My dad needed a new phone, so one day we decided to go to BestBuy together to get it. Once my dad got his phone, he wanted to ask help from some people at the mobile phone support. My dad needed help adding a new sim card, but a short Indian lady there said "No sir, I cannot help you, I am done with my shift go ask someone else". Like you cannot spare 1 minute of your time to help my dad? Anyways she eventually wanted to help but because she is so in a rush to leave her shift, she dropped the sim card down a small hole of the table. Frustrated, she called another co-worker. He seemed fine at first and helped us get the sim card back. My dad was still very unhappy about what the lady said initially so he said "this is very unprofessional of you, all I wanted help was for you to put a new sim card in my new phone, but you just had to make things difficult and be in a rush and the sim card fell because of it". Instead of just saying sorry, she argued. The black trainee that got our sim card was pressed all of a sudden, and started shouting at us, telling us to "get lost, LEAVE the store". My dad and I were shocked, normally trainees aren't this rude, and the manager and associates did NOTHING to handle the situation, they just waited until we left before confronting with the employee. I am never going back to this bestbuy because of the horrible customer service, they just hire anyone without testing their professionalism. Nowadays I would rather go 9 kilometres away to BestBuy south as it is much better, people are nicer, and I get what I want faster. Never visiting this horrible place again.

I walked into the store and was greeted by a guy that was standing and talking with 2 girls by the register. He says, "hello, how can I help you today". So I answered that I'm looking for a cell phone. He pointed to a big sign about 50 feet away and said, "over there". So I thought since he asked how he could help me, that he would actually help me. But no luck, I walked over to the cell phones where you could only look at cardboard replications of the phones, looked around and found one that I liked. As employees seemed to be walking around looking really busy, but if you actually looked long enough, they were just walking around in circles throughout the store staying about 10 feet away from the customers, but walking quickly enough that you would think they had something to do. But they didn't. They were actively trying to avoid working, which is a lot of work in and of itself. But anyhow, after 10 minutes I walked out of the store and muttered to the security guard that the store sucked. But I think he was to busy walking around in circles to hear me. Do yourself a favor and drive an extra 10 minutes to any other store, you will save time. I used to complain when they were payed by commission, because they were to forceful, now they get oayed by the hour and they are so lazy. I think I would prefer the old way

I've never had a terrible experience at this location. The customer service desk staff are polite and professional, and maintain a sanitary workspace for themselves and for customers. That being said, between the floor employees not knowing enough about the products they are selling and some of them trying to convince me to buy the more expensive products for no reason, other than thinking price is relative to quality, I find it extremely necessary to do all of the research into the products I am interested in purchasing on my own. This is not a downtown specific issue, I have had similar experiences in other locations around Edmonton. I also understand that not being able to call this location is frustrating and inconvenient for everyone, but please keep in mind that although COVID-19 isn't transmitted through talking to a customer service rep over phones, they probably wanted to keep their staff safe and healthy by not relying on people to sanitize the phone after each use. We have to remember that retail workers risk their lives by dealing with the general public and each other in close proximity every day. Would you want to use a phone everyone else has been putting to their face all day, when you can't clean the little mic holes thoroughly? I know I wouldn't.

Was in the store for about an hour and half looking into TVs and not a single person came by to assist. It was a dead day, just a bunch of vvankers standing around talking to each other and trying to (cringe inducingly) hit on female coworkers instead of doing literally anything. Couldn't even pretend to be busy let alone do their jobs. Easily the worst best buy I've ever been in; many of the TV's worth looking at didn't even have demos going. The only interaction was from the security guard who's only job seemingly is to push masks onto people. South common however was like a night and day difference. They welcomed me into the store and the staff were eager to help and inform, plus the layout was miles ahead of this crummy location and every TV has it's demos up and running. Anyone reading this should just go to south common and avoid this place like the plague. This downtown dump of a location lost out on a thousands of dollars sale all because of their incompetence, ineptitude and off-putting interactions-- or rather lack thereof. I honestly don't even know why I gave them a shot. South side has always been great, I really expected the downtown location to be decent but it was the worst one I've ever been in. Felt very sketchy and unprofessional.

