We moved to Nashville over a year ago and shortly after needed to find a vet to purchase heartworm/flea/tick medication from. After reading several positive reviews, we chose Belmont Animal Hospital. In the beginning, staff was kind. We weighed our pit mix in, but the weight seemed off. Without thinking much of it, I left the establishment and visited PetSmart to pick up some food. While walking around, I realized her weight couldn’t be correct. I walked into Banfield (inside PetSmart) and asked if I could weigh her, explaining I just thought maybe the scale was a little off at the vet. It was off by several pounds, putting the medicine we received at lower doses than she needed. Banfield called Belmont for me to let them know they weighed her and that we would be coming back for new medications. When I showed back up, the receptionist was kind and we laughed it off - this was no biggie, it happens! Fast forward six months, and we take our pup and our cat in for annual exams. Front desk staff was not overly friendly, but not rude. We took our pets back into a room and waited. Our vet tech came in first. He was kind and knowledgable, sweet with both our pets. Then our vet came in, also super kind and knowledgeable, but it felt like the exam was not overly thorough as it seemed our vet was timid towards our pit mix (who is the gentlest girl, ever!). We declined blood work for them both as we did not see it was necessary at this time, nor were we told it was mandatory. Left with a more expensive annual exam than what we were used to back home, but figured this was normal for Nashville. Fast forward another six months and I call in to ask if they had the heartworm/flea/tick medicine for her weight in stock. After I told them patient’s name, I instantly got attitude and felt some backlash for not having a blood test on file. When I asked what this was for, they explained it was to test for heart worms, which I was not against testing by any means, but I do like to be informed of the reason for the testing. I agreed to bring her in for the test while I picked up the medicine. When the test came back negative, they were filling my order and I began asking questions about ordering from an online Pharmacy, like the one through Chewy, who offers the same brands at a discounted price. Once I asked this question, I received a change in tone and coldness from the woman helping me, who advised against this due to uncertainty with vendors. My pup started whining (she was antsy), but I wanted to know more about what that meant and gain more knowledge about any dangers that could come from that. As I turned back to her after telling my pup we were about to leave, her response to me was “You’re all done. You can leave” as I was mid-sentence with my question. It became apparent that my questions were not welcomed, and it began to feel like neither were we. Only a couple weeks later, my pup came down with an ear infection. Although not life threatening, I could tell she was in quite some discomfort, as she may have been battling this longer than we initially thought. When my husband called in for an appointment, we were not able to get in until the following week (about 6 days) and were advised to administer a couple Benadryl a day until then. My husband received some snippiness from the front desk during this call as well. This was the last time we had contact with this office as we researched and found another office and got our pup in that next morning. We were disappointed in the type of service we received. Although the care from the vet was pleasant, there are more affordable and agreeable places to receive equal or better care in town.
I have been coming here for a year and I finally just made the decision to leave. When I first brought my dog in, I really did like Belmont. The vets seemed knowledgable and caring. There have been too many "little" things that have upset me about their care for my dog. My dog was a junk yard dog so he has some health issues that pop up every now and then. I do like their ability to always work me in when I call last minute, and the vets and techs are all very nice. I've seen three or four different vets over the last year. I'll share some details, just to show that I'm not being totally unreasonable. 1) They suggested I put my dog on grain-free food after Zyrtec/Claritin did not fully resolve his vomiting bouts. This was a great suggestion. But they continually forgot and would offer/give him treats that are not grain-free. Hello, did you read his profile at all? On our last 2 visits, I have brought treats with me for them to give instead of what they carry. 2) My dog had a tumor grow over his tear duct. Their care for him was really great, surgery went well, he recovered fully, they were very tolerant of me asking about the scientific specifics of the tumor (sorry, I'm in science, I have to know!). They did a really good job managing my anxiety as well. But my dog had a bathroom accident in his crate and they had to bathe him. My dog HATES water. They didn't think they needed to let me know, so I get my dog back and his rear end is soaking wet and beyond freaked out, not just about the water but probably also about being a "bad boy" and going in his crate. I feel this information should have been included in his op report, which was otherwise very thorough. I called once I got home and asked why he was wet (I didn't notice til I had to lift him up into the car), and was informed of his accident then. 3) My dog swallowed a raw hide so we went in to make sure he was alright. He caught kennel cough while we were there (I hadn't had him long - he had only been vaccinated one week prior). When I called to notify the vet, they very casually said "oh yeah, we had an outbreak that day." No apology, no real tone of urgency, and my dog was extremely sick! Not to mention the expensive antibiotics he then had to take. 4) My dog was vomiting and we went in to check on him. They took him out of our room for an anti-nausea shot instead of giving it in the room. Maybe there is something I don't know about this shot, but my dog is such a momma's boy, and can be aggressive to strangers, so why didn't they just leave him with me? He ran right back to my lap the second he returned (such a tough guy for 60 lbs!). Also, the vet tried to give me a bland food (rice and chicken) to feed for a few days while his tummy recovered. Again, did you not see he is grain free? I almost felt like she was trying to convince me to just risk it and give him the rice. I ended up cooking chicken and sweet potatoes for him, instead (albeit at the vet's suggestion in the end). ****** Additionally, and this was the straw that broke the camel's back, there were several large smears of blood on the floor of our room. When I brought it to the attention of the vet and the tech, they didn't apologize or seem incredibly concerned. They just blamed it on the dark floors and how it can be hard to see if they're clean. Thanks, my dog and I were sitting in another dog's blood for half an hour! So if you have a completely healthy, vaccinated dog, Belmont may be great for you. However, I felt their neglect for the "little things" was too much of a risk for me and my dog so we are moving on.
