Bailey's has been a fairly good health experience with a few caveats. I joined this location two weeks before it opened when it was located two miles down the road. The old location was a little run down, but still had a good atmosphere and enough variety and space to get a good workout. This location is pretty large, but already two weeks into its opening there is still a large portion of the gym closed to patrons that contains cardio equipment. The current cardio section is very nice, but is not large enough for the amount of guests that can visit during busy hours. The current cardio section is also missing some cardio equipment like rowing machines. But when that section does open up it should fix a lot of issues with how busy cardio machines get. The gym floor is very nice and there is tons of new equipment. There is also about three full sets of dumbbells going into the hundreds. There are several flat benches as well as adjustable benches, but the gym decided to bolt these to the ground. While this keeps these benches in their correct place it also makes it difficult to perform certain exercises on them. For example if you are trying to do Bulgarian split squats you may be in the way of someone else. The gym is still pretty clean. You can see staff cleaning during the day and they are very nice. The gym has great AC and a humongous fan that provides ample ventilation. Baileys works on a membership system of which there are three to choose from. I chose the lowest version, but that means I do not have access to their Athletic Room where there is additional equipment and space for more plyometric exercises. I also do not have access to the basketball court which looks beautiful. I don't mind that too much though because I have noticed the basketball court closing fairly early. It is often closed during the weekend and last night I saw them close it up around 730pm. Why pay extra for something that doesn't work around your schedule right? Bailey's stacks up okay with other big box gyms in the area. There are cheaper options and ones that include basketball court use in their membership rate. I would say this is one of the largest negatives of having joined. But the staff is really nice and the main weight room, stretching room, and cardio area are all open 24/7 with a membership card. The atmosphere of the gym is pretty good as well. The amount of traffic has increased since the move, but that is to be expected. I do imagine that New Years and the month after will be pretty horrible in terms of how busy it is. This gym has a wide clientele from bodybuilder competitors to female figure competitors to regular people who come in to use cardio equipment. For the most part guests seem to know gym etiquette and that has been real nice. I bought an item from the pro store the other day and I should warn you that they have a $5 dollar credit card minimum. I wish they had warned me before I had gotten my item. I dislike places that do this so I am probably done buying anything there again, but the staff was nice. They do it to make more money so I get that. I hope the gym stays clean and that they take care of their equipment. This place really offers you a lot of choices to get and stay healthy. Staff has been pretty nice and attentive too. It may not be the best choice for you depending one where in the city you are, but it is definitely worth checking out on a one week guest pass.
Unfortunately after being a member here for almost 10 years and referring many people to their gyms, I am leaving Bailey’s on such a negative note. After reading through all of the other negative reviews, it appears that the biggest issue this company has is greed. I would not recommend joining this gym, they are a greedy business and do not care about their customers. They pride themselves in being a local gym, however they do not operate like such. I had to cancel my membership due to moving out of town. I am no longer in a contract and have been paying monthly. I gave notice to cancel but was informed that it needed to be a 30 day notice prior to the next billing cycle. Unfortunately, I was a few days off from that, so I asked that they would prorate it for December. They refused and said I would be charged the entire month as it was “policy”. As a local business, I know that they have the ability to make exceptions to the rule but clearly they are a greedy business and want the extra money. The front desk at this location was extremely rude and unprofessional when I asked them to please work with me, and to no surprise so was the corporate office. They do not care about their loyal clientele and have made it very evident here. I took matters to the BBB because truly this is just bad business, however they couldn’t even be bothered to respond to my complaint there. I accepted the fact that I would unfortunately have to pay for another month even though I gave ample notice and won’t physically be there, so I asked if they would at least let me lower my package from platinum to a basic package. The front desk told me I would need to call corporate to make that request since I already moved and cannot come in person to do it. The corporate office would not lower my membership package and instead told me I was trying to “beat the system” when I made this request. This comment was extremely inappropriate and uncalled for. It’s honestly a shame, up until this I had nothing but great things to say about this company. Now I’m leaving with the most bitter taste in my mouth and it is truly upsetting. As a local business, do better.