This store is not great I purchased a laptop here for school what was advertised to have included a free year of Microsoft office. The guy who sold me it assured me it was preloaded in the overpriced laptop well it wasn't had to go and come back and then even though of of the guys I talked to on the phone assured me I could come back and they would rectify the error at no extra cost they first argues with me upon my arrival and then tried to make me pay an addition 40 dollars for the software supposed to be included when I had first purchased the laptop. After almost 55 minutes of waiting the one manager stepped in and told them to just give me the software at no extra cost and 20 dollars in a gift certificate. But honestly after all the hassle of having to go and come back and then wait and having to argue for something advertised as free on top of being almost 6 hours behind schedule on papers due the following day it still wasn't worth it. Honestly if I could I would give them 0 stars please avoid this best buy as they value their profit margin more than their own clients

Haven't tried out the product yet but wanted to give a 5 star customer service review. Went to other stores with limited selection on Bluetooth earbuds. Then went to Best Buy and Kathleen immediately found me and first asked several questions to ensure she understood the product specifications and use I wanted from the product. (Writing down all details including price range, colours, phone, etc) She was very friendly and knowledgeable and we quickly went through various potential options together from the 5 rows of Bluetooth earbuds. She pulled up product details for each of them and we discussed pros and cons together. Never felt like I was pushed or in a rush, she patiently answered all of my questions. (I had a lot of questions!) Excellent service! Give Kathleen a raise because she makes the customers feel like family!

Came in last week to replace my phone screen protector and waited 20 minutes in line before being helped while people BEHIND ME in line were being helped even though I was second in line. Was told if I brought my old screen protector in that it'd be replaced free of charge. Cool, fair deal. Came back this week with it just to be told I also needed a receipt for it, which I don't have because the Best Buy I got it from applied it for free with a phone purchase and didn't add it to that receipt either. Be nice if the last guy had told me about the receipt that so I didn't have to waste my time yet again. I have yet to shop at a Best Buy that justifies its existence in the era of online shopping but I suppose I have only myself to blame for continuing to go to Best Buys knowing I'll leave disappointed.

Literally horrible, got a screen protector on my phone and left gel in my charging port which could DAMAGE my phone and also left it in my speakers which he DID NOT CLEAN OUT, Geek squad has an attitude and when I noticed it he just took it back and barely cleaned out the charging port, which they are initially supposed to do, clearly needs more training if I know more about his job than he does. Then when wanting a case I asked an employee who initially asked if I needed help for a case that said was in store online, he clearly looked so mad to do what I asked and then said “yea we have three” checked an extra bin on the side and said oh I don’t know where they are. SO LAZY! I don’t ask for much from employees but come on, so horrible.. go to another Best Buy!!!

Very bad experience here. The items on display had a "bring this to the genius bar" sticker on them. When I did, I was then told that the item was actually out of stock. Item box should never have been on display if the item is not available. I went bad to select another similar item. The *exact* same thing happened again. The girl "helping" me had a bad attitude, rolled her eyes when I asked and another item, and would not even help to check if another store her the item in stock. Bad service, bad staff who obviously don't want to be there, bad advertising... Save yourself some time and shop elsewhere and/or online. At least Amazon is upfront about an items availability and doesn't treat their customers like dirt. Avoid this shop.

Bought a 65 inch LG g1 and had issues with the "ultimate setup" package. The cable concealment materials the sales person picked out for me didn't work and the installer couldn't use them. The sales person also had said that I could go behind the wall with my cables if I wanted, but the installer said it was illegal to put power behind the wall which is inconsistent with what I was told in-store. The installer was friendly and professional, I was just disappointed that I couldn't pay bestbuy $6,000 to come and set up a television the way they tell you they can in store. They refunded the cable concealment fees, but I just found the experience disorganized and disappointing. LG g1 is a nice tv though!

