I work for a large healthcare company, and most of my family are (human) physicians and nurses. As a result, I hold healthcare providers in general to a very high standard, and have often been disappointed by veterinary practices. I honestly cannot say enough kind words about City Pets. Due to Covid shutdowns and personal relocation, it had been a couple of years since my cat, Sebastian, had been to a vet. He needed to be brought up to date on shots, as well as have a general checkup. He isn't an aggressive cat, but when he's stressed, he tends to have "accidents". Particularly of the "#2 variety". This happened twice at our first visit to City Pets, with the first being while I was holding him and claiming my shirt as a casualty. Sebastian also doesn't like having his blood drawn, and does become a bit aggressive when being poked with needles. But the administrative and clinical staff could not have been more kind and professional about it. Everyone at City Pets has a level of professionalism which I'm not used to seeing at a veterinary practice. The vet I previously visited would sedate Sebastian at every visit. They would also take him into a back room for any and all procedures, which made no sense to me; I would be sitting in an exam room with my cat, yet they didn't examine him in the "exam room". They'd take him into a back room, and of course he'd become stressed when he lost sight of me, and they'd decide he must be sedated. Sedation of a cat for routine things is something I try to avoid these days, as last year, my mother's beloved cat died while coming out of sedation for a regular checkup. Even though Sebastian was a handful, the nurses and doctors at City Pets never suggested that he be sedated. They handled him with the utmost level of kindness and understanding, and it was plainly obvious how much genuine passion everyone at this veterinary hospital has for taking care of animals. If you live in Nashville and are in need of a vet, I would say that taking your pet to City Pets is a no-brainer; there should be no question in the matter. Their service and "bedside manner" is second to none, and their pricing isn't at all unreasonable, despite what a few negative reviews might state.
My cat and I arrived for our first appointment at City Pets and were met with chaos. Apparently an emergency had happened. We were asked to wait for a room which we did. To their credit, everyone we interacted with was very nice, as they ran around like chickens with their heads cut off. They may have been short staffed as there was no one at the front desk. My cat and I sat on the one piece of furniture, a couch that reeks like dog, for 30 minutes. I sat and wondered how they were able to sanitize the type of fabric I was sitting on and thought that if I owned a vet clinic, I would be sure to get medical grade furniture that can be wiped down. After waiting 30 minutes, I was told a room was about to be available, and it was the room next to where we sat, which reeked of diahhrea (the afore-mentioned emergency, I was told). Someone mopped the floor and put a candle in there, but it was still pretty gross, and I decided I just wasn't going to put my already-stressed-out cat in that room. I finally left. When I asked Dr. Evans if there would at least be a partial refund for the $60 appointment, she refused, citing their 24-hour cancellation policy. It takes imagination to see how a cancellation policy applies to this situation, and I told Dr. E it was very unfortunate that she wasn't willing to provide at least a partial refund for the appointment that never happened. While I'm confident this 2-star rating will incite a long and excuse-laden response, which may contain semi-personal information such as my pet's name and condition, I stand by my opinion that I personally feel more comfortable bringing my pet elsewhere, and that I would not recommend this particular location to other pet owners. I realize this location is most likely not chaotic and unorganized every day, however mathematics dictates that the probability I walked in on the ONLY day the clinic was in an uproar is pretty low. It's just not a place I would want my kitty under anesthesia based on what I saw.
I think this place is most definitely a great option for those high end clients. We did not know that when we found this place and thus overall had a not so great experience. I didn't want to write a bad review for them as they are a local small business, just getting started, but it is my belief that it is the combination of both good and bad reviews that truth is revealed and also, this is how we learn and grow. The main reason why we ended up switching vets is because we always felt pressured into buying additional, very costly things for our puppy. When we didn't feel like those things were what our dog needed or asked for additional time to consider it, we were made to feel like bad dog parents. We always left the place feeling like we were patronized and feeling ashamed for not getting the additional treatments. So much so that my husband stopped coming with me to the vet. In addition, the care that we got here was drastically costlier compared to other places. The new vet that we found ended up charging us $25 for what Dr. Evans quote us: $140 for a shot. Dr. Evans later explained over the phone that it was different medication. But if the effects of the medication are the same, or similar, than I would have appreciated a conversation disclosing all the necessary information for us to then make an informed decision based on what our dog needed but also what was financially affordable for us. All in all, the place is extremely clean, and definitely top notch. They have little treats everywhere and the animals get a treat every time they get a shot. I never had to wait and was always welcomed into a private, well decorated and clean room when we met with the doctor. It was just not a good fit for us.