I brought my cat in to be treated for constipation. Two days later I had to put him to sleep. Something went horribly wrong with the procedure to cause my cat to suffer in pain for two days. This included my cat mysteriously obtaining what appeared to be a completely useless paralyzed front right leg from the carpals downward. A lesson for all: Never let a rookie vet perform even the most basic procedure on your pet. Plus, you are paying full price for a rookie vs paying full price for an experienced vet. The rookie vet is not worth a fraction of full price. Two procedures were done: an enema and subcutaneous fluids inserted at the shoulders. I have to think the enema was done somewhat incorrectly. When I picked up my cat ~4 hours after the procedure, the staff expressed surprise that my cat was still oozing fluid out of his anus. Such a surprise implies something was done wrong with the enema. Too much fluid? Did the rookie vet puncture his intestinal lining? Does the rookie vet not know an older animal will have a less pliable colon wall? Did something go wrong with the sub-Q fluids? Perhaps after an undetermined number of additional botched procedures the rookie vet will advance to being a very good vet by the time he reaches the age of the other vets at Belmont animal hospital. Maybe not. Medical procedures require art & science. The rookie vet may have the training to grasp the clunky science of veterinary procedures, but I doubt he has approached the basic skills needed for the art of these procedures. I would not hesitate to schedule an appointment with the older vets, but I would never let their rookie vets (I define that as those with less than 10 years of experience) ever give any care to your pet. The older vets appear to be highly skilled and compassionate. Belmont Animal Hospital is not the only clinic that has hired a rookie vet. This can happen at any vet clinic. My review could be used as a guideline for any vet clinic you choose. Rookie vets are horrible. They lack the experience necessary to be considered a good vet. They need experience, but let them get that experience on someone else’s pet, who is not aware of the downsides of a rookie.
Near the start of 2020, I fostered and then quickly rescued a 3.5 month old great dane. At the time, I reached out to Belmont Animal Hospital, now two months ago, to find a primary veterinarian. I called and they directed me to fill a form out online, saying they would contact me for an appointment. Fast forward 2 months and I am a nurse fighting a gnarly, worldwide, pandemic. Our Chewy's dog food is on back order because of the chaos, and we run out food. I have to go to Walmart and get what I have access to. He gets diarrhea. He stops drinking water. I look up home remedies until I can get him back to his regular food… so I start him on rice and low sodium chicken broth. This helped him for the time being, but I’ve run out of both, and now all of the stores are also out of both. He is back to his original food now, and still having diarrhea (day 6). I am up every single hour throughout the night with him, and then at work, fighting this viral beast all day long. I called Belmont and they won’t see anyone who isn’t established with them already. We aren’t established with Belmont because they didn’t reach out two months ago when I followed the steps they told me to take; because of their lack of care. I am beyond exhausted and very worried for my baby. He is hurting and I can’t help him. I asked if I was supposed to just let him suffer, and in turn, not be adequately rested for my “essential” job where I might be taking care of someone they love. She said she didn’t know and wished me luck. Thanks for being a neighbor, Belmont Animal Hospital.... Pray for us.
I have been taking my pets to Belmont Animal Hospital for the past 8 years and used to be their biggest fan, raving to all my friends and family that they were the best vet in Nashville. While the doctors and technicians are still excellent, I have recently become extremely disappointed in the service. Since July I have called twice over two separate urgent healthcare situations and was told they could not see my pet for 3-4 weeks. I was encouraged to go to one of the emergency veterinary facilities instead, for 3-4x the cost. Just today I came in for a scheduled appointment made a month ago only to be told that my appointment was back in August and I missed it. Given that I didn’t call to schedule my appointment until after Labor Day in September, I’m unclear how this scheduling error made, but I was told I’d have to wait on a technician when one became available and would not be able to see a vet unless I made another appointment for several more weeks out. Belmont Animal Hospital doesn’t send any kind of email confirmation or give courtesy calls for appointments, so it’s your word against theirs and there was zero empathy from the new receptionists. If you choose to take your pet to Belmont Animal Hospital, I highly recommend making sure you establish primary care at a second vet to insure your loved one can be seen in a timely matter when it counts.
