I had high hopes for this office because I was recommended by a close friend. She told me Dr. Ramirez was the most trustworthy Vet she’s ever met. Unfortunately from the start, it started out rocky. I was on hold for 25 mins to make my first appointment. Day of appointment, I was running about 5 mins behind and as a courtesy, I wanted to call to let them know — another 15 mins hold. I arrive and it’s chaos in the very small office. I understand why there’s seating outside, because the inside waiting area is just too small to fit owners and their animals. I was helped fairly quickly, but the front desk staff seemed unorganized and miserable like they didn’t want to be there. I could hear one of them joking about how they couldn’t wait to go home. I’m pretty sure she hung up on a client that was on the speaker phone. She joked and said “no one’s home” and laughed and the person hung up. I’ve worked in an office setting and my first impression was that they didn’t care if they acted unprofessionally in front of clients. Next, a room wasn’t available but they opted to take my dog in the back where he would be evaluated. That was unsettling for a few reasons —as a first time client, I was hoping to meet one of the doctors to get a feel for them and build that initial trust. My dog is extremely scared of new settings and it would have been easier for him if I could be with him. Lastly, if rooms were unavailable that translates to being overbooked and to me, that felt extremely unorganized. The last thing to make me decide this office wasn’t for me was a woman came in with her two dogs and one pooped by the front of the door. I told the woman it was her dog and she didn’t care to pick it up. She actually played it off like it wasn’t her dog. Another client then pointed it out to staff and for the remaining 15 mins I was there, no one came out to clean it. This is one of those situations where I’m sure the doctors are great, but the staff is completely lagging and unfortunately both go hand and hand. If the staff isn’t up to par with my experience, doesn’t matter how great the doctor is — it wouldn’t matter.

We were referred to LAVC by a good friend and we are very happy with the services provided from the front all the way to the back. The work culture there seems healthy and they work well collectively as a team. We brought our cat, Oatmeal, in for a second opinion due to his congestive heart failure and complications. LAVC gets very busy and upon entering, there were about 8+ people and their pets in the waiting room. With such a pressured and chaotic setting, they are great with time management and meeting the needs of their patients with a good flow. (** Note that parking can be a little tricky as their small lot is usually full, though neighborhood parking is your best bet which can be a bit tough as well) The ladies in the front were both very kind and respectful upon checking-in. Both Miguel and Dr. Robbins were both very pleasant to work with through and through. Miguel is patient, so kind and very responsible when it comes to excellent customer service in animal patient care. Dr. Robbins was very thorough with Oatmeal's treatment plan + results. A combination of honesty, diligence and compassion are genuine qualities they do not fall short of. We highly recommend this gem of a spot. Thank you LAVC for your collective efforts in treating and caring for Oatmeal. We will see you again soon. (Thank you to Ingrid+Jocelyn for your help as well!) Oatmeal and I are very grateful!

I called to see how much it costs for consultation, and the guy gave me the prices and availability, I said I'll call him back to confirm (I didnt get his name but he sounded nice and very professional). I called back 1 hr late, and some girl answered, she sounded so miserable answering. I tried scheduling what the guy had offered me earlier, but all of a sudden, an hr later, you're fully booked till mid-June. JESICA, it doesn't hurt to be polite and have manners. Let people finish their sentence before cutting them off with a "no." There's no way you could've been booked so quickly. It really sounded like you were annoyed and lazy in a rush to hang up. Work on yourself, sweetie. To the owner, if there's no income coming in your office now you know why. Your own employee is bringing you down. It doesn't look great if this girl is representing you. I always said that your receptionist and/or anyone answering calls represents the place. They are the first we interact with. I see that I'm not the only one with this issue.

Really friendly staff. Make sure you have an appointment to be sure you can have your beast looked at by a really nice Vet. The young lady in the front tried to get my beast checked out without an appointment but it was pretty late in the day. They did get me an appointment early the next morning! Overall it was a great experience for my beast and they took really great care of him. Also no bull$h!t extra charges/unnecessary treatment were trying to be added to the bill. They only did what he needed and they give estimates for procedures/surgeries. Great prices! Oh yeah and they have a bunch of hilarious dog paintings all over the walls and in the exam rooms. Did i mention the place is really clean! Only thing is the parking sucks but i didn't have any problem finding street parking. It's also right next to Mariachi Plaza!

I would give this place 10 stars if I could. Dr Ramirez, dr Cynthia have seen my animals and I can not thank them enough, especially Dr Ramirez. He is a gem. Not only that he is skilled, professional, knowledgeable, a great listener, he is honest. He has saved my cats from dying. And he also has saved my wallet from draining elsewhere. I found this vet in 2016 and I will continue to go to them for as long as I can travel to them. The nurses and the receptionists are kind, friendly, and amazing. Their pricing is fair and affordable. The parking situation could be tricky, but at least it’s free parking if you get there early before your appointment.

