SERVICE DISAPPOINTMENT The staff are always friendly & helpful. However, last week I arrived twice to drive away empty handed after waiting over 10 minutes each time. MASK MANDATE Ok, it's inconvenient to wear a mask, but it was mandated for ALL Queensland's from 1am Monday..... Monday 20th December 2021 The first time I attempted, there were a long line with 40% of the customers not wearing a mask. I sat in the car to see if the line would reduce, but the service was very slow. I was disappointed to see two of the girls serving inside the bakery were also not wearing a mask? 2ND EXPERIENCE SAME WEEK Myself and another customer left after waiting in line for over 10 minutes. DURING OUR WAIT An older woman was there with 2 young children waiting on a pie. A family all without face masks were seated waiting on drinks and walking back/forth for their order items. A woman stood talking and ordering during the entire 10 minutes at the cashier. There were a number of staff behind the counter. Yet, service was extremely slow. NO FACE MASK A young female staff member approx 15/16 years of age was serving without a face mask.

Davies Bakery is a great bakery and I visit it every other day on my way to work to buy bread rolls for my lunch. But it's not just their bread rolls the cream doughnuts are the real deal not just bread with cream and jam. The savory danishes are great for breaky as are the scrolls both sweet and savory, I even buy the cakes for morning tea at the office on occasion and the office staff love everything I buy from here. This is a real special find so if you ever drive down Toohey road stop in and try something you won't be disappointed I promise. This is not one of the franchise bakeries where they seem to make all their variations with the same dough, Davies bread is different textures and you can also taste the difference like a soft burger roll is not the same as a tiger roll. This is own by a baker who cares about baking!!!

Cheap, Expensive, and Simply Horrible Tasteless food. The matter here is very simple: 1) Their loaf of bread is about 70% more expensive than the Brisbane average. One may say "It's more expensive bcs it's better". No, it is not, it is actually worse quality. 2) WORST PIES EVER: the fillings do NOT TASTE LIKE ANYTHING! 3) They are even cheap persons: I bake pizza, and I prefer to use fresh yeast. So when I need some fresh I always go to good bakeries, and ask them about 6-10 grams. Naturally, I always buy some bread, and some pastries or pies. IN SIX YEARS, being that I ask for such a ridiculously low quantity of yeast, NO ONE, EVER, made me pay for the yeast itself. THESE GUYS CHARGED ME 40 cents FOR 4.3gr!!! Disgusting!!! N.B. A PACKAGE OF 30gr OF FRESH YEAST COSTS $1. They are Revolting.

We came here for pies and sausage rolls on a recommendation, so the place has clearly built up some good word of mouth over the years. The pastry on both pies and sausage rolls was top notch and their was little chunks of beef in the pie (which I love). The pie was a little light on gravy and sadly lacking in flavour. The sausage rolls probably had even less flavour than the pie. Overall, not a bad experience because it's modern with a nice little set up and it looks like they have a small range of good looking pastries.

Best bakery in Brisbane. Davies Bakery had been an absolute institution since I was young. We used to stop in after primary school for the best bakery treats. Now nearly 20 years later they are still going strong and better than ever! The best loaves of bread you will ever eat, pies, sausage rolls, American style cinnamon scrolls you will honestly travel for! I've taken them as far as Tugan and Redcliffe for family and friends! Do yourself a carby, no guilty, favor and get out to Davies Bakery

The sliced white loaf is really great and in normal weather it lasts fresh for 3 days . But recent heatwaves and social pensioner units clash in the sultry hot. This reduces life of all breads and Davies is no exception unfortunately and the bread was mouldy after 60 hours in good weather the bread toasts great after 6 to 7 days holding the moisture well in a smart bread bin . This week I have a pane do casa and its 4 days old! still going well but near finishe

Twice ordered tea to have it liquify the inside of my mouth in a lava like manner. Third time asked for a “not too hot” tea and it came out an undrinkable tepid temperature you could bathe a baby in. Asked for it to be heated up a bit so it was drinkable and was told to wait. 10 mins later still nothing and had to leave to make an appointment ~$5 poorer with nothing to show. Stick to the coffee which seems to be something they can manage.

