Overall, I'm giving Baileys a 4/5. When we arrived, there was no one to greet us downstairs, and we did not know where to go as this was our first time here. We finally ventured upstairs and found the other person that we were meeting, sitting down already. We weren't greeted at all for quite some time, and then when we were greeted, we were asked, "Do you want anything from the bar?" Not a hello, how are you or anything like that? No welcome. It was very busy there. I think every table was full and I think there were parties in the separate rooms, but I'm not sure. We were waiting for more of our party to arrive so we were fine with just sitting there. I didn't see it on the menu, but I ordered a red wine sangria, and it was very good. When our other company arrived, they were also not greeted with hello or welcome but asked if they wanted something to drink. We waited quite some time again to order. The waiter that we had was an older gentleman he was nice, and then there was one other older gentleman wearing a suit,he was quite helpful. We didn't get to know their names. We finally got our meals and when these were coming out the waiter was more friendly, was letting us know that our meal would be up in a few minutes and mentioned that now that it was less busy he would be more attentive I think he said. (Something along those lines) I ordered a wedge salad and scallops appetizer for my meal. When my scallops came, they were quite dark. And when I was eating them, they were very dry and overcooked. They did have good flavor, and with the mushrooms, we're good, but I did have to remove some of the scallop from my mouth because I couldn't chew it. The rest of my party enjoyed their meal very much and we also really liked the bread. We weren't even aware that there was bread until someone mentioned it. It wasn't the waiter, though, that mentioned it. They were very attentive on bringing the drinks, so that was good while we waited. It was my birthday party dinner so I didn't want to send back any food. Overall, I really enjoyed the evening. I was also given a complimentary piece of cake with a candle for my birthday. That was very nice.For three of us, it came to about $200 with a tip and beverages in there as well. So, for a more upscale place, it was a decent price. Was a very memorable birthday Thank you. Went for my GF birthday first September. The guy who took us to out table was trying too hard to be funny. I had reserved a specific table that we had sat at twice before so I asked him where he was seating us, "in the dungeon" he replied and laughed out loud, following up with more too friendly jovial words while seating us. Sorry but a server at high end British restaurant doesn't need to be a comedian. He was soon quietly told by a senior server to do something else and a new server arrived. He was very green, over apologetic after spilling some wine and was so nervous, mainly due to a lack of training, that he made us nervous. He did not know the menu. Any questions we asked caused him to have to go the kitchen and return with the answer. Has very polite and tried very hard but was clearly not ready to be serving The meal was flavorful but the portions were disappointing. I had the rack lamb which is very expensive. it was tasty and cooked probably but the portions were very small compared to other times I have had it. I left the restaurant feeling like I needed to go somewhere and get something more to eat after that dinner. Prices are up slightly, portions down. This is unfortunately the norm in Winnipeg this past year. I'll be eating at home until the hospitality industry gets a hold of itself. They aren't hurting that badly anymore and if they are it's because of the above.

It had well over 15 years since my wife and I had dined at Bailey's . I wasn't sure what to expect but kept an open mind. From the second we walked in the front door, we were made to feel like Kings and Queens. I'm absolutely blown away at the attention to detail the staff showed, which is very rare in today's world. Our waiter Patrick went so far above and beyond his position, he should be serving Kings and Queens. He is such a valuable asset to this business. We came hungry and with Patrick's desire to provide an excellant dining experience , and his amazing knowledge of in-house products , well we left totally fulfilled and even had some take home, yummy. . I cannot stress enough that If you want the Dining experience of a lifetime. Then forget the rest and dine at Bailey's. You will not regret it. So impressed with our experience and we will be back k. Our dining experience at Bailey’s was one of the highlights of our Canadian holiday. The atmosphere and beauty of this historic building lured us in, the staff and incredible food brought us back. Start your evening in the cozy lounge with bartender Stewart. He was attentive, friendly and delivers drinks both tasty and with a generous amount of alcohol. He gave us a little history and tour of the elegant restaurant. He set us up with a reservation for the following evening. Stewart also had great suggestions for the dinner menu. Marco was our server for an unforgettable dinner, we decided to try the Ultimate dinner for 2. The warm fresh baked bread and salad was the beginning of perfection! The dinner then consisted of 2 lobster tails, 2 prime filet steaks, prawns, scallops and chicken skewers along with vegetables and rice. Marco was professional and always attentive of our needs. If only we were near by to enjoy this restaurant weekly. Prices are so reasonable and the food is amazing! You will never regret trying this restaurant, 5 stars is an understatement.