Considering how new this location is, I expected much better when I joined about 4 months ago. Negatives: •Equipment isn't thoroughly cleaned every night like it should be- I don't think it's thoroughly cleaned once a week either. •No enforcement of floor rules such as re-racking weights, allowing other members to work in on a machine if you're using multiple machines to do a circuit, etc. •There are several pieces of equipment in need of repair/maintenance and they've been this way for months. For example, many of the leg weight machines have leaning/bent pieces or missing rubber padding on the foot rests that could actually cause a serious back injury. Been that way for months. The cardio equipment takes 4-6 weeks to get repaired. Just no urgency to keep things in working order. •There is no area of the gym that is accessible all day for exercises like lunges, glute bridges, box jumps, etc. The stretch room doesn't have space or equipment and the other rooms are restricted by classes or locked doors. I don't know many women that want to do glute bridges in front of the dumb bell racks. A lot of women in the locker room talk about going back to the Y because of this. •Women's locker room can get pretty gross. Again, doesn't seem like they have a cleaning team come often enough... or they come, but do poor quality work. Positives: •The front desk staff are very nice. •Rates are fair given the difficulty of getting on the equipment in busy hours. •Free WiFi access so you're not burning up your mobile wifi to play your Spotify workout playlist. • When in working order, the equipment is very nice. • There is a wide array of equipment, so you can work every single muscle individually. • If you pay for a plan that gives you access to instructor-led classes, there are some really good ones. • Convenient location even when you're heading there during rush hour. •The general area of the gym is open 24/7. •Key card access at the front door- this does make me feel more safe when I workout really late at night.
Horrible customer service and unsanitary. This is the beach Blvd / St. John’s bluff location. I had an issue back in June where they allowed a member to exercise with open wounds on her legs with nothing covering them. She wasn’t cleaning machines and I’m surprised she was not stopped before coming into the gym. Huge infectious disease risk. I told the manager (Alex) about the patron and asked what their policy on open wounds was. He replied with “they must be covered”. I pointed out the girl and said I was leaving and disappointed at the conditions. I called 2 hours later to see if the issue was resolved in which the reply was “we gave her a bandaid”. I returned the following day to try and cancel my membership because I felt Baileys gym was not holding up their end of the contract of having a clean and sanitary gym as well as respectful patrons of those rules. The front desk called the VP, to which he would not speak to me (I could hear him through the phone), and I was told no incident report was filed. I also would have to pay the rest of the year (4 months) even though I told them I would not like to continue using their services and that I could cancel after that. The front desk provided no information on how to escalate the issue and drove me away when I asked. It wasn’t until I persistently called and emailed that a representative called me, not even addressing the problem, but instead to almost appease me with no solution. This was the first week of July. They said they’d call the other member and get back to me AND NEVER DID. Not only did they allow people to have open wounds on machines, but they do not follow through in regards to safety and sanitation. I saw people with their shoes off all the time as well and not wiping down machines. Just gross. I’m not wasting any more money here.
I do not recommend going into a contract here as they are definitely money hungry and bad business etiquette with customer service !!!!! To began I was not told the “exact truth” but lied to by Javier of the St. John’s location last year about what I was able to do with my membership I had been paying for. Told me I can down size my plan if I decide later I did not want to do the 53.95. (which is fine) because he was atleast polite so I wrote it off as bad communication. I called corporate back in July and they were to update my card and charged me ridiculous 30.00 and 20.00 fees. The front staff . Can’t fix anything. Nor want to. Then a $30 rebuttal fee is assessed. Sooner than later if this can’t be resolved. I’m going to have to cancel my debit card to stop payments for cheating and stealing of a “business”. The young man Steven was EXTREMELY Rude!!!!! Word of advice for the front desk guy and to whom it concerns at the front don’t lie to the wrong person and learn to be NICE and friendly to your customers we pay your bills!!!! Stop getting them in a contract because you lied. So unprofessional. Also, management need to STOP taking up for your workers that are wrong. I pay over 60.00 a month and barely come and the customer service is the reason why. Yes this. New gym and look nice and all but it is nothing if your customer’s service suck!!! Word of advice respect is due to all!!! And stop robbing people with these unrecognizable charges!!!!!