Nice looking bakery with overpriced food about sums it up. Chicken roll that didn’t fill me and a Powerade was the same price as a ultimate burger box that I normally don’t finish. To your Reply: every bakery used fresh products but there rolls are roughly $3 cheaper with a lot more meat and salad on the bun. Yous ain’t subway, the roll I bought wasn’t made freshly before my eyes so yous shouldn’t be charging franchise prices

BEST lamingtons in Brisbane, maybe Queensland or the whole of Australia, big call I know but they are always so fluffy [moist] and delicious. Worth trying the carrot cake, hot cross buns in Easter time [they even toast and butter them for you too - it’s the little things] and the sourdough. Your coffee used to be really strong but haven’t found it as strong lately, those lamingtons keep us coming back though!

Decided to give this suburban bakery a go as too lazy to head into city and was pleasantly surprised! Had the curry steak pie and sausage roll which were divine and flavourful. The almond croissant was different from the usual flaky crusty croissants (think Lune & the Whisk) with a custard like filling and generous toppings of almond flakes. Texture could be improved on but the taste is good overall

  • Wendy

This is a very popular bakery with a good range of bread, cakes, pies, freshly made sandwiches, and rolls. The bread is really good here! I haven't tried the coffee yet, but there were people coming just to buy the coffee, and it was clear they were regulars. There's a pleasant outdoor covered seating area where you can sit to eat a fresh salad sandwich or roll. It's a quiet tucked away spot.

  • Amanda Hoffmann

Friendly service but a little on the expansive side compared to some other local bakeries. GLUTEN FREE There are some limited gluten free options. COFFEE Yummy coffee BREAD Soft and delicious CAKES | DONUTS | PASTERIES They are nice, but not the best I have ever tasted for the cost. PIES & HOT FOOD They are all satisfactory and hot STAFF Staff are who make this bakery what it is.

  • Junction Production

Ordered 2X almond croissants, they were soggy and wet, it was no pastry at all, looked like it was from the freezer and simply stuck in the oven in the morning, and even then it didn't thaw properly And on top of that, i still paid 15% surcharge on a public holiday and got 2 soggy croissants, lovely.... I didn't even bother going back to return the items, won't be there again

  • John Peoples

Absolutely outstanding product for the Indulgent BRIOCHE STYLE Hot Cross Buns. The best Hot Cross buns I have ever tasted. Great to see made in Australia and 74% of product sourced from Australia Taste is fantastic and does not give me indigestion like most Hot Cross Buns. Well done by Davies in Association with Aldi. Congratulations to you both on an excellent product.

  • Joel Walker

Awesome coffee and service but it would be great if you could revise your keep cup policy. Would be happy to take the cup to the barista so they don't even have to touch it (even though they hand over every take away by hand touching the lid with no gloves on ‍♂️). Surely there is a work around to be found thats stop 1000s of cups going to waste each year.

200% Satisfaction!! Yes, you can tell I am so satisfied ! But seriously, our neighbour recommended this local bakery to us, he recommended the pie and Almond Croissant, so far we've only tried Almond Croissant, and cream donut, they are addictive ly Yummy If you're local, make sure you visit ;)

  • Sue Tracy

Best ever- would give 7 stars if we could. Crazy good donuts, delicious sandwiches, light flaky spinach and feta danish-style pastry. Not consumed in that order! Also grabbed sourdough to take home and lemon curd pastry cups as a gift. Something for everyone - do yourself a favour ;-)

  • Jane

Live around the corner so I go here often just because it's close. It's pretty plain food and a bit overpriced for what you get. The coffee is always super bitter I think it's burnt? Could be the blend they use. Had a dirty chai today. Tasted a bit like medicine.

  • Caren Hoolsema

As an American, it has been very difficult to find proper cinnamon rolls/‘scrolls’ like we are used to back home, but this place does it on point. Everything else we have heard from the bakery it’s good as well including the coffee.

7 f#@king dollars 50 for a shity little ham sandwich, my jaw droped! Thats why she made me pay before it had finished heating... My mate had a pie for 5$ and it was "very average" better options for a good feed around that area!

  • Rebekah Higgs

Amazing, friendly bakery! Very welcoming! Super quick and efficient service! Great coffee, DELICIOUS food!! Sausage rolls are to die for! Outdoor seating - which is great for kids! THANK YOU Davies Bakery! We will be back!!

