02/03/18: WARNING!! Please read if your prescription was "NOT COVERED BY YOUR INSURANCE " My son went to this CVS in Mira Mesa to fill up his prescription. The pharmacy technician told my son his pain medication was not covered by his insurance..so he had to pay $56.99. DID YOU KNOW?... that when a prescription is not covered by insurance, the pharmacy's responsibility is to call your doctor to check IF your prescription can be switched to a generic drug of a different dose..yes, before they make you pay out of pocket, they have to call your doctor to try to get you something else that is covered by your insurance. MY CONCERN is... how many people with insurance have PAID for medication that could have been covered? How many people left CVS Mira Mesa with no medication because they could not afford to pay out of pocket for their prescription?.. I know for a fact that your pharmacist CAN call your doctor's office to switch your prescription to something that is covered by your insurance, if your doctor approves it. All it takes is a phone call to your doctor... but these pharmacy technicians don't want to spend 2 minutes calling your doctor. The pharmacist should at least give you the option to either YOU pay out of pocket OR THEY call your doctor to change your prescription so that YOU DON'T HAVE TO PAY. The pharmacy technician admitted she made a mistake and they should've called my son's doctor to try and switch the medication, she apologized for not doing the right thing, now I am waiting for the store manager's call (Lauren) on Monday 02/05/18 to let me know if we are getting a refund for the $56.99 my son paid only because of their mistakes. I will post the decision of Lauren, the store manager here... So next time they tell you "your prescription is not covered, you have to pay for it" make sure you ask this question "have you called my doctor to see if they can prescribe something similar that is covered by my insurance? " if you have insurance, DO NOT PAY FOR MEDICATION UNLESS YOUR PRESCRIPTION CAN NOT BE CHANGED BY DOCTOR'S ORDERS!! Manager's decision 02/06/18 I am finishing the review for this CVS mira mesa: I did hear back from Lauren the store manager and she was able to process my refund, I have to say the manager is doing her job correctly so if you ever have an issue at this store, ask for the manager to have it resolved. I appreciate the effort she made to fix someone else's mistake. Lauren definitely deserves a thumbs up! Good job Lauren. Only because of her, i give 3 starts to this store vs 1 star at the beginning of my complaint.
I'm hoping my review helps others, as I can't reach anyone at CVS to help me even though I tried many things before writing this review. I tried to schedule a covid vax booster. The website doesn't work, and the design is... not smart. Instead of showing you what time slots are available, they ask you to input your desired appt time then they tell you it's not available. They could *easily* just show a calendar of available time slots and let you select one. I've added video trying to make an appt from my computer, a snapshot trying to do it from the phone, and a snapshot of all the error messages. It says they're available on a certain day, then when you select that day, it says they're not available. See my video. So, I tried to call the number instead. It's an automated voice system, which asks you for your cell # then sends you a text message. The text message is a link to the broken website. So, I went there to make an appointment face-to-face. The pharmacist told me I had to call a number. I called the number she gave me, and it was the automated system which simply sent me a link to the broken website. With the pharmacist, I walked her through scheduling on my phone. She saw it have the error, then looked at me and said "that's why you need to call the number". Meaning, the number she just gave me to the automated system which sends me a link to the broken website. She somehow kept a straight face. tl;dr: Website is broken. Called number, which sent me a link back to the broken website. Went to speak to live person, she gave me a number to call, which was the number which sent me a link back to the broken website. Walked through this with an actual employee, and she acted like this was perfectly normal and somehow my fault. Dear CVS: There are FREE website add-ons which will allow you to set up competent scheduling on your website. As it is, you should not be given vaccination supplies are you are incapable of distributing them correctly.
I unfortunately have come down with a bad case of runners knee... I am in excruciating pain and finally broke down and drove to cvs to get a compression sleeve for my knee. It was just my luck that there was only one left in my size, and the box appeared to have been ripped open at one point and taped back together. So I took the sleeve out to examine it, and it was filthy. The sleeve itself was white and it had dirt marks all over it. It must have been a return. I was kind of surprised they put something like that back on the shelf.. but I was desperate at this point. I go to the checkout counter and show them the taped together box and dirty sleeve and the manager LAUGHED at me and said she wouldn't discount the product for that. Then she said that she would have to send it back to the manufacturer. Like what??? I probably would have bought it any ways even though she couldn't discount it because of how badly I needed one. But being laughed at?? This store needs new management!!
