When I tell you this place is amazing! Words cannot express how well this entire office worked synergetically to provide me with the care that I needed and it was my first time being a patient. I had a crown that fell off the week before and exposed the root canal.. to be honest that tooth had been bothering me for about a year it was discovered early in my pregnancy but the priority was to remove my wisdom teeth before they became impacted so about 5 months after having my baby I had those removed. Me having pregnancy brain (Yes it is still there even after you have the baby) completely forgot about the tooth that had the root canal I believe it was tooth number 15 anyway ... About a month later which was maybe a week or so ago My crown fell off as I said and exposed the root canal and I believe I even cracked the tooth... I called my regular dentist but they weren't able to schedule me for 3 weeks even in my condition... I took a chance on this office because the amazing Google reviews and let me tell you They had appointments available the exact day that I called however my schedule did not permit me to come in so they were able to schedule me the next day. not only did I receive an amazing evaluation with very friendly and knowledgeable staff but after thorough examination we came to realize that my tooth could not be saved because although I had a root canal the infection returned... I was like bummer because I was thinking that I would have had to get rescheduled for another office for oral surgery to my surprise and excitement They actually perform the extraction right then. My dentist and dental assistant were freaking amazing! The whole procedure took about 15 minutes and he carefully removed each route one at a time ensuring that it would not break. I was so excited that I don't even remember their names My dental assistant was newly pregnant and my dentist was an older white gentleman.. I will never go anywhere else let me just say that. The next day I called in because I was concerned that my tooth didn't bleed like normal and they explained to me that it's because the tooth had gotten a root canal and they gave me different tips and precautions again and reassured me this tooth is healing so well. I am thrilled! 1,000 stars!

I was saddened and disappointed my time in your office went so poorly. The office itself is neatly designed and the music was playing at an appropriate volume. But my encounters with the staff were memorable only for how awful they were. To be specific, both sets of assistants were being trained by other, more seasoned hygienists. When I was taken back for the first portion of my appointment, I was subjected to the most painful bitewing experience in memory. I blame much of this on the fact that it seemed as though the young woman administering the X-rays was brand new. In my humble opinion, bitewings should not be administered by a trainee in the office. Aren't there schools for this? The entire X-ray process took an exorbitant amount of time, which may be due to the fact that a trainee was working with me. When this portion of my appointment was done I thought I'd remain in the same chair and the dentist would meet with me to go over the particulars. Dr. Fleming did sit with me, but only momentarily because taking the pictures of my teeth had not been completed. He left and the trainee and veteran returned to complete what he asked. Then when THAT was complete I was asked to return to the waiting room where I would be called upon for the cleaning. After 15 minutes of waiting I was called back and was told I'd be given another set of bitewings before the cleaning process could begin. I informed this woman (who it turns out is a trainee as well) that I have already had this procedure completed. She was confused but then did some research and proceeded to tell me the mistake was a simple one because she had confused me for another patient, with the same name. In retrospect, I don't believe her. The cleaning was hurriedly finished because I was becoming visibly agitated. I don't view the cleaning as complete, though, because she never flossed! The popcorn kernel that was stuck between my teeth since the prior night was eventually removed by me with a flosser when I left the office. After two hours I left extremely disappointed and do not have any plans of returning.