THERE IS NO PUPPY PLAN. DO NOT GO HERE. We originally came here for our new Great Dane puppy because they falsely advertised an awesome "puppy plan" online that would make things (like all the vaccines and visits) easier and cheaper. I'm sure that's why there's always puppies there. When we got there they told us it only applies if you've been there for a year (oh, so once the puppy isn't a puppy anymore? Convenient). We overlooked it and continued to bring both of our dogs there. Everything was going fine until one of our dogs ACTUALLY needed help. I called and said her anal gland looks infected and inflamed. They decided to schedule me a "tech" appointment instead of an actual "vet" appointment. The tech expressed her anal glands and then sent us off. We got a call later that day it was an abscess and the vet needs to see her to prescribe her antibiotics. Hm, I guess it's too hard to tell us that while we're still actually there? They say they can't prescribe anything without seeing her AGAIN (the second time that morning) so we miss appointments and leave work to take her back. They make us wait for 45 minutes just to have the vet look at her for 2 seconds and say, yeah, just what I thought... she needs antibiotics (wow really?). I wasn't planning on reviewing this until we went to check out and they decided to charge us for, not only the medication, but a full "veterinary exam," which came out to $80. I'm a doctoral student; this isn't pocket change. Moral of the story is that they falsely advertise (and the puppy plan doesn't exist) and hire incompetent vet techs who make daily mistakes that can waste your time and money. If you still go there after reading this, then good luck to you.
My wife and I have been bringing our pets here since the practice opened. Dr. Evans has always taken great care with our fur family. We have visited for routine things and for emergencies, and the practice has always been accommodating. Routine visits are well explained - they talk through their recommendations and give you a cost estimate before proceeding with any treatments, shots, etc. They do not try to have you do unnecessary things and are always willing to talk through their recommendations so that you understand the pros/cons and can make an informed decision. Emergency/sick pet calls are always met with compassion and the staff does everything they can to accommodate these visits. We most recently called to get an appointment for our sick pet on a day that was completely booked - but we were offered the opportunity to bring our pet and leave her for a few hours so that she could be seen between scheduled visits. We happily did this and received excellent communication throughout even though we were not there in person - including an assessment, suggested course of action, and cost estimate prior to treatment. After picking up our girl later that afternoon, we then received a follow up call to check on our our pet’s recovery, and a follow up call and email about a day later with lab results and the assessment of those results. Staff is always lovely; Dr. Evans is compassionate and very thorough - she gives you facts, options, and allows you to make the choices that are best for you and your pet. We are very happy to have this practice providing care for our pets.
I was introduced to City Pets by a rescue group that I foster with. One of my foster puppies last year was diagnosed by another vet with a fatal issue and recommended she be put down. We got into City Pets almost immediately for a second opinion and they reassured that there was a heart problem- but it wasn't fatal and referred us to Blue Pearl, where she got the diagnostics and treatment needed. My parents ended up adopting that puppy and her sister and they are doing amazing! I switched myself to City Pets a few months ago with my 11 year old small dog and my 1 year old medium dog. Their exam rooms are set up like a comfy living room, instead of a sterile exam room and my 11 year old dog didn't experience his usual vet anxiety at all. Dr. Evans identified a potential issue with my dog's liver, and then diagnosed a gall bladder problem that my previous vet had not caught for the previous two years- even though he had elevated liver enzymes - they had been disregarded. They have done an amazing job helping me navigate the concerns that start with a senior dog, as well as working to connect me with a behaviorist at UT to work on the alpha dog issues with my senior and my puppy. They are quick to respond to emails and calls, and have more than once been able to get me in the same day. I see reviews that mention the high cost, but vets in general in the Nashville area have similar costs. Their attention to detail and thoroughness is very appreciated.
Pricier than our normal vet, but they're just down the street. However, we won't be back. Took our cat in Tuesday because he was constantly straining to pee (and I mean constantly), crying, clearly uncomfortable. "Maybe he's just stressed." Yeah, no. They then took a urine sample for a urinalysis and cultures. It's Friday and we've heard nothing. Urinalysis should be one day, as should putting some urine on a slide and checking for bacteria with a microscope. Only the cultures should take this long. Meanwhile our cat is clearly suffering, possibly has a worsening infection, and was been given no take home antibiotics. They're closed until Monday. UPDATE: Emailed and told the results were ready but weren't showing in their system due to a computer glitch. I also noticed on the bill that there were extra tests that were not discussed and approved (parasites, FeLV, FIV). He also got a vaccine that was not discussed and approved (FeLV). We were told his blood and urine would be tested, and he is an indoor cat so we would have no reason to do the FIV/FeLV work. TBD if they will make this right - I'll update if so. First and last time coming here. UPDATE 2: Their diagnosis was also incorrect. Diagnosed as feline idiopathic cystitis when it was actually a UTI. UPDATE 3: It's also potentially illegal for them to release your pet's medical info without your consent in Tennessee, but at the least it's shady
Our older chihuahua Balla has been going to City Pets for several years. Her health was great until 2020 when diagnosed with stage 3 Kidney disease and high blood pressure. Dr Anderson went above and beyond explaining all this to us and answering a multitude of questions and what ifs. Dr Anderson also showed us how to administer subcutaneous fluids to our girl and never made us feel silly when we had so many questions. A few weeks ago Balla was very sick and diagnosed with pancreatitis. We had no idea what this was before. Both Dr. Evans and Dr Anderson, as well as another Dr who I unfortunately forgot her name but started with an M, were absolutely wonderful at explaining everything to us and our options. Balla ended up getting pancreatitis a second time not long after and all these doctors and staff have always been professional and compassionate. Everytime we take Balla in or need a refill of her medications everyone here is the best. Today it was pouring down rain and the sweetest staff member came out in the pouring rain to deliver Ballas meds with a smile and a happy face on her medication bag. We love City Pets!