Equipment is quite nice, and people are friendly but I have to admit, this is a terribly money hungry company. I continue to be paying for services I am not using. They clearly threaten with suing and debt collectors in their contract (I've never seen such a brutal contract from any other gyms) and they also only provide an extremely short window of cancelation (I believe 24 hours) or else you are subject to paying absolutely everything for the year or however long you have down even if you don't use their facilities. The only excuse you have is a very well documented doctors note (which there has to be sufficient proof you wont be able to use the vast majority of equipment) or proof that you move something like 25 miles away from the nearest facility. I wanted to cancel because of my recent financial hardships (and not using the gym for a long while) and they won't let me and say it's to ensure the company gets all your money no matter what, that was their only reasoning. There is absolutely no room for understanding, no matter what. How terrible... LA fitness and Planet Fitness are some of the best gyms I've used in comparison, they would never do something like this and are very transparent and have fair/great cancelation policies. I won't recommend Baileys to anyone unless they fully understand the contract and have money to spare.
The gym and equipment is immaculate, and I’ve never had a negative interaction with a staff member. My gym membership fee was charged monthly to my credit card. My card number was stolen, and the bank canceled the card and sent me a new card with a new number. During this 5 day period, Bailey’s Gym attempted to process the monthly charge. The transaction was rejected due to the cancellation of the card number Bailey’s had on file. Bailey’s Gym notified me by mail rather than using the email or phone number they had in my membership records. I came into the Bailey’s location and settled the issue on the NEXT business day after receiving the notification by mail. Bailey’s insisted on charging me a $20 fee for the declined transaction. The employee I interacted- who was absolutely professional- called the corporate office in my presence and was informed they would not waive the fee. It’s $20. I’ll live. The manner in which Bailey’s Gym handled the matter was unprofessional to the point of absurdity. It’s very difficult to believe that a company that conducts business in this manner can be trusted to do the right thing in virtually any circumstance. I would strongly caution anyone considering a membership to bear this in mind when providing a credit card number for auto-paying the monthly dues.
I go almost every day- nothing else to say. I finally made the upgrade from a different gym and this place is solid when I lived in Jacksonville. I will say this is a great gym, however, make sure you know what you’re getting into. Its much more corporate then it seems. They are not going to tell you its a $50 cancellation fee, yes $50. I left the gym because I moved, and they told me its a relocation fee? So they charge $50 to cancel and they aren’t located outside of Jacksonville . I could understand a fee but $50 is insane. That’s more than the monthly membership. DO NOT go here if they say you have to enter a contract. I was clearly not made aware. I really think that should be mentioned when you sign up. I had nothing bad to say about this place but the fees are ridiculous. Know what you’re getting into. It’s clearly a greed ridden company. I paid my fee, have a good day. Why can’t We part ways? I seriously just can’t believe this gym or its policies. I diligently paid the cancellation fee, sent in proof that I moved, i even sent in a bank statement and they said my account was sent to collections and I never blocked them from charging me. So even if you try to prove you relocated they don’t accept that which is flat out wrong. Good gym, bad policies
I would Have never had a problem with this Bailey’s location however I got in contact with a rude customer agent that worked at the cashier Steven that was very rude and try to find every reason that he was not instead of apologizing. I do not like when people mess with my money because my credit is important to me and I did not like the way it was handled and ridiculous unnecessary charges on 30.00 applied to my account!!! I did not like the customer service at all !!!! Normally the front staff is nice but this guy was not customer service friendly one bit!!! The manager tried to clean everything up but he was in the back so he was not able to hear the situation at hand but at least he was trying to explain. The woman at the register was nice and went to explaining so I paid although the unnecessary charges of 30.00 did not add up, but atleast she was nice and patient. The other manager was nice too but I have zero tolerance of rude customer service so that young man needs to learn to be more polite, not talk down to customers and saying Sorry or apologize when you are in the wrong!! I always loved my gym but this whole situation made me wish I was not in contract!!! Atleast grateful for the lady at the register that understood how I felt.
I am posting this at every Bailey's branch website so citizens will be aware of how Bailey's gym treats their paying customer. The Manager Baymeadows/Philips Highway who is a man is arrogant. When I signed up they knew my disabled child is 13. No one bothered to tell me they will not accept her age group at the day care despite the fact that her mind is that of a 6 year old. I signed up for $37.43 per month precisely for the child care so I can exercise in peace. Had I known they would not take her I would never have signed up. This arrogant manager said it's policy and there is nothing they can do and I stuck with my contract. I made the mistake of signing up for 2 years!!! The equipment at this particular branch on Parental Home road is old and one is always broken down for repair. I truly hope one of these days they will lose their monopoly of Jacksonville. Bring back Gold's gym or build more LA fitness. Give these people a run for their money. Local is not always better. Do not sign up with Bailey's. Any branch. You are better off at Planet fitness or LA Fitness. No i don't wrk for either of these other gyms. But you'll thank me later if you heed my advise.