I hadn't been to a dentist regularly for several years, so coming to Crossroads Dentistry came with a bit of anxiety - and some serious dread. The second I stepped into the office, they were playing a mixture of hip-hop and reggae, and it was like visiting a literal art exhibit. The overall vibe was light and welcoming. By the time I left, I was actually looking forward to my next visit - which I've NEVER experienced before. It's weird leaving the dentist in high spirits, honestly. Since then, I've had a few fillings, two root canals, and two crown fittings with zero issues. Everyone is super helpful and accommodating, and I especially love how diverse the staff is as well. Crossroads is the polar opposite of every dentist I've visited throughout my life, and it makes a world of difference. Dr. Fleming is kind and professional, and always manages to slip a story or two in while you're in the chair. Conversations are always lighthearted with Dr. Fleming, and I have an infinite appreciation for a dentist who doesn't default to shaming you for having a cavity or failing to floss. He's very straightforward with what needs to be done, and doesn't overburden you everything else that's "wrong" like a lot of dentists do. Abdul is also an indispensable part of the team. My first root canal was prefaced with a sudden onset of intense and unbearable pain - which unfortunately happened on a weekend. I called the emergency line, and within an hour, Abdul had called me back and scheduled a prescription for antibiotics and pain medicine at a local Walgreens. He then followed up and got me scheduled within that next week. He even went through the trouble of giving me his personal number when the emergency line wasn't forwarding correctly. The dude cares, and you can tell. I can't recommend Crossroads Dentistry enough. If you're on the fence, or just looking for a new dentist, schedule an appointment and see for yourself - you won't regret it.

I used to like this office, but new hygienist and doctor misinformation have made it very uncomfortable. My daughter and son had an horrible experience. My daughter was given a hygienist named Tracey who was very rough with her cleaning. My daughter has great teeth, so no need to be so rough. My son got paired with Shannon, whom was super slow (an hour and a half for a cleaning and she wasn't even done. The dentist hadn't even examined yet. Ridiculous right?!). Then, I had to roll my eyes when she claimed "serious periodontal issues for a 17 year old". We have regularly had cleanings here BEFORE getting paired with her and never has one DOCTOR claimed "periodontal issues". Now all of a sudden there is?? My son is not having complaints or issues with his teeth. My son said she poked around his gums for a long while, then left for a while and came back and poked some more! Very uncomfortable and hurtful to constantly poke one's gums over and over with that metal pointed tool! Needless to say, we won't be back to this office, even though we have used this office for the past 2 years. Also, a dentist here told my son his caps were too big and wanted to replace them, smh. My son had about 4 caps put on his back teeth by a very good, known, and skilled, Dr. Parrish in Overland Park, KS when he was 12yrs old. We moved and had seen a previous dentist whom NEVER had a concern about his caps, because they obviously fit just fine and have been for several years now. Omg! Sounds like a money grab at this office. I will be using a new office and guess what, we won't hear of these made up issues. Update: So my son was re-evaluated by new dentist and he has no periodontal disease and his caps do not need to be replaced. The only recommendation was a filling and to continue regular cleanings every 6 mos. Glad we chose to use another dental office.

How in the french toast does this place have high ratings is beyond my imagination. Lets break down my visit for having two fillings done! The equipment doesn't seem up-to-date if you been to a good dentist you would know. The front desk ladies have no clue what billing is and can't explain to you the statement of work that is going to the insurance company. They charge a $10 fee and hide it behind the coivd cleaning b.s. fee yet the office is maintained the same way post covid with a few cheap hand sanitizer bottles laying around. Just another mean to squeeze money out of the little guy. Metlife informed me they should not be charging clients! Second bizarre thing about this office is that the Dr claims he is doing two fillings which in my head, I owe 30% of the fee after my insurance pays but they charge for other work around it and tell you when the work is done ( restoration adjustment). The best part, neither the billing team (front desk) or the Dr informs you that not all the work will be covered by the insurance till afterwards. This practice totally lacks communication skills and they pray on you the patient for more money. I wont be coming here again and I highly suggest anyone to locate a better dentist in the area as there are plenty. They got mad because I had questions about the work that was done and the bill. GTFO of here!