From the staff to the doctors, BAH has an outstanding team that takes wonderful, thoughtful care of my dog. Despite their busy schedules, they’re always able to see him, even on an emergency basis (even if it’s only an emergency in my head), and find creative ways to solve what’s wrong. Their affection for their patients is obvious. What’s more, I’m always impressed by the consistency of care—no matter if your regular vet isn’t available that day, the other staff members will know your dog’s history and provide care with equal knowledge. And their new addition of a scheduling and records application allows me to access Bandit’s information when I’m traveling so if anything pops up, I can pass relevant information to an out-of-town vet without scrambling to contact them. It’s a big help. Bandit isn’t crazy about going to the vet generally, but he always comes out looking well loved and happy to be there.
The first time I brought my new rescue dog in, he was seen by Dr. Zika. He had a number of issues - not the least of which was trusting new people. Dr. Zika was sensitive to his needs and could have left the room right after evaluating him, but instead she took some time to hang out and get better acquainted with him. Then we had an unfortunate incident with another dog one Friday morning. I called Belmont Animal Hospital and they told me bring him by and go on to work and they would get him taken care of. He ended up needing surgery. Dr. Sewell called me within the hour to tell me what was needed. He performed the procedure that afternoon and called me after it was over to let me know how it went. Then on Monday Dr. Sewell called to check on my dog. Belmont Animal Hospital has provided excellent care for my dog and great customer service for me - I am so glad I found them!
I cannot say enough good things about Belmont. For starters, I am a first time pet owner. I grew up with pets, but it is totally different when they are solely in your care. With that being said, Belmont went above and beyond to ensure that Harley Mae was exceptionally cared for. From her spay, to care after the surgery, to fitting her in for ear infections, to the routine checkups - I never once doubted or was anything but completely satisfied with the services she received. Additionally, Harley is a very nervous dog - she takes some time getting used to new places. The great people at Belmont were extremely accommodating, making her feel comfortable and as at-home as was possible. I really do think she will miss it there - and can only hope to find a vet as compassionate, professional, and capable as Belmont Animal Hospital.
My dog Harry is soon to be 10 and we’ve been going to BAH since we moved here in 2015. We absolutely adore the staff. When I recently added a 6 week old new fur baby to the family named Piper, I of course got scheduled with BAH immediately. Everyone here goes above and beyond for you from the time you walk in the door until the time you check out. We love all the providers and their staff although my dogs are partial to vet tech Melody the most I love that for ER appointments they have the drop off option so your animal will be seen same day no matter what. That’s just so important in a vet and you can honestly tell they care so much about all their patients. I also love that they accept Care Credit so i can use that for times like dental/spaying procedures that are a little more expensive.
Nothing but fantastic things to say about Belmont Animal Hospital. It is very clear that the entire staff love their job and have a wonderful work environment. This is made known by experiencing their eagerness to provide the utmost care, compassion, and professionalism to their clientele. I have never had an instance that was less than stellar while visiting BAH, even during the "highs" and "lows" of pet ownership. I appreciate how easily the doctors efficiently provide information while still maintaining that down-to-earth and neighborhood feel. Even during the pandemic, the protocol for handling patients was very seamless and fluid. I highly recommend Belmont Animal Hospital and appreciate everything they have done to help provide our pets with long and happy lives.
Friendly and caring staff, from when I called in to make the appointment to a few days after the appointment when they called to see how things were going. Dr. Sewell was gentle and thorough with my dog, which is very important to me as I hate feeling like just another appointment to rush through to get to the next one. I was very appreciative that he explained everything in detail and gave me honest recommendations for my dog's care. Overall, both Dr. Sewell and the vet tech, Rebecca, genuinely listened to what I had to say about my concerns for my dog. Reasonable prices for this area also. As a self-proclaimed "crazy dog mom", I've been looking for a permanent vet in Nashville since I moved here and I'm so happy to have found it! :)
Vet tries to cram every test down your throat when the test you actually wanted came back with negative result and when you refuse she becomes irritated and no longer wants to be of help. The vet tech Stephanie threatened that we would be in trouble with “law enforcement” if we didnt buy the rabies “tag” from their location (it was $50+ for something you can easily make at Petsmart for 3 or 4 bucks). Ive checked county pet regulations and theres nothing that required a pet tag from theirs or any vet location only paperwork proving shot has been administered. This clinic is poorly ran, over priced, and has absolutely horrible customer service. No chance Id bring our pets their or recommend this clinic to anyone.