WoW! This place is great! My little buddy had developed a cough since I moved down here and I tried to get him in to several vet offices within a week and I was able to get him in the next morning here (might have been luck, but wait, there's more). He "saw" Dr. Anderson on Friday morning and I was so worried, they took x-rays [didn't have to sedate him 'cause he's a good boy :)] Before I agreed to any tests/procedures, they ran the prices by me and why they recommended it. They've followed up with me in a very quick manner- both Dr. Anderson and Dr. Evans since Dr. Anderson was out of the office. I truly can't believe how responsive they all are! I received my radiology report on Tuesday- only a couple days after the scan which helped put my ver y anxious mind at ease. As a team, they've answered all my questions, they are all so patient, pleasant to talk to, and helpful! I'm not sure how the pricing is compared to other vets around the area, but if it is a bit more I think it is totally worth it!! HIGHLY recommend.
My very first time bringing my pet to City Pets was for a surgical consult. The staff immediately made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. They greeted me and my dog but they went above and beyond to make sure we were both comfortable. They sat in the floor and played with him and everyone loved on him and even gave him treats. He loved the entire staff. The vet was an amazing physician! I would recommend Dr. Jessica Anderson to anyone for their pet needs. She is highly knowledgeable in her field. She has a great bedside manner for her fur patients and made me feel confident and comfortable with the procedure. The day after the procedure the staff does a great job of following up to make sure that we were not having any issues or questions that needed to be answered. I loved my experience with City Pets Animal Care! I really can’t express how thankful I am they took such wonderful care of my senior dog.
Dr. Evans, Dr. Anderson and their team are incredible. We love our 3 dogs beyond words and we trust the team at City Pets implicitly. Dr. Evans and Dr. Anderson are so patient, provide fantastic care and are wicked smart. Their team to include Savannah, Cameron, Bridget, Charolette, Audrey and Maggie have always demonstrated such positivity and professionalism. Everything for the way they answer questions over the phone, to how they handle our pups during an office visit is above and beyond. That is not the experience we have had everywhere. We have been to several vet clinics in the Nashville area, but this is by far the best in every aspect. We took on a precious stray pup recently and the team here is the reason she has been able to succeed. Do your furry babies a favor and make an appointment at City Pets Animal Care. It was the best decision we made for the ours.
My girlfriend Clara and I have been bringing both of our dogs here, and I have been present for every appointment. Do not listen to the lies in their response to bad reviews. At no point we were offered an option to wait 15 mins for the doctor, when our dog needed help. This is a bold face lie. It is disgraceful that they are willing to lie on a public forum in order to try and save their failing business. It is well known around the area that taking your dog to this establishment is a risk in itself. There was no misunderstanding when it came to the puppy plan, we asked about this plan and were told this plan no longer exists. We alerted the front desk to this false advertisement, and were told a note would be made to remove it from the website. I would urge others to strongly consider ALL your other options before bringing your pet to this place.
So team...it Is rare that I leave a negative review for anyone but I have to discuss the level of unprofessionalism at this clinic....amidst these Troubling times I’ve spent over $2200 in the last nine weeks with this clinic to ensure the health and well-being of my 10-year-old Chihuahua ...The rotation of vets are wonderful minus Dr. Evans horrible bedside manner....Frustrated and out of money from the $320 last week I asked to have pain medicine for my dog they ensued for another blood test yet another pop on the pocketbook! I merely asked for a refill from one of the other vets that it already prescribed it the prior month....Buyers beware....I asked for a dental quote that was $672 compared to $179 at another local clinic! Scandalous margins....especially when taking advantage of consumer when their precious pet is involved.
They were so kind and attentive and patient and understanding. My pup has pretty bad anxiety at the vet due to a lot of poking and prodding when he was a sick little baby and a few other unfortunate circumstances throughout the years but they were very calm and professional and let him gain their trust slowly by head rubs and treats and were very gentle with him even while he was jumpy. I got in and out of there with everything we need in good time and they were very quick to respond when I first emailed them. It is a very pleasant atmosphere as soon as you walk in the door. They helped me prioritize and I made it out not spending a fortune. I am extremely grateful for this facility and the staff for helping me take care of my puppy and for welcoming us with, literally, open arms. Thank you all! Highly recommend.