I've been a patient of Dr. Fleming's for over a decade (off and on - my fault for not scheduling cleanings) and am very pleased with the level of detail and attention this office provides. As a teenager with braces, I didn't brush well and ended up with cavities on the tops of my front teeth (near the gum line). I had them filled by my country bumpkin dentist and went to see Dr. Fleming in 2004 when they started crumbling after MAYBE six years. Even though I was very nervous (this was my smile, after all - the first thing people notice when they meet me), I still remember him taking the time to explain to me how what he was doing was going to last much longer and look much better. And he was right - I was so happy when I came out of his office knowing my smile had improved. It's about time to have these fillings replaced (typical for resin - they only last 10 years) and I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else to have them done. His friendly support and attention to detail in 2004 is why I'm willing to drive 45 minutes one-way to continue seeing him.

I made my first appointment and I was very impressed. I was told that they would first make an appointment to take my X-rays then make another appointment for my cleaning. At first I thought that was odd and didn’t really like that idea. I went in and the appointment took an hour. I finally understood why they scheduled my X-rays and cleaning separately. Not only did they take X-rays, they also took actual pictures of my teeth and a 3D scan just in case I want to use Invisalign down the road. I liked how the hygienist would let me know what she was going to do and why needed to do it. There was never a dull or awkward moment because she would make conversation with me. Then, the doctor came in and sat down and reviewed my X-rays and pictures with me. He was very thorough and he noticed things that my previous dentists have not noticed. That day I found out things I should’ve known before from my former dentists. Everybody is very nice there! From the front desk to the clinical side. I felt very comfortable and satisfied.

Crossroads Dentistry was great!!!! I am a firefighter and was in town on a business trip and had a temporary bridge that had come off. I called the closet office to where I was staying and asked if there was anyway possible that they could fit me in to re-cement my temporary back on. They were closing in 30 minutes but the doctor said he would stay late to help me out. I made it to the office about 10 minutes later and was treated very well and Dr. Fleming and staff were amazing. He cleaned the old cement out of the temporary and off my teeth and then re-cemented the bridge back on. I was able to make it back to my classes and made it thru the rest of my trip. Thank you so much and kudos to the staff at Crossroads Dentistry and Dr. Fleming. As someone who really does not like the dentist, my experience with your staff was great. Thank you so much!! The absolute best! Everyone in the office makes you feel extremely well taken care of. I’ve had many a filling done in addition to regular cleanings and it’s a great experience every time! (And I never thought I would say that about going to the dentist, as I had a fear of going for a very long time.) I have seen a lot of dentists in the KC Metro area and even out of state, and Crossroads is by far the top of my list. Side note, the office is also part of the Crossroads Art District (hence the name), and their lobby doubles as a gallery which adds to the already great atmosphere! I have also never had an issue with parking - I’ve always been able to find a free spot right outside the front door or close. Thank you to everyone in the office who is an expert at what they do and goes above and beyond for their patients every day.

Dr. J Fleming and his staff are super cool and nice! He is very knowledgeable. Only reason I rate 4 stars is because the visit was a bit more expensive than I anticipated. I went in for a broken permanent retainer. Usually only cost $70 but came out to $125 because the dental hygienist took pictures that really weren’t necessary. Which isn’t bad, just not super cost friendly for the doctor to look at for 1 second. Many doctors are care first, cost second (totally get it as professional). But unfortunately right now there needs to be a balance between cost and care for many of us. Be sure to communicate that you only want what is necessary. However, 5 stars for care, efficiency, knowledge!

Dr. Fleming is an excellent dentist. I switched to Crossroads Dentistry after my prior denist put 12 messed up fillings in my teeth. Dr. Fleming takes extra time to ensure fillings are of a similar shape your tooth's original structure. He and his staff are all genuinely caring individuals who take their role and your care seriously. They go out of their way to endure you will be billed fairly by your insurance provider and of course that you receive appropriate care for your issues. Don't bother looking around. If Crossroads Dentistry is in your insurance provider's network, use them for your dental needs. Their expertise and professionalism is among Kansas City's best, if not the best.