We are grateful for the wonderful doctors and staff at Belmont Animal Hospital. Every single person there has been so kind and great at what they do. They really take time to get to know the animals, build a relationship and check in to see how they’re doing if there’s ever an issue. After our dog’s neutering surgery, he was whining when left alone during recovery, so the staff took turns carrying him around all day so he wouldn’t be lonely and scared. That story alone shows me how much everyone there genuinely cares about the animals. They are also very responsive to questions and on several occasions have helped us figure out whether or not we can treat an issue at home vs. when to come in to see the vet.
I am so incredibly grateful for Belmont animal hospital for taking care of my sweet Archie when he got super dehydrated after having an upset stomach for several days. First off, they were able to get me an appointment early that morning since he was so sick, after I’d be waiting all night to get called in by the emergency vet with no luck. Dr. Mays was amazing with Archie and helped calm my fears. He was incredibly kind, reassuring, and checked in with me frequently throughout the day. He also followed up the following day and answered some lingering questions. They also take excellent care of him at all of his check up visits! I can’t recommend Belmont animal hospital enough!!! Thank y’all so much!
Up until my first appointment here, I had never been to a vet that made the experience as pleasurable or easy for my very anxious pup and I. It was always dreadful making appointments and worrying how she was gonna do, but everybody made sure she was taken care of with as little stress as possible and truly cared about her well-being outside of the standard health procedures. I will be happily returning and recommending to anyone who asks. I cannot express my gratitude enough for the treatment and care that was received in our few visits thus far. Thank you thank you thank you. You’re changing the vet narrative for not only my nervous pup, but myself as well.
This is Cava May, she hasn’t been feeling well the past few days. I scheduled an appointment for Friday, and called realizing my day off is Wednesday hoping I could get her in sooner. Rachel was gracious and told me she could work us in. I dropped Cava off round 830 this morning and got her back around 145 today. The staff was very informative and updated her shots and sent us home with meds and a special food for the time being. Cava is back to herself happy and sweet ( the vets words) I couldn’t be happier, I highly recommend the staff at Belmont animal hospital for all your pets needs! Thanks a ton Belmont animal hospital!
We had our first experience with Belmont yesterday, and it was wonderful. Reception was kind, the vet assistant took time to look our dog over and listened to our concerns, then when we were introduced to the vet he too was understanding. You know how sometimes you go to a vet and they brush your concerns off as "crazy dog owner who jumps at an itch"? That did not happen here, each of our worries were addressed specifically, and he didn't rush us out the door. The vet was gentle and my dog actually liked him more than any other vet she's seen in a long time. We (husband, dog, and myself) are all happy clients!
If you are planning on flying overseas with your pet, choose one that knows how to file your pets health certificate with the USDA. You can simply not fly overseas without this endorsement. Dr.Sewell at the Belmont Animal Hospital had no idea how to do it and like so many doctors do, he had his staff to take care of something that was his responsibility . These ENDORSEMENTS ARE VERY TIME SENSITIVE!!, and only accredited vets are given access to the app. If it wasn't for the helpful staff we would not be able to go home with our cats. NURSES THANK YOU, DR.SEWLL...THANK YOU FOR NOTHING.
Such a great and caring staff! I had an emergency with my 6 week old puppy so I didn't have an appointment and they fit me right in :) they told me it would be a while before my puppy was seen and it wasn't long at all! The lady at the front desk was polite as well and I appreciated when she offered me a cup of coffee. The vet and vet tech were both very nice as well and the vet tech answered all questions and even gave me info packets. They treated my puppy and I very well and not just like we were another patient. Would definitely come here again! Only the best for my puppy :)
I moved to Nashville this past year and needed quick and confident service within a month for my 5 year old French Bulldog, Walter. Walter is a particularly special case as he has hemophilia and can be aggressive in his attempts to 'protect' me. The staff at Belmont Animal Hospital went above and beyond to care for, comfort and respect Walter and myself. I am truly thankful for their expertise, understanding and respect of my dog and I. I am confident they are always looking out for the animal's best interest and would recommend them to anyone looking for a vet.
Dr. Nelson has truly set a new standard for me in terms of health care - and I don’t just mean for animals. Her willingness to walk through options with compassion and openness to feedback from the patient/pet owner is like nothing I’ve ever experienced. I feel beyond fortunate to be working with her on a tough case and have the utmost belief in her commitment to achieving the best possible outcome. I have said to her on several occasions now that words fail me as it pertains to describing my gratitude for the knowledge and kindness she’s shared.