I do not recommend going into a contract here as they are money hungry and bad business etiquette. First off, I was lied to by Javier of the St. John’s Bluff location about what I was able to do with my membership I had been paying for. Then when I tried to cancel due to relocation they wanted me to pay a fee (which is fine) but I have to prove my proof of address and other personal information that honestly isn’t a gyms business. I asked them if I could transfer my account to my wife so I could pay the remaining balance. They said no. They would rather have $50 instead of 300, so how smart are they? I called corporate and they are useless. Can’t fix anything. Nor want to. Then a $30 rebuttal fee is assessed. I’m going to have to cancel my debit card to stop payments for this joke of a “business”. Word of advice for the front desk guys, don’t lie to the wrong person and get them in a contract because you lied. So unprofessional. Also, we got our bike stolen outside and Trevor claimed he did a report for us. We got the bike back and asked them to take off the report. NO REPORT. He lied too! Why lie? Just do your freaking job. LIARS!
Very disappointed, I have been going to baileys for about 4 years. At the start they were ok with grunting, dropping weight for example when on the dumbbells' bench or when deadlifting heavy, I was able to push myself and workout hard. But things have changed and this gym is becoming a PLANET FITNESS. The manager gave me an attitude told me "i dont care about what your going to say i'm the manager and you have to listen to me" my friends were there with me and heard it all. He was even following us to see if we would grunt or "drop weights" or if any of us had a bag with us after and to see if we were going to take a shirtless pic. This gym is not the gym it used to be and I quit and if you want to go to planet fitness go there, it's cheaper than this gym. I brought them about 10 members and got an attitude from management. most of those members left now after I did. Not going ever again.
Gym is decent Womens area is not being used heavily and as a result the main floor gets waaay to crowded. Last night (wednesday), almost every seat, machine and box were 2 deep....some were 3 deep. That was ridiculous. Hardly worked up a sweat. Noticed that about 25% of the people on the main floor were women. However, there were only 2 women in the women's area. The same equipment are in both areas. I suggest the womens area be opened for ALL members...not just women. Better yet, put some boxing bags or battle ropes back there for ALL to use. Or move something else back there. Squat boxes, benches, etc. If things don't get better, I will probably move to another gym. I know it is first of year 'rush' bit this has been building for a while now. Glad to see the gym being successful, but right now, it's not allowing me to be successful.
Gym is nice but this place has several issues. 1)You pay a premium membership fee to access the basketball court and athletic training room. This gym is suppose to be 24hr access. As someone who’s been on the night shift, I can’t access the basketball court because they lock it up so I’m not able to use what I’m directly paying for…sad. 2)The athletic training room includes equipment which should already be part of the basic plan (deadlift platform, sleds, etc). They close this athletic room to have classes in the morning on the weekend with just a few people occupying it. Members show up, looking to be able to use the room… Members should have access to what they pay for, otherwise, why am I paying a premium for these? For these reasons, 3 star. Very disappointed.
Went in and tried to check in 2 guests (which i’ve done previously at other locations) but was told this is not allowed, which is fine, but was trying to find a solution and an older blonde lady and a younger lady were extremely unhelpful and rude from the beginning, trying to tell us to go talk to someone else and mocking the other baileys locations for “never doing their job right”. finally after minutes of trying to see how to get the extra guest in they say at the end that we can just pay $10 for the extra guest. i had told them next time they should just lead with that because I have no problem paying $10 as i’m sure others wouldn’t. they then called US rude when we were just trying to go workout. Definitely going to other locations next time.
I paid my membership fees through the COVID pandemic because I signed a 3 year contract. I just spoke with Baily's corporate to ask if I could cancel my contract 8 months early because I've paid 13 months for services I couldn't use. The answer I received from the manager was that because the locations were open I have no recourse. This company doesn't care about people. Please reference every other 1 star rating. I know that my review will do nothing to affect a company this large. My only hope is that at least 1 person reads this review and chooses not to give money to this despicable company.