Jennifer Head Pharmacist is a class act and delivers excellent customer service every time. She is kind and understanding , but can be tough as nails if necessary. I have watched her over the years while standing in line. She helped me tremendously after a mix up returning from Europe Thanks to her guidance and expertise I was reimbursed.$ due from my health insurance co. Her coworkers adore her and I often hear laughter But do not get sloppy or careless She does not put up with that from her staff. A foreigner myself I watch her so patiently explaining to other foreigners what they may not understand. If somebody gets unruly, here comes get biggest strength She understand human nature and handles people you can not please with kindness and a smile. She knows what she can and can not do. She is this CVS biggest assets I hope she is happy here, I would hate to see her leave
Disappointed. I started going to this pharmacy after i got switched medications. It's convenient in the sense that it's down the street however I am leaving and switching to a different pharmacy for good. They would not let me get my prescription (though they reassured me they had it and reiterated 3 times) 1 day early even though technically you're allowed to up to 3 days early and I have through Kaiser and Sharp. and I'm going out of town tomorrow. Had this been my mothers antibiotics or medication for her crohns disease this would not be the case. They also last month screwed up and forgot to order my prescription so I was out for 2 days of my needed prescription. I have to special order my prescription from a manufacturer because I had bad experiences with the generic they offer. Very displeased.
CVS is our new insurance preferred pharmacy. It turned out it is the best pharmacy we ever used in Mira Mesa. Our experience in this pharmacy is a huge difference from another local pharmacy. Before we had to use a pharmacy in La Jolla due to the awful service we encountered in Mira Mesa. Every worker in this CVS is professional, friendly, patient and helpful. They answer phone calls in a highly timely manner and give clear guidance. They also kindly handled vaccinations for my husband and me, and thoughtfully arranged everything to make our vaccines done quickly and comfortably, although we arrived far earlier then our scheduled time. Their high standard professional service is impressive and unforgettable.
I would give it 0 stars if I could. Terrible service. Run from this store. I requested a prescription refill through the app in advance so I could come to store and just pick it up quickly l. I called later to confirm my request went through and they confirmed. I stopped by to pick up my prescription and guess what? They didn't refill it because they couldn't bill my insurance. Did anyone call me to tell me they were having issues? Nooo, they waited until I came to the store and tossed me around windows to get to the issue. Now I have to wait long because I really need the prescription today. CVS should really review this store's performance as they are seriously incompetent.
Everything is super expensive at CVS. The only thing they are “good” at is pharmacy. I thought I could save time going to CVS instead of busy Target to get cough medicine and orange juice. Can you believe CVS does not sell big orange juice bottles?! And cough medicine is almost twice as much at CVS compared to Target. I left CVS and went to Target. Surprisingly it was pretty quick at Target. I noticed that there was a long line at CVS with one or two cashiers. What a waste of time. I will never make the mistake of thinking I could save time going to CVS ever again!
The cashier Raja made odd loud comments about the products I was buying at checkout and it made me uncomfortable as the people behind me were listening. He even asked if I was feeling ok... I felt the need to point out that the medicines where for children, to which he replied: "oh... THAT must be fun...., I hope they don't have any problems taking these...." his intentions may have been good but I left the store with an uncomfortable feeling and worried if I made the right choice of products. before his comments I hadn't doubt my choice...
This place is terrible, always under staffed and the pharmacy service is very bad. Always call my prescriptions in, by phone and/or iPhone app, and it is almost never ready; not fun to be told you have to wait another 10-15 minutes after waiting in a long line. Also they have an automated system to remind you that your prescriptions are available, asked them several times to remove me from the call list and they can't seem to be able to that either. I've had it with them and moved somewhere else. Save yourself the trouble!
I have been a customer of this CVS for over a year, I recently moved and am using a new CVS Pharmacy. I had a prescription that was filled at this store, and I was in the area. I stopped in to get it and the insurance had not been applied to the prescription. The young lady was very helpful and took care of the price correction and the new label and to the Pharmacist for approval. All in under 2 minutes. That is how you train your employees, to handle any situation and to do it with confidence. I am going to miss this CVS
Please stop here before going there. I had worst experience here. Rude customer service here. They treat customer like you owe them universe. I had a purchase and went there for return with out receipt. They told that you will get only 50% back. I told I have CVS card you can check my account but both Counter personal ‘Maria’ and manager was rude. I hav called cvs care and they emailed me receipt. When I get back and told them that you can do that too. Response was Go to other CVS...!! Really.... We never go there
Absolutely Horrible service. I have been their Pharmacy customer for more than 2 years now, and still they don't bother to keep a small footnote of my refills which have copay waiver. Every time I have to remind them. Every time i wait for around 45 minutes to get one refill done. And guess what today they refilled with 2mg pills while the doc prescribed 1mg. On top they had to make me pay for a tablet cutter to make it 1mg per intake. Very bad. Walgreens right across the street was much better.