Be very cautious about purchasing appliances from Best Buy. The subcontractor they use for deliveries is extremely unreliable. So far, they have missed two separate delivery dates. Their only response to this inconvenience is to ask you to reschedule again another 3-5 days later. The Best Buy online chat representatives can't help you and the phone number for their delivery help centre leads to either automated dead ends or hour and a half holds to talk to representatives that don't care. After dozens of hours of effort, I still don't have a clear answer on when to expect a delivery for my $3,000 order. If you actually want to receive the order you pay for, I would recommend buying elsewhere.

I never thought I would review a Best Buy. I don't think I've ever bought anything there prior to today, so I thought I would just run in, grab the movie I needed. The experience that I had ended up being one of the most positive customer service experiences I've had in a while. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and were directed to exactly where we needed to be. The employee that assisted us is named Curtis and when we informed him that we couldn't find the DVD, he grabbed someone who worked in processing who was able to find it in under a minute. They were both so helpful and friendly. Overall it was a great experience and I would honestly go out of my way to go back to this location.

Need to just leave a quick review here as the website won't let me submit a feedback form anymore. Tom, the floor manager really deserves it. He spent several hours making sure I got the right phone, best plan and also helped me resolve the return of multiple items from a previous purchase in the same sitting. He was very patient, helped me understand the value of the products and above all, understood customer service. Since my phone purchase, I've become a regular customer at this location and I also find that on my visits he regularly rights the ship when other reps provide incomplete or incorrect information on the products/services provided at Best Buy.

This happened On Wednesday June 8 and it’s still bothering me so I’ve decided to post this review. I returned a wired set of ear buds because I changed my mind and wanted AirPods instead. The return went just fine. When we went to look at the AirPods. No one wanted to help us. One guy was moving items from one shelf to another made eye contact with me twice continued on with what he was doing. Two others ignored us as well. After waiting for about 5 minutes we decided to leave. 7 people standing around 2 customers in the store wait 0 customers in the store because we left. I thought Amazon was next day delivery ? I guess it’s the same at this Best Buy. !!

The Geek Squad is not what it used to be, and the problems we have had at this store with them are kind of disheartening. They seem to be sales people off the floor doing more of secretarial work and just sending repairs away to depots rather than doing any troubleshooting or IT work in-house. They are pretty clueless about IT stuff, and the one person who actually looked like he knew stayed in the back. Their mobile department was very helpful, informative, and hard working. He helped my dad get a good phone plan setup. The rest of the store is pretty good for selection and layout, aside from the weird customer service and till layout.

If I could give my most recent experience here 10 stars, I would. I will find out the name of the dude who helped me and edit later. I walked in on a last-minute shop before I had to leave to Toronto on a business trip and I was helped by a dude who went above and beyond to not only help me find what I didn't even realize I was looking for, but he actually saved me a LOT of money. I thought Id have to buy a new device when some simple adaptors would do the trick (And they did!) He was knowledgeable, patient, eager to help and offered different solutions. I will ALWAYS come back to this store if this customer service is the norm.

Hi. I just bought a Galaxy active watch on sale. When I got it home for some reason there wasn't a charger in the box. When I returned to the store to see if I could buy a charger. The dude checked and said they were sold out. He did some extra above and beyond work for me. He had them check to see if the other watches had a charger included...it did. He just gave the charger to me. I was very surprised and extremely happy. I'm not good with names but the young gentleman remembered grabbing my order earlier in the day. This gentleman should be commended on his services. Thank you Best Buy...you have a happy customer today.

Ordered something for in-store pickup and had the absolutely worst experience. Actively ignored by what appeared to be the floor supervisor, handed off to a trainee that clearly had not been trained sufficiently, and ultimately had a staff cancel my online order I was there to pickup. Yes l, they somehow thought I had gone all the way to the store to *cancel* the order (which you can easily do online). They seemed genuinely shocked when I explained that I wanted to take home the item I had ordered and came all the way to the store to pickup. What a gong show. I'll never ever use this store for in store pickup again.

