We looked at several moving companies - they pack and move us - and box type moving companies - we pack. We finally settled on Big Steel Box because they answered all of our questions, repeatedly without issue. It was such an easy process, we put in our order, gave them the date, which we had to change and they were very accommodating with that. The driver's that they hire were very professional, knew what they were doing and were very respectful of our stuff. They made the process look so easy. We packed up and moved from one province to another and then put our stuff in storage for two months. There was not an issue at all. We packed the canister but they obviously took great care with it as we only had two casualties - bent snowboard goggles and broken glass on a cheap picture. These two casualties had to do with our packing not their moving. Nothing else was damaged. I highly recommend them. Ensure that you ask questions and understand all the fees. And when you pack, pack smart and securely and your valuables should arrive safely. Thank you Big Steel Box. We have already recommended you to several people.

I do not recommend!!!! Buyer beware that there is a risk of having your driveway pad damaged which can cost you thousands of dollars. If you can avoid using a container I strongly suggest you use a moving truck and have them park on the street instead. Just imagine the truck that drops off and picks up the containers are heavy enough alone and then add a 20,000 lb container to it and then have it drive on and off your driveway (and even over your grass). Our driveway was 10 years old but had no idea that this could happen. We were not made aware by them directly or in their contract that there is a risk of damage to your driveway and now they are not willing to accept any liability nor did they offer any sort of rental discount. This was the last thing we would have wanted to deal with when moving and the new owners are now put out by having to wait for it to be fixed and then not having the use of their driveway during repairs. Please take all this into consideration before you sign the dotted line.

Called them at 9 am the day of the delivery to find out a time when they will be coming. Their representative told me that didn’t know but would find out and call me back. After 5 hours no call. I call them back again looking for an update because I’ve been waiting around all day for a call. I asked to speak to a manager and I was told that the manager is dealing with a family emergency. I call back and got the original representative Naomi I spoke to 5 hours earlier and asked what’s going on. She pretended that she wasn’t the one who said they would call back then admitted it was her. I again ask to speak to a manager and suddenly one is available? I told him what went on is going on and asked when my box was going to be delivered. Andrew the manager had no idea when it was coming. These guys are a mess to deal with

I tapped Big Steel Box to get 2 20ft sea cans moved from Edmonton to Calgary. I had no idea what would be involved as it was my first time getting this done. There are alot of factors to consider when moving a container such as the amount of space available for the pick up and delivery, the true weight of the container as this affects what they need to get the job done and will save the consumer money as they wont need to return due to misinformation about the pickup, finding the right people to make the move happen on time and safely and other factors. Andrew and the team asked the right questions, kept me in the loop as to what was going on and ensured this went smooth. Thank you Team Big Steel Box for all your help. I'll be using you as my go to to make these moves happen on time and keep me from stressing!!

BigSteelBox delivered the unit on time as planned. The driver did a good job of placing it where I requested, though it was somewhat difficult. Due to circumstances I had to extend the rental. My only negative experience was that when I called to have the container picked up, they scheduled pick up a week from the time I called them, rental was due during that week, and I was charged another full month's rental after the container had already been scheduled to be picked up. At over $200.00, this was a very unpleasant surprise. After BigSteelBox reached out to me, I explained the situation, and they gave me a complete refund for the month they overcharged me for. No fuss, no issues, they offered and executed without delay. Definitely a good company to deal with. I amended my original 3 star rating, to 5 stars.

When we needed a container I went first to the other guy (PODS) with no luck. I called Big Steel Box then and explained we needed a box at a city location for a couple of months & then moved to a rural location for a undetermined time frame. no problem. He laid out all the costs for me. sent the contract via email & the box was delivered 3 day later. When they moved it to the rural property it was within 2 days. I called to have it removed on a Monday & they took it away Tuesday. It can be expensive initially ( you pay the delivery, moving, & removal cost up front).The Monthly rental is reasonable. I felt for the service & ability to move into our home at our own pace worth every penny. I will recommend Big Steel Box to anyone who is moving.

