such happiness and joy , it was a honour to love such a sweet soul. We called ahead and asked if they did early completion vaccinations as every practice is different and we wanted to find one that suited us. We were assured on the phone that they were able to do early completion so we booked. After taking our puppy there, talking to the vet and her being vaccinated we realised to late that they did not follow the early completion schedule. I understand every practice is different the problem here is the lack of transparency and communication about it. If they had told us in our initial phone call that they did not follow the schedule we were already following it would have been fine. Instead they vaccinated our dog on a completely different schedule. I called them up to talk about it and rather than being understanding, having a conversation about it and discussing what we could do moving forward he instead got defensive and proceeded to tell me about why his method is superior and that socialisation isn’t that big of an issue. Overall the experience was very unpleasant and as a result our puppy now isn’t able to continue on the early completion schedule plus she will have to have an extra vaccination as she’s already had 3 at 10 weeks. Just make sure when going to them you’re clear on what you’re looking for and clarify that they are able to meet those needs so you don’t end up disappointed and feeling like us.

Took my very fearful chihuahua to see Dr Bob out of desperation after wasting thousands of dollars at another vet trying to find the source of his pain. Bob was excellent. He listened intently, took detailed notes, did an incredibly thorough examination and then touched base by phone several times in the weeks following to check on his progress/provide advice. The level of comfort this provided me cannot be overstated - I can tell he is genuinely invested in my dog’s health and I couldn’t be more grateful. The reception team are also exceptional. None of this impersonal ‘automated text message reminder’ stuff, they pick up the phone and have an actual conversation with you, going above and beyond to check in and follow up. They are always so polite, understanding and helpful. Cannot thank them enough and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a vet they can trust. PS. Sorry for the bite on the finger, Bob! Incredible. I took my beloved 3kg Maltese dog here 7 years ago after she got hit by a huge truck (in comparison to her size). And the entire team here were incredible: They were professional, honest and genuinely cared about our dog as if it were their own. To the point where they looked over her, gave her the all clear and only charged a minimal consultation fee (no other unnecessary expensive costs). And kindly told us to keep her in a play pen for 3-4 weeks while she recovers. Then she should be back in full health. And sure enough our lil 3kg pocket rocket (beloved pooch) is now 17 years old and going strong. ✨ I trust this team implicitly and highly recommend them for your beloved family members Thanks Aleira for today. What a wonderful experience it is to come to Wynnum Manly Vet Hospital. Every time my cat is not doing so well, I always worry, sometimes jumping to the worst conclusions (Hello, anxiety!). The last two times I've been, Dr Claire has been the epitome of everything I'm looking for in a vet. She takes the time to truly listen to my concerns and responds in a way that not only puts me at ease but is also straightforward and easy to understand. She triages solutions, always looking for the best but least expensive option first and only suggesting other more in-depth and perhaps more costly solutions afterwards. I'm grateful to have found a wonderful team here to look after my kitty's long-term wellbeing. Thanks for everything!

I have the utmost respect and confidence in this vet surgery, the vets and the vet staff. During the last years of my beloved cat's life, everyone at the surgery became my night time family :). Treatments were administered with care, empathy and compassion - and she thrived under their care. A couple of times it really took "out of the box" thinking to find what was causing her ailments - and every time, they found the cause and treated it. My next lovely fluffy came from this vet surgery after she was found abandoned at a house in Wynnum... she is much loved and pampered now and we are always greeted with smiles and interest. I cannot speak highly enough of these guys and girls.

We have attended this practice for nearly 9 years with our two cocker spaniels. The vets and vet nurses are all very caring, professional, experienced and knowledgeable. It is an extremely hygienic and clean practice and runs on schedule, with no long wait times in the waiting room. The prices are reasonable and affordable, and the vets do not arrange unnecessary testing. My dogs and I are always happy to visit the practice (dogs are especially excited!), and we can highly recommend Wynnum Manly Vet Hospital. We have been dealing with the veterinarians Tom and Bob and Staff for many years and have always had a professional experience and reasonable rate .Tom was called to my 14 year old German Sheppard which hat become extremely unwell ,he was there to my home immediately and took great care in helping him Passover and totally understood the devastation that is caused when the decision has to be made .Toms professionalism and compassion is second to none great vets Bob has also had dealings with many of our pets and also is totally professional and compassionate I would highly recommend these vets to all

Our cat has an altercation with a flying fox and his eye was punctured. We arrived 8am Sunday morning and was able to get an appointment and consultation for him. The vet let us know our options, and through each stage tried to keep the cost down as much as possible. We found out he needed surgery and anaesthesia, and were able to decide our course of action then. He had happily recovered with no complications and we're really grateful to the team at WMVH.

Thanks so much to the wonderful team for taking such great care of our beloved dog Izzy who was misdiagnosed at another local vet overnight. Our dog was unable to walk and the team called for medical handover, provided clear prognostic and diagnostic information, listened to our concerns, thoroughly checked her out multiple times, and helped her mend quickly. Horrible service. Bad communication from staff and just plain uninterested in their customers. I didn't even get acknowledged when I went in and was talked to without being looked at. After waiting for 45 mins and still no apologies I walked out cancelling my appointment. I definitely won't go there again. If that's how they treat their customers infront of their faces... how are they treating the animals behind closed doors.

I'm glad I have found a great vet near me and my cat. The vet, Nickie, is super friendly, informative and empathetic when I talked about my ongoing failed attempts to clean my cat's teeth. She sounds genuine and treats my cat as a patient, not another customer. All receptionists are also super friendly and polite when I asked questions. Consultation fees on board is also good as it means they value clarity. Highly recommend.

The clinic and every vet who works there have treated my boys like they are their own, especially Dr Bob. I can not say enough about the service which includes the receptionist, always friendly and helpful. Even after moving away I continued to take my 2 dogs there. Thank you for making many illnesses/visits as the boys have got older and finally the loss of Peanut more bearable with your kindness and genuine empathy.

I have to be honest , my wife and I have had some bad experiences with Vets over the years and they were not my favorite professional people. We are from a farming back ground so I have some authority on animal welfare. But I have to confess that the care and attention that our dog received was excellent. I think that the best thing I can say is we will certainly be going back if she needs healthcare.

We woke up Sunday morning to a sick puppy and the vet was able to fit us straight away. It was extremely clean and the staff were friendly. They were thorough and quickly identified the problem. Our pup was back to normal in 24 hours. Also pleasantly surprised at the final bill, expected a higher consultation rate given it was a Sunday but it was just the standard.

Amazing. I’m so sad to have moved from the area as these guys are my go to! Affordable pricing compared to some chain-vets I’ve been to in the past. First appointment I felt welcomed and at ease to bring my two pups here. They’ve had small procedures like needles and check ups, to having their teeth scaled and cleaned. I highly recommend them!!

I had my first experience here yesterday. Sadly it was the worst possible outcome for my cat, but the empathy, care and delivery was exceptional. I went to another vet a few months ago for my other cat and they were cold and made me really uncomfortable. So I really recommend these guys.

We have been visiting this vet surgery for the last ten years. The staff are always so caring towards all the animals that visit. The vet nurses are very accommodating & will fit you in when your fur baby needs an urgent appointment. The Vets are extremely knowledgeable & very thorough.
