Dear Allbirds, I recently purchased my first pair and only pair of Allbirds this summer on-line, and when they arrived I found out that they were too small. Before I could return them, I was called out of the country for work, and when I returned, I heard that you were opening a new flagship store in Hayes Valley. With that new's I decided to wait to exchange them in person at the new store. I went up this Sunday, ...the new Hayes Valley store was great, I tried on a few pairs and styles and found a pair that I really liked. However, when I went up to exchange my shoes, and apply it to the purchase of the Allbirds I had just tried on, I was told that I was past the 30 day return date. Leaving me stuck with a brand new pair of shoes in the originally packaging, that I can't wear, despite you still selling this same exact shoe in the store. The sales associate told me sorry - No if's and's or but's. I find this deeply frustrating, that I waited specifically to visit your new store, only to find that since I waited, that I was now past the 30 day exchange window. I was left with a new pair of ~$100 dollar shoes that didn't fit and I couldn't return - even though exact the shoe was still being sold at that store. The sales clerk curtly told me that if I wanted I could "donate" the new pair of shoes to the Allbirds donation program I could- since I couldn't wear the shoes...I donated them and walk away deeply disappointed and frustrated. I went out of my way to try and buy a pair of Allbirds, but instead, I lost $100, wasted 1.5 hours of my time driving up to your store from the peninsula/parking/trying on shoes only to leave empty handed.

Really bad service. Treated as if we were there to steal their stuff when my wife was trying a couple of them. We already have 2 pairs of shoes and all 4 shoes have holes near the big toe. When i asked the sales person in the store, they mentioned that other customers stick duct tape inside the shoe if we decide to buy a new one as this is a common issue. I spent $120 for a pair of shoes that didn't last more than 7months. They are surely comfortable but in the name of sustainability it is unacceptable to provide low quality material. This rating is for both poor service in this store and for the shoe in general.

This review is not about the products, but the experience I had when I visited. I walked in right in front of another customer (older white guy who looked "richer") and immediately I was forgotten. I had never been to the store so i wanted to ask how i can try on a shoe but two employees immediately tended to the other customer and asking him what they could help him with. I had to walk around the store for a few minutes and then proactively hunt down an employee to assist me. If you have a choice to go the store in Jackson Square (much friendlier and helpful)

The store is very spacey, the staff are amazing super nice and friendly not to mention helpful. The staff really know their products and they don't even try to up sell and make sure you are and will get what you want. I was told to wait for a few weeks for the true black tree runner since that is the color I want and prefer. One of the staff told me about the Navy blue tree runner and was able to bring me a sample of the shoe. I end up buying one at the store and one have to be order. Oh and the shoes are light and comfortable as hell.

He comprado unas zapatillas Women's Tree Dasher 1, en obsidian (Black Sole) y estoy muy satisfecha. Son de gran calidad, realmente ecológicas a nivel alto, muy bonitas, cómodas incluso para mis pies difíciles (con plantillas, anchos y delicados). El servicio perfecto. Compré un número demasiado grande y me lo han devuelto gratis en un tiempo razonable. El producto venía de Holanda (yo vivo en España), es decir, el transporte era relativamente cercano y menos contaminante. Muchas gracias. ¡Me gustan mucho!

I had the most AMAZING experience with this store! I ordered a hoodie to be shipped to me on the East coast. There was a delay with shipping and Nina was kind enough to upgrade me to FedEx 2day. Celine, the manager, even assured me that if it didn’t get picked up Friday she’d mail it herself! She also called to let me know when it was picked up. Allbirds is lucky to have these two wonderful employees! Great customer service like this doesn’t exist anymore. I highly recommend this store!!!

Terrible service today. Both guy and girl were super rude and unhelpful. I went in to exchange sandals and they acted as if I was thief because I didn't have a receipt. The sandals were a gift and wanted a smaller size. They even grabbed my sandals and put them on the counter like they didn't want to give them back. Awful experience. Ah and just read a similar review from 7 months ago. I guess you striving to give good experience is failing miserably.

Shoes and service! This local manufacturer has a great line of walking shoes, responsibly sourced from renewable plant materials. Who would have thought! This is NOT your grandmother's hippy-dippy craft market. All-Birds are sleek, branded, researched products built to last. On our stop in, things weren't fitting just right. The sales associate cheerfully returned the 3 day old shoes, and found us a new better fitting solution. All-Birds +++

Outstanding Customer Service! The shoe styles were perfectly explained and I purchased the best one for my needs. I was told about how environmentally friendly the shoes are, machine washable, and the company’s overall mission. All in a non-aggressive manner. I’ll be back for sure! I even loved the way they poke holes in the box and use a shoelace for a handle to avoid wasting paper or plastic bags.

Love the shoes, but the lady who looked (or acted) as manager at the Hayes store was rude and unhelpful. And then rude again and ignored me. Someone else, a much nicer guy tried to make up for it, which I appreciated (and told him so). Seems they are too cool for customers? Not a good experience for sure. Most likely, won’t ever go again. The other store in SF is much more friendly.

I like Allbirds, and have purchased from them a bunch. The store in Hayes Valley, though, has not been the greatest in terms of sales staff, in my experience. I’m not sure if the team is unhappy to work there or if I caught them every time having a bad day. I hope my review and the reviews of others can reach the appropriate people in charge to make a change.

Awesome service - they made returning something so simple without any questions. Wound up exchanging for a new pair of shoes and got some cool extras to boot (no pun intended). Easy to shop there during Covid and staff was great. Worth going into the store to try stuff on as the fits can vary between shoes & materials.

AllBirds, your store policies make no sense and create a needless hassle for your customers. If you are sold out in my size and your other location has it, then ship it to me instead of making me go across town! Also, the Asian chick with the bob has an attitude problem. Everyone else was nice, everyone but her.

It was really nice to be able to visit the store and check out the shoes. The customer service was excellent. The staff was able to answer my questions and help me find a shoe that would work for me. I recommend visiting the store if you're looking to buy or try the shoes.

Have been buying their shoes for a while now, mostly on line, was really excited to see a store close to from where I live, so I did go by to check what they had and yes as usual landed up buying the sliders, just to comfortable to have let them go.

Nice service. I like the environment approach for the shoes. I was offered to carry a bag for the shoes without taking the box, great. Still need to try them. Did not yet go for the running shoes (drop above my usual standard, 4-6mm at most)

One of the store workers grew up near our family and we made some wonderful connections with understandings of place and space. The staff was knowledgeable and cared about "sustainable fashion". We left without purchasing due to price.

Shoes look nice and feel soft, but they make my heel bleed when I wear them. 30 day return policy, so be careful. I thought they’d wear in and missed a return opportunity. Will be trying a different brand next time.

They literally had no shoes in my size (10, men's). You'd think a flagship store would actually have shoes in stock, but the staff said things are only available online. This shop is pointless.

I had to return a pair of shoes and the people who helped me were great! They processed my return in a timely manner and asked if I needed help with anything else.

Five staff members, no other customers and it was still impossible to get assistance. I almost felt rude interrupting their conversations to ask for my size.

Friendly greeting when arrived at store.. Exchanged shoes for larger size. No questions, just fast courteous and responsive service.
