"We met with a different doctor this visit and he was amazing! Kind, explained things well and slowly, answered my dad's questions in spanish, the entire staff we interacted with was very friendly and kind and really seemed to care thank you so much! That's exactly the type of people we need around when our pets are sick and we are scared/nervous, my doggy had fleas and was starting to have allergic reactions to the bites, she's much better now with the medicine the dr gave her"
So I waited to write a review for several days simply because I was mad. I had brought my dog in some years ago and saw Dr. Baum. My dog had had a stroke and he was amazing with him. It was pretty late, he answered all my questions, and even had me send video of my dog daily and responded asap. Fast forward 4 years...my dog is now 17 and has congestive heart failure and a thyroid issue. He hasnt been doing well and I want ed to see if I could get some relief for his coughing and wheezing...and also talk about end of life care. I now live on Catalina Island, so this is not a close or easy trip for me to make over. I called and waited on hold for about 35 mins and chatted with a very lovely lady on the phone who shared with me about her pet's end of life. She told me I could do a walk-in the next day and she knew I was coming from the island. I get there and I wait...and wait ...and wait. More than 4 hours before I am seen. They tell me there is an emergency with another pet and only one doctor. So I am cool with it. At this point, I have already missed the time frame to catch my ticketed boat home. Finally I see some doctor. Dont know his name since he didnt bother to tell me. Blonde guy with an accent. He saids, "You have been waiting since 10? Why did you just drop the dog?" I explain I am there for pain/coughing relief and I live on the island. He checked his teeth, tells me they look horrible and need to be cleaned. They were just cleaned by my vet in Mexico 4 months before. Tells me he is most likely throwing up due to a 'bad taste in his mouth from his teeth". Dog's teeth are fine. Listens to his heart. Tells me he has a murmur. Tells me the dog is fat. My dog has water gain from congestive heart failure and has gained more than 3 pounds in a short amount of time. Waves me files at me which has only the info from his stroke and asks why he hasnt been getting care. I again explain, the dog sees my vet on the island, or my vet in Mexico, and I wanted to see Dr. Baum due to the level I care I received from him in the past. Asks if my dog has had a Xray or his heart or an EKG...I say no, then he belittles his vet on the island for not doing this tests. My dog has literally every single symptom of late congestive heart failure, is showing signs of pain, wheezing/coughing and unable to catch his breathe. He is 17. I am not asking this guy to save my dog's life. I am asking for relief of pain and symptoms to make my dog more comfortable before he dies. He tells me to go wait (some more) for an estimate. I wait another hour or so, then ask the staff for my bill as I have to go or I will not be able to get home at all. I had to book a helicopter back as I had missed the last ferry home. I could have made an appointment for another day. They told me walk in would be fine. They sent me a estimate for more than $1300 for a slew of testing for my already diagnosed dog. Dr. D-Bag was unpleasant, rude and dismissive. Staff was overwhelmed and unable to function in any kind of organized way. Dog got 0 treatment, 0 help, I paid $85 for ferry tickets, $120 for Ubers, and $159 to helicopter home plus of course the office visit cost so I could sit for almost 6 hours and see a vet for less than 10 mins. Estimate included things like nail trimming, anal gland cleaning (at $300), pain meds (which he didnt get). I understand things like bloodwork so he can be properly medicated, but the rest was a joke. Very bummed to see this is the level of care now offered, especially after having such an amazing experience with Dr. Baum.
I am so happy I found center Sinai animal hospital! I have a 5 month old ragdoll kitten I needed to find a reliable vet for. First of all, their hours are amazing. Also- don’t be discouraged if you’re on hold for a while to get ahold of someone via phone, especially during their busy times. Once you go into the pet hospital you’ll see why- their staff give the guests their undivided attention, which is amazing! Whenever I’m in the office I am given the best service and all my questions are answered and I’m not rushed. I had previously taken my ragdoll kitten to a different pet hospital and their prices were astronomical and the service did not match the price. When I needed to get my kitten spayed, I found center Sinai and they even have a discounted spay and neuter day on Wednesdays. I got my kittens vaccines, microchip, and her spayed for a 1/4 of the price I would’ve payed elsewhere. I’ve met with Dr. Williams and she is amazing and thorough and kind to my Mila. The staff is amazing and always treats my pet with love and care. They truly treat your pets like they’re their own. I’m so grateful for Center Sinai!!
I came in with a dying pet. walked up to the counter and staff saw me holding my pet and crying softly… no one greeted me. No one responded to my presence. No one cares enough to even look up and make eye contact and smile. I waited 8 minutes at the counter. I finally said “hello” to the lady sitting there the whole time since she wasn’t talking to me. And then she told me to wait. I just left in tears and decided to go somewhere where I know they at least care about my pet Access Specialty Hospital. I’ll never go back to this creepy cold place.
Update to my original review. June 24. 2022 I came to bid farewell to my beloved boy. The staff was every compassionate to me and my big boy. It’s been 12 years of coming here for my boy and I. Their prices are not inflated like some of these other vet’s for the same type of service. You can make an appointment and they do welcome walk in. I have been coming here for 10 years. The Dr's here saved my dogs life from parvo. The staff is really nice and they remember your pet by name.