The only problem is trying to make your first appointment. You have to be the first caller at 8:30am to get a same day appointment. I think they only have one available each day. 1st visit is $40 and after that it goes up to $60. They accept Sunbit, which is super easy financing to qualify for. So it was worth it. I asked to see the procedure and they said yes I could but they took my dog and never called us to come view the procedure. But Dr. Vasquez was awesome! I highly recommend this place. Located in East Los Angeles right off the 10fwy.

Great vet!! I have taken my dog here since he was a puppy and have always been treated very well. My dog (Rottweiler) sometimes gets very nervous and likes to bark a lot at people and dogs. When it came time to go into the appointment the lobby was cleared for him to calmly pass through and we were allowed to wait in one of the rooms until he was taken back to get his procedures done. They have great prices and the actual doctors are very kind and seem to love the animals and their work. Would definitely recommend!!!

Most unhelpful place ever. The receptionist is a young woman with red hair and doing her best to be as unhelpful as possible. Cold, rude, unwilling to even try to provide service or info. The other woman who seemed to be her manager, overheard our conversation and stepped in and gave me several referrals and the phone number for an organization that could help me. But the younger one genuinely should not even be in there if she doesn’t wanna help people and animals.

Highly, highly, highly recommend this vet office. I came here based on the reviews after a night of staying up with my dog who had foxtails in her nose. I arrived about 30 min before they opened, and there were people in line. I recommend 40-45 min early for those without appointments. The staff was super nice, the vet was quick and did an AMAZING job. She was able to get all the foxtails out, and the price was reasonable. Competent, nice, and did a great job. A+++

  • Brenda Davis

I love this clinic. The veterinarian who examined my cat explained things about my cat that another vet at a different clinic didn't know. The staff are all very kind, patient, helpful, etc etc etc. The process are definitely reasonable. They answer all of your questions and concerns. They tolerate me quite well and that's saying a lot. I highly recommend them.

Excellent service, trust worthy providers, helpful staff. Very responsive via email. Sometimes longer than expected wait times but everyone there really cares and it shows. Parking can be a little bit of a challenge (only small amount of spots) but there is additional paid parking across the street. Overall, very happy to bring my cat here for all of her needs.

  • Scott Kepford

Always overcrowded and very disorganized, but decent care at an okay price. They’re so busy they don’t care about wasting their clients time - they’ll call you to tell you to come pick up your pet as if you’re really inconveniencing them, but then make you wait 40 mins just to bring them out. Don’t even bother trying to park in the lot unless it’s empty.

I went there with my friend to help her with her pets. Dr. Robbins amazed me with how loving, caring and thorough she was in her exam of my friend's pets. This prompted me to ask her if i could bring my dog in for an exam and flea treatment. One great feature regarding the location, the "E" line is steps away. Very busy clinic however worth the time. I came here for the first time today. I was so impressed! The ladies at the front counter were on top of it and super friendly. The Dr. was amazing! The technicians were also amazing and took such good care of my Meelo. The prices are good and they are on top of it. I will definitely start coming here for now on. Thank you guys so much LAVC!

  • Isidoro Barranco

This is by far the best veterinarian. I made an appointment which is a plus due to my schedule. Friendly staff which is a huge plus. The staff was also very caring and understanding in my time of grief. The office very clean and well maintained. Parking is limited but worth the trouble. I highly recommend it to friends and family members.

  • Caramel Kitty

They are very helpful and very transparent about treatments. Always kind and efficient and my dog is always safe and sound. I love this vet and will refer others. Also more affordable than many of the surrounding vets and always approve over the phone or emailed invoices for insurance quickly! They are great I’m glad I found them

  • MERCEDES JUVETTE Crawford

Make an appointment before arriving its usually very busy. Pet owners wait outside (under covered seating area) as vet technicians take your pet inside for their exam. The veterinarian will call you to go over exam findings. The parking lot is on the small side so you will have to find parking in the surrounding neighborhood.

  • Marlon Mora

They treat you and your pet with care , patience , they answer all your questions and they know you are concerned for the well being of your loved one. Very professional in the treatment and the handling of your pet. From the minutes you walk in the door until you leave. I definitely recommend this veterinarian.

  • Alexandra Walker

Have only had good experiences here! Both doctors we’ve seen have been super friendly and helpful. They never try to push anything and really take the time. Haven’t had trouble getting appointments and our dog Bodhi doesn’t dislike our time their either!

Nothing but good things to say about LAVC. Having moved to LA for work, finding a vet was one of those things that I assumed would be a touch and go process for a while. Thankfully, it worked out great on the first try. Dr. Robbins has been

Dr. Ramirez is great! He diagnosed my cat when he had a tumor and was very consoling when he told us Monkney wouldn't make it. Then a few years later our other cat TomTom got sick and Dr Ramirez wasn't available so we took him to the vet in
