Take the subway to the bell tower first, buy the joint ticket, see the bell tower, then come to the drum tower about 10 minutes walking distance. It's pretty light on information. Even if you come with a guide, the background of these two towers is relatively sparse in comparison to the terracotta warriors or even the wild goose pagoda. If you have 90 minutes to kill and are already in the area, you can do both towers within that time. It costs 50 rmb for a joint drum/tower ticket otherwise it's 30 rmb a piece. In hindsight, I think another 90 minutes in the Shaanxi history museum would have been a better use of time. You could lump it into dinner at the Muslim market since it's bordering the drum tower.

I visited this place with my girlfriend later in the evening. It was exactly what all the books, and internet said it was. I had a great time, and I was able to see a lot of the city. I took a lot of pictures of the skyline of the city. At the time it was in shrouded by fog so the lights of the city were reflecting up into the sky. I'm not a poetic person, but the scene was surreal. I would definitely recommend it for everybody to see. It was also quite romantic, if you're into that.

The Drum Tower of Xi'an is really impressive in terms of size, age, and beauty. Possibly the coolest Drum Tower I saw in China (although the Beijing Drum Tower was also pretty incredible). Located about a kilometer from the equally (if not more) impressive Bell Tower, they are easily walk-able from one another, and you can purchase a combined ticket which offers a nice discount over buying them separately. Both are in and of themselves must see sights when visiting Xi'an

The traditional Chinese struction was for ancient Chinese to know what time it was during nights. Using drums sound to tell citizens was a genius way when the electronic devices were not invented. Inside the building, you can see different kinds of drums displaying there. Climbing the top, you can see the streets around the building from different angles. It is easy to get there by Xi‘an city’s subway or bus.

If you buy the Drum Tower and Bell Tower tickets together it's totally worth the visit to each. Together it's less than $9 US. The drum tower is at the end of the Muslim street (which has a lot of food and souvenirs) and there's a walkway to the Bell Tower which is at the exact center of Xian. The Drum tower is a great example of Ming Dynasty architecture and and there is a musical show at regular hours.

The drum tower is close to Xi'an great mosque. It also have show at different time of traditional Chinese instrument. Its short and sweet. Buy combine ticket to both drum and bell tower, as it gives you different view of Xi'an. Try to visit both day and night, as it has beautiful light around it. You can see bell tower from drum tower and vice versa

It's such a prominent landmark that you HAVE to visit it, as well as the sister Bell Tower. The Drum museum was interesting, and the free drum performance was enthusiastic and energetic. Do note opening hours. The Drum Tower is right next to the famous Muslim Food Street night market for a taste of distinctive Silk Route sourced cuisine.

Drum Tower is an interesting spot to visit with Drums outside and inside to see. The inside of the building also has other displays out. It doesn't take long to visit so it can be a quick trip that you can squeeze in if you have some free time. It is in a nice location near the Muslim Street and you can see the Bell Tower from there.

This place is good for a 15 minute stop unless you have time to wait for the regular music concerts. Bottom floor has a museum of old drums. Top floor has a display of Qin Dynasty furnishings. Outside gives you a nice view of the bell tower.

What a fantastic fort. Parking was a real challenge. Getting up on to the fort walls was fantastic. I will not forget the size of the walls. The buildings are very interesting. I would have liked to have spent more time there.

Visit when you're in town. Tips get the combo ticket along with Bell tower. Can finishing the drum tower 30min. Just 1 round and climb up and down. Just that the queing and crowd that you need to bare.

This is the other half of a pair of iconic towers in Xian. The Drum tower is located next to the Muslim street food and it is at its best when viewed at night with the light shinning brightly on it.

Looking good on the outside but it is a bit fake on the inside, the things they put inside is not like the original historical items but new things from furniture shop.