Typically I have no interest in posting reviews, especially on massive chains like Best Buy, but this place is an honest to god nightmare. I've been to this store multiple times, its the closest Best Buy, and each time I see a lot of workers hanging around, not doing anything, while there are customers, including myself, needing help. Normally bad customer service wouldn't bug me in a huge store like this, but the fact that I saw 6 employees just hanging around customer service, while there was 1 employee running the till with a huge lineup, blows my mind. If you can, avoid this Best Buy. I sure wont go there again

Live beside this Best Buy, the store security alarm rings very often after midnight in the past one year. I wrote this comment at 3:20 am and it has been ringing for 3 hours, I really want to talk 'F' word to their manager. Their manager should response to the alarm as soon as possible, but he do not really care. I tried to talk to workers in this store, no one really cares because they don't live near the store. This Best Buy should not be here, or they might need a better, more responsible manager. If anyone lives near this store and has been bothered by their faulty alarm, please also say something.

Worst customer service ever, i order apple watch 7 on last friday and the attendant told us the watch is in Edmonton and it will be delivered to the store in couple days as i wanted to gift this to somebody . However, when i came to the store today they said there is no delivery date of the product and its in Ontario and they can’t say when it will be delivered and they said they can’t cancel or refund or do anything in that and i am stucked with this situation, i had paid in full amount for the watch and i am not getting anything. So now they spoiled special day for someone.

I went into this location about two months ago clueless about what charger to get my apple laptop. The staff was so great with hooking me up with a charger. I went home and unfortunately the charger crapped out on me after 4 chargers. I expect to go back into the store and have to buy a new one. I brought my old one with me for reference. When I went in and asked for assistance from one of the staff, I was presently surprised when they went ahead and did an exchange for me . I walked out of the store with a brand new working laptop charger for free! THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Not happy with the service here. Had an hour long conversation with someone regarding a tablet and stressed I wanted the keyboard that comes with the s7. Needless to say it wasn't sent with me and never clearly explained that it was extra. The display model shows the unti with keyboard attached for $1189 and no mention of a price for a keyboard. When inwent back to talk to the manager there was no concern that I was mislead and that their display is misleading and offered no help. He said you can return the unit if you are not happy or buy a keyboard at full price.

Requested a callback for the new online activation service for mobile phones TWICE, did not receive a call over the course of 3+ hours(still have not, business closing within minutes) Went in to see mobile specialist, received some pretty awful customer service, rep was not helpful at all and had the attitude that my questions were a chore. Told to use the online service, where I reiterated that I had and had been waiting hours. Opted to leave and wait for the call when I didn't receive any further succession. The man at the front door was very nice though

Had a great experience with the staff at the cellphone counter. Gabby and Stuart helped my girlfriend and I get the exact phones we needed, and were even nice enough to call our respective cell carriers and get us a better deal. We spent at least an hour at the counter with them; they got us absolutely everything they could, from a discounted phone case to a lower price on our upgrade fees. The manager on duty, whom I cannot remember the name of, was also more than willing to help us out, which really made it feel like a pressure free environment.

The worse customer service ever!!!! If I could give a negative I would! We bought a washer and dryer and the sales person assured us that it will be ready for pick up after 2 days. We got to the store and it still wasn’t ready then the manager would not help us load it to the truck. He offered to refund us instead of helping us load both the washer and dryer. What a waste of time! The sales people there work really hard to get business and this store manager would rather just do refunds instead of actually helping the customers. So disappointing.

Worst service I’ve received in a retail setting. Cashier didn’t know how to check stock, and stock online was not accurate, even though calling the number directs you to the website. The other employees were just standing around the tills and chatting, not helping at all. Gone are the days of real customer service. Our cashier lazily checked the little cage where they house what we were looking for, verified that they had stock in the system and lazily glanced at the giant pile of games behind her, not actually checking the stacks for the title.

Generally a decent store, I have gone here from time to time for years. Some days I get hounded by staff asking if I need help finding anything, or sometimes I have days like last week where I get treated like the Invisible Man (while the staff had no problem helping other people). That's too bad because I was going to make a major purchase when I was there last week but ended up (successfully) taking my business elsewhere. Hopefully they can find a more middle ground for service rather than being at one extreme or the other when you come in.

