I am an 74 years old and I visited this store yesterday after a routine blood test. I was weak and tired. I have been a loyal customer of Aldi since I lived in Germany 40 plus years ago. I have noticed that staff in this store are generally unfriendly and many times I have been forced to move out of the way by one pulling pallets - no please or thank you. Yesterday, I was about to pick up a basket as a staff member approached me. Inadvertently I moved into the place next to a cooler that he wished to use. He pushed in between me and the cooler forcing me out of his way. I remonstrated with him as to his rudeness and he demanded I leave the store. Instead of deescalating, he started shouting for me to leave and denying his rude behaviour. I initially refused to leave and told him I would call the Police if he ever intimidated me again. I was then surrounded by several members of staff and head held high exited the store. I first thought that the staff member was escalating the situation to cover his rude behaviour and make me appear to be the aggressor. This might be so. Reflecting on the staff member’s behaviour and his look of hatred for me, I strongly suspect the use of substances by him. He was abnormally aggressive in reply to my pointing out that I was a loyal customer. I believe that any CCTV will bear this out. Some time ago a manager told me that, “ I don’t have enough staff “ when I queried the lack of baskets at the entrance after someone “stole” my basket with shopping in it as I was packing my bag. If you view my review of the Ormskirk Aldi, you will see my comments on the maltreatment of an OAP there. This must stop!
I visited this store at about 20.05 hours on Saturday 21st October. I called into by a bottle of Bourbon Whisky for a friend. When I got too the scanner area were you pay for your goods. The man at the checkouts said your not buying that as you are under the influence of alcohol. I said I am not. He responded again by sayiing yes you are I then responded by asking him how he could he could be qualified or n a position to make a judgement like that. As I dont drink. He then called thr security guard over and tried to have me removed from the shop premises At this point the duty manager came over to find out what was going on. So I explained to him what had been said. After talking with the duty manage I was able to make my purchase and I then left. I found this matter more embarrassing and insulting to my intelligence and I thank customer service training should be refreshed. I will not he visiting this store again due to the attitude of this member of staff. On contacting Aldi customer service. await my response as to how this matter will be delt with. However if you need to use this Aldi branch. Beware!
The 5 star is not for the selection, if for the people working so hard to deliver the best customer service and I thank them for that. I don't know why but I find Aldi more messy than any other stores , more harder to find things you need due to layout but I guess that gives you a reason to browse more and it's a good technique to up sale more products. You can find anything you need and very similar to the Lidl superstore. Most times I find Aldi things that lidl runs out or the other way around. The staff are nice at the checkout but not many on the shop floor if you want to ask them a question. Great products, great variety . Overall a good place to do a quick shopping. Thank you Aldi.
The cashier was lashing at me for delaying the queue. I had many items and she told me I'm supposed to pack them on the side. She also moved the items angrily (after scanning them), interrupting me to put them in the bags. It is clear that they put pressure on the cashirs to work as fast as possible. It seems that the cashirs thinks the customers also work for Aldi and need to comply to the speed standards. I'm sure she thinks so, because those are the values she receives from her imployer. They also have the beeping noise from the credit reader, that gives you the feeling of a patient dying in hospital and you need to pay fast and leave before something terrible will happen
Picked up a Too good to go items and it was thee worst items to choose from. Shocking that a well known supermarket brand give away out of date food items or almost off items of food to their fellow people! Absolutely shocking and disgusting that they also do not provide enough food to feed a family. I don't shop in Aldi and probably never will. The items I chose I didn't cater for a vegetarian (which I am)... so I took a packet of ham and pepperoni pizza (small) and three bags of out of date iceberg lettuce and gave it to my neighbours who eat meat. Never again. No care or mindfulness of what people can or can't eat.
This Happened in Aldi City center! Last Saturday I really Witness Something Shocking! There was a Colored Man who bought 3 chicken and 5 drinks the cashier counted 6 chicken instead of 3 ! The man asked why 6 I‘m buying only 3 can you cancel them! Not able to do it She Called the manager Her two added an Extra Drink! The man asked Why are you doing this? the manager raised his voice and called security the man frowned out the man! Not even an Appology! Please shoppers look your bills while Shopping so they won't full you! Careful when Shopping everywhere!
