"We had a wonderful experience"
I’m updating my review after some unfortunate experiences. I’ll start by saying that Dr. Mason is absolutely amazing, as is Dr. Gelman. The vets always squeeze us in when it’s important. I will also add my dog Igloo had a disproportionate number of ear infections that needed a lot of visits. Now, Igloo has a wonderful, sociable temperament with not a fearful bone in her body - until we started going to Yonge and St Claire Vet. She had seen a number of vets before in Halifax with no fear of the vet until now. My strong impression is that one of the vets and vet techs here cultivated this fear in her. As early as the first visit a year ago, one of the vets noted that 9-month Igloo was a strong, untrained squirmy puppy (which she was) and indicated Igloo needed physical restraint when in fact I watched as the vet techs cornered her against the wall during her early visits here without even giving her the time to get comfortable. There was zero bedside manner. This happened a number of times, and when we eventually started seeing Dr. Mason because the other vet went on maternity leave, we watched as Dr. Mason explicitly instructed the vet tech to stop cornering Igloo and that with Igloo “less is more” and she was absolutely right. Dr. Mason is gentle, wonderful and respectful of an animals personal space. She took the time to let Igloo get comfortable, she was mindful and always knew when it was “too much”, and phased out her examinations. Magically, Igloo cooperated with Dr. Mason for the most part. But unfortunately by the time we started seeing Dr. Mason the damage was already done and Igloo developed a permanent fear of entering their office, constantly squirmed, although she was never ever aggressive. When the other vet returned after maternity leave, i saw her again when Dr. Mason was not available. As expected, Igloo was uncooperative and squirmy. This vet immediately suggested it was in Igloo’s interest to start sedating her before her appointments. I said I would think it over and get back. It seemed like a red flag that the vet that had cultivated this fear in the first place was also the one to jump to suggesting medication. Without suggesting desensitisation first. The last straw for me was the administrative mess at this vet clinic (which happen often enough). I managed to secure a last minute appointment for 1.5 hours later, this time with Dr. Mason again. Because I was unable to catch a pet friendly Uber I called them 30 mins later to ask if I could arrive 30 mins late. There were a few back and forth calls some with Tamara and some with Jo and the end outcome was that only the other vet was available. I insisted that I will have to cancel since I only wanted to see Dr. Mason. They said ok. There was clearly a miscommunication because in 15 mins I received a call asking where I was and that Dr. Mason was waiting for me. When I clarified my position, I was sent a rude email explaining their cancellation policy indicating that I had intentionally stood up the vet. When I shared with them my call logs and clearly outlined the miscommunication issue, they refused to acknowledge any miscommunication whatsoever. Never mind the fact that I had never missed or appointment in a year. This was the last straw for me and I found another vet. The new vet, when I explained Igloo’s fear, suggested I bring her in often for social visits, and during her first appointment took their time getting to know her, didn’t rush her, was extremely patient and Igloo cautiously cooperated for a full examination with no restraint needed whatsoever. If this is not clear evidence that the problem was the Yonge and St Clair Vet, I’m not sure what is. And to think the other vet suggested medication for a situation that was created on her watch, and she never once suggested desensitisation bewilders me. Yonge and St Claire vet techs and some of the vets could learn a thing or two about bedside banner around dogs from Dr. Mason and that not all dogs are equal and some dogs like people need their time to overcome personal boundaries
For all of these positive reviews, I wonder how many people had a cat or dog with a real health issue and got good advice, treatment and care? Because I have had a very bad experience with this clinic after my cat was diagnosed with diabetes. The issues include omitting information on the correct needle size, asking me to use an injector "off label" even though the manufacturer rep confirmed that the injector is not suitable for use in injecting 0.5 units of insulin, omitting key advice on calorie intake for cat, omitting key advice that most cats (like mine) are grazers and cannot each 135 calories in one sitting, performing blood glucose curve test under conditions that did not simulate "real life" conditions by not offering food during the 8 hours my cat was at clinic (would this not lead to a drop in blood glucose over 8 hours if cat is fasting for 8 hours?), and failure to follow-up on status and progress in a timely fashion. Because my cat's symptoms did not go away after 7 weeks of treatment, I did some online research and found gaps in advice given and also misinformation, including that I was using the wrong needle size for almost 7 weeks. When I raised this and other concerns, the last email I received was this - "Hi Dolly, I am the manager at Yonge and St. Claire Veterinary Hospital. I have read through all of your emails to Dr. Mason and have come to the conclusion that you are not comfortable with her recommendations. It seems we have lost your trust in regards to Pocko's care. At this point I think it is best you seek veterinary care elsewhere. Hopefully you can find more trust in another facility that you did not find with us. Thank you, Stephanie" I would like to add that the people here are very nice and compassionate and I have no issues with the kindness and compassion shown to my pets. On that front, this clinic has been great.
