Customer service at all levels is pretty poor. I’ll say that there are probably reasons for this regarding short staffing and Covid measures that make everyone testy, but the experience I had trying to return my vehicle was not good. Signage of where to go is confusing, but if you miss it you just loop around. Once I pulled in I was directed by a security member to pull around a parked vehicle. There was a customer returning their vehicle who was standing by that car and in a position that made it impossible to navigate around her and the vehicle parked in the spot to the left. Apparently that didn’t matter to the security agent who kept motioning me to go. After the customer left her spot I attempted to pull around and it was obvious to me that if I tried to continue I was going to end up damaging my rental and one if not both cars I was being told to squeeze between. At that point the. Parking attendant who was at least 300 feet away started barking at me to continue forward. I rolled my window down and attempted to inform them that I was not comfortable with doing that. The agent didn’t listen to me or didn’t care as they became more insistent. I tried again to somewhat calmly say that I was not comfortable driving the car as they were instructing me. The agent then complained in an increasingly hostile tone that I was blocking the entrance. At this point I was done trying to stay calm and rather forcefully asked if they were going to pay for the damage I’d do if I complied with their request, or if they would like to drive the car. The attendant still insisted that I do as they asked. I loudly said I wasn’t going to. They then asked if they wanted me to have them park the car. This is why I said earlier they weren’t listening. At that point I gladly got out of the car, got my bags, and left the key. I have ADHD and social anxiety disorder, so a situation like this has pretty much made this a morning I’ll never want to remember as well as my wife. I would ask that anyone working that position gets some soft skills training not just to benefit the customer but for themselves.
First, the truck was very dirty. Piece of french fries, peanuts etc on the floor, dashboard was dirty too. I made sure it was written on the rental contract so I won't get charged for cleaning fee. Second, we were forced to rent it for 3 days, and their reasoning was so I have enough time to move, don't have to rush, drive tired, etc. Well, I needed a big truck for towing a car, so I wasn't moving anything in the truck. Even if I was, it was from EL Paso to Albuquerque. I don't need 3 days for that little trip. They make it sound like it's about safety, when it's not!! Too bad I couldn't park the truck and trailer somewhere so I could keep it for 3 days. But I had no choice but return it after one day. They probably rented it out, so basically they got paid twice. Dirty thing these rental companies are doing, but what are the costumers can do? They should have some exception when someone just wants to tow a car. Actually they shouldn't decide that you need 3 days to move. Again, it's not about safety, it's about they making more money on the rental!! We were told that we have the option to rent it out as a round trip. Yeah but then it's like . 99 a miles, plus $39.99, plus fees, etc. So it would have been a lot more. Tried to call and talk to someone, was hoping that someone understands me and give me a little break, but nope. Like a parrot , they just repeated that it's a company policy, and they want me to be safe, not rush and drive tired!
Rented a truck one way from El Paso, TX to Albuquerque, NM. The pick up was great. However the drop off was a bad experience. I had called a day before returning to see if there was a late night drop off, which there wasn't, but the gentleman who informed me there wasn't was very rude and seemed to threaten me saying " If that truck stays here over night and it gets stripped by someone, they will charge me for every little thing they can see". I understand its under my care but I'm sure there is a nicer way to explain. The next morning I go fill up the truck which I was told has a 32 gallon tank. The gas gauge on the truck was stuck on 1/2 even after putting 30.888 gallons in. So I took in the truck with the receipt in hand to show them it is full b/c I had a little under a 1/4 tank before filling up. The rep goes and checks the truck and then comes back and says if they go try to fill it up, and anything goes in, they will charge me $30 extra! SO even if .25 cents went in, I would be charged $30 extra. I told her it was ridiculous and she was basically playing with my money and I told her she and Budget were not authorized to charge my card especially since it was due to a mechanical error in their truck. So I am waiting to make sure they do not charge me at the moment.... VERY disappointed.