Absolutely wonderful experience. Beautiful decor, top notch 5 star service, and the food was delicious and expertly made. Meat was perfectly cooked, seafood was delicious and also cooked excellently. Soup was wonderful as we're the salads. All four courses we had were executed incredibly and unfortunately we didn't have room for desert. I was stuffed. Will hopefully have room for desert next time, which there definitely will be a next time. Our server was very friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable. On this occasion we had time to chat and he was happy to take the time to make us feel special. Went over and above, as did the kitchen, bar and front of house staff, just to let us know we were welcome and appreciated. I can't say enough about how great they made our experience. Will definitely be returning and I am really looking forward to it. Thank you to all their staff for a wonderful dining experience!!!

Absolutely wonderful in every way. We celebrated a milestone anniversary here and the food and the service were beyond compare! The ambiance is beautiful. The high back chairs were delightfully comfortable. We enjoyed “The Feast” a dinner for two that consisted of fillet mignon (cooked to your specifications perfectly), two lobster tails, shrimp, scallops and chicken souvlaki. We started out with a lovely garden salad with delicious creamy cucumber dressing and rolls that were mouthwatering. We had a choice of rice or potato but we chose potato and they were decent. We also picked the seasonal vegetables. Paired with a lovely bottle of wine… dinner was perfection! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this restaurant to anyone and I can’t wait to come back! PS my picture doesn’t do this lovely meal justice.

I've been visiting Bailey's for nearly a decade now, having first started frequenting it when I worked across the street, and then less as my job took me to different parts of Winnipeg. However while in the neighborhood recently I was able to stop in for a drink and was delighted to find it is almost exactly the same as I remembered it. As always, the staff is amazing, the service is excellent, and a smooth refreshing drink that's made perfectly all make for a perfect evening. I haven't felt so relaxed and at ease while out for a drink in many years, and it is that atmosphere of professional bartenders, exceptional service, and quietness, that help put your day's troubles behind you. By far my favourite place to unwind, it isn't just a "bar" or a "tavern", or a "pub". It is an experience, and a must for anyone who lives in Manitoba, or visits Winnipeg.

We held a Celebration of Life in the Winter Garden Room at Bailey's Thanksgiving Monday. Manager John and Server Marco attended to every detail to truly ensure the gathering exactly met and exceeded our expectations. The room is elegant, and it's detailed beauty was perfect for our intimate goodbye and tribute. The suggestions for the menu, subsequent preparation and setting added to a truly special afternoon. Every guest was awed by the excellent catering and service, especially the individual deliverance of a plated piece of cake, which honestly, we were unsure how we (family) were going to serve. We cannot thank you John, Marco and staff enough for helping us create a beautiful Celebration of Life for our family member. It was a wonderful afternoon and tribute only made possible by you! This was our first time visiting this restaurant and it didn't meet my expectations. Small portions for a high price. I understand that the building is old but it's no excuse for the lack of cleanliness. Some of the chairs have old stains and same goes for the carpet. Large mirror looks like it hasn't been cleaned in a long time. The lighting needed to be turned up a but more and I did see a dimmer switch so it could be done. My waiter was awesome and kept us happy. Food wasn't to bad but the soup was served in a tiny bowl, if you could call it a bowl. Food needs more veggies and more potatoes. So in my opinion, this place is only good for 1 visit and that's it. $$$$$ for a place that is in my opinion a 2 star

Waited close to 2 hours for our food. Several customers walked out after waiting. Worst old fashioned cocktail I ever had anywhere in the country. Nice place. They could probably do better all around though. Water was never refilled. My bowl of soup wasn't full. The vegetables were all shredded. I ordered the combo plate. The Souvlaki wasn't anything special. Ribs were mediocre. Lamb was good. I guess the people upstairs had greener money or something. The service in the lounge on a Friday night should be limited to barflys cause they couldn't handle the influx of customers.