I live in the west side of Nashville, but I used to drive to east Nashville to take my many pets to the vet. Then one day I was driving down Jefferson street and I saw a brand new veterinary clinic had opened called City Pets. It was MUCH closer to my home, which is a big deal when one has as many pets as I do. So I stopped and made an appointment for one of my dogs. I couldn’t have made a better decision! Dr. Evans and her incredible staff have been taking the very BEST care of my dogs and cat ever since! Thorough, logical, accommodating, compassionate, friendly...there aren’t enough words to adequately describe how completely satisfied and happy I am with Dr. Evans and her veterinary team. Amazing. This is as good as it gets. My furry family is in the very best of hands at City Pets. Highly recommended!!
As someone who runs a small non-profit animal rescue; I CANNOT say enough good things about the vets and the staff at City Pets. When we started working with them, I was very up front with the owner, Dr. Evans. I was wanting/needing a practice that will not only provide top notch care for the pets in our rescue, but also be willing to have an open dialogue and collaborate. We are always looking for ways to do things better and to understand things. I ask a lot of questions...and never once have any of the doctors or vet techs treated me like I was a bother. In fact, I always feel like they are happy to share their knowledge, which I truly appreciate. Working with a practice that cares about their patients and clients the way City Pets does, is worth every single penny!
Dr. Evans and her staff helped me navigate the last three years of my sweet 16 year old Australian Shepherd's life. Having a senior dog was difficult at times, but Dr. Evans always spent time explaining everything to me even when the list was long. I am quite cost conscious, and she always explained the fees and let me choose what action to take. Last week, when it was time to let Simka go, I was confident with Dr. Evans helping me make the right decision. She knew Simka. I had to leave Simka for two hours while I went to get my family so we could all say goodbye. Her staff sat right beside my pup loving on her while I was gone. Dr. Evans hires incredible people who were just the help we needed that hard day. I am so appreciative to Savannah especially. Thank you all.
My wife and our 2 Chihuahua's moved to Nashville several months ago and our greatest fear was finding a local veterinarian that loved and cared for our girls like our old vet did. We read a couple reviews in various places but mainly because of their close proximity to our new home, we settled on City Pets. OMG, having had pets for over 50 years, we have experienced the good the bad and the ugly in Vets, now we can add The Best. Never have we found a more caring and concerned group of professionals. Even our girls like going to the V E T and we no longer have to spell it out just to get them in the car. One of the greatest things about moving to Nashville is our new Veterinarian, Dr. Evans. Thank you Glenn & Cindy & Charro & Lolita Edwards Germantown
City Pets is by far a blessing to every pet owner in Nashville. Never have I felt such relief and trust in a vet who provided the BEST comprehensive care ever. My cats were not getting anywhere near the care elsewhere that they receive at City Pets. Affordable prices, constant and clear communication from the vet techs and the Dr’s., immediate improvement to my cats to any issue that may arise. Their office staff is kind and friendly; answering any questions, giving you advice and tips even over the phone. Calling back twice to follow up on your pet and you to make sure your pet is okay and you are ok with any aftercare treatment. I cannot believe I ever considered another veterinarian before City Pets. Found our ‘fur-ever’ vet and we are grateful.
I highly recommend City Pets Animal care! I know my pet is in great hands with the staff. They are extremely transparent and up front about all their pricing. The technician brought me an iPad with each line item and why it was important for my pets health and I was able to ask questions right there. After my first visit with my pet to meet the staff, I received a cute “Thank you” card in the mail and it made me feel welcomed. My pet is fearful and can be a lot to handle when it comes to going to the vet, but the staff has never made me feel unwelcome. They even let you stay with your pet while they administer vaccines and medications. If you are looking for a friendly and transparent clinic for your pet, I recommend City Pets in a heartbeat!
I absolutely LOVE THIS PLACE! I recently rescued a 4-year old dog and as a first time dog owner was a little intimidated by the prospect of going to the vet. All the staff here is incredibly compassionate and patient. They really helped me understand exactly what my little furball (Daisy) needed and why prior to administering any medication. Everyone is also really great with Daisy considering she can be a little skiddish. I would recommend this place to anyone in the Nashville area. Their phone response time is also incredible which I seriously appreciate. The prices are fair and I don't feel like they are over prescribing/over billing me and for someone who works in the healthcare industry that's really important!
Dr. Evans and her team are phenomenal. I have a challenging five-year-old Great Dane who is so timid and sometimes terrified of places like veterinary clinics. We have been seeing Dr. Evans and her team since May 2017, and they do such a great job accommodating my nervous dog. The knowledge and wisdom of Dr. Evans has stunned me. She has treated and diagnosed my dog with some unusual illnesses and complications. My dog is happy and healthy because of Dr. Evans’ thorough assessment and her careful consideration of the best treatment. Dr. Evans always takes the time to answer any of my questions and concerns. The high quality of care given to my dog by Dr. Evans and her team is the reason my dog is flourishing today.