Best decision we made. I spoke to a number of different people at big steel box before, during, and after our move and they were all great. No such thing as a silly question. The container was spotless. It arrived exactly when they said it would. It was picked up on time. We were kept informed as to its location. It was returned on time and picked up within an hour of our request. It was less than half the price of a full service move. Not one thing was damaged in this move. NOTE: we used their recommended movers to load. Movers can maximize the use of the container and load properly. Also, we wrapped all our furniture in blankets . I would recommend tbig steel box for storing and/Or moving to anyone.

Worst moving experience possible. Save your money and move with pickup trucks. The pod that was GUARANTEED to arrive between 8AM and 5PM which is a giant window! Was over 4 hours late! My help had all left for the night and I was left to unload alone! What good is a GUARANTEE if you are that late?! Oh and yes the $100 that they gave me as compensation is a pathetic attempt at best to compensate me. I will NEVER use this company again and I will make sure anyone I know doesn't either. They were given the chance to make this right and they chose to insult me instead. I would rate a 0 out of 5 but I need to give a 1 star to be able to post a review.

So we thought we had an agreement with the new owners of our house that our storage box could stay til Monday, they got possession on a Friday, and earlier then agreed cause we were excited to move. Nope not the case, the minute thay got possession (I knew we should of waited another week) they threatened to sue and have our stuff removed. So I called BSB panicked. Within an hour they had a private contractor out to our old property, picked up our container and delivered to our new property. So kind and amazing. Hind sight is 20-20, don't let ppl move in early to your house until you can get everything off the property. Thank you again!!

We used Big Steel Box for our last move, which required a month of storage as well, and we were very happy with how everything went. Moving is stressful enough, and Big Steel Box delivered the storage unit on time (availability was great, even with short notice) and once we had it filled they came to pick it up when they said they would and while our things were in storage nothing was damaged and it was delivered to our new house on time as well. The price was very reasonable and the staff were always friendly, helpful, and available. I would recommend Big Steel Box for moving and/or storage without hesitation and we will use them again!

My daughter and grandson were looking for a way to move her things across country. Jagar from Big Steel Box gave reasonable quotes and because we didnt have a confirmed move was more than willing to give us he time needed to sort out the dates. Jagar was wonderful by getting back to me to see how things were and to let me know Big Steel Box was here when we needed them without making me feel pressured to use their services Should I need to rent storage in the future I will be sure to contact Big Steel Box as they were most helpful and patient.  This speaks to the importance your company places on their customer service. Impressive!

We used BigSteelBox for an inter-province move with uncertain move-in dates (new house still under construction). Worked very well as a hybrid between a moving/shipping company and storage unit. They transported my container to their yard closest to my final destination and held it there until I was ready to receive it on my driveway. I had access to my unit with 24 hour notice while they stored it. It was a good service because of the flexibility and ease with which a solution can be tailormade for each unique situation.

Container shipping is where its at for moving. Big Steel Box is a a first class companywith knowledgeble staff. Its the third party contractors that definately need a better manner in how they do business. Arguing with customers, when no confirmation with end user about day and time of delivery makes me wonder about customer service. For all, make sure that a confirmation is made for day of delivery. NOT I’m here where are you. Suggest the Delivery contractor phone day before to ensure success with delivery.

I was very skeptical before, but it ended up to be the best moving experience I could ever expect. From the Sales Rep: Amantha Fedick who patiently (and promptly) answered all my questions, which seems to be never ending at times to the time our trailer was delivered/picked up by the Langley location - it was on point. Our experience with Edmonton location was the same - delivered and picked up as planned. And one thing that really amazed me, all my breakables were intact! Highly recommended!