Nice super market with many promotions and offers. Almost every week there's a promo for fruits and vegetables. You can find what you want and in a very good prices. It is a store very convenient for students and for tourists because it is in the centre of the city and could help you with everything you could need. Also is one of the most cheap super market and you could find many snacks and salads to eat when you are in a hurry. So I definitely recommend such a nice solution for everyone
1st does not open on time 2nd staff have major lack of customer service. 3rd queues to the self checkouts get to the till then got wait to ask a staff member for a bag who has to scan it on for you if anyone going nick something it's not going be a 20p Carrying bag. 4th big sign on self check out saying cash and card but staff only let u use them tills if ya paying cash even though there have card readers on. ( False advertising)
I have just been to Aldi in St. John’s market Liverpool and I have never shopped in a store before where the staff were as lovely and helpful as here..The lovely lady at check out her name was Charlotte is an absolute credit to your store, nothing was too much trouble and her customer relation skills are above and beyond and also jack who helped me massively thank you so much. You have a new regular customer!!
Simply the cheapest store with quality products I've ever encountered in the UK. You want to get their best deals? Just search for all products called "Everyday essentials" or "specially produced for Aldi" clearly stated on it. I never miss a week's shopping with Aldi. They've got the best prices, quality products and absolutely fantastic customer service. I strongly recommend to any one and everyone.
This aldi is very busy but it's the market with the best prices in town. The fruits ans veggies are not the best of the best but still good, they have a lot of selection. One thing is that they should put more ppl to refill the stocks and fridges, couple times I came to this stablishment and there wasn't chiken breast nor salmon. Specially if you come after 7pm. Come early btw
Like a jumble sale- gave up as a bad job trying to find ketchup- the layout is disastrous e .g no two products of a similar sort beside each other e.g canned prunes next to chocolate biscuits, tin foil next to washing up liquid- how on earth people find stuff i'll never know unless they just go round and throw everything in from random looking around. chaos!
One of the worst aldis I've been to, the stores way to small and cramped. Its always heaving and it takes forever to check out. There's not enough of a selection of items and only ever come here when I'm desperate for something. The staff are hit or miss and the overall cleanliness is pretty bad there always seems to be random items scattered through out.
The times I went it was very busy. The staff are friendly and the prices are like most other Aldi shops across the country - cheaper than the average supermarket on the high street. I'd go back again if I'm in the area as when you are lodging it is good to get cheep, quality food and not pay hotel prices or restaurant prices while working away from home.
I was only here to pick some bits up didn't stay long. The only downfall is the location. To get to a taxi or bus you need to walk upstairs or though St John's. I wouldn't do a big shop this Aldi is more for little bits than a big shop that's my opinion but you could probably have a shopping trolley but you still need to go up a slope to get a taxi.
The security guard has an Arrogant bully persona Who stands over you while you pack which is very intimidating especially for the elderly I could not believe my eyes when I finished with my basket before I had the chance to put it he grabbed it and slid it across the packing counter nearly taking my hand off I will be avoiding this place
Aldi is a great value shop with a much larger selection than ever before. Stick to food, drink and cleaning products though, the power tools are very flimsy. The reason I can only give this 3 stars is the sheer amount of unrecyclable packaging used. It makes shopping very difficult and an eco disaster unless you shop very carefully.
Most of the female staff on the tills are snotty and have no people skills so they obviously they need to be trained not to rush people and to be polite and professional. Also have all tills open when its busy e.g from 3pm to 6pm. Also there shouldn't be boxes and crates just left in the aisles as it is dangerous and a fire hazard
As usually, you get what you need here. If it's not here, it's not in anywhere. The prices are great, doubt anyone else can beat it. The staff are always there to help, and the self-checkout machines always work. It's located in the St. John's Mall, you won't miss it, but the closing time on Sundays are just not helpful enough.
