October 23/23 brought my miniature shitzu in for itching issues. After exam she was in good health for he age. Prescribed Vanectyl P. 2weeks after taking medication started vomiting, diarrhea and tremors. Took her back on November 8th after much pleading. By this time she had difficulty breathing and bleeding from mouth. X-rays done. Was told she had enlarged heart. She went from 13 pounds to 22 pounds in just over 2 weeks. Sulcrate Plus prescribed to stop bleeding plus 2 other shots. That afternoon at 4:22 pm called vets office to state she was a lot worse. Bottom line is was told to keep on Sulcrate. After trusting vets recommendation my little girl died at 12:20 am November 9th in my arms. Side affects of dug should have been stressed about underlying conditions. Vet gave me hope she medication would help her. Always question the drugs prescribed to your pet. Nobody can afford to have X-rays and blood work done every time a medication is prescribed. I have video of how she was struggling. Never again at this animal hospital!

This is Jackpot. He was found as a stray but had too many health problems to be adopted out. He was less than 1 yr old and he had such a loving personality so I asked permission to take him home. He had a very large hernia that needed to be repaired but because of his other issues he was a very high anesthetic risk and it was almost impossible to intubate him to put him under a gas anesthetic. But the surgical team at Clappison was willing to try. Dr Hamilton, Kristin and Kristy (RVTs), and Aislin (ACA) were just amazing! They prepared in advance for any anesthetic emergency that might happen and Dr Hamilton was actually able to place an ET tube! Dr Hamilton worked fast and efficiently and the RVTs and ACA monitored him closely all during his surgery. He was recovered without incident and is now home and back into mischief. I can't overstate how impressed I was with the entire team's skill and care for my little Jack. Thank you so much Clappison!

I brought my dog Brody in to Clappison animal hospital with no knowledge about them or experience with them. I had called ahead to ask if they took emergencies and they were to friendly and helpful. When I got there they set someone to help me get my dog inside. They were quick to get us in and get things figured out. Within a matter of minutes we were on the right page of figuring out what was wrong with him. They weren’t out of the money and were very kind to keep me updated on what things would cost. They didn’t push me to just dump as much money in as they could get out of me like some places. They fast diagnosed what was wrong and explained in great detail what it was and what to expect. They were spot on because even today I’m seeing an improvement. I can’t say enough good things about the staff and Dr. hamilton. I will for sure recommend them to anyone I know and return back there anytime I need. Thank you so much to the wonderful team

Horrible vet. My last experience was less than pleasant. Christine (the owner) basically said my dog was a burden on her day off. She was less than pleasant to deal with. I’m shocked how she owns that place and treats people that way. They don’t thoroughly check your dog… if they even touch your dog, you’re lucky. They basically make random guesses and send you home with almost no help or answers. They will just suggest you keep coming back to spend your hard earned money. I don’t feel any vets there are personable and SOME of their receptionist are rude and extremely short with answers. Some of their receptions are nice. 9 times out of 10, my dogs come home with the exact same issue as we went there with. I post about how awful they are often on my business page, and the amount of people who reply with their horror stories from this place is overwhelming. I wanted to make others aware. There are much better vets out there.

Wouldn’t take my little Henri anywhere else!!! I have been with this vet for a little over two years. I appreciate their commitment to quick appointment bookings, to their care during the appointment and their honest assessment and options and price ranges for services. I wouldn’t take my dog (frenchie) anywhere else. The staff are beyond friendly and professional. They take the time to make you feel valued and important. My dog goes to doggie daycare which has been a lifesaver! It’s not only affordable they do photo shoots during special times of the year and so racial gifts to and from your pets. Honestly can’t speak more highly of this vet and their staff. It’s a pleasure knowing them and Henri is so lucky to be cared for by amazing people!!!

We are so appreciative of the employees and especially the “nail expert” at CAH. My sons dog almost ripped her dew claw off yesterday. He called this morning (Sunday) to see if he could make an appointment for tomorrow, thinking that it was going to be extremely expensive today. They took her in this morning and quickly removed the claw (cutting paw fur, sterilizing, numbing, bandaging and trimmed her nails). We really thought is was going to be an expensive bill involving anesthesia. It’s happened twice before and both times it was hundreds of dollars at a different vet up north. We were shocked when they only charged us for a nail trim! Great service, compassionate employees, very thankful customers!

Almost 13 years ago, one of the vets told me my pup who hadn’t turned one yet, had a life expectancy of the age of two without a diagnosis other than elevated liver enzymes. I was being milked of money and stopped at the next request of a $600 ultra sound that may or may not show something. I can tell you that the $310 ultra sound done last month by a different vet didn’t provide good news but my dog had the BEST quality of life for 13+ years. This is a business, not a hospital. Shame on you for seeing a loving pet owner willing to spend any amount… until I had a second opinion and milk thistle from Shoppers fixed her right up. Good job to my dog for proving this clinic wrong.