My husband and I recently moved to Canada, and one of our top priorities was finding a reliable veterinary hospital for our beloved dog, Rinri. After extensive research and recommendations, we discovered Yonge & St. Clair Veterinary Hospital, and we couldn't be happier with our choice. From the moment we stepped into the hospital, we were warmly welcomed by their friendly staff. As newcomers to the country, their hospitality and willingness to assist us were truly appreciated. They took the time to understand Rinri's medical history and listened attentively to any concerns we had. Their genuine care for both pets and pet owners made us feel right at home. The veterinary care provided is nothing short of exceptional. Rinri has received thorough examinations and treatments with the utmost professionalism and expertise. The veterinarians and technicians are highly skilled and knowledgeable, and they consistently go above and beyond to ensure Rinri's well-being. Their genuine love for animals shines through in the way they handle every situation with care and compassion. We highly recommend Yonge & St. Clair Veterinary Hospital to anyone in search of outstanding veterinary care for their furry companions.
We loved this vet hospital. It was easy to schedule an appointment, and it was a pleasure just to be there and talk to doctors inside. The doctor we had was very professional. I would never change this vet hospital and i will always bring two cats of mine here. We appreciate how pleasant everyone is and how good doctors are. We liked everything on our first visit. We loved that we have been called and informed about small delay and asked to arrive 10 minutes later - small detail but it made us feel that Yonge & St. Clair Veterinary Hospital respects our time. Update after few more visits: We absolutely love doctors at this vet clinic - everyone is very professional and easy to talk to. It is a pleasure for us to bring our cats to this veterinary hospital and it is not very stressful for cats to come for a visit. One our cat is very stressed when visiting doctors but once we booked our appointment i was contacted to come and take calming drug for a cat to give him before visit.
We had a wonderful experience. The staff were so friendly and knowledgeable. They were incredibly patient with us as well (we had a lot of puppies and were late). They were very supportive and helpful to us as the puppies ended up getting sick on the ride so the staff washed them off with pet wipes cleaning off all the vomit. As the pups were only 8 weeks old they had many accidents during the visit and the staff cleaned up the accidents without any issues as well. It was truly an incredible visit. We highly recommend this clinic. So professional, incredibly patient, knowledgeable and very loving/gentle to the puppies. The examination was done effectively and the vaccines given in an efficient manner. The puppies had a great experience too so they won't fear the vet moving forward. Thank you for a wonderful experience!
Terrible! Omg! I can’t believe this! I called them to make an emergency appointment for my dog cause his own doctor was on vacation. First the receptionist told me they have free appointment, however, after few seconds I have been told that they are going to call me back.My dog was feeling very unwell so I decided to call them back and followup about the appointment. A lady which was super rude told me that she is not going to book my dog since we didnt show up 2 years ago!!! And now they want deposit to give us an appointment. I mean Im so glad not showing up 2 years ago cause I realized at that time (truly) all they care about is just money. And I have to say if I had any other choice I would’ve rather die than calling you and ask your help today. You have to be ashamed of yourself.
Everyone was extremely nice, warm and professional towards me and my cats. I felt like my cats were checked very thoroughly and I felt very supported and well informed throughout the process of getting dental work done for both of my cats. The surgery itself was done really quickly and when I picked up my cats afterwards they seemed pretty calm and extremely well cared for. They went right back to their usual selves at home, so I can only conclude that they received excellent care and didn't experience any pain or discomfort during or after the surgery. I also really liked how everything including the price and the procedure itself was communicated clearly upfront so I knew what to expect.
Yonge and St Clair Vet Hospital has been the most attentive, warm, and helpful during my journey as a first time dog owner thus far. I trust them with the care of my animal and they have always addressed my questions and concerns with grace. There is never any silly questions, or too many. This has provided with me so much confidence. Every doctor, nurse, tech, and reception has been amazing! They have always been accommodating and Quincy is always happy to come visit. Not only that, EVERY animal who is there when we visit seems content and that says a lot about the team. I'm grateful to have a vet that has been so helpful for our family!
I have been recommending YSC Vet for a very long time to customers at my pet store and have just recently become a client myself. The staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable, Dr Lane is fantastic and I look forward to her meeting the rest of my pets! This hospital has a truly personable touch that is rare these days, it really sets them apart! Having more one on one time with the doctor is incredible here as most clinics your appointment is 95% ACA or RVT and only 5% with the Vet. I highly recommend this veterinary hospital to anyone looking for quality care and compassion for their fur babies!