Used to be the best but lately they are spread too thin, it's supposed to be 24hrs but the pharmacist is never back behind the counter no matter what time I come at. People tell you to wait 15mins or 20mins and it ends up being over an hour to hours. especially as a disabled person it is getting very hard on us to fill rxs here. We used to use the one in Rancho Bernardo but it stopped being 24hours a few years ago, so we started using this one, now it's like this one isn't 24hours either...
Umm so they made a mistake with $1500 worth of my prescriptions. Only took a corporate investigation, 6 hours of my time on 7 different phone calls, and 1.5 months to get them to fix THEIR OWN MISTAKE. Also, shout out to the pharmacy tech named Rose who had the audacity to literally yell at me over the phone for several minutes on an unrelated occasion. Real classy. Really appreciated it. So that’s been my experience at the Mira Mesa CVS. If you get your prescriptions there, godspeed.
I drop by this CVS and it's always been a convenient place to get medicines or necessities. However, this location is the only MinuteClinic around Mira Mesa. I got charged $150 for a strep test, and they overcharged me $80 for an extra lab test I didn't need. Their practitioners only care about money so don't bother unless you are dying, and in that case, you should probably go to a real Urgent Care Center. At least they will give you proper diagnostic and treatment options.
My husband was heading from Urgent Care to pick up his called in prescription for Antibiotics around 8:30 pm Saturday night. I decided to call CVS Mira Mesa to see if they needed any information so he would not have to wait around. I was immediately placed on hold for 28 minutes & finally it seemed someone picked up to hang up without even answering. My husband ended up waiting to pick up his prescription for more than 35 minutes. Such a failure in patient experience.
I had an appointment for 7:00am, March 31st ,today .When I arrived for my appointment, they told me they had ran out of the covid vaccines. What's the purpose of making an appointment if they're not going to reserve a vaccine for you when you arrive? CVS should have emailed me or called to let me know they had no vaccines and to save my gas! Then, the pharmacist advised me to call to find out when they would have more vaccines. I think CVS should have to call to me.
Most CVS stores are about the same size, but this CVS seems much larger than the others. Maybe it's the way the store is laid out, whether it's less cluttered, or the shelves are shorter, I don't know. But it felt larger and more open. I was in here looking for a Bar Mitzvah card. This CVS has hundreds of cards but 0 bar mitzvah cards. Cashiers are friendly. Best part: it's open 24 hours. So if you need something in the middle of the night, this is the place to go.
Mira Mesa CVS is the WORST. Horrible wait times. Any other CVS has better service. The wait when you call is just as poor. Numerous visits to this Camino Ruiz store have been similar. I leave because of the wait and come back to the 24 hour facility and they are closed. Post your true hours. I'm still waiting for the text, I dropped off my rx at 7 it is 9:43, when I come back to pick up. I hope they are open and this is the last time I use this Camino Ruiz CVS
Wish Walgreens was still open 24 hours. Their customer service (and the snacks) was way better even at 2 am. Can’t believe The first time I shop here after my night shift and two employees walk by me without a decent greeting. And the cashier didn’t bother with courtesy at all throughout our transaction couldn’t even bother to tell me she was gonna ring me up. Graveyard shift sucks but if you sign up for it at least have some enthusiasm for the job.
Might be the worst cvs ever. I scheduled for my booster shots at this location. When I arrived, the lady who was working at vaccine place was super rude. And a few mins later, i got a text saying the appointment is canceled. When i tried to make another appointment at the kiosk, she shouted , “do you understand me?why are you still standing?” Amazing service. If you hate your job so much just quit. It will be easier for us and you as well.
I was visiting San Diego from out of state. We unexpectedly had to stay over a few days longer and I needed some of my medications. However, my insurance company did not want to pay for one of the medicines because it was too soon to refill it. Thank you to Hannah (I hope I spelled your name correctly) and Jennifer for all of their time and effort for getting a "vacation waiver" from my insurance company, so they would pay it.