I worked/took all if my dogs to a corporate pet hospital for the better part of a decade. I left that company and stopped taking our babies there because of the lack of time, care and education behind their care (and other pets) was horrid. I originally picked City Pets because they were in walking distance of us and they had great reviews. We have stayed because we (and our little loves) feel like family. They know myself, my husband and all three pups by name and make you feel so at home. They take a low stress approach which with 3, crazy chihuahuas makes me feel so at ease. We love Dr. Evans and the entire staff here. We will be lifetime clients ❤️ Love , Meg,Brett, Oinky, Gus Gus and Frankie Wilmer
Dr. Evans and Bailee are simply amazing! They treat me and my pup like family every time we walk in the door. Visiting their office feels more like a visit to a friend's home rather than the dreaded vet, no matter the reason. I was unaware of my 2 yr old Goldendoodles health issues, until one morning she had a pretty scary episode. After being told by our previous veterinarian that they couldn't get us in until the following week, I called City Pets and they urged me to bring her in right away. Their genuine love and passion for animals is made effortlessly apparent by the care that they give. I would recommend City Pets to family, friends, and strangers alike!
After an initial miscommunication on the part of the receptionist and myself, City Pets scrambled to make room for my sick pup on a busy day. Turns out that my nearly 13 year old Bentley was sicker than I had originally thought and I made the tough decision to have him put down. Dr. Evans and staff made what is one of the hardest decisions of my life as comforting as possible. Overall I was in the facility nearly 3 hours and never felt rushed or pressured as they understand the love between an owner and his/her pet. I will be sure to use Dr. Evans and City Pets staff when it comes time for my next four legged best friend. Thank you!
I adopted a kitten that came home with a respiratory infection. He started to get worse, and I really needed to get him to a vet. I called my regular vet two days in a row, and they refused to see him stating they were too busy. I started calling around to other places, and City Pets was the only place that made an effort to try and work him in. They were able to work him in first thing the next morning. Every staff member I dealt with was so nice. They all said how cute and sweet my kitten is and explained everything they needed to do and why. They even called to check on him the next day. They will be my new vet moving forward!
City Pets is awesome! Dr. Evans and her team are very welcoming, supportive and informed on the latest and greatest treatments available for your fur babies. Dr. Evans has been patient with us and really listened to our concerns before determining next treatment steps. Did I mention the amazing house converted to a veterinarian office?! It’s beautifully decorated, sparkling clean and they even have soothing music playing that relaxes you and your fur babies. Oh and when you are escorted to a treatment room they bring your baby a bowl of fresh water. I can’t say enough good things about City Pets! Highly recommend.
I originally had some miscommunications with Dr. Evans and left a negative review. She reached out twice and was eager to discuss my pet’s visit and talk about how we could move forward. After learning more about my visit and the original confusion as to why my pet was treated by Dr. Anderson rather than Dr. Evans she very kindly offered a complimentary visit if we felt it was necessary. I now understand why there is a charge for prescriptions and she even offered a solution to the reason I was using Chewy, which sells black market products?! In the end I am very happy in how everything worked out!
we just moved to Nashville and for some reason, our dogs have not acclaimed well to our new place. It seems they are sick every other week with something strange! Thankfully, City Pets is right around the corner and is great about getting us in quickly. So far, the staff there has demonstrated: - High quality care and compassion - Prompt responses to questions and concerns - Great follow-up I highly recommend Dr. Evans for your pet's needs. I can tell she genuinely loves animals and wants to love on your pets. For the people who skim reviews and need a one liner: GO HERE YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED.
Poor customer service. Do your self and your pet a favor and find a different vet. They only care about money not your pet. City Pets can respond how they want. You lack customer service and communication. I am fully aware my husband was 8 min late but he did call for reason out of his control however you want to deny that call and without further communication you charge $60 when the person who called me said she could probably waive it and would get back to me - However no response just a charge. Hope you enjoy t he $60 - maybe you should take your staff to lunch and discuss customer service.
City Pets is so great! In addition to being very conveniently located for me, they are so gentle and sweet to my dog Daisy and always willing to take the extra time with her when she's nervous. They are prompt in their follow-up, and proactive in letting me know about necessary shots. We originally came in because Daisy was having a terrible allergic reaction to something and she was feeling a million times better 24hours later. Now when we enter allergy season they give me a heads up that she may need another shot to get ahead of that and keep her from getting miserable again.
Don't write reviews often but just had to for the excellent care I received today from City Pets Animal Care for my sweet kitty cat. First, I was so happy they were able see my cat so quickly for a non-urgent issue (3 days after reaching out to them/ the day I requested). Second, Nurse Savannah and Dr. Evans were very patient, helpful, and kind for my appointment and even after when I called a few hours later with a medication question. I felt like my cat was in great hands with them and I'm glad to have found a reliable vet here in Nashville! We will be back next time.
THE BEST. I was so lucky that when I moved to Nashville Dr. Evans was right down the street from my house. My old vet where I moved from was wonderful so I was worried it would take me a while to find the right vet here in Nashville. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Evans and her staff. They are caring, compassionate, thorough, and highly knowledgeable. They go the extra mile (or 2!) to ensure my dogs are as healthy as they can be and that all my questions and concerns are addressed. I'm so grateful to have found City Pets. There's no better vet in the city.