Love the service from the moment I arrived to the moment I left. Dr Lindsey Lane and her assistant were amazing with Tanjiro. Customer Service - Dr Lane helping me with taking Tanjiros carrier. They were amazing with Tanji not once did he do the famous Shiba Scream. He has a condition called Cerebellar Hypoplasia which is more common in cats and really rare in dogs especially in a Shiba Inu. Dr Lane answered all of my questions that I had about his condition and some puppy questions. I left with a goodie bag for my pup. Highly recommend (From my partners words who took Tanjiro to the appointment)
We have been taking our two cats to Yonge & St. Clair Vets since 2020, for both their basic needs but also specific issues. The doctors and staff are very attentive, helpful and caring. They have very efficient practices, yet take more than enough time to explain things and address your specific concerns. They are also excellent with email correspondence. The fees seem very reasonable, although they fail to outline them in advance. Overall, we feel very comfortable putting our cats in their hands. We look forward to continuing our relationship with Yonge & St. Clair Vets in the future!
The folks here are fab! I picked Yonge & St Clair out from the many vets in the city due to the exceptional reviews on here (despite not living near Midtown) and they held up :) Dr. Mason was wonderful with my rescue dog and thorough when talking to me about the necessary treatments/medications necessary for her. The receptionist staff are lovely as well! They went above and beyond in supporting us while sorting out all the complicated documentation necessary for relocating to the UK. So happy with the service received here and will be returning when back in Toronto!
We started going to YSC vet since they opened, and our experience anywhere from routine vaccines to special consults have been nothing but great. Both Dr. G and Dr. Mason have been so kind and patient, answering all of our questions the best they can. Their clinic is clean and modern, and all of the vet staff have been so helpful and great. I definitely trust that the doctors and staff genuinely have the best interest of our pets in mind, and would totally recommend everyone to go to them.
I lost my beautiful girl suddenly.. it was a hard 3 days since we found out her cancer spread. Dr. Mason and the team were wonderful. They gave us comfort and even when we had to put her down Dr. Mason canceled her appointment to make sure she was there and walked us through the process as well as offered comfort and assistance that we needed. I can not thank them enough because we sent our baby off in the best way just because of them. I don’t know what we would have done otherwise.
We just started bringing our cats here recently, but have enjoyed our interactions with everyone. They really care about all the animals they work with, and are very thorough in the care they provide. They are also very good with communication and using modern technologies to actually show you what's going on. No more handwritten notes that even other vets can't read. Having multiple veterinarians in one clinic is also a bonus, providing better coverage and availability.
The definition of compassionate and caring people. We showed up 20 minutes before opening and Jacklyn assessed the situation for our frenchie outside of the clinic and knew how to calm us down. Gave us an appointment for later to make sure the boy will be ok. We are traveling and in between destinations but she made sure we got taken care of promptly and professionally. 100% recommended. Find people that care for the animal and not the dollar sign at the end.
Where do I even begin? We were in town for a few days and noticed our Frenchie was in a lot of pain. We rushed to their location and Jaclyn was very kind to give us an assessment before the opening to calm us down. We were given an appointment very quickly where we received outstanding services. It was very obvious that she does this out of love and care and we are beyond grateful to have met her. Definitely would recommend this vet for your fur babies.
Located conveniently close to the St. Clair subway this is an great place. I have been taking my dog since I got him and have always received excellent service. The staff is courteous and my vet Dr. Tiffany Mason is amazing with my dog. To sum it up, my vets can be a scary visit for our pets but my dog is always excited for his visits and I have observed the same with other pets at Yonge & St. Clair . Highly recommend.
Excellent customer experience, the doctors and staff are very nice, take time to explain things, and treat humans and animals with great care. It’s a small practice but the service is personalized, I can get an appointment in a short time and waiting times once you are in the office are short. Recently they have started to let people accompany their pet in the exam room, which is amazing. Very happy with everything.
Dr. Mason is very knowledgeable and always has a smile on her face. She's made herself available in cases of emergency during work hours and we know our dog is in very good hands. The staff are very polite and professional; you can tell they all love animals in the way they care for them. Thank you Dr. Mason and team for all that you do. Dr. Mason's expertise and the peace of mind it brings us is priceless
Yonge and St. Clair always provides the best care for our dog, Emmy! The entire team is extremely kind and genuinely cares about the wellbeing of pets. The vets and vet-techs are very knowledgeable and always do a great job making Emmy feel comfortable. I also appreciate how patient and accommodating the front desk team members are, and how easy they are to contact.
