On Sept 2, 2017 at about 4:45pm, I visited this store. After walking in, I'd asked a sales/service clerk (A young Asian women, about 5'-9" tall) if the windbreakers I was looking at there, were the only ones they'd had, and that I was looking for a red one. She said, "These are what we have." I said, "OK. Thanks. I was looking for a red one.". She said, "No red ones here. But, you can check the internet. The internet is your friend.". I said, "It sure is." and made my way out. In a retail store, telling someone to check the internet feels unwelcoming. Also, to have a store employee tell me that the internet is my friend, comes across as insulting to my intelligence, like I must be an idiot in her mind, an idiot who doesn't know about the internet or that one can shop on it. I left feeling unwelcome, feeling like a bourdon and feeling that she believed I was too stupid to know how to make use of my PC. She was in her early to mid 20s, I'd guess and slightly heavy, in case management is interested in making correction/training this person in customer service/relations. Other than for this, the store looked great and I was glad to see that they still sell the checkered slip on sneakers I used to wear when I was a skateboard kid here in The City. Oh, come to think of it, if her manner was better, I may have ended up walking out with a pair, even though I was there to get a jacket. -Steve G., San Francisco (please pardon any possible typos or poor grammar)

Never went to vans at all before but today I did because I decided to start skating. When I called the store up to make sure they sell complete updates the staff (a guy but never got his name:( ) was really nice & told me I can come on down! & when I was there he gave me tips on the boards & reccomended me some. the cashier was just as nice when she reccomended a tool for my skateboard! All at an affordable price!! Love this I reccomend, will go back for sure if I need parts & shoes

Lots of shoes to choose from. Kids women men. Rather large store with huge inventory of items. If you're looking for all things VANS stop in here. Including skateboards, hardware & gear. They don't sell stickers though, unfortunately. Nice staff. ADA accessible. This is inside the mall. Mall parking is ok. Public transit close by with many options both SamTrans & SFMuni.

Awesome spot. I didnt know this place was here since I got my Van's at Journey's. I loved the store so full of cool looking shoes. I plan to go back soon. I am a new Van's shoe buyer and I now love my shoes. The staff are friendly and helpful to assist you. The colors and bright patterns were appealing to look at. Go get you some great comfy shoes. Vans shoes used to be better looking before. They ruined it today with the new thin looks. I was expecting the fast shoes with large ribbons before I got in, then I was surprised with the results. Although, they have good clothing options but with very very high prices. Staff was energetic and lively, and you get greeted with good vibes on your way in.

If your in the 25 and under crowd this place is for you. Unfortunately I'm twice that and out of touch so was not my cup of tea. BUT - my son who is 16 loves this place and finds it very trendy. 4 stars only because they are chronically understaffed

@Frisco duck I was in the store today after already reading your review and that chick said the same thing to a customer "the internet is amazing!" followed by "not to be rude, but it's true" Pretty insincere and lightweight condescending.

At the Vans store they are so helpful when you need sizes, socks anything. The shoes are so awesome and comfortable they are always worth the price. I love that if they don't have what you ask for they will order it to the store asap.

Vans costumer service was the best. The shoes I ordered online was stolen in the lobby of our Apartment and when I called them and told them what happened. They send me another pair of shoes with no cost. Kudos and thank you …

Patrick and Will were very friendly and helped me and my friend find shoes that we liked, and even though the shoes didn't fall under the sale we were looking at they got us a discount on them anyways!

The people work here were extremely rude and almost like getting upset that I am asking questions( as if its not their job to reply). I was not satisfied with the experience.

Staff was very nice, but their back of house stock seemed limited. I'm not an unusual size, and both pairs of shoes I pulled were unavailable in my size.