Being able to pack and unpack at our own pace was fantastic. The staff were very helpful and friendly, especially the office staff, but also the delivery truckers. The box was great - totally safe from the elements and mice. The security setup on the lock was nice - you aren't going to break into one of these babies without some serious tools. Everything about the experience was great. AND it was cheaper than other lesser boxes (such as PODs). I wholehearted recommend BigSteelBox.

This place did charge me extra after I had signed a contract. Love that they delivered the box and I could pack it myself. Cost to look at the storage more than once a month. Mon to Fri 9 to 5. Not convenient. Would not use as long time storage again. July 2016 addition; this company charged my credit card 4 month after my contract ended. My advice watch this company that they don't over bill or better still GO WITH ANOTHER COMPANY WHO KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING.

When I suddenly found out that I was going to need temporary storage of our household goods, I called BigSteel for help. They were able to deliver a big steel container later that week. It arrived on time, was picked up as promised and then when we got the go ahead to move into our new place, they delivered the box to the front door on time and were able to retrieve the empty container soon after I called for pickup. I was totally satisfied.

I compared a few product & thought that Big Steel box would be the most robust & best quality. I figured that a strong storage solution would be the best so I could load as heavy as possible & save myself some moving costs. Delivery was on time, I had some concerns with getting the box onto my driveway, but the driver dealt with it. No muss no fuss. Pickups were on time & quick. Overall a VERY positive experience.

Great service from the office to the driver dropping off the box. Box was super clean, driver was friendly, considerate of where wanted the box and early for every drop off and pickup. Reserving/Booking and billing was very smooth, they responded quickly to my email requests and helped us with Providing info required for city permits. Highly recommend using them over other providers we researched in Edmonton.

Big Box was most reliable in their delivery and pick up of the pod. A phone call was placed prior to the delivery as well as the final pick up. It was made clear that the delivery might take time so to prepare for that in the month's schedule. I was most impressed that from the time of pick up to delivery was a week which allowed me for a two week unpacking. I would recomend this company.

They took care of getting our belongings to a new province safely and without any damage. By allowing you to have the box for 30 days you can pack slower and better. They showed up on time every time and even checked in to see how we were doing while unpacking and came to pick up the box early. If we ever move again this is the service and way we will go. Highly recommended .

The opportunity to measure a business doesn't truly come until that business makes a mistake. Big Steel Box made a logistics mistake during our move. They were transparent, apologetic, worked extremely hard to get our box to us asap and offered fair compensation for our troubles. I wish more businesses operated with that kind of integrity. I'd use them again for sure.

Can't trust this business to deliver, booked and paid for 2 box rentals for over $1200 over a month ago. Received a call 5 days before delivery stating they have no boxes available.....luckily enough I found another company to take care of our storage needs. Not worth the risk in my opinion to use this company as moving requires confirmed dates and follow through.

The pick up and drop off experience was great. However I only used the box 2 days more than a month use and was told I would charged for the whole month rental - which in my opinion is not fair. I was told I would only be charged 50% if the month fee and have contacted big steel box several times for the 50% refund and have had not heard back. Sadly disappointing

I was quoted 200$ for empty drop off and 200$ for empty pick up. This worked out to close to 9$ a mile. Industry standard is between 1-3$ a mile depending on the complexity. All the competitors came in at 90-100$ which is far closer to industry standard and more then half the cost of Big Steel Box. Make sure you check your per mile quote and compare it.

What an amazing service! The one company in Edmonton that is not gouging people in need. The container is clean and offers a very high level of protection against the elements and invasive pests. The staff are great to deal with and explain the process clearly. If you are using anyone else other than B.S.B. you are getting the short end of the stick!

No damages , fair rates and storage of furniture, as two week storage was needed because new home construction was not quite ready . I used them in the past awesome company but this morning a driver was on the highway tailgating drivers and weaving in between vehicles and speeding through construction zones. Maybe teach the younger drivers to be more Patient. Big vehicles cause big damage drive safe
