Never ever rent from budget me and my son went to Disneyland in there rental and there was hundreds of ants biting us and the lady had the nerv to yell at me calling me a lier and every other name in the book I will never ever give them a try again very unprofessional staff I hope no one rents from them how unprofessional they where oh ya I stayed with the big infested vehicles to .please don’t rent they just charged my card two days after I return my rental and I paid it in full when I got it they took a $250 deposit on top of $400 for the rental on top of another $65 they charge my card two days after I took the rental in when I was supposed to be getting a refund because their car was infested with bedbugs and aunts so they unlawfully charge my card $65 for what they didn’t even tell me for what I would never ever rent from budget again because not only can you get a hold of anybody in their office and if you do they’re extremely rude so please I’m not lying I advise anybody that tries to get from them not to it’s a horror story just a big nightmare I regret for the rest of my life please I beg you guys don’t rent from them. Since they don’t want to answer my phone calls and they want to yell at me I am putting in a fraudulent claim on my bank because I did not authorize them to charge my bank 60 some dollars

Rented a vehicle on July 21, 2023 @JFK was told to pick up the vehicle in parking spot C1. No vehicle in that spot. Had to walk back to office and was told just take vehicle in C2. Off i go to retrieve vehicle in C2. All good there was a vehicle in that spot equal to the vehicle i rented. Unfortunately about 31 miles into my journey the no washer fluid light goes off and the full gas tank i paid for was only half a tank. A short time later when rain started to fall i found out that the wiper blades were not operational. About that time i was pulled over by by police for registration tags that expired in March of 2022. Unfortunately that was just the first time i was pulled over in the week i had the rental for that same reason. When contacting Budget customer service for compensation for a vehicle that should not have been in the rental fleet and was obviously not serviced before my trip. I was treated with no empathy or resolution. This self serve customer service is a bad idea. I cancelled my next 2 Budget rentals, was charge a $50.00 cancellation fee for each. And lost the fee for a return empty and the cost of a half tank of gas. Needless to say I will never rent from Budget/Avis again and suggest you do the same.

My son called the location on Montgomery in Albuquerque New Mexico to ask them specific questions about renting a car and that I’d be paying for it but I live in another city however I’d be using my credit card. He was in an accident and needs a rental car for a few days so we decided to go through budget. He was told on the phone that it wouldn’t be a problem what all he needed to provide so he got an Uber to that location And was told he couldn’t rent the car because I wasn’t there. To add insult to injury, he had the lady at the front on speakerphone and my gosh, good thing I wasn’t there because I would have ripped her a new one. Talk about a severe attitude. Ugly, unprofessional, demeaning, and she lacked class with her comments. Saying she’s been there for 15 years and she knows for a fact nobody’s ever said those things and if they did then they must want to lose their job, just absolutely horrible service. I will never ever recommend that place to anyone. Someone needs to seriously replace that person at the front. I don’t care if she’s been there 20 years. An attitude like hers has no place in a business such as that.

The location lied and said that I kept my rental for a week when I rented and returned the same day. They initially rried to charge me $1400 extra dollars(my bank blocked the charge), then charged me an additional 650+(this charge was posted). Thankfully, I was aware of security cameras near the rental (neighboring businesses in the same strip mall) location and kept my fuel and car wash receipts. After speaking with my lawyer, he notified me that Budget just settled a multi-million dollar suit from fraudulently lying on its customers. After providing my evidence, I was given a full refund, of course. Indeed, I had forgotten about this when renting from Budget. They'll never receive another penny from me, ever, even if they're the last auto rental company in existence. #scamming customers

Worst place ever on car rentals. Would give no stars if could. Rented a car online and when to go pick up was told that had to do a 100 dollar deposit which was never told not said in the fine print. And they still ran my card even tho paid online. Not only that but they put my spouses name as main driver and they couldn't find my name when getting the car. And then they had to use my card again when returning the car. And when asked for why they needed my card they couldn't tell my why. Will never rent from them again. And not only that but they charged my account fifty bucks without my knowledge not consent. When I called the budget number to see what was going on. The guy that I talked to was very rude and was like he didn't care or willing to fix the problem

Called to get some information on how their online car rentals work and the lady who answered was nice to start but when I asked why they can't do anything ahead of time for customers, she literally said "you ain't gotta be rude to me lady. You gotta go bye!" And then hung up on me. Rudest and most childish customer service at this location. The online rental stuff is a complete misconception and they can't tell you if your approved or denied until the day of your rental so your left scrambling if you get denied. That's definitely not customer service whereas that leaves their customers stranded in tight situations. I will definitely never go here.

NEVER RENT FROM HERE!! Today we picked up a rental car, our card was charged 3 times for our rental. The customer service agents in this office and at the 800 number are unable to reverse any of the over charges until 48 to 72 business day hours have passed (it is a Friday). Our account is drained (as this is a long rental for trip pertaining to our business). Sad that such a large company cannot make it a priority to take care of their own customers. They also are unwilling to give any discount for our troubles except a free 2 day voucher for a FUTURE rental, as if we would EVER rent from them again!

Happy Customer here! When I had car trouble last month I had a corporate discount with another national company that was supposed to give me the best rate they offer for a week rental. The Budget Car Rental rate for the same year - make - model vehicle is $89 LESS than that so-called "best" rate of the other guys. I used the pre-pay reservation, and the car was ready when promised, clean, and fueled for the trip. Counter staff was friendly and helpful. This review is for the Budget Car Rental at the corner of Montgomery and San Mateo.

Have been going to this office for years when I visit Albuquerque as it's close to my parents home and they offer good prices. Always friendly great service too! Recently I picked up a car at their office on Yale (crowne plaza) and as I drove off, I realized the car was too small for me...didn't feel good to drive. So I stopped at another Budget/Avis office...this one...and asked if I could swap cars. It was not an issue for them and I was much happier with a different model! Great Service always!

Have been renting a car for trips at this location for about 3 years now. I believe he is the manager of the location and I apologize for not remembering his name. He is always very friendly and helpful and even knows me now. As soon as he sees me he has my keys ready. Cars have always been a great condition and very clean. Great Job

It was fine. Very professional staff. I asked to see the car a few days early so I could plan seating and packing arrangements, and they were helpful. Picking up the car was easy, returning it was easy. Good job.

Wonderful renting experience. The rental car was clean and drove with no issues. The staff was friendly, professional, and quick to help me get on my way. Will rent through Budget again.