Bad customer service, Miguel at the front desk very rude and I don’t appreciate people talking down or snapping at me. I’m a patron of this gym and I pay my membership. I was with a girl a couple weeks earlier and she misplaced her key card and got a replacement no charge. I came in to receive a replacement and I was told their was a charge and when I informed him I was never aware of this, he began to be very rude and had no explanation on when the policy started. I will no longer go to that particular location. FYI I wasn’t rude back or got in to a disagreement with him I just kept it moving.
Filthy. Gym is always dirty. Bathrooms are disgusting. Dead roaches. The equipment is not kept well. It's really not up date, cables are worn. Gym Members here are really not the friendly type. I was personally verbally insulted multiple times by other members of Bailey's. All the while not even speaking a word to these other members before hand... Classy joint... Over all... I wouldn't pay Bailey's a penny to go t o their ratty gyms. $35 month GTFO . Bailey's is an embarrassment to the entire fitness industry. Especially to the name Powerhouse Gym. GFY Bailey's! Thanks! Crooks!
Incredible gym. Has a good variety including a multitude of free weights. Very clean and well maintained facilities. This gym is never too busy so you can avoid waiting times and crowds. It is a good gym if you're looking for somewhere to get serious workouts in. The new management & staff are extremely helpful and full of knowledge. They greet everyone and converse with all their customers in a professional and friendly way. The new personal trainers are awesome, I highly encourage meeting with one of them! Overall this gym is wonderful, local place to have a membership with.
Overall good. I wish they would enforce the rule on Not resting “on the machine” rule as vigilantly as the “No gym bag rule” Particularly at peak hours where some people sit on the machines texting between sets, this hogging the unit for 10 minutes. They definitely need more showers and lockers The athletic training room is good. I do boxing &/or MMA drills interspersed with lifts and jumping rope. Too often non-platinum members sneak in and crowd the place. With this virus thing, gyms are going to suffer a lot. I hope there no billing as they are closed. We’ll see!
Younger blonde girl- working with older woman, extremely rude. Terrible customer service. Not even a smile, tone of voice was just not welcoming. Working at the front desk, you should be extremely pleasant with great customer service. My sister's and I was literally asking questions about the 7-day group work-out, free trial that they are advertising online, and the younger blonde girl responded as if we were a bother. Literally caught her rolling her eyes and giving us a side eye. If you are unhappy with your job, just leave. Don't recommend this location.
Small, but has what you need. Probably 4 stars until the desk person prevented me from having a guest because it was 3 minutes past 1600. She said, "Gosh you just missed it"... She scurried out two minutes later. Clearly just didnt want to stay an extra few minutes. Thanks for going the extra mile Baileys. Quick follow up! Came back today and with my guest 15 minutes before 1600 (work on Saturdays) Yay! Im good! Annnd I am informed it needs to be 30 minutes before close. The manager (dark haired small dude) was supremely unhelpful.
They are trying to implement a no gym bag policy for “safety” but do not provide lockers with BUILT IN locks. What about personal property safety ? Say all the lockers are taken, what then ? Leave any valuables like money and Id in my vehicle ? What about if I’m a specialty athlete and I have certain items in my bag for special training. Should I drag those around the gym outside of a bag ? Other gyms have lockers with built in locks, there’s no excuse not to install these if you’re trying to implement a mandatory policy.
Went in last night to workout with my boyfriend and he had forgotten his key card to scan in. We stopped at the desk and asked them if they could let him in, an older lady with white hair shook her head and almost made it seem as if we were an inconvenience. The guy working at the desk alongside of her was nice and helpful. This was the 2nd interaction with this lady and both times she’s had an attitude. If you don’t like working at the gym and accepting that accidents happen at times then you should find another job.
Great gym with a lot of variety. Ladies only area that my wife loves, huge strength training and free weight area, great classes, an indoor track, sauna, tanning and the best prices on supplements anywhere. Staff is very helpful and customer service is great despite some other reviews. You have the option to go month to month or do a contract. It is cheaper if you do a contract, so don't be surprised if they expect you to stick to the terms of the contract people! Just like any reasonable person would expect!
This is the premier fitness center in Jax! Affordable, clean, spacious and accommodating for all of your fitness needs. The locations are convenient no matter where you live or work in the area. No need to go anywhere else. The knowledgeable staff, the most up to date equipment and the variety of classes makes it easy to start or continue on your fitness journey. You don’t need to travel from place to place to get in a workout. Everything you need is under one roof at Bailey’s Health and Fitness!