Exactly what you love to see. The entire staff is kind, professional, and efficient. Their office is close to mine in the Crossroads which, if you work/live downtown, should make getting in for an appointment easy. I’ve had a routine check-up & a restoration on two filings and both times I was in the staff & Dr. Fleming provided exceptional service. Definitely worth noting that the design for their space embraces & radiates the vibe of KC’s Art District. Everything from the architecture of their internal space to the art work on display to the music playing throughout the day fits perfectly with the concept of the Crossroads.

I had a tooth emergency, unfortunately called right after they closed, but they still picked up the phone! I got in first thing the next morning with Dr. Daniel Fleming, even though it was short notice and he had other patients, he still was sure to get what I needed to stop the pain until he got back. I got my medication I needed and they already set up an appointment to finish up repairing my tooth. I just moved to the crossroads area and just got new insurance so I’m pretty thankful for this occurrence because I definitely found my new go to dentist!

I've had great experiences at crossword dentistry! Dr. Fleming recommended that I needed a root canal and a crown on the day of my second visit. I wasn't expecting that, but it needed to be done. Dr. Fleming is very knowledgeable and professional. He made me feel at ease and comfortable in his approach during the procedure. Awesome front desk staff! Youre pleasantly greeted with a warm welcome when you check with your temperature taking. They make you feel like they truly care about you when it comes to your dental health. Wow. This is one cool dental practice. I hadn't been to any dentist in 10 years but I knocked a filling out and needed an emergency appointment. They fit me in within 5 days. I was super stressed about the cost because I have no dental insurance. They walked me through every treatment option - with that in mind. And they never made me feel "less than" because money was tight. The arty environment is completely awesome...Liz Phair was playing when I walked in! I didn't know a place like this existed.

This was my first visit after finding out “No pain Jane “ was no longer around town ☹️. I Have horrible medical and dental anxiety from really bad experiences in my past while having and not having insurance. Everyone was super nice. Didn’t make me feel bad for my anxiety. Nice atmosphere. Great location for me. Definitely recommend trying out for yourself and see if it’s a good fit for you. 1,000,000 % better than Umkc dental school experience in my opinion. Assuming u have insurance.

I was very nervous to come in after having not been to the dentist in too long. The staff were ALL very friendly and warm. I also noticed the true diversity of the employees. My hygienist was very compassionate and kind. Dr. Fleming was straightforward about what was our next steps and answered all my questions. The space is beautiful and the music during my appointment was also a welcome distraction from my nerves. I had no idea that a dentist appointment could be that enjoyable.

Brittany, my dental hygienist, has taught me so about how to properly take care of my oral health that I would have never known without her help and knowledge. She is friendly, personable, and exceptionally smart and truly cares for the patients she is working with. I just switched to this dentistry office after moving from the northland to Westport and it has been one of the best decisions I have made in a while. Dr. Fleming is wonderful as well, as the rest of the staff!

Great dentist in the trendy Crossroads District. Dr. Fleming and his staff are wonderful. The dental hygienist (Vienna) was awesome and had an awesome, bubbly personality. I felt very comfortable with my visit and the staff took time to explain to me what was going on with my teeth in a manner which was clear to me. Loved the feel of the open loft concept along with all the artwork and smells of bacon coming from Mildred's next door. Would highly recommend this dentist!

I love my experience at this office every time! Stephanie is super professional, caring and always does a fantastic job! The Dentists are great, especially Dr. Fleming, he is a bright guy with a lot of character and charm! The music especially is my favorite. There is always something interesting playing that calms you down while getting your teeth cleaned! The Crossroads location is a plus, I walk to my appointment! Or grab lunch in the crossroads before I head in!

Dr. Fleming and the kind and knowledgeable staff at Crossroads Dentistry have been nothing short of fantastic and great at their work since I switched to them from my former dentist early last year. Especially during our current Covid circumstances, they have been very diligent and reworked their entire office to accommodate safe space and hygiene for all involved. These are talented and thoughtful folks who really do great work. I could not recommend them more.