Was a great atmosphere, was expecting a little better quality and consistently with the food. Brushectta tasted like I could’ve bought it at the store off the shelf. Oysters were very good. Entree was the seafood platter, everything on it tasted great minus the lobster seemed a tad over cooked. Drinks were made fantastic, was probably the best part of the dining experience besides the architecture of the building itself. Wouldn’t go back for the food just the building and drinks. Dining area coulda also use a cleaning on the top floor, could see dust on the fireplaces

We got the French onion soup, bruschetta and the 12oz filet minion it was soo good very tender and cooked to perfection. It was nice and slow paced you didn’t feel like you were being rushed. I have Stopped in here for a drink a few times now. The beauty of this historic building is second to none. The gorgeous decor complete with period dated furniture is simply amazing! I have not eaten here YET, but I did have the opportunity to review the menu. I was not only surprised by the large selection, but the prices were extremely reasonable. The staff are pleasant and attentive. Anyone looking to have a personal private function, a business meeting or simply a nice meal will not go wrong with this place. Enjoyed my time at Bailey's. It has a cozy, comfy bookstore feel to it, and I sat towards the back in a corner in dim light and read a book. Got a Reuben, steamed broccoli, and a hard cider; everything tasted great. It was a perfect and relaxing evening to a hectic day. Only thumbs down: (you can pick where you sit, which is great, but) the waitress didn't see me for over 10 minutes. Once she took my order she did stop by every once in awhile and was nice, but didn't turn her head very often to check on me as she was serving other tables, so when I was ready to go it took a while for her to notice.

Lovely atmosphere and a must see restaurant! Beautiful decor and architecture! Our waiter Brad (I think that’s what his name was) was amazing and gave us a tour of the building and took photos for us. He offered me a stuffed pepper dish off what seemed to be a catering menu as I am vegetarian and there were limited vegetarian options. The food was great! Good potatoes and house salad too! My one recommendation would be to have more vegan/vegetarian options. This place would be amazing for engagement parties, anniversaries, Valentine’s Day, small weddings, bachelor parties etc as well.

Went here on a Friday night for a nice dinner. Ended up waiting for 2 hours after we ordered, we asked about our food multiple times and we’re lied to about when it was coming. We asked to speak to the manager multiple times and we’re shrugged off. When he finally came out he tried to tell us that they were busy when it was clear they weren’t. He came back out again and told us they had just put our order in. We walked out, Terrible service, please take your business elsewhere.

Excellent place to celebrate our wedding anniversary! Beautifully old and classic building and very nice inside. We had "The Feast" (a combination plate for two) which was delicious and plenty to taste both meat and seafood choices from the main menu. The wine list is thorough and with a variety of choices / prices. Deserts were also fresh and tasteful. Our server was incredibly nice, helpful and polite. She was as attentive as she had to be for the occasion. They had also selected a comfortable table with very nice view of the city for us. We will go back for sure!

Every time we have come here it has been a fantastic experience. Every server we have had the pleasure of meeting has gone above and beyond to provide some of the most fun experiences I've had in restaurants ever. Linda, Jen, and Patrick specifically have always made us feel so welcome and invited, made us laugh, and always delivered exceptional customer service. Cannot recommend more, do yourself a favour and enjoy a night in at Bailey's.

Haven't been to Bailey's in years but we were celebrating two birthdays so our dinner group of 8 decided to go. First off still a very beautiful looking restaurant, second the place was packed which is always a good sign and third we were not disappointed. The food was great, everyone enjoyed their meals and there is more than enough variety even for the picky eaters. Prices more than reasonable, good bang for your buck, our server was very friendly and efficient. All around a great night out with friends, food and drinks. We will be back.

The service was awesome .food on point and staff made the evening a great one. Will definitely return. I had the lamb and my friend had the steak. We both enjoyed our meals with happy hearts.

I have dined here throughout the years from graduation dinners to weddings and casual dates. Our company recently held our team dinner at Bailey’s and they did not disappoint. The planning went smooth, John (the GM) accommodated so well. Our server, Jen was so friendly and prompt. Drinks flowed nicely and our whole group enjoyed the meal. Highly recommend Bailey’s if you are looking to host a large dinner party. We will definitely be back next year for our next company dinner. Thank you John and staff!

Tried it tonight for the first time through Skip the Dishes. We ordered wings which costs $15 and we picked salt and pepper for extra. We did not expect this much of salt but I guess that’s on us and that is why I did not give 1 star. What bothers me and we throw the wings is there was multiple plastic thread or something, can be something from the feathers were attached to the wings as shown in picture. Did not expect this from a restaurant with great reviews. I am very disappointed.

I was here for a social event on April 25th. I tell you these guys had most rude and poor customer service representative servers. They were actually rude on top of that they had the audacity to ask me to tip them! I am sorry I only tip people who are welcoming and polite to their customers. Also please advice your staff if they have not rec’d tip that is because of their behaviour.