I have been a member since 2016 and I love Bailey's. The management is beyond knowledgeable and they inform me of the cost right out front. They also encourage you to keep on with your training and personal health. Also, the trainers are excellent doing their job and will work with you. I have train with Zach and he explained what is needed to be done in order to get the results I want. The facility is very well kept and the prices are excellent compare to other gym membership with the amenities.
New baileys on point meadows as a member of baileys for 24 years I'm disappointed with the weight lifting equipment. They have NO hammer strength machines. Instead they went with the cheaper matrix machines I'm not happy so I go to a different gym that has better equipment. I am a little angry. They have machines in there that just take up space I have never seen anyone use them. BAILEYS must of got them cheap. Baileys is not what they used to be. But there's not much competition out there.
Sweat PT is a scam. I love how they make up a fake location that is in no way associated with a Bailey’s. Of course I understand that this is a completely separate entity from Bailey’s. But the fact is sweat PT is housed inside of Bailey’s, and their contract is a trap. If you have any personal situation arise in which you need to cancel, They will not let you under any circumstances. They will keep charging you regardless. Do not join Sweat PT. There are hundreds of better options.
Lack of professionalism. was told by an employee that i would have to pay a fee because another employee didnt know what they were doing when signing me up, none of my contact information was in my account and so i was told there was no phone number associated with my account AND THEN told a phone number was on my account that wasnt any number i was familiar with. which is it?? was there no phone number associated with my account or just the wrong phone number?
Ok, let me tell you! I have been a member of a couple of gym and Bailey's on St. John's Bluff Rd and Beach Blvd, has everything that I need to stay healthy, the other gyms did not. The activities, the number of machines and number if free weights, the cleanliness, open 24/7. I literally needed to find a new gym to go to whenever I wanted to, Bailey's makes me feel at home. The staff is one of a kind. That's why I choose Bailey's!!!!!
Not military friendly at all. Complete opposite actually. Rude staff that likes to discriminate and harrass some paying members but not others. Unnecessary sign up fees and lengthy contracts. Personal trainers that harass the females there. Roaches on the ground sometimes. Great equipment though, I'll give them that. Better off going to Crunch, you'll get more for less and the staff will treat you a hell of a whole lot better.
They scam through membership contracts. They tried charging me 70 dollars twice after saying my card payment didn't go through. Even tho they didn't notify me of such thing happening. They didn't send a text or email or nothing. The staff couldn't do nothing about it apparently. I just canceled my card and never came back there ever again. Not worth giving them 140 dollars just because supposedly my card "didn't go through".
I’ve been a member since 2009 and overall have been very happy. Most of their gyms have all the amenities you would need (and more). The rates are not too pricey compared to other gyms. Gyms are clean with updated machines. I wished this location had a child’s play area. Updated 6/26/23: I really like this location at St Johns. Great customer service, clean, and many amenities. Overall, it’s very pleasant place to workout!
Bailey's initially refused to accept my official orders as basis for contract termination. They assured me upon signing up that change of orders would not be an issue, but now are giving me the run around. The gym itself and staff are nice. However, it's not worth the difficulty they give when provided proper documentation. I regret trusting this business and do not recommend them. Just use the gym on base.
I prefer going here at night time there's not as many people. But there's plenty of cleaning supplies to wipe down everything and occasionally there's someone that actually just goes around and wiping down. Really clean place the equipment is in great condition and it's not all beat up. And if you're into watching TV or listening to music they've got that too everywhere. I'd recommend it
This is one of the best gyms in my opinion, and specifically this location or Sunbeam. They are the biggest gym square footage wise which is good for 2020 times. And they are 24 hours. Upstairs cardio gets barely used so good place go avoid people and get your stuff done. Staff is cool with everybody and smoothies are better ingredients and price than smoothie king.
I used to go to Baileys for years but had since switched to a smaller gym. Came in with a friend, and it was as nice as always. The people at the desk welcomed us with a smile when we walked in. The equipment is well maintained. The space was clean. There was a cleaning lady on site cleaning and wiping while we were there, which eased my mind with sharing equipment
Huge fan! I’ve been working out in different gyms across the country for 10+ years and Baileys is by far one of my favorite corporations. The facility is kept clean, equipment is never out of order for more than a day or two if that. They are very diligent. Front desk staff is always friendly. I genuinely love this gym and particularly this location!