  • Paul Raynis

They have all the great stuff you'd expect from a fine bakery, but also harder-to-find stuff like actual, trad. dinner rolls. I made the trip over from Toowong, and am glad I did. (Photo from Davies Bakery Facebook page.)

  • Shosh Griffiths

The food looks very nice but its way too expensive. I did splash out on an overpriced almond croissant and sadly it was pretty much tasteless. The bread is way too expensive too. $4.80 for a sliced white is outrageous!!

  • Luke (Samoan Skywalker)

I always buy the donut's here in large quantities they are that good! Just bought the Ham Salad on a fire bun. OMG I had to drive back and buy another one. Salad is nice and fresh and the cheese & ham is great quality.

  • Danni Suriano

Really yummy food, their soy coffees and mocha coffees aren't the greatest and for a small bakery in the suburbs they're actually quite expensive so for that I dropped a star. Their rolls are soft and beautiful …

  • Dave

Good Pies and Sausage rolls! Happy with the Prices and quality. Don't listen to the 1star reviews! Have a look at their profile and you'll see they're typical serial complainers who are never happy with anything.

  • Faith

This hidden gem is hands down my favourite bakery in Brisbane! Their fresh cream donuts are to die for and their sourdough bread is perfection! Thank you Davie’s for your incredible baked goods. Just Phenomenal!

  • Daniel

I've been here a number if times, and genuinely feel its fairly average. Bakery products and selection never wow me. Some locals rate Davies much higher than me though so maybe my opinion is the exception.

  • Steph McKechnie

We visited on the weekend and had a delicious chicken and salad roll on tiger bread. The salad was SO fresh and the mayo was yummy. It was nice to get a salad roll that’s not overly wet. We’ll be back.

  • Tamyka Bell

You want to eat the caramel donut, the long john, the cinnamon scroll and the sourdough. Trust me on this. More importantly, the morning coffee is reliably good. Enjoy one after a jog in Toohey Forest.

  • Amanda Naismith

Had a long queue so we thought it must be really good. Service was friendly and fast but pastry and baked goods were overpriced and mediocre. Won't be going back and sorry to say I wouldn't recommend.

  • Julie Greaves

I’m a regular on a Saturday morning after my walk in nearby Toohey Forest. It’s the best coffee I have all week. They make amazing sourdough breads and a great range of other tempting bakery items.

  • Steve Benson

I visit this bakery regularly. The coffee & food are always great. Today I had the bacon & egg sourdough toasted sandwich. Ate it up the hill in the picnic area of the Toohey Forest. Really good.

  • Elvis Drummond

Woke up this morning, in the greatest mood ready for work went to Daveys bakery and ordered a hot chai latte and a croissant the chai latte was like water with no flavour took one sip and gaged

  • jayden Dalmacion

A light weight loaf of white bread was SUPER EXPENSIVE at $4.80 and was no better than the bread at Salisbury Bakery at $2.80, in fact it was very ordinary. Won't be buying bread there again

  • Timmy Hudson

I am a tow truck driver and I have been to many bakeries in my travels. I have to say out of the 20 bakery’s I’ve been to… this bakery is the best!!! I highly recommend Davies Bakery. More

  • Cathy Barnard

  • Sandra Bevan

What can I say. I love the salad rolls here. I try to stop myself from buying the delicious fattening items available. However, I did have a lemon and passionfruit tart. Sooo Good …

Was a 5 star. Just sold me a ham cheese tomato sandwich. $8.50. One single slice of tomato. On stale as bread.. Y'all drop the ball now. Rip off

Best Sausage Roll I've had all year. Very High recommend. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. And the seating is clean and very comfortable.

  • Stacey Tanoa

Ham tiger rolls are my favvvv! Best fresh cream donuts. Pricey but quality. My only flaw would be not enough cheese in pie. Theres hardly none.

  • vita

I'm on the road 5 days a week. Eating from anywhere on the go.They have the best chicken roll I ever had. I wish I bought 2 on that day …

  • Tamara Summen

Expensive for what it is. Pies are not great and nearly $7, donuts are the same price as elsewhere but half the size. Coffee is hit and miss.

  • greg gromono

Went there for coffee and something sweet. Did not disappoint. Will go back and try the bread at some stage. Staff were helpful and friendly

  • Mark Coster

Nice small bakery. Bread was great. Pies are good, but not cheap. Lots of pastries and sweets to try as well.