Dr Baum, all of the vets and staff are over the top fantastic!! Living professionals that treat all of our pets like their own…. Highly recommend Center Sinai as your go to for veterinary services- grooming, teeth, wellness and emergency care- The BEST!!! Additionally - Center Sinai does an excellent teeth cleaning - my Frenchie gets the non anesthesia cleaning every six months …they provide great service and documentation of progress in keeping healthy
I have taken my pets to Cedar Sinai Animal Hospital since 2015. Across the board all the vets have been professional, competent, concerned and incredibly reasonable under their wellness plan. The staff are helpful and courteous. It is best to call for an appointment since it is a very popular service and walk ins may have a lengthy wait. If you are a regular patient, they work emergencies in quickly. I cannot recommend them more highly.
My pets and I have been coming to Center Sinai Animal Hospital for 13 years. The the front staff has always been very friendly and they always seem to recognize me. All the doctors I have seen are very caring & loving with my pets and have always shown exceptional professionalism & are very good at listening to my concerns when it comes to my pets.
I loved this animal hospital. Dr. Matthews took really good care of my cat Kira. Who I had just found after being lost for two months. She was treated for fleas, a cold, and malnutrition. This hospital was able to offer quality & affordable care. Kira is recovering quickly, thanks to Dr. Matthews and the amazing staff at Center Sinai.
The staff are kind and responsive. It's easy enough to get an appointment within a day or two, which can't be said for other locations. I feel like our pets are well taken care of. The front office can get a little chaotic with pets and noise and whatnot, so be prepared - but I guess that's just #vetlife. Keep up the good work!
This hospital, and it's devoted team, have always taken excellent care of my kitties. When my sweet Shadow passed, they went above and beyond. As my sweet Clover continues to age, they have taken incredible care of her, and we trust the entire staff so much to always have our baby's best interests at heart.
Dr Matthews is an excellent doctor. She is a very nice and knowledgeable doctor. She explains and answers all your questions. Doesn't rush you during the visit. You can tell she loves animals. She is caring and gentle with pets. I highly recomend her. Thank you for everything Dr Matthews.
I left VCA ( after years of being a client its become a to corporate) and discovered Center Sinai Animal Hospital because I rescued a dog from Perfect Pet Rescue next door. The personal care of everyone there and the wonderfuldr. Baum made me switch all 3 dogs to go there from now on
Dr. Mallory Mathews at Center Sanai Animal Hospital was an incredible help for my newly adopted seven month old kitty Remy who was having emergency issues. Dr. Matthews expertise, professionalism, empathy and follow up are outstanding. My sweet Remy is now on the road to recovery.
Great place to be at, if you want love for your pet! It might get busy but the love your family member gets is amazing! It is my first rescue, first puppy and fist visit at a vet’s office. They made it so easy. Couldn’t ask for anything less! Thanks guys!
Just so grateful for Dr Gamez and team who took care of us and Prince our cat with so much patients and friendly service. It made it easy to leave him in their hands and we are now in recovery. Thank you so much Team Center Sinai Animal Hospital.
Amazing, we had no appointment, my cat was non stop throwing up, they took me instantly. They are very cost effective compared to the emergency vet clinic. Will 100% take my pet back there again. Saved me so much money. Salem says thank you.
The phone service here is horrible. I literally have to wait a long time on the phone and I end up being told different things each time I call. I try being patient and called different times and to different representatives but I feel I
Dr Baum is the best for anyone with a snub nosed dog of any breed he just knows the protocol that is so important when dealing with this type of breed. I would not go to anyone else. It is quite a treck for us as we live downtown Los
My dog had a great experience being boarded at Center Sinai. He has been a patient here since 2011 and they have kept him healthy. He still acts like a 2 year old puppy. I wouldn’t take him anywhere else. Love the doctors and staff.
Dr Christina Quel was brilliant.. my dog hates being in any building and it was a struggle getting him in there. Once in there the staff were brilliant in helping calm him down. Once he realised he was among friends he allowed the
My PomChi has been going to Center Sinai for over 10 years. The service there was fantastic. The team really love and are devoted to animals. They get very overwhelmed w clients so try to be patient when you call or show up to an
My regular vet wasn't available on this day before Thanksgiving. Our little angel BUTTERCUP was not feeling well . She vomitted and hid in the closet for a day and a half. Something HAD to be done. I went on Google and found
It’s clear all the vets and tech staff love and care for everyone’s the furry ones. They are very good at explaining diagnoses and follow up care. I’ve been taking my babies there for 25+ years and will continue to do so!
Hello, it’s 2 days after surgery and she’s doing good. Jazmine is in her purple surgical suit and is relaxing and enjoy being pampered. Thanks Cedar Sinai Animal Hospital for taking care of my puppy …
I got a free wellness check coupon when I adopted Buddy from the San Pedro animal shelter in 2016. We've been coming here ever since. The entire staff is friendly and professional. Highly recommended.
Loved my experience here! They took me as a walk-in very quickly. The vet sat on the floor with my anxious dog to perform her exam. I was so touched! It was super clear she really cared about her.
Very good services , bilingual , nice people and animal lovers . I got my appoinment for next day after I scheduled through website. Prices are affordable Thank you !
We have been taking our two cats to Center Sinai for over 10 years for all their needs. Best service. Our cats are never stressed and get the best care
I have been taking me pups here for 12 years. Though sometimes wait times are long for walk-ins, the staff is always friends and service is great.