Dr. Howell was incredibly professional and caring on the phone post a covid NEW patient appt. We are new to Nashville and its incredible important for me to meet my vet, and I have no problem shopping for a better one if the "vibe" and caring attention is not there - so far so GREAT with Dr. Howell. Ryan Guite. UPDATE: I will say it would be better if you allowed customers in with their pets though. Almost all businesses have been open to customers and still can respect the 6ft social distance, wear a mask, etc. What are you all waiting for?
High prices and not transparent in test and exam process. They also charged my for several items I didn’t need nor ask for. Felt like I was at a car dealership and negotiating for several things I didn’t need. Don’t go here - other places charge less and furnish the same if not better quality of care. These invoices are older so the more than likely charge more now. Additionally, you should be able to find my account as Tennessee law requires you to maintain medical records for a certain amount of years (I believe 3)...
Love this place! I have tried other vets in Nashville and this place is the best, from the front desk staff, the the vet techs, and the vets! I have 2 dogs one is a Bichon-Shitzu and they were so attentive with her surgery and every other visit. They cared for her like she was their own. I am an over protective dog mom and they have always made Wonton feel right at home. I have seen Dr. Sewell, and Dr. Smith and they have both been wonderful. Also, doggy daycare has been a life saver for us!
Belmont Animal Hospital is known for their great services, friendly staff, and being downright animal lovers. Our 7.5 year old Beagle has been a patient since he was a brand new puppy. Originally, we picked BAH because it was less than a mile from where we lived, but they have taken such excellent care of him over the years that we’ve remained clients despite moving across town. Trust is everything when it comes to the care of your fur baby, and BAH earned ours for good.
Every year I receive calls from this place asking for Lindsey and saying it's time for Charlie's appointment. I've had this phone # 20yrs, do not know Lindesy or have a pet named Charlie.I live 2k miles away. I've asked these people to stop calling but they keep calling every year. I've blocked their number but they still keep getting through. It's very annoying when I'm on calls for work. What can I do to get you to stop calling me? When will you get a clue? Please stop
My experience at Belmont Animal Hospital and with Dr. Gilliam and the staff is always excellent. Dr. Gilliam is so patient with my many questions and the staff is always understanding and so kind when I ask for accommodations for my anxious pups. I would not take them anywhere else and I feel completely confident they are in the hands of the best vet practice in Nashville! I really appreciate the quality care Belmont has provided my dogs over the last 4 years!
I’ve been taking my now 8-month-old Bernedoodle here since he was 8 weeks old. The staff, techs and vets have all been an absolute dream to work with. It’s apparent that they truly care about their patients and will do what is needed to get them feeling better. Anytime I need something or have a question, they are beyond helpful. Thank you to everyone who works here and gives me a piece of mind knowing my pup is in great hands.
The vet tech was awesome. I wish I remembered her name but my appointment went longer than your office probably planned for because of all my questions. She answered them all with detail and was very patient with me. Best vet office I've been to and I've been to a handful over the years. I also really like the text option so I don't have to call and wait on hold while I'm at work. Harley is very happy to be feeling better!
I have lived in Nashville and owned pets for the last 20 years. I've been to every vet within a 20 mile radius from Green Hills. Belmont Animal Hospital is by far the best, nothing is even close. The facility is well lit, clean and beautiful. The staff is knowledgeable, professional and courteous. They really care for your pet. If you care about your pets like i do, start here. I only wish they had been here 20 years ago.
As a very anxious first time dog mom, I’ve had a hard time finding a vet clinic that I felt comfortable at. Belmont Animal Hospital is the first place I’ve felt completely comfortable, heard, and truly confident in the care my dog is receiving. Finding the right vet has truly been a game changer for my anxiety and has helped subside a lot of my worries! can’t say thank you enough to this team (specifically Dr. Howell!)
Belmont Animal Hospital is great. They take such good care of our dog, and all of their vets and vet techs are so kind. They also do a great job of taking necessary precautions when your pet is sick while also avoiding unnecessary procedures. That's a really tough line to balance, but they're always really clear and transparent about their recommendations and why they're making them. I cannot recommend them enough!
I have been taking my pets to Belmont Animal Hospital for 4 years now - we won't go anywhere else! They are always so friendly, highly knowledgeable, and treat us well. One of my kittens got really sick a while ago and they made it a point to fit us in, even offering to let me drop her off so they could look at her between scheduled appointments. I would not hesitate to recommend this place to any pet parent.