Philip and Uyen were very helpful from the Pharmacy Department. Phillip spent time helping me find the product I needed. Uyen provided professional support in explaining the medication I needed, and she also helped me find the over the counter medication. She actually left her pharmacy station and calmly showed me the exact location of the medicine. No attitude or hostile tone. I felt highly valued.
Entire staff goes out of their way to be helpful. Everything from helping you locate items in the store, to working with your prescriber and insurance to get you the best possible solution in a very difficult medical insurance climate. I wish their Script Sync system was better, but that is not specific to this location. All in all, I couldn't ask for a better group of people.
This location has everything you need. We continue going to CVS for the rewards too. Nicholas helped us out without hesitation. He is very knowledgeable about membership and incentives. Thank you for being patient with us and answering all of our questions. We had a great experience here with our purchase because of Nick. .....Customer Service : ʘ‿ʘ
I took my boyfriend here to pick up his prescription after he had to go to the ER for a bad ear infection. When we got home and I gave him his pills I realized he was missing one of his medications. Apparently they were out of the medication and didn’t even bother to tell us. It could have been really bad if it had happened to be one of his pain medications.
The LVN that administered my vaccine was very friendly but the check in process is the most inefficient and unhelpful system ever. They helped 8 patients who checked in and arrived after me before seeing me and had me waiting 40 minutes after my initial appointment. At this point your little kiosk is futile and you should just operate it manually.
One Star for the one reason that CVS has been advertising Curbside Pickup service, but in reality it is just ordering online, going in store and picking up your order. There is no proper curbside pickup board where you can park your car and the CVS folks can deliver your order. Pick up was a breeze, but why advertise it as curbside pickup?
Worst CVS ever! Picked up my prescription today and had issues with my insurance. Turned out their system had my last name wrong and an outdated address. The person behind the counter didn't even bother try fixing the information. 5 people in the back just stocking prescriptions. I went home and immediately switched to home delivery.
Jesus, how are the pharmacist and pharmacy manager still working here? They have the worst reviews in all of San Diego, a place where it’s normal for pharmacist to yell at patients (all female btw) shout out to pharmacist rose who starts yelling at me only because I was trying to explain the problem/situation (nicely of course).
This is a very busy 24 hour CVS/pharmacy. Their line is pretty long and it can get held up if just one customer/patient has a problem with their prescription. I went right after work around 6pm, and it was very crowded. The store looks very old, but it has the standard stuff you'd want in a drug store.
We walk in at CVS for a special Teddy Bears Valentines Gifts. Our cashier help us is Emily. She is amazing. This scented chocolate teddy bears are perfect gifts. She give us the best costumer service ever. She rock's. I will love to give her 100000 points. I recommend this CVS. She is a life saver.
Sandra have been helped me a few times whenever I came into cvs. She is very friendly and patient. She also thinks outside of the box with her quick thinking. She solved problems pretty quickly. I am impressed. Please give her a raise in pay and/or promotion to management. She has the potential.
The pharmacists are fine. The helpers or nurses have no clue what the heck they are doing. Everytime I'm in here to pick up meds for my uncle, they always have me waiting a prolong period of time, specially when my uncle made sure his doctors called in ahead of time. This is so very frustrating.
this is a tough one. there is usually a line, however they are much better at getting prescriptions filled than walgreens, who ALWAYS blame it on the insurance. weird that cvs can get the same rx filled that walgreens cannot. if you dont want to wait in line -- go super late.
The pharmacist is definitely a rude bxxch ! My prescription out of stock and I just call to confirm when will be available but She was yelled me and very impatient.if you wants to answer questions from your patient then why you became a pharmacist. No servers at all.
Great service and well stocked. As it's one of the few 24hr pharmacy (like the convenience) they are normally really busy. Suggest that you set up the "text me when my prescription is ready" So you don't have to wait a while in the store for them to fill it.
This pharmacy has the worst quality of employees I have ever seen!!! I called to get a flu shot before driving here and was told they take walk-ins. I get there and was treated like garbage, called a liar and was told I'd have to wait an
I got my vaccine done and the Healthcare Professional doing the shot was extremely well mannered! He not only used appropriate tools to help confort me but his skill was precise!!! It didnt hurt and It was quick!! Thank you!!!