Great visit with Vienna (hygienist) and Dr. Daniel! All of the staff were friendly & approachable (though I did have to wait a few minutes at the beginning since it was one of the first appointments of the day & some staff weren't in yet). Vienna did a wonderful job cleaning my teeth and was funny and entertaining, she explained proper brushing & flossing technique too! I'm so glad I found this office!

It's always a pleasant experience at Dr Fleming's office. First of all, coming in there is always a new art display. You're greeted by the kind staff and then all the assistants are friendly and quite skilled. You never feel pressured or embarrassed about anything. Makes one have a positive mindset about going to the dentist which isn't always the case at other offices.

I felt a sense of comfort from the time I walked in the door to the time I walked out every single person I came in contact with made me feel extremely comfortable and welcome. Wait times was not alone and the dentist was extremely nice and understanding. I would definitely recommend this office especially if you're someone uncomfortable about your situation.

Dentist was informative, effective, and receptive to my concerns. I really appreciate my hygienist, Vienna. Always does quality work with a genuinely friendly and compassionate attitude. She also spontaneously provides ample education, which have always improved me understanding of my oral health and improved my ability to take care of my teeth and gums.

Each of the staff seemed to genuinely care about my well being. They provided some excellence tips to help me on my journey of a more excellent oral hygiene practice.

I had a horrible toothache and I was told all my nerves were dead within the tooth from a previous dentist, however this second opinion was great news, I could keep my tooth after all, no extraction needed. They allowed me to come in without an appointment, everyone was so sweet and kind. Definitely recommend Crossroads Dentistry!

This dental office always works with me and my busy schedule to ensure I am able to be seen. I enjoy the relaxing environment of the office with artwork to view and music to listen to. Dr. Fleming and Abdul are always gracious and helpful. It's an office where when you come in, they recognize you and know your name!

I am irrationally afraid of the dentist but had the best experience ever. The hygienist was so careful and gentle that I almost fell asleep during the cleaning. Dr. Dan was friendly and gave the most thorough exam I have ever had. Showing me my xrays and explaining what he saw was an added bonus. I will be back!

I typically have a pretty great experience. My last visit was out of the norm. Wasn't my usual hygienist. Didn't get any Vaseline on my lips prior to commencing and felt like I had chapped / burned / cut lips for a few days after, took me a bit to correlate the two as it has not been a common experience there.

We’ve been going here for about three years and have had a great experience. Everyone is friendly and helpful, it’s easy to reschedule appointments too. My husband had a urgent problem with a filling before we were going to leave for an international vacation and they fixed the problem quickly getting him in.

Best dentist experience ever! He was friendly and funny, had good music playing (lol), and was gentle throughout the exam. His assistants were fantastic and the front desk lady is SO sweet. They helped me through my pain and gave me good referrals and recommendations! Can't wait for my cleaning in two weeks!

I am not a fan of going to the Dentist. However, Crossroads Dentistry has changed that for me! I love the staff, and the atmosphere and the obscure music that you get to here while getting services! Music is played from all different genres and it’s a transcending experience, overall!

Upon finding a concerning lump inside my lip, Dr Fleming was able to see me the same day. After a careful examination, it determined the lump was not likely a problem, but to keep an eye on it for changes. I was greatly appreciative for his quick response and attention to the problem.

Come here for cleanings and it's always fast and as enjoyable as the dentist can be! Recently cracked my tooth and was anticipating scheduling a second appt for work to be done, dentist sat down and fixed it right away! Love it here and its the most aesthetically pleasing office ever!

My first visit was a (now non) emergency. They got me in fast, super friendly and trendy yet comfortable environment. Everyone - all the staff - made eye contact and made me feel like I could ask anything.

This appointment was a cleaning. There is a new Hygienist, Stacey. She is very thoughtful of her patients. The entire staff @ Crossroads with Dr. Fleming @ the top is very knowledgeable, @ gentle.