We've been at Belmont Animal Hospital for *years* with multiple dogs, and all the vets are fabulous! Truly. Most recently, Dr. Nelson helped our dog with a persistent ear infection and never gave up helping him, she truly cared about him, and even phoned to follow up. LOVE HER! (and all the vets there). We drive quite a while to keep going to Belmont despite having moved out a bit, just b/c it's that good!
This is an absolutely amazing animal clinic. They are so accommodating and friendly--I really will not take my pets anywhere else!! The appointment was quick and informative, the staff was super helpful and friendly, and the doctor called the next day to check up on and make sure we knew to call if we had any questions. They are very focused on customer service, and it makes all the difference.
Wonderful facility and wonderful staff! We were visiting from out of state and needed a vet to remove staples from my Havanese after she had bladder surgery at our regular vet. They were so accommodating, saw us promptly and removed her staples for free! We were so surprised at their kindness for Maggee and for us. Would recommend this vet highly! Thank you Belmont Animal Hospital (Nashville)!
I have loved Belmont Animal Hospital since its inception. This week was my first time entrusting my beloved pet to a vet other than Dr. Eadie or Dr. Sewell for surgery, and Dr. Nelson absolutely exceeded all expectations. She is just as wonderful as Dr. Eadie and Dr. Sewell have been for all these years. Very thankful to have this gem of a pet hospital in Nashville!
From scheduling through the follow-up calls, Belmont Animal Hospital excels. My cat, who another vet deemed untreatable, is now happy and thriving. Everyone is friendly and welcoming, and Dr. Nelson does a terrific job explaining everything. Pricing is fair and you won’t feel pressured into doing anything you don’t want to do. Thrilled to have discovered this place!
My pup scratched her cornea superficially, and I was able to get her that day to be treated, which took an easy 30 min. Everyone was very efficient, patient, kind, and helpful. I had a lot of questions, and was able to get thorough answers to each one. Dr John Mays, Taren, and everyone throughout the process were awesome, and I will be back whenever needed.
So nice and friendly, gave me great options, a good plan for me and my dog. I loved that the vet knelt dog to greet my dog and exam her, it was so much easier than trying to get her on the table. They also gave me a great 3-in-1 tablet for flees, heartworm and mites, this reduced our routine a lot and saved me money. Great place and affordable
I never write reviews about places but they did such an amazing job with my dog that I felt the need to. I called about 10 a.m. and they had me in the office at 11:30. They assessed her issue and addressed it quickly. Within an hour she was showing signs of improvements. They were all very caring and loving towards the situation. 15/10 would reccomend.
Dr Sewell has been Carlos, my shih tzu’s, vet for years, and he is so caring and takes the time to listen and explain everything. You can really see his love for animals, and Carlos loves going to the vet, which says a lot! I thought it was pretty cool when Dr Sewell remembered Carlos even when he saw him in the car outside the office one day, lol:)
Everyone here will love and care for your pet as if it is their own. I cannot express, time and again, what phenomenal experiences my dog and I have had. The price is reasonable, the doctors and staff are knowledgeable and kind, and I have never once felt hurried or rushed. I am so unbelievably thankful and grateful to have found this practice!
The doctors and staff at Belmont Animal Hospital are the very best! We will gladly drive farther to get our dog to them because we know she will get the very best care. Everyone is attentive, prompt, kind, and gentle and take the time to answer questions and explain exactly what is happening. I recommend Belmont Animal to anyone I can!
They do such a great job here with my two dogs, Oscar and Pepper. Oscar can be very timid and Pepper is a very energetic and they handle both of them very well. The vets here take a lot of time explaining what is going on with my pups. We have had a couple of surgeries and the do great. Can't say enough good things about these folks.
These folks are great. They're able to squeeze me in to talk about my pup over the phone or in person. They also have a great "drop off" option for days when no appointment slots are available. Everyone is nice, professional, and patient with my questions and concerns. They all really love what they do. Highly recommend.
The staff at Belmont is the best. We have had such a wonderful experience and I always feel like they take the time to address all questions and concerns. They treat our dog like their own and he has gotten over a lot of fear over going to the vet because they’re so patient and bring in his favorite treats. Thank you!
We have been taking our 2 Golden Doodles to Belmont Animal Hospital for years now and we couldn't be happier! The service and quality of care are really high and that's why we keep coming back. Dr. Zika has been amazing! If you don't have a vet that feels like family then I would give Belmont Animal Hospital a try.
Have been bringing my pets to Belmont since 2014. They have done a brilliant job in taking care of my pets through all phases of their lives. From puppies/kittens to end of life care I trust that the doctors and staff of Belmont will do what is best for my pets while offering solutions or alternatives as necessary.