Minuteclinic doctor hid behind his closed door for the last 30 minutes of the day to avoid seeing anyone before the cutoff. This is after I had called the pharmacy to confirm someone would still be there. Good stuff.
Understaffed with long lines at the pharmacy during peak times. Never answer the phone, the phone just keeps ringing constantly. Badly managed CVS location.. don’t come here for anything!
Miss FIRYAL ~ KoOl name right?!.. is a great human to interact with. Always helpful with a positive energy to assist at the pharmacy. Thank you FIRYAL for bringing your light. <3
Do not try to call. Every time i have tried i'm on hold for minimum of 11 minutes. Then, occasionally, someone will come on line only to ask you to wait some more (4-5 min.)
I have had great service here. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Sometimes the lines are long when picking up prescriptions, but overall happy with the service!
My best friend and I got our flu shots here. Raymond helped us with the paperwork and was so courteous! Lauren gave us our shots. She was quick and did a great job :)
Waiting lines are just unbelievably long and super slow. They hardly pickup phone calls and wait times are as high as 45 minutes just to pickup pain medication.
Says 24/7 on the website. I went at 230AM and 530AM on Sunday and closed both times. Please update hours to reflect reality so people don't waste their time
The people here handle themselves very well regardless of the high volume and the terrible attitude from some customers. Thank you for all you do.
THE WORST CVS PHARM EVER. They are rude and take FOREVER and they don’t listen and they are always understaffed and a mess. Avoid at all costs.
CVS pharmacy asked me to call regarding one of my prescriptions. I called twice and waited 25 minutes each time and no one picked up the phone.
It's a pretty good pharmacy and a decent place to buy holiday stuff sometimes. Its also a bit crowded at times. Overall no bad experiences.
It make 2 hours to have your medecine ready. And sometimes they ask you to come the day after....crazy!!!! Not professional at all.
I'm forced to use CVS because my company has CVS as the preferred prescription provider. would not be my first or second choices.
Literally the worst pharmacy I’ve ever been to. Always a line, it’s slow and they often don’t get it right the first time around
The pharmacy is so insufficient, served one customer every 10 mins which is insanely slow. They are extremely understaffed.
The cashier Ifelia was absolutely wonderful. She went out of her way to explain the winter points. Plus she was very sweet.
Rude Pharmacist and Nasty tech gave WRONG medication!! Jason is Rude and NO EXPERIENCE to shot anything to anyone! STOP it!
The pharmacy that worked over night is so rude and I am going to put a complaint in and I give this place zero stars.
Service is horrible I called and was on hold forever now I think I made a mistake switching to CVS “ Regrettable”
Would not honor deal on websites MAIN PAGE! Other Mira Mesa CVS was happy to help. Poor customer service.
Very disappointing CVS branch. Common cough syrup, cough drops is always out of stock. Staff is so slow.
I came here at 4am to buy over the counter medication. They were closed. This place is not open 24/7.
Don't have common medications and spent over 20 minutes on hold to speak with someone in the pharmacy
Took an hour to get medication after another cvs ran out of stock Wait 30 minutes for the pharmacist
Was quoted 45 min, after an hour I was told hopefully 15-20 more. Just for pharmacy verification.
Pharmacists do only half of their job properly. You may have to go back to get the rest done.
I only attempt to go to this pharmacy when I am in a good mood, with a lot of patience.
Thank you to manager Jeanne (sorry if i spelled your name wrong) for helping me today!
I have never been treated so poorly before. Stay away from this location if possible.
Don't fill your prescription here! They never have it ready and they take forever!!!!
The Front Desk is Fine. The Pharmacist is extremely rude and yells at customers. :(
Google says that this is open 24 hours. This store is definitely not open 24 hours.
They are not open 24 hours. They open at 5 am in the morning. Waited till 5 am.
CVS Mira Mesa is my go-to place! Absolutely love this location thank you!
Worst CVS ever! No one is helpful. What a waste of time with this place.
Best CVS in the area. It is 24 hours and usually well stocked.
Wait times were almost double quoted. Almost 1.5h for a fill.
I had a great experience here with my purchase. Thank you.
Had me on hold for 20 mins before I gave up and hung up
It says online that this cvs is open 24*7 but I is not.
They are not 24 hrs I came at 2am and it was closed
No longer 24 hours. Close between 22:30 and 7:00
Sandra gives sweet service. Always top notch.
They are not 24 hours, don't be fooled
Cheap and best place for shopping.
Not open 24 hours