Be really careful before signing up. I signed up for 2 years contract, but I had to move out of state after 1 year. I paid $50 penalty, 2 months gym fees, and $50 maintenance fee. You also need to send them proof of new address which I sent twice, but they think these are not sufficient. Now, they sent me another bill($169) because of it.
I’ve been going for 8 years. I love what they’re about and who they are. Sign up at Baileys, you won’t regret it. I think people who are having issues with contracts are truly not reading or understanding what their contract entails. Unfortunately you pay the price if you don’t abide by the fine print that you signed up for so willingly.
Customer service is non-existent. Had a billing issue with them, called the "corporate" office in JAX three days in a row before being able to talk to someone. I really don't know how you're still in business. About gym ... old equipment, dirty and smells like a** inside. Choose another gym, this is a horrible, all the way around.
Good gym, but they close the store at different times to clean due to Covid. Now that's great they do that but they need to stick certain hours of operation for the store. Not randomly close it for their convenience, this is a service industry they work in. The least they can do is put up a sign when they are closing.
Some of the best equipment for your workout needs. Many classes to participate in. Basketball court for excercise and show off skills (I have no skills there). Great air circulation for intense training. Is very motivated place with fit people that are friendly and most willing to help for advice if asked.
You can’t cancel a membership here unless you move 25 miles or more away from ANY bailey’s location. They will not allow cancellation with a fee or anything, they absolutely will not help you at all. Corporate office could care less about their members too. Don’t sign up here, literally go anywhere else!
This gyms Ac is literally always broken and the employees just act like it’s not a thing. Countless people have complained over the years and nothing is ever done. It seems that since they’re planning on moving nothing is done to upkeep the current gym. Including the ac. This place is filthy
I’ve been a member of Bailey’s gym for many years. I’ve been in many Bailey’s and surprisingly this gym (Atlantic Beach)... has the dirtiest bathrooms I’ve ever seen. It’s a shame because they are in a nice location, and they still don’t keep up with the bathrooms, really disappointing!
Love it here first impression is everything. I walked in and was immediately greeted. Couldn’t find the woman’s area so I ask Javier was nice enough to not only walk me there but gave a kinda mini tour super happy with coming to this location making this my home gym. Thanks Javier
I can say from a first hand experience that the owners of Baileys Gym take pride in their establishments. I know that a major part of their operating expense is providing amenities that other gyms do not have and keeping up with the times in regards to modernizing the facility's.
This is hands down my favorite Baileys location, everything is spread out and arranged perfectly. I love the newer full basketball court, the ONLY downside is there is not a single women’s basketball in the basketball court. Staff at this location are super friendly and helpful.
Crappy cancelation policy. I called in month before and they still charged me $64+ because my verbal cancelation wasn't enough back then but it is enough now when my contract is over.... And they are going to charge me one more month for no reason and no refunds. Amazing.
I have been trying to cancel my membership for months due to losing my job to covid I have no money and this gym will not help me at all. I have tried to explain my situation they are money hungry and I will never go into a contract with them again.
Terrible customer service. Will continue to charge your account after you have left the city. After countless emails they will continue to charge you and then try to send you to collections. Do not do business with this joke of a company
Bailey's is a fantastic gym. All the machines, equipment and workout space you could want, along with friendly staff and a nice little gym convenience store at the front with reasonable prices. I always have a great workout at Bailey's!
Conveniently located, but there is no child care service at this location, so you'll have to go a bit farther if that's what you need. Overall clean and helpful staff, although they may not all be familiar with equipment names.
Good gym. Crowded alot but nice staff. Sauna, showers, basketball and athletic room. Just need to buy more equipment (handles for cable movements, there are never enough to go around, and all the basketballs are old)
This is a really nice gym with two nice sections of cardio equipment (treadmills, ellipticals, etc.): one downstairs and one upstairs. Also, plenty of weigh training equipment, classes, smoothie bar, and much more.
Worst location you can go try to open membership for me and my wife the 2 Ladies in the front were very rude and had a bad attitude will not be recommending this gym at all. They need to be taught custumer service
So many bad reviews on how this place is taking their money whenever they feel like it. Wanted to join but thanks to those who took the time to share their bad experiences I changed my mind. My money is solo mio!