Enjoyed a quick pregame meal before the Jets game, so we ate in the lounge instead of the fancy dining room. I had the Bacon cheese burger and my wife had the Clubhouse sandwich both with fries. The burger was big, tasty and filling, the Clubhouse was also very good. Though I love shoestring fries, mine were too salty. Simply a matter of someone over salting. Service was fine.

What can I say it's just a classy old place with a great sense of history, two very private dining rooms for parties plus old world charm. Some of the best meals I've had in my life have been served up here. The service was excellent and the food cooked to perfection. For those who partake there's an excellent bar with over 30 different varieties of Scotch whiskey.

While the building and its interior are splendid, the food was not. I ordered steak and prawns, the prawns were over seasoned and overcooked. Steak was mediocre, shredded vegetables were nothing to write home about. Nothing stellar, food does not live up to the grand atmosphere. Classy but warm atmosphere, friendly staff and owners. And they really know their way around a steak. Steak joints are often 'meh' and leave me feeling like I overpaid for a mediocre experience. This place may seem expensive on the surface, but when you eat one of those steaks, you know exactly where your money went. Worth every penny and more, this place remains a favorite for me.

I don’t say this lightly - Nora is the absolute best server we have ever had. She gave my family the best serving experience, very friendly, excellent sense of humour, extremely attentive. Huge thanks to whoever made the food this evening as well, absolutely made our evening! If you’re ever dining at Baileys - ask for Nora!

I've always loved coming here for lunch and dinner. The atmosphere is such a vibe with the historical architecture and setting. The food is always delicious and the service is top notch. The service is friendly and efficient (hence the 3 stars). Decor is dated as a few have commented here. Menu has quite a few options. The food was decent when I ate it, however, I got food poisoning shortly after so. The restaurant may consider adding a balsamic glaze or oil to their bruschetta appetizer as it was rather dry and underwhelming.

An institution. Old Winnipeg charm coupled with friendly service, excellent drink menu, and classic & new food options. Decor is old English, darker, lots of wood. Just a very nice place to go if you are looking for quiet and upscale in the Exchange District of Winnipeg.

Their house-made bread is simply delicious. Service is always top notch. And the food is not too bad either. My favourite, surprisingly, because I normally don’t eat it, is their chicken liver appetizer. The ambience is also special. It’s also good for families, and I would say dates as well.

Went to the upstairs dining room for lunch. The staff waitress and food were all excellent. They now have a lift to go upstairs from downstairs bar and lounge. Good bus route but downtown parking not great at noon Very well established and famous for the Reuben sandwich very good experience.

My favourite restaurant in the city. All-star service every time from their kind, attentive, and charismatic servers. They have spaces to fit any mood and occasion. Most importantly their food never disappoints. Some of the best meals I've ever had anywhere were at this restaurant.

Everytime we have a special occasion or we want a fine dining experience, Bailey's is always our go to. Food and service are always fantastic. Bailey's never disappoints.

I love this place, it’s an iconic Winnipeg restaurant! We went for Easter dinner and everything was perfect! The service, decor, food and drinks!! We loved every minute, we will be back!!

Service and decor were good. The food was not good. The servers quickly offered to make it right, but I was in a rush. The only thing that saved lunch was the quality of the waiters. Otherwise, I was very unimpressed.

We sat in the bar area and it was a dark area. The place has an old prestigious bar feeling, which you can see from my photos. I enjoyed the salad and the services was pretty good too.

5 star for service and 2 star for food. Service is amazing. But food is not so well. We order medium rare for our steak. But we got ture black steak. Over cooked and really bitter.

Went here for my birthday in 2020, but forgot to do a review. The food is incredible, not disappointed AT ALL. The staff were all really kind and courteous. Will definitely return.

I was staying at the Fairmont Hotel and, out for a walk, came across an interesting restaurant, Bailey's, between two beautiful heritage buildings. Read the menu outside. Looked good. Went back to the hotel to check out its ratings etc.

Fantastic atmosphere combined with amazing food. We ordered the steal and prawns. The steak was juicy cooked to our specifications along with a tasty house salad. Service was top notch. Has to rank has the best steak house in Winnipeg.

I haven’t been here for a while, I’m still a fan of the classic pub ambiance. Our server was fairly new and was upfront about it regardless he gave us a good service. The food was typical pub food in size portion and price point.

Had fantastic staff at Bailey’s tonight! We were a table of 8, all with completely different items ranging from scallops to a rack of lamb and everyone had a really positive experience.