Amazing customer service. Curtis and Jitender are by far the most amazing staff at any best buy or retail store in general that I have ever had. They are patient and helpful and helped me with my purchase a full hour after the store had closed. I walked out with great deals on several different items and will be receiving my new home theatre systems in a few days, delivered and fully installed and calibrated in my home by specialists. I'm very excited and highly recommended this location I'm particular for all of your best buy needs.

I bought Samsung SSD 860 Evo 500 GB From Best Buy costs me 119.99 $ the same price on Amazon. To my surprise the USB cable to connect the SSD to my laptop is not included and they don’t sell it ? At least two salers warned me that once The SSD package is open I can’t exchange it or turn it back. They offered me a toaster for 60$ instead of a USB cable for 17 $ ! After receiving SATA cable and connecting SSD to My laptop it seems that Samsung magician software Is not working ! In other words “ this drive is not supported”

I wanted to reach the store to have software programs added to my new laptop before picking it up. All you will reach is the world's worst customer service hotline. Shame on you! I wasted time and I'm deeply upset. A hotline is always a reflection of the company. If you have any questions you have to visit the store which is unacceptable!!!!! Update The day before I was supposed to get my laptop, they informed me that it isn't available anymore. Now I have to return for a refund. Total waste of my time!!!!!!!!!!!

I believe the gentleman that helped my mum and I was named Tom; he was incredibly helpful and polite. We came to this location to get my mum a webcam but they were out of stock; rather than just send us away Tom used his own phone to help us reserve the item at another location to make sure we got the product my mum needed ASAP. All the employees here were super friendly and greeted us in a legitimately nice and professional manner. Definitely can recommend this Best Buy. Thank you to the staff here!

ASH At The Edmonton Downtown BEST BUY STORE Provided Me With "FIRST-CLASS" And "EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE" In The Month Of July 2023 When I First Met ASH In Person!...For Example; ASH personally escorted me to the right department to purchase a printer cable for my laptop computer...AND....ASH explained plenty more useful and detailed factual information to me relevant to me purchasing an OLED TV....ASH Is Truly A Diplomatic Ambassador Of Excellent Customer Service....Thank You Very Much ASH!

Friendly staff, but I'm not certain what the purpose of this store is. The last four times I have gone here, they haven't had what I wanted in stock (despite their website saying otherwise). Each time I've been told just to go to one of the other Best Buys in the city. When Amazon will send you everything Best Buy sells in a day or two (usually for cheaper), it's a pretty weak sell to ask me to waste an hour+ of my time driving to another store and back. Best Buy seems to have given up trying.

I was here two days in a row. The first time was great. Good service, got lots of advice and suggestions. The second day, I had no one greet me, I had to search all over the store to find an associate to help me out. I also had questions about financing through fairstone....I got 3 different answers from 3 different people. If you don't know , then ask. They lost a big purchase because my questions weren't answered =\ Also, lacking in home products like humidifiers and those sorts of items .

Other than having to wait a couple minutes for a cashier to help me at the pickup/online order desk, which was understandable during Christmas, my experience at this store was quite pleasant. The cashier was very friendly and he added my phone number to their system and updated my contact info when I was told at Best Buy's north location a couple weeks prior that it wasn't possible. Haven't shopped here a ton but it was possibly the best experience I've had in at a Best Buy in Edmonton.

Was sent an email that I had 3 days to pick up my order then get a call saying it's not 3 and I have to today and I don't even live near the city where the store is. It even states on the email and text I have till closing the next day to pick up my orders. And the stores won't even accept calls you can only speak with the main customer service not the acutal store's or the person who called you. Worst service I've dealt with recently would give a zero star but it won't let me.

I was definitely ready to leave a not-so-pleased review after waiting a while to be helped, however, the general manager and Paul in computers changed my whole experience. The GM took the time to learn, and remember my name while I'm sure juggling a million other things. Paul was excellent from start to finish, and definitely went above and beyond to make sure I got exactly what I needed! I'm so happy with my experience at this store, I will definitely be returning!