The whole team is great, whenever I have a concern, I give the office a call, and usually within 24-48 hours I have an appointment. All the doctors are absolute gems, they listen to every concern I have (without rushing me along or offering judgement), talks me through several different options, and is just always incredibly friendly the whole way through.
We bring both our dogs here, and the care they provide for our fur babies has been unparalleled. Dr. Lane is always very thorough and understanding of what we need. Our dogs do not have the easiest personalities, but the staff gently ensures they receive the necessary care. Needless to say, we won't be going elsewhere for our fur babies.
Dr Gelman and his team are wonderful to partner with for excellent pet veterinary hospital care and services. The appointment was thorough, ethical, patient, friendly, listens and caring for your pet and you. Takes the time to explain and address any concerns about my dog. Highly recommend, great location and private veterinary hospital.
The quality of care and staff friendliness is excellent. I switched to this vet and I am glad I did. They review the medical history, educate clients, and assess the animal thoroughly. They also take the time to address any questions or concerns that may arise. There is a friendly atmosphere, and the staff is very patient and attentive.
Yonge and St. Clair Vet is an outstanding veterinary office. Any time we need to bring our dog in we know that he will be well cared for, and treated with the same love and kindness we give him at home. I couldn’t say enough great things and would highly recommend bringing your pet here for care if you’re in the Toronto area!
We are so grateful to the clinic for always fitting us in when something unexpected comes up. The team is prompt, friendly, organized and Dr. Mason clearly cares deeply about each patient and their overall health. Our visits feel very personal and friendly and that's exactly the kind of care we love for our precious doggo!
I'm very thankful to your clinic for squeezing me in last minute on a Saturday! I just adopted Hallie and was anxious about her health issues, but your staff were so helpful and reassuring! Great office set up, clean and welcoming. I really appreciated Dr. Tiffany's thorough examination and treatment plan for my dog!
Thanks for accepting Bailey as your new patient. We are happy that our Bailey is in good hands of Dr Tiffany Mason at Yonge & St Clair Veterinary Hospital. I liked how well Bailey was examined today by Dr Tiffany and Dr addressed all the concerns we had. Returned home with peace of mind knowing he is in good shape.
Absolutely wonderful staff! My cat was well taken care of during our visits. From reception to veterinarians, the staff are knowledgeable and take time to explain things in a way so that pet owners understand their animals health. The offices were also very clean and comfortable. Would highly recommend …
Absolutely love this clinic. Took my cat in to get her teeth checked out. Unfortunately my cat is not the kindest when visiting the vet and I am so grateful for the way they cared for her. Even though my cat was not happy they handled her with so much patience and kindness. Will definitely be coming back.
Thank you so much for being so wonderful. We always receive amazing quality care, so thank you. The quality of your care is amazing. You go above and beyond and you show that you truly care about your clients. Always so pleasant to deal with and we appreciate your kindness on top of your excellent care.
There’s no one else I would trust with my pets. They are always so responsive & friendly when I contact them for any issue whatsoever. They always make time when one of my furry ones are sick or need any medical attention. They have always made me feel beyond happy to leave my pets in their hands.
We just feel so cared for here. The staff is so great - during visits they really are gentle and caring with our Margo and Dr Mason is fantastic. They always follow up to see how things are going after appointments or concerns. Above and beyond. Just so kind and caring. Couldn’t be happier here.
Yonge &St Clair Veterinary hospital is amazing. The care that Daisy gets is exceptional. They always see her quickly and all my concerns are addressed. The staff are friendly and helpful. They always follow up to see that Daisy is doing well after her visits. I highly recommend this clinic !
Huge thanks to Dr. Jaclyn Posluns and the whole team. We have been to Dr Jaclyn for everything from check ups and routine vaccinations, to dental procedures. I know my animals are always receiving the best care at Yonge & St. Clair Veterinary, and especially with Dr Jaclyn.
Doctor Mason and the whole team at Yonge & St. Clair are fantastic. We always know that our cats will be well cared for and the team often goes above and beyond. We trust them completely and we are grateful for all the help they have provided. Thank you Doctor Mason …
Really pleased with how they treated Cathy (my cat) and having all my questions answered. This was my first visit after a recommendation from my neighbour, and I am very happy that she referred me your way. Taking the time to answer my questions and non pushy advice.