Just had our first visit at City Pets and they were WONDERFUL!! I had been trying out other vets in the area that all came highly recommended but left disappointed each time. Everyone at City Pets was so friendly from the moment we walked in the door to when we left. The nurse and vet took a lot of time understanding my dog Hunter and being accommodating of his anxiety. And the price was super reasonable for everything he got done today! Can’t wait to bring him back in 2 weeks for a dental, and to start bringing my other pets here! Thanks, City Pets!
All of the staff I have encountered at City Pets are all incredibly sweet and very clearly love their jobs and the animals that they care for. Dr Evans is also very sweet and seems very knowledgeable and confident. They were all extremely comforting in a stressful situation when my 2 month old puppy was very sick (she's healthy and energetic as can be now!!). It has a very home-town feel to it, and you can tell that they care very much about personal relationships with the people and animals that walk through their door. Would definitely recommend!
City pets took such great care of our eight year old male cat Princeton. He is very nervous and with getting older had some issues pop up. The kindest staff I have ever had the pleasure of meeting made us feel so much more comfortable and at ease with his procedures, and I can’t thank them enough! Communication on pricing, his issues, and just overall friendliness was so helpful in this uncertain scary situation. Thank you all so much for taking such great care of our baby! We are so happy to have a wonderful, safe place to take Princeton.
I am so beyond grateful that I chose to bring my cats to City Pets! I adopted a hospice cat (I was told he had bone cancer) but thanks to Dr. Evans' and Dr. Anderson's diligence, we discovered that he has a rare infection that they are doing their best to treat. They always respond right away if I have questions & fit my cat into the schedule immediately if there is an emergency. Everyone here is very committed to excellent care, and they are all so supportive of my little man! I know he is a difficult case, but he is in the best of hands.
Had appointment for 2 dogs. Only one of them needed the visit. I was running late for one of the appointments. I called to let them know I was getting off at the exit but going to be about 10 minutes late. They suggested that I come another time. I told them I am pulling up in your parking lot now and only need one of my dogs checked out. They refused to see either one and then charged me a missed appointment fee.($25 per pet) I don't know how good or bad their veterinarian service is but I do know they will rip you off.
I love my 7 lbs Chi mix more than anything. The quality of care bar is high for this little guy and I'm happy to have found a local vet that exceeded expectations. The staff would light up when he would come through the door, and even though no dog enjoys the vet they had a way to keep him content and mellow during any procedure. They take great care of their regular customers, are excellent and speedy with referrals to specialists. Most importantly, I know my dog is healthier thanks to City Pets.
Cooper is my first pet ever. It has been crazy initially when I got him. He is a rescue and was 8 weeks when I got him. Was abused, hurt and had Parvo when I got him. We both are lucky that we found Dr. Evans. Dr. Evans and her team were amazing and very caring helped us every single time we visited them including accommodating us with same day appointments even if they were having a super busy day. They will go above and beyond to help us. We will sure miss them after our big move.
I’ve known Dr. Evans for many years (even before she was a Dr!) and I have been bringing my 4 year old pup here for almost her entire life and have never once been disappointed! Her staff has been nothing but kind and have taken care of my baby so well. I would trust Dr. Evans and her staff without any hesitation and know that she is professional and believes in taking care of animals because they deserve love and attention, not because they bring in a paycheck. Juno loves her vet!
They work miracles here. City Pets saved my kitten's life. I adopted a kitten who had a life threatening parasite. We didn't know if she was going to survive the night. Within hours her doctor had her stable and returning home. By the next morning she was right back to her very active and playful self. She should have died with the parasite she had, but they stopped everything in their day to save her. I wholeheartedly recommend City Pets- they're miracle workers.
Staff is all very kind to your face but pricing is well over rated and its very clear profit is at the forefront of everyone's mind rather than actual patient care. Very unaccommodating and unwilling to help out where allowances can be made. I have never heard of a $15 fee for using an online pharmacy for prescriptions while they overcharge for prescriptions at their facility that I can get for a 3rd of the price through VetRx. Very disappointed and unimpressed.
City Pets is designed to keep people and pets comfortable the entire visit, I don't think my dog even realized she was at the vet! The entire staff showered her with love, the techs and vet got on ground level with my pup instead of making her get on an anxiety inducing exam table, and they explained everything thoroughly before asking me to make any decisions. So grateful to have the peace of mind that my dog is so well cared for now that I've found this vet :)
Highly recommend City Pets. Dr. Evans and staff at City Pets were with us, step by step, as we cared for our sweet dog, Roo, battling renal failure. We fulfilled our commitment to Roo in January of 2021 and I can honestly say that it was Dr. Evans and her care that allowed us to enjoy days, weeks, months, and possibly years with Roo that we otherwise would not have had. Dr. Evans was with us until the very last moment and we our forever grateful to City Pets.