Nobody wears their mask in this gym, even the staff can often be seen without a mask or with theirs around their chin. Really disappointing for a place that's supposedly about helping people be healthy.
I love this gym! They have a women's room that is great! They replace things quickly when broken and keep it clean. Only time it gets a little messy is when it's the 24 times and there's no staff.
Although my first gym, it is the best one I could find. The people are respectful, it includes great and various equipments, and the cost is okay. Overall, it's a great community to be a part of.
If I can “cancel anytime” (cause I “paid a registration fee”) then why do I need to give a 30 days notice. Got billed another month and I’m not even going to be in the state for the next month.
They have all that you need to workout with, if it isn't broken A little too crowded at peak workout times, they need a bigger facility. There is office space next door that is empty. …
Good environment, staff is friendly and always clean, they have many choices for different workouts, it is packed and busy during common workout times, at midnight- 3 am is mostly empty.
My boyfriend and i joined a few months ago and i can say this location is such a wonderful gym, inexpensive, clean, not overly crowded (except for 5pm-8pm) positive environment over all.
Baileys overall is a good gym. But this location needs to be updated. The equipment is very old, and rusty! With it being a smaller location, it should offer at least decent equipment.
Baileys is a great gym that’s very spacious, the staff treats their customers as if we were part of the team and it’s a great way to stay physically mentally and spiritually fit!!!
I have been a member for 1+ year and have enjoyed my time and continuing to enjoy every visit. The staff is amazing and understand what they are doing. Amazing gym Roy is the best!
I love baileys! Super close to my house and the staff is always super nice and helpful. Very clean and I love that they run contest to keep you motivated! …
This is a great gym because of the staff. It's a bit on the older side in comparison to their other locations, but it's convenient. Close to home and the grocery store!
Best place in town to workout! I’ve been a member for 20+ years and highly recommend this gem! Some of my best friendships have been made at Bailey’s Gym.
If you live at the beach this gym is a must join!! Great value, equipment, and perfect for someone that requires a flexible schedule. Highly recommend.
Beware predatory membership terms that silently renew and require 30 days notice to cancel (as other reviewers have noted). Otherwise nice facilities.
I like this gym,for the most part it clean and the Equipment is maintained properly Very rare you see broken equipment. And the staff is friendly.
Very overpriced for a gym that is pretty much just a redecorated Planet Fitness. Nice gym and equipment, just not worth what they are asking for
Bo Curley is the bomb diggity. The gym is big and beautiful and has something to offer for everyone from weights to boxing. Signing up Friday
This is a brand new location. It's simply beautiful and all brand new equipment. Great staff, very helpful! And they have a smoothie bar!!!
Would be 5 stars if they enforced re-racking. It is an absolute mess when I get in. Other than that, the people are nice and it's decent.
Our membership got cancelled just for posing and seeing our physique. 0 ethics by every staffs rude staffs. Don’t waste your money here.
I've been to almost every baileys location over the years, and it's always been very maintained. Members and staff are super motivating
My favorite gym so far. I've always wanted to go to a gym with a kick boxing station and punching bag. It's worth it for the price.
Up front about when the annual charge would be. Equipment is fair to good condition at the moment. Trainers are hit or miss.
Used to be a nice gym but has severely gone down hill. Equipment is breaking and facility is not well kept anymore.
They have all the great machines, classes, and everyone is super nice and helpful! I always enjoy my time there.
Love it here! Everyone is always super nice and helpful. I love the equipment and the tanning beds as well!
The staff keep it super clean, and are so incredibly helpful if you need something. Favorite gym by far!
Best gym I've ever been to. Plenty of machines. Hope it opens back up soon ,cause I'm going crazy
Best Gym out there!!! But my Bro told me, they do not play about their money... I don't blame em.
Good place to lift and hang around in-shape healthy looking people. Goat’d gym and location
I love this gym!! I enjoy working out lots of equipment and people are very nice.
Ayo why this place so clean and good, honestly my favorite gym so far
Everyone mind their business. That's the most important thing. …
Great gym. Be careful of the wannabe influencers filming themselves.
I’ve visited another gyms but this is a whole different level
One of the spacious gym in modern world with great equipment.
Don't go scamming people and technical team horrible
Great hrs and staff. Everyone is helpful and nice!
Great gym go sign you won't regret it
Phenomenal gym! Great people!