Devlin @ Geek Squad in this location is an absolute hero!!! We're not from Edmonton & when my Dad was rushed via ambulance to Royal Alex hospital, my phone (which I run 75% of my business from) refused to charge. Devlin was friendly, knowledgeable & quick to step in - he located the issue & not only found an economical solution, he also quick charged my phone for me & had me back on my way in 10 minutes. HIGHLY recommend paying this young man a visit.

Today, I had wonderfull experience at Best Buy Edmonton downtown. At the very beginning a gentlemen, helped me to buy headphone which I was looking for. I am so sorry I forget his name. And then Kyle helped me to buy new Samsung phone. She give me such a great deal, I wasn't even there to buy new phone. But I made my mind to do so. She save my time my money and I left very happy. I recommend this place for sure. It was such a great team work by all employees.

Came in to buy 4 of the new Google nest security cameras, a flood light and the thermostat. The employees were far more interested in just talking to eachother instead of helping a customer out. Thank goodness for the Google store and online shopping like Amazon. Customer server at these in-store retailers sure have gone down hill over the years. Bring back Future shop. At least their employees were on top of ya to help and get that commission.

Store was nearly empty, as it was middle of a work day. But I still had to wait until someone showed up to the counter. There was no way, that I could find, to notify staff that I was at the pickup counter waiting. What I ordered was ready to go, and once I got served the pickup was quick and easy. The location of the pickup counter was at the very back of the store, but there was plenty of signage around so it was easy to find.

We spontaneously stopped in to see if they could help with my phone. The charging port wasn't working, and luckily I was covered under warranty. Since we hadn't planned on getting a new phone, nothing was backed up. The friendly staff, both in the cell shop and where they wiped the old one were extremely helpful in assisting me get all my contacts and photos. Do not buy their extended warranties. When futureshop was around, the speaker on my ipad stopped working. So I took it in, and they gave me a new one in a week. Then i bought the warranty for my phone with bestbuy. When the phone stopped charging, i took it back and they wanted me to give my credit card information over the phone because I needed to pay for the new phone first and get reimbursed later. Just buy online

They have good discounts, the product I wanted was in stock and I was in and out in 10 mins. But the product I purchased was in a larger box, almost fit in their largest shopping bag. So not THAT big. I was walking 20 minutes home so I asked if they had tape that I could make a handle with. I literally saw packing tape on the counter behind him and he said word for word, “sorry, no. You’re on your own”. Just wow

I ordered a Google Home so that I could quickly pick it up at lunch. They called when I was running late, and when I did come (within a couple of hours of ordering), they had to grab part of my order from the shelf. They also had trouble applying a sale (I bought two of the same item and only one had the sale price). I got a phone from Best Buy. The previous agent provided somewhat misleading information about the conditions explained to me that only became apparent later. Best Buy legitimately could have, by the letter of the law, just forced me to pay and walked away but honourably recognised that the person had caused similar issues and provided an incredibly generous means of rectifying the situation. I was here for the first time and I was happy with the COVID-19 guidelines in place at the store right from the door. The guys at this store was very helpful with the selection of chromebook for me. Even though my first preference is not available, I got something closer to my choice. The store is clean and the ambience is great. The price of the computer is also comparable to other stores.

This location is relatively small. Went here to help a friend looking to upgrade her cellphone. We found what we we're looking for pretty easily. The Best Buy mobile associate who helped us was helpful and friendly, didn't push the most recent devices when my friend indicated she didn't need them. He helped her get a pretty good rate and gave her a discount on a case for the new phone, too.

It took me just under 5 hours to get through not only a debit outage, card limit issue, and withdrawal issue, but a picky and expecting taste in PC's to top it off. I went in to buy some wireless earbuds and like other reviewers said, it was really hard to find an employee to help me. I went around the store asking for help from 4 different people and none of them were engaging with other customers. The staff were all busy talking to each other... This is a smaller Best Buy compared to most. Parking is absolutely not an issue at this location. They gave all the essentials offered at any Best Buy. Great Best Buy. While I did shop during Covid-19, the store had tons of great policies in place to keep people safe. Moreover, the shelves were neat and everything was easy to find. This location is terrible. Go to the one in south common. Nobody helps you here at the downtown location and their TV displays are terrible.