Really wish I'd known about this place before, much cheaper than the Co-ops and Tescos dotted around and with a far greater selection of stuff. Couldn't find any powdered milk (the only thing I went in for really) but came out with plenty of other stuff I didn't expect to find so I can't complain too much
Shop here all the time but absolutely disgusted to see that now the tills are mainly self service. No manned tills open in the early morning. Ok for a few bits but not for a full load. I do not want to use tge self service thank you very much!!! Putting staff out of jobs and people from shopping here
Come here at least once a week as have to pick up consumables for work which is on the way. Really handy location and close to public transport links. Staff absolutely brilliant dealing with massive queues that appear from seemingly nowhere so always get served and out really quickly.
Staff respectful, but when we got to the till the young girls behind wasn't. They were to busy talking to notice that they had touch back which they denied and tried to get another customer involved. My back is very sensitive due to an injury i had which affects the nerves in my body.
Awful costumer service, no help from the staff, shelf’s are disorganised and keep an eye on your bill as the prices will increase when they charge at the till. You will also be called a liar when you challenge this. Overall there is loads of other aldis that this does not happen
they sell pretty good food for insanely low prices. Despite the "reputation", I'd recommend this place. One issue I had is that the aisles are pretty messy, but to be fair there are probably hundreds of people coming through every hour so it must be difficult to maintain.
Good range of groceries & vegetarian/vegan options, perfect for living on a budget. Wide aisles & wheelchair accessible, no toilets but some by the St Johns entrance. Self service queues always overloaded, customers don't listen when staff ask them to move over.
Purchased everything I needed and it's all good quality and value for money. Very busy shop all tills open and whizzed through in no time. On line is just as pain free to use and any probs with delivery easy and efficient call centre. What's not to like .
Always the freshest of produce, great value and fabulous staff who always go out their way to help. My favourite place to shop by miles. Never fails to disappointment, always sknething new and akways a bargin. I just wish they would do home delivery.
My favorite shopping destination. Well stocked, easy access, fresh products and cheap prices. The cashiers got queues always but the staff is really fast and friendly. You end finishing quickly. The location is great as it is central and easily accessed.
Reasonable prices but they often have limited stock on many items. Additionally, the chicken often appears partially spoiled due to excessive moisture and slimy packaging. The lactose free milk also seems to spoil faster than the date printed.
My second favourite Aldi It's smaller than the one I prefer, but the location is very handy. Staff are very nice. Always helpful even though they are frequently rushed off their feet. Could do better with amount and variety of cat food …
Went to this Aldi a couple of days before Christmas and was shocked and disgusted by my experience. The security guard was extremely heavy handed with a young lad who opened his bottle of cider while walking around the shop but was willing
Talk about staff attitude! Today there were no baskets at the entrance and when I asked for a clean one, a guy with his hair in a Bob told me to use a dirty one. He then handed me one and told me to clean it myself
A great place to visit, and in Liverpool's city centre.Easy to access and close to public transport. The shop offers great value and choice.Only slight criticism is the queuing but this isn't a major inconvenience..
Aldi in Gateacre is ok but but everytime you go in there there's just boxes upon boxes upon boxes everywhere and forklift crates it would make it easier if there was a self-service cut the number of queues
Great prices and selection of products. Baby items are really good. The traffic light system for entering the store is also good. Just wish the aisles were a bit wider as it makes it feel quite cramped.
Frozen vegan range has got worse. Also, the St John's Liverpool shop is now mainly self service (from being all staffed checkouts 2 weeks ago). How many staff have you sacked? It's also quite messy.
Aldi was great as the Mrs wanted some last minute things and I came back out with a shopping trolley full and I forgot the item I went in for but hey the staff was very helpful thank you aldi …
Good shop in city centre, all your needs for food shop. It's not as good as it used to be, self-service tills, only a few staffed tills left now. Which means I don't go in as often, as I used to.