We have had our fair share of visits in the past few months due to our puppy getting spayed, breaking her leg etc. Every time each of the vets have been truly excellent. They're informative, realistic and take the time to talk to you and come up with plans that work. Techs and admin are also all very polite, quick to respond to emails and lovely to talk to! Hours are fantastic, and every time they have managed to get us in to the clinic whenever we needed it. Despite all the issues our puppy has had, she LOVES to go see everyone at the clinic. Highly recommend and appreciate all their care so far, won't be going anywhere else!

Very friendly service with Dr. Merry and all the staff I've met so far at the clinic. First time puppy owner here and she took time to give advice and make sure my dog was healthy and happy. We took him to different vet closer to us when he started having multiple symptoms of an illness, this vet just threw medications at us multiple times instead of trying to find out what was actually wrong. I decided to go back to Dr. Merry for her opinion and it was the best decision I made. She was able to diagnose him right away and with the right treatment he started improving immediately. We are very thankful for our experience here.

We moved our vet care to Clappison, following our move to the Burlington area. Our wonderful experience at Country Tails Doggie Daycare led us there. Our experiences with the staff at Clappison have been nothing but great and we recommend their facility for vet care to everyone we meet. They are caring, reliable and very organized when it comes to scheduling. It is also very convenient that our dog can visit daycare and receive the vet care he needs during his visit. I had to finally put my 14 year old Chow to sleep and the staff was so compassionate and kind during the entire process. They also privately cremate for a fee so you can keep the ashes of your pet in an urn or a pine box with his name on it. Because of the costs of how much both were they were very helpful in allowing us to split the payments by like 3 weeks so we could afford to do it all and didn't give us any issues about it at all. They also sent us a card with his paw print in it for free which was totally not expected but such a heartwarming gift.

Mylo love's his vet! We did a lot of research before picking a vet. The reviews on Clappison were so helpful but what really did it for us was when we called, no one pressured us to come in before getting a breakdown of charges and fees and their hours work great for someone like myself who works from 8am to 5pm. I didn't need to take a day off to get my puppy looked at. The vet's are all loving and caring. They definitely care more about his well being then us, which is how it should be. No hidden fees after the fact, everything is upfront!

Honestly I was a little apprehensive to go to a new vet (my usual vet couldn't get me in for quite awhile) but I am so glad I did! From the initial phone call to my pups appt, tests, surgery and his aftercare, everyone I have spoken to has been nothing short of amazing! A special thank you to Dr. Merry and Dr. Longridge for the amazing care my dog received and to Christine (the office manager) for being so kind and patient with me with my millions of questions and probably just as many phone calls. Great experience - friendly and knowledgeable staff. I called them on a Sunday because my dog was exhibiting abnormal behaviour, with several alarming symptoms. We were given an appointment in 30 minutes from when we called. We waited an additional 15 minutes, but considering we were a walk-in, totally understandable. The vet was great, super professional and detailed with her diagnosis and explanation. I would definitely recommend this animal hospital for regular visits and definitely for emergency care.

The staff and doctors here are fantastic at what they do. They are always accommodating, and so patient and loving to our Tyson. Will be forever grateful for the medical care they provide to my fur baby. I appreciate their honesty and transparency, and the convenience of location and hours. The veterinarians and support staff at this hospital really are an exceptional group of dedicated professionals. My wife and I have been taking our fur children here for the last seven years and have been very satisfied with the care provided by Dr. Longridge and his team. We highly recommend his care, especially if you have a cat -- the entire team is very cat friendly and compassionate towards this sensitive species. We cannot recommend Clappison's enough!

We have two dogs and one who is quite medically complicated. I cant say enough how amazing the entire staff at Clappison are, not only with our sweet little girl and her health complications, but also with us. Their pricing is fair, hours are excellent, knowledge of the veterinary team is top notch. We are so fortunate for this fantastic veterinary clinic and the service they provide.

We've been to a few different vets over the course of our dog ownership, and Clappison outshines them all. What I love most is that a) they are animal lovers of course, and b) they do not try to upsell you, or use fear tactics to get you to spend more money. They are super honest people, who only care about the health of your animal.

My family had been taking our beloved family dog there for a while and when she was ready to cross the rainbow bridge the staff at this vet were simply amazing. Mid pandemic we were able to say goodbye to our beloved newf. So now my entire family never hesitates to take out pets here. I’d never dream of going somewhere else.

We have used this vet since 1979. Needless to say with several dogs. We have always received caring service. Our most recent encounter was a covid experience and it went very well. I actually think the dog seemed calmer by being dropped off at the door than when we go in with her (a bit like toddlers at a day care).

My dog was injured camping, took a chance and brought him to Clappison Animal hospital. The receptionists/vet techs were kind and caring. Dr Hamilton was amazing--and when I told him my dog was completely deaf, he said 'l'll talk to him anyway". Enough said--if only I lived closer I would switch vets in a minute-

Dr. Meagan Barrett was so kind and compassionate when our dog Davey was experiencing pain issues with his neck. She was communicative and really took the time to evaluate Davey. Clappison’s has taken great care of our pets over many years. From daily phone calls from the vet to check on a dog who ate chicken wings to compassionate advice at the end of our beloved cat’s life, we’ve really appreciated how our pets have been cared for.