We love Belmont Animal Clinic. We started taking our pup here when we first moved to Nashville and they were so friendly, caring and knew their stuff. Toward the end for our guy, they were supportive and compassionate and we will never be able to thank them enough for giving Theoh care in his final moments.
Staff is wonderful and every encounter is done with care, but also efficiency so we are not stuck waiting with nervous animals for more than a minute or two. Our cat and dog both have their veterinary care here...and I am new to dogs so the staff has been helpful answering my many ridiculous questions! :)
The kind, compassionate and knowledgeable staff, has cared for my cats for over 10 years. I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else. The facilities are wonderful. They will always advocate for the little guy with the little voice. I believe they love what they do. Absolutely the best vet I've ever had.
Dr. Zika is the best vet I have ever taken my babies to. She is kind, takes her time to explain things and you can tell how much she genuinely loves animals. She is conservative with treatment, which I appreciate. The office can be busy, so you definitely need an appointment a few days ahead of time.
I’ve been taking my cats here for 3 years. The staff are friendly and always willing to listen to me talk about my cats. The were especially compassionate when I had to have my 19 year old cat euthanized. I think I’ve seen every vet on staff at one time or another and I’ve never been disappointed.
My two small dogs and I are very pleased with Belmont Animal Hospital! The reception staff, vet techs, and Dr. Gilliam are super friendly, caring, passionate, and knowledgeable. They treat us with the best care and respect. We appreciate everything they do. I highly recommend this vet clinic.
I had the best experience at Belmont Animal Hospital. My 5 year old great dane had become lethargic and couldn't walk. They were able to get me in that day and found the problem immediately. With a round of antibiotics and some pain meds my Dane was back to her normal self within a few days.
We’ve been working with Belmont Animal Hospital for 5 years. They are awesome with our pets, professional, and explain everything to the humans with great compassion, knowledge and kindness. I have never felt that any of my questions were perceived as dumb or beneath them. Highly recommend.
We had a great experience at Belmont Animal Hospital! From the moment we walked in everyone we interacted with was friendly, warm, and so sweet with my nervous pup. They took the time to answer all of my questions and give helpful recommendations. I’ve already recommend BAH to a friend!
It is so very comforting first that you know who my baby is each time I call. You always listen and I feel like Ellie is in good hands. This is such a relief to me. Yesterday you went to daycare to find Ellie and give her a shot. This is going above what could be expected. I thank you.
All good vets have more patients than can be easily handled these days. Belmont does a wonderful, conscientious job of assessing sudden problems and doing virtual consultations via pics and texts or slipping brief urgent visits into the spaces of their day. Very much appreciated!
I just gave my neighbor the recommendation to go there! They made everything so easy and were so accommodating for me. They loved my dog like I do, had great care, good pricing, and were just so relational and personable. It felt like leaving her with friends, not a doctor.
Belmont staff and vets are the absolute best. They always treat my dogs with the utmost care and kindness. They are always so helpful whether I need a med refill, an urgent appt, or a quick tech appt. I have recommended Belmont to all of my friends that are pet owners.
The staff has been extremely helpful every time we have made a visit. We had to put one of our seventeen year old cats down a year ago, and the staff was very kind and let us take our time to say goodbye. I can not recommended Belmont Animal Hospital enough.
Be aware that Belmont Animal Hospital says a canine annual exam will cost $50. However, the heartworm and fecal tests (which are a part of a standard annual exam) cost an additional $77, meaning the actual cost is $127 - more than double what they tell you!
Great service! I recommend it. Dr. Howell and her assistant Alex were very professional and caring with my cat Amy and my dog Yukito. They listened to my concerns and answered all my questions. I really love having them as the vet team for my fur babies.
Belmont Animal Hospital is the best vet we have had. They are incredibly responsive, and everyone at the facility is wonderful. Dr. Nelson has been so great in caring for our elderly dog. I would definitely recommend them for anyone looking for a vet!
Belmont Animal Hospital is the greatest - we love Dr. Eadie! Our three dogs have been his patients for at least 4 years now. The clinic is always clean and bright - Dr. Eadie and staff are very kind and loving to our animals. Highly recommended!
Roy and I have always gotten 5-star care at BAH. I know we are in the best hands and that they care immensely for Roy’s well being and health. I couldn’t have made it through some pretty big health scares with this little guy with out them.