Helpful staff, great variation of goods. Even tho it's a hugely busy store, the staff are % always on hand for helpful advice and more. This team are a credit to your company …
Hey girls have you noticed the fit guys on the tills in this store! Defo worth finding a parking space to nip in for some food! Great place to shop too, lots of good food at decent prices.
Good products, value daily food shopping. Easy to find your favourite items as they keep the layout the same year after year. Friendly staff who seem to work really hard. Love aldi :)
Great selection of food, at very good prices, very cheap. Checkout queues can be quite long, so best time to visit is first thing, or you can be waiting a while to get served.
Lots of staff not wearing face coverings, no antibacterial spray to wipe down the baskets and no enforcement in general of people abiding by government regulations …
What a joke despite the products are less than adequate the store itself is disgusting. When you enter there are no baskets as there are no staff to assist, which I
One of the best places you can go to for your daily food and groceries. Good pricing and variety. And not too large, so you dont waste time and money unnecessarily.
Excellent quality produce at very reasonable prices. Their wines are great too. I now go out of my way to shop at Aldi passing rip-offs Tesco and Asda on the way.
black security guard is a street thug. pushes people. I've seen him taking people's shopping by force and smashing it to the ground. must be arrested immediately.
Great place for grocery shopping. Layout of store was great and loads of walking space. Shelf was stock up and well displayed. Came out with more than I wanted
Great place to do a bit of shopping. Much cheaper and better than Tesco. Only reason I'm not 5 staring the place is that there's never any baskets available
Absolutely love Aldi, there isn't one in my area so every tike I'm out and about I head for Aldi on my way back home. Excellent value for money shop!
You can get things at really affordable prices, and they have variety of things to shop from, it's located inside St. John towards the back entrance
Had a great vegan range…. Now it’s just burgers? Makes no sense. Disappointing that this city centre store has stopped selling vegan products
Is the pandemic over, at least 50% of the shoppers were not wearing masks, no sunflower tabs obvious. No more Aldi for me. Didn't feel safe.
Good decent prices on daily groceries but you a realy long queues on tills. Update : there's always long queues cus there always busy.
A good variety bug nothing much that I knew. I only cook with microwave as I don't have a cooker and I found few microwave meals.
Best store, saving lives lol I love you Aldi. I just need a sweet cheap bread made of flour to be available please ♥️ …
There is now the option of self service as well as cashier check outs and always someone on hand to help on self service
I really like shopping here as you never know what you may find in the middle Isle, the staff are friendly and helpful
Some items found in the website is not sold here. Lack of selection of dried beans and peas, only the can variety.
OK in general but not very well signed for items. Good value pleasent staff. And very handy fore bus home.
One of the best places I have shopped. Open to everyone one, easy access to even those with disability.
Really a friendly shop and they have people that work on tills and actually speak to customers …
Always busy but most of the time also quick to maneuver and checkout, good deals on price ofc
Liam on self check out is a pure bell can't do his job to save his life ...proper jobs worth
Update....Aldi vegan line is barely existent at this branch now. Hardly shop here anymore.
The old man security is rude and mistreated me . I will never back again to this store .
Very reasonable price, wide variety of Products available at compitetive prices.
Great for picking up a few bits. Good produce, nice staff and reasonable prices
Smaller than other ones but still has a good range of products
Excellent store, good fresh products really good helpful staff

Loved the shop got a few bargains lovely staff happy to help
Cheap and convenient can get most of your food shopping here
Nice place to shop and also items are sold at fair prices
Get most things here. Shelves continuously filled. Clean.
An acceptable version of the group, good at what it does.
Good selection of items but some items are overpriced
Bad attitude. Bad service mind. Bad behavior. Rude.
Nice place to buy what ever needed with good prices
Good quality good choices reasonable prices love it
It's ideal for doing any shopping on the way home
Cheap price, mediocre quality, always crowded!
Good quality items that are reasonably priced
Good produce easy to navigate round the shop
Find this branch cramped not well laid out
Very crowed, couldn't find what l wanted.
Best spot for really affordable items.
Easy shopping seven days a week …
Great store and prices are very good

It was too busy and helpful staff