Perfect match for me and my fur baby, and I bet my bottom dollar that it would be for you too! They not only make you feel at home, and attentive to your needs, but they are knowledgeable and caring to every heart that passes through their door. Dr. Evans and her staff are there to provide the best service they can, NOT about squeezing every last $ out of you. I trust the care that they provide and support they offer at every visit!
Dr. Evans and her staff go above and beyond in caring for my baby like their very own. We are always greeted with a friendly face and leave every appointment feeling great about the care received. If I ever have a problem or question I can always pop in or call and I know I can rely on them for support. I can’t imagine trusting any other office with my baby and highly recommend to anyone in search of excellent care for their pet.
I have been taking my two dogs to City Pets for over a year now, and have not one single negative thing to say. Dr. Evans and her staff go above and beyond to take care of my fur babies as if they were their own. I truly feel welcomed and like I am the only client they have as soon as I walk in the door. Outstanding service! I recommend City Pets to every pet parent I come in contact with. Thanks for being amazing!
Im new to the area and had a dog emergency, they took SUCH amazing care of moose and got me in the same day that i called in a panic. I could not recommend them more! They took the best care of him and are so affordable. Moose usually is a fighter at the vet and they were so sweet and gentle that he felt safe enough to stay calm. I literally love these people and cannot express how thankful i am for them
City Pets Animal Care has been a major blessing in my life! I adopted a very small, sickly little dog a while back and they have walked with me through this journey every step of the way. They answer my emergency calls, ease my worries, and provide my little man with the very best care possible. The love, respect and kindness they show my little DJ is enough to keep me as a customer for his entire life.
City Pets has been absolutely amazing! I have recommended all of my co-workers to bring their fur babies here and everybody has nothing but great things to say about them!! Both Dr. Evans and Bailee were awesome when we got there and they kept me in the loop with everything that was going on which was super helpful and calming. Again, I would recommend anyone to them because of how awesome they are!
Dr. Evans & Bailee are super friendly & knowledgable, and their office space is very inviting. My lab is very anxious being at the vet but he seemed calmer here because of the hospitable environment. They offer new services that I'd not heard of but seem like good alternatives to vaccines, etc. and really want the best for my dog. I'm grateful to have them looking after my sweet pup.
I absolutely adore City Pets Animal Care and Dr. Evans!! They always take such good care of my dog and make me feel recognized. It’s a wonderful office and I’ve had nothing but incredible experiences. Bridget is our favorite nurse. Her and all the other great staff treat my dog like royalty. He even gets a birthday card signed by the staff every year. Highly recommend!
Amazing all around. Incredible vets who genuinely care about the well being of your fur family, friendly and caring staff, great vibes. Pricing is fair and definitely worth it for their expertise. They take care of my three fur pups, and I trust them with all aspects of their care. Definitely check them out if you’re in or around the Nashville area
The crew at City Pets is amazing. They definitely make you and your fur babies feel like part of the family. They have given great care to all my pets. Based on their expertise, they give many options and recommendations on what needs to done, what can be put off, and or it’s an emergency. I highly recommend City Pets for a place to take all animals.
I've taken all three of my dogs to Dr. Evans for over a year now and we have received excellent service at each visit! Her staff is always very friendly and helpful as well. On top of great care, Dr. Evans also solved a skin problem with one of my dogs that we've dealt with for over five years. I would highly recommend this clinic to any and all!
Buddy is my adopted dog via marriage. He loves walking up to City Pets Nashville and rarely wants to leave. The best part for me is that Dr. Evans will reach out to my wife Dr. Talley, M.D. when the level of questions goes above my pay grade. When City Pets Animal Care opened up we switched to our neighborhood provider and have not regretted it.
Dr. Eva Evans and all of city pets animal care is the only place I trust to take care of my pup! They are always so kind, friendly, and knowledgeable it really sets my mind at ease knowing my dog is getting the best veterinary care. They have a great facility and are always up front with pricing. I recommend City Pets to everyone I know!!
This vet goes above and beyond when we bring Luna and Nala in. They take care to provide the information I need to make decisions, follow-up when they are sick and are always compassionate. I was nervous about who to trust after a mistake was made with my cat at another vet, but I fully trust Dr. Evans with Nala and Luna's care.
Dr. Evans and her team are truly amazing. Every time my pooch and I visit we are always greeted with a warm welcome. My dog is always treated with care and made to feel at home. The staff are very knowledgeable, as well as sensitive to both my dog and I. Great communication and clarity. So Happy we are apart of their family!!!
Really friendly and progressive full service veterinary closest to Nashville’s best historic neighborhoods (Jefferson Street, Germantown, Salemtown and Buena Vista). Just took my 12 week old American Pocket Bully there and he loved it some much I'm now switching vets to bring my 12 year old Greyhound. They know their stuff
Great care for my Siberian husky. He can be a handful but the staff loves him. They never try to oversell me, and I honestly like the curb side. While I love other dogs, I typically work from my phone as I drop off during business hours. Makes me not have to take time out of the office and gets my main dude the best care.