Amazing experience from start to finish. I just moved to Nashville recently and needed to check in with a new vet for a wellness check and get ready for my pup to be fixed, I knew I was going to like his new vet from that visit alone but
Wish we would have switched to Belmont sooner! Our pups are both historically very nervous at the vet and it has always been a struggle to even get them through the door. At Belmont everyone was so nice and made my pups feel as comfy as
We love the Doctors and Staff of Belmont Hospital! They treat our pooch like he’s part of their family - and in response, he LOVES his visits (SO weird)! Best of all, they seek the least invasive approach to each situation.
Just the best care in all facets. It’s a place where everyone seems to be in the job/industry they were meant for. Caring, knowledgeable, professional. So glad to have the entire team looking after our dogs.
Everyone we interacted with was kind, knowledgeable, and wonderful with our cat. We are very happy with the care provided. This was our first visit, and we will definitely be returning for future checkups.
I greatly appreciate the compassionate care that Admiral receives from everyone at Belmont Animal Hospital. From Jennifer at the front desk to all of the techs and physicians, we couldn't be more pleased.
Had a great experience here, super friendly staff and vets. Maybe a little bit pricey but top-notch service & care. They even sent a hand written card to our home after our first visit. Highly recommend!
My experience at Belmont Animal Hospital is always incredibly positive. I can't say how grateful I am for all that the incredible staff do for both pets and owners, especially in these trying times!
I loved taking my pets to Belmont when I lived in Nashville. Everyone was friendly and seemed to truly love animals. I knew they were receiving the best care possible when I took them to Belmont.
In stressful scenarios, everyone was very nice and respectful. They answered all of my questions, and gave us a great plan after we left. I would recommend taking your animal here in the future!
Everyone is very caring at Belmont Animal Hospital. They worked my dog in for an urgent visit and were still very efficient and kept me informed throughout the visit. I would highly recommend!
Belmont Animal Hospital has been amazing. We are new to the area and were nervous about a new vet, and nothing but kindness and care shown to me and my fur babies. Cannot recommend enough.
The doctors and staff at Belmont are always incredibly accommodating, friendly, professional, and helpful. I’d highly recommend them for anyone seeking care for their four-legged friends.
Belmont Animal takes the absolute best care of my pug! He had a back disability and Dr. Zika is so patient and thorough with him. They always make us feel so welcome, highly recommend!
Every aspect of my appointment was handled professionally and with care and concern. I so appreciate Belmont Animal Hospital's doctors and staff. They take care of my sweet pup and me!
Best animal hospital in Nashville. I have been taking both my dogs here for 7 years and have appreciated every moment of it. Dr. Eadie and Dr. Sewell are such fantastic veterinarians.
New to area my fur baby is not well - they do not accept new patients without a “well patient” appointment first ! Good way to increase revenue- bad way to make a first impression
Love them. Really thorough and kind. Do we call it Belmont Animal Spa because they are pricey? Maybe. Do we love them anyway and trust them with our family let’s? Yes absolutely.
Thankful to have such a wonderful vet clinic right in our neighborhood. Dr Howell takes such great care of our fur babies. We honestly feel like she is part of our family.
The staff at Belmont Animal Hospital are great! I have a very anxious cat and both the vet tech and vet were so sweet and caring to my nervous boy. Definitely recommend!!
Incredible staff. Every employee shows compassion and dedication to every animal that walks through their doors. Highly recommend all Belmont Animal Hospital services!! ❤
Caring place my family has used for years. Was still doing curbside so don't forget your phone at home when you are struggling to get a gigantic cat into a carrying case.
Everyone is so nice and my pup feels comfortable going to the vet. Belmont pet hospital always provides exactly what we need and if very loving to pets! We love them!!
Dr. Gilliam and the vet tech were wonderful. I was worried about a new hot spot on a Friday afternoon and they squeezed us in and were efficient, kind and helpful.
I have been going to Belmont Animal Hospital since my sweet Cavalier was 7 weeks old. Doctors and staff are caring, professional and attentive. 5 stars for sure!!
The doctors were so sweet towards our cat. They even send cute cards after your visit. I never trusted anyone as much as I trust the Belmont staff with my pets.
Belmont Hospital is the best. The doctors, vet technicians and the whole staff are very personal and you know that your pet is in the best hands possible...!
I love bringing my dog to Belmont Animal Hospital. He's an anxious pup, but he actually LOVES coming to the vet because everyone here is so caring and kind!
Dr. Howell is compassionate, clear in providing information, excellent at putting our animals at ease. I highly recommend her and Belmont Animal Hospital.
Doctor Eadie and the techs take great care of our 3 doggies. They are thorough and helpful. I’ve had nothing but a positive experience with them
We love Belmont -- We've seen multiple veterinarians there and have had great experiences all the way around. No criticism just love from us.
Amazing and caring staff. Super responsive! Easy to get appointments but also very available over the phone for quick questions or concerns!