Roaches in the vehicle and no apology or willingness to exchange vehicle upon first request. After I requested a full refund, another truck was suddenly available. Would have been satisfied with just an apology and easy swapping out of vehicle, however instead of satisfying an unhappy customer, they appeared to be committed to amplifying an already unpleasant situation. My initial $600 bill was decreased to $30 charge for the "usage" of the vehicle when I drove to my house and drove back with filling up the tank upon finding the bugs. I would be happy to remove this review if I get the full refund as I requested in first place. Manager was not on site or available during throughout.
If you ever need a truck rental, this is one of the very best, my experience was sooner great from the start, CARMEN, the reply who howled me, was exceptional and professional and extremely helpful, I did the whole contract with her over the phone while I was filling it out, she helped me all the way, just make SURE, YOU HAVE ALL THAT YOU NEED AND CAN PROVIDE THE RIGHT INFO TO HELP YOURSELF. the truck did leak a bit up towards the front of the cab, nothing badly ruined but it needs to be checked out, the leak inspection was waaay past due. But, all in all, this move was better than any because of their help, thank you very much Carmen.
Ugh, car rentals suck in general in my opinion, so this isn't fully directed at this location, except for the fact the dude talked wayyyy too much, wanting to share his stories of being in the business for 15yrs. Cool guy, but we got places to go! But in general, the whole debit card debacle is terrible. A person with a major debit card shouldn't have to be subject to a credit check, deposit, or flat out denied for not having a credit card. And the price for needing to drop a car off at a different location is craziness. The Ford focus was nice though.
Don't rent here, they've moved but never informed to the customer. We had to spend more money using an Uber to get to the Albuquerque airport and rented from there. We had to pay double for renting (airport fees and so) and the car Budget gave us was disgusting. It was dirty, smelly, the chairs had stained all over, wasn't vacuum it, no car wash either. Terrible experience for such a nice place like Albuquerque.
Wanted to charge me $100 for "excessive hair" (what they explained is it's actually "any loose hair that wasn't there when you took the vehicle."). Richard took good care of me when I got the car (although the system overcharged me and it was a pain to get it fixed). Branch Manager waived the $100 but apparently he "can't promise what they'll do at the airport when they clean it" so I still may be charged.
If I could give LOWER than one star I would!!!! These people are CROOKS and the owner is a self righteous A**hole!!! Tried to charge me $100 EXTRA on a reservation that was booked and ALREADY PAID FOR!!! I will NEVER EVER do business at this location ever again and I would NOT recommend these people to ANYONE!!!! CROOKS!!!!
I arrived late to pick up my car and they had cancelled my reservation. They would only offer me another car at $15 more per day. I had no notice that my reservation would be cancelled. No offer to honor the original price. Very dissatisfied with customer service at this location.
This was our drop off location and the customer service was low grade. Rude employees that did not care to help us out. Spent over 600 bucks and was sent back to refuel the truck for 2 gallons. Or else we would have been charged $30 plus price per gallon.
The car we rented was great I loved it but the prices for everything was wrong u read one thing on line then they pull more prices out at u that's not right if ur going to rent a car online the place where u are renting it should tell u everything
The management of this company is hands down one of the nicest man I have delt with in a long time. Awesome customer service and GREAT RATES. We kept extending our trip in Texas because we found so much to do and they kept giving us great rates.
It was a good experience. Last minute needing a car. I got it right away. The car I got was a Mazda Rave. It had good gas milage. Price was reasonable. Easy to rent and return. Staff very friendly and professional. Would recommend it.
Worse rental car company ever!! Every time I have rented from them I have been screwed out of money. I have followed all of the guidelines to a tee and I still get ripped off by this company!! Never again will I go here!!!
Best prices in town for rentals. New and clean cars available. Easy in and out. Location is great being middle of ABQ. Gas stations close to do final top off.
My fourth truck rental here. Always polite and professional, with helpful tips. No problems with the equipment. A great place to rent a truck.