I highly recommend this place! Dr. Evans was recommended for canine acupuncture by Dr. Cranfield who does canine chiropractic on my little guy. We've had great results as my little one has responded well with this treatment. He walks and sits straighter after each session. We'll continue going here as long as necessary.
This place is way over priced. Expect to pay over $600 for a spay and an insane amount for annual shots. You can get all this done for 1/10th of a price anywhere else. They also like to schedule an “evaluation” appointment to try and upsell you. Just be aware. ALWAYS ask for pricing over the phone first.
I strongly recommend City Pets Animal Care for your fur babies! My dog Lucy loves the sweet care she gets here with Dr. Evans and her staff. They truly love dogs and treat them like their family. City Pets is also great with reminding me when vaccines are due and explaining the importance of them. =)
City Pets is by far the best vet experience I have had. I brought my cat in today (who is a ball of anxiety) because he was not feeling well & they were so gentle & comforting him the entire time. As a crazy cat mom, I must say I really appreciate the staff & all that they do for me & my cat!
Awesome experience here for a first time visitor. The entire staff was friendly and welcoming to me and my pet. They all genuinely cared about her well being. Even got a handwritten thank you note after my visit. I will be making this my permanent stop for all pet related needs!
Dr. Evans and her staff offer the best veterinary care in the Nashville area. Period. Since moving to Nashville, their personal attention to the needs of my aging pup (13+ year old lab) are simply unmatched and I would not go anywhere else. City Pets Animal Care is the best!
I love bringing my baby boy here. They take such good care of him and they try as best as they can to make treatment easy on your pockets. I can feel the love and care they have for animals every time I come here. I'd recommend this place to anyone with a furry friend.
I cannot recommend this group more highly. They always present me with an estimate prior to performing care which is a small thing but one that isn't always common. The level of care they provides is excellent and truly make it obvious that they care for your pets.
The care we received here was first rate, but the kindness was even better. Friendly, informative & helpful. They even took time to help me figure out documentation I needed to travel with my dog internationally. (A very confusing process) Thank you City Pets
I love City Pets! Dr. Evans is super sweet and I always feel like my concerns about my cat’s health or if I’m being a good cat mom are always heard. The staff at City Pets is also super sweet! I highly recommend City Pets for anyone looking for a vet home!
I moved to Nashville July 2018 and took my beagle Porter to see the team at City Pets. Daniel was amazing and made sure that Porter was taken care of. Dr. Evans has such an amazing bedside manner and disposition - you can tell how much she
We are happy to have veterinarian services near home. When my St. Bernard had a nose we took home to City Pets and had a wonderful experience. They were very professional and took great care of him. We are happy to report he is healed up!
Our nurse and doctor were so quick and efficient with our visit! They were extremely gentle with my cat, Salem, and were patient with him throughout the whole process. I was very nervous about how he would do, but the calm and peaceful
If you think your pet is sick and you don't want to pay the high fees charged, DON'T TAKE THEM HERE! Choices: A. $400 exploratory lab fee B. euthanize the pet C. Charged with animal cruelty, warrant issued, animal control takes your
City Pets is the absolute best. We were so fortunate to find them when we moved to Nashville 2 years ago. Bridget is a cat whisperer and is always so good with our "Spicy Meatball" cat Smokey. Everyone is always so kind and pleasant.
So calm,it's like walking into your friend home. Music is southing ,nice individual comfortable rooms for actual exam. Dr Evans is has a great repore with animals and explained everything that I needed to know about My puppy.
I have been taking my pup, Jules, to City Pets since they opened. Dr. Evans is and amazing vet and a great person all around! The staff is amazing, professional, and extremely helpful! I would recommend them to anyone!
City Pets cares about their patients and was able to get my dog in without an appointment when he had recurrent vomiting. They are very professional and know the recent medical pet literature which is very reassuring.
We won't take our pets anywhere else. This is hands down Nashville's best kept secret for pet care. Dr. Evans is exceptional and goes out of her way for each and every client. We couldn't be happier with City Pets.
My dog is very particular, and he LOVES Dr. Evans and her staff! We have had multiple visits ranging from minor issues to more serious surgical procedures, and we have continually been impressed!
City Pets Animal Care and team are amazing. Such personal and transparent care. They even sent a hand written Christmas card. If you live in Nashville, you have to take your pets to City Pets.
Great experience. Super friendly staff. Prices were great compared to some other vets nearby. In sketchy area but there is private fenced parking. Beware of surroundings
We love it here! On my dog’s birthday and she had to go in for a vaccination, each staff member signed a birthday card for her with a personal note. So sweet!
The staff very friendly and gentle with my puppy. She got 2 shots n nails clipped. They answered all the questions we had asked.
Very polite on the phone, but they do not offer services for pet rats! Offered to direct me to a place that does : )
Really great vet experience. Cat has never been so relaxed as he was today. Quiet clean and thorough.
Dr. Evans is very professional and knowledgeable. My go-to vet from here on out.
I love it they have took really good care of Princess