Yonge and St. Clair Veterinary Hospital is an efficient and caring place. The office is clean and airy; the staff are very helpful, and the patient was fairly calm and quiet, considering. My cat will be a regular here. I am fully satisfied with the care given.
Everyone is friendly and caring. It's a happy environment. My dogs are always excited to come to this clinic. I love the staff most especially Dr. Mason. She explains everything and does a thorough check up on the boys. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Friendliness and caring team.
Just had our first visit. Very nice facility. The staff were kind, patient and very compassionate. There was no hard sell on additional services, food, etc., they did exactly what we asked them to do. Prices are very reasonable for the area. We will be back.
We have had Jaclyn as our vet for both of our visits with our new Siberian cat Bob, and my partner and I enjoy how personable and professional and knowledgeable she is. Same can be said for the rest of the staff as well. I’m happy to give them my business
I brought my two dogs for their annual vaccines and exam. The examination was smooth and thorough. Dr Mason is very friendly and caring and easy to communicate with. The whole team was professional and understanding. All in all it was a great experience.
I have been with YSVC for a number of years with our previous dog and now a new puppy. The care I have always received has been exceptional all the way around. When I call, or when I come in, the staff is always helpful, warm, caring and compassionate!
I feel my dog is very well taken here and I’m confident with the medical professionals who have great bedside manner. The team is professional, friendly and always helpful. This clinic is very well run and it lives up to its name. We appreciate you !
First visit for our new cat and staff were wonderful. Super helpful, friendly and made us feel safe and comfy in the environment. Treated our cat with such kindness and Im sure he could tell because he barely flinched! Definitely recommend.
Excellent healthcare Dr Gelman and his staff are extremely friendly, professional and ensure that our pets are well taken care of. Personal phone calls and follow up from the doctor and staff brings a sense of comfort. Thank you …
I've been incredibly pleased with my experience here. All the staff are kind, approachable, knowledgeable, and diligent. I couldn't imagine a better vet! The follow up after appointments to see how my dog is doing is especially nice.
What a great facility for veterinary services. Fantastic, friendly and professional services with individual attention by everyone at at every step. A very special thank you to Dr. Mason from Leo for her gentle kindness and caring!
Doctor Tiffany is kind and thorough. The vet took her time to explain our options. She is always very friendly and approachable. Lillian appreciates her soft touch! No charge for shaving was very appreciated as I'm on a low income.
Such attentive staff from reception to vet. They always follow up and are great with my anxious pup. I switched to them based on their reviews and am so glad I did. Would recommend to anyone who wants the best care for their pet.

I'm very satisfied with the service Dr Lindsay and her team provided. They examined my cats with great care, and gave us detailed explanations along each steps of the process. Exceptional service at reasonable price.
Dr Gelman was our vet a few years ago and we absolutely loved him. He is very attentive, caring, and knows what he's doing! We just moved back to Toronto and were so excited to rejoin his team's care!
Incredible care and service. And didn’t break the bank. They got my dog in right away for an emergency when no one else in Toronto and as far as Oshawa or Aurora could. Great place, highly recommend.
Dr. Mason and the team are fantastic; very knowledgeable, won't oversell you on unnecessary or invasive procedures, great bedside manners and health teaching, best vet we've ever had :)
Care was excellent on our first visit. The examination fee is a little high compared to what we are used to paying but standard for the area and worth the location convenience for us.
Staff was lovely top to Bottom, really enjoyed the experience top to bottom. Tiff and her assistant are top notch The thoughtful care and diagnosis and how well you communicated
Great staff who take the time with each patient and parent. I never feel pressured to make snap decisions or rushed. Would recommend to anyone seeking excellent vet care!
Friendly and knowledgeable staff! Felt safe and secure. Very professional. I did not feel rushed - they answered all my questions and treated my cats with great respect
Everyone is so friendly and love that I'm being advised on all the options for my pup, but not being pushed to get everything. Worth the 45 min drive to get there! ☺️
Wonderful and caring team! They have exceptional communication and service. Dr. Posluns is extremely knowledgeable and will treat your pet like her own.
I was very impressed with the friendly customer service and the knowledgeable vet doc and staff. The location is also very handy and accessible.
It was so refreshing to go to a vet that actually seems to care about you and your pets. Trusting, kind, honest, thorough. Excellent!
So grateful for Dr Brian. He truly cares about our dog Bones and is so genuine. Best vet we’ve had in eight years.
Fantastic staff. Excellent, clean building. Always feel good bringing my fur baby. Friendly and caring staff
I feel very happy with the care to our cats. The vet assistant is very nice and gentle to them.
