Dru Point Bicentennial park is a great location to visit with family and friends. The park itself is completely fenced and there are many fun attractions in the playground for any year, young and old. The public toilets are clean and tidy and they are wheelchair friendly. It is a good place for a picnic or for a short rest while driving across Tasmania. Barbeque tables are available (upon booking) as well as a tennis court. There is also a really fun "road" and traffic signs racecourse for bikes and scooters. If you have some spare time or your kids need a place to burn down their energy then this is the place to visit.

Always fun times with my kids here and the recent changes by adding a flying fox makes it my daughters favourite place to go play and grab an ice cream after at the shop.
Playground
Lots of fun things for kids like slides, swings and a pirate ship.
Restrooms
Very basic toilet and one sink.
Dog-friendliness
Lots of people walk their dogs around the walk paths and even have a dog park next to the kids park.
Picnic area
Lots of room to set up a picnic next to the playground and you can also use the barbeques.

Great open park space that has heaps to offer perfect for families has heaps of entertainment for kids and has exercise equipment for people wanting to keep fit plenty of open grassy arias to kick the football or that game soccer . There is also plenty of BBQ locations scattered around for big or small groups . Parking won’t be a problem hear with several places to park . There is a kiosk hear that’s open Friday to Sunday and everyday on public holiday’s and school holiday’s and has a hot and cold food and also coffee .

Great hidden gem of a park in Margate with fantastic views of the surrounding bay. There is an extensive range of outdoor play equipment, along with a mini "road safety" park for the kids. There are also ample barbecue pavilions throughout the park Really great spot for birdwatchers too. One downside is that the resident masked lapwing plovers will lay their eggs everywhere in this park - saw a child stumble and fall into one of the nests, smashing the eggs and another getting swooped.

Great spot to have a day outing or a children's party. Positive/s: The Junior park is genuinely awesome, the 'kids roadway' for bikes and such is subpar but keeps kids entertained, and the food stall / canteen is really good however I find the park is best enjoyed when you bring your own lunch (may I recommend fish & chips from Bugsy's). Negative: The supposed 'Teens Playground' is immensely lackluster especially since the balance-swing-thing was removed around two (?) years ago.

Took my 11 kids and 11 dogs here, I forgot to take the kids home for a whole week because I was occupied with the dogs, but they didn't complain when I came to pick them back up, however, they reported a man, who looked to be about 70, wearing all black, tried to have forced intercourse with each and every one of them. It is a lovely park, and has great facilities, I would recommend taking your kids here, but remember to bring them home.

  • Marni Kaulima

A lovely place for a community or family gathering. Great fenced park for the younger kids and a seperate area for the older ones. Tennis court, bicycle/scooter "road skills" area for learners, free BBQs that are usually clean, picnic tables (a couple undercover), dog walking tracks nearby, fishing (if you're so inclined), boat ramp, plenty of car parking, basic public toilets, and (very occasionally), a kiosk open on-site.

As a family, we went to the kid's playground area. We had the best weather that Tassie could dish-up, so anywhere would have been fantastic. And this place was. Cool play equipment; for adults as well. Great bicycle pseudo-city streets for the wheeled toys (with working red-lights). And awesome views over the water. Capped off by a tuck-shop and fine-enough public toilets. Nice few hours for the family...

  • Lisa Habermann

A great walk around the point. A few side trips and seats to sit down along the way. Shallow paddling. A children's all access playground, a coffee shop and BBQ huts. Food truck on Sundays. A missing persons' memorial. A lovely place to slow down, sit and wonder, looking out to views and rivulets to distant hills. Bike and dog friendly with an off leash enclosure.

  • Jacob “Jaout” Zeppenfeld

It's amazing place for everyone (as long as you're not a vampire)! Play with kids? Yes, there's a playground. Acting like a kid again? Yes, there's a playground and it's open 24/7. Photographer looking for the nature and wildlife? Yes, there's plenty of that. A lovely stroll or bike ride? BIG yes. No matter what you do, you'll have a blast.

Dru Point is nice if you want to have a trip to Margate or a stop-over if your going down south, or having a picnic. The atmosphere is nice and relaxing and great for kids. I wasn’t sure if the traffic lights on the bike track worked but maybe that was the trick if the eye. The water does smell pretty bad if you go close to the waterfront.

  • Arthur pendragon

I was at the boat, I tripped over a pretend stone that is raised from service. I have injured myself. If they still persist I will be going to doctor and I will be contacting council. Other people have come up to me when it happened and said it has also happened to them and also their children. Other than that it was great

  • J R Murrell

A true gem... Took my family members of another generation...what a treat! Boys loved the traffic lights and have put in an order to mum and dad to take the bikes next time. Playground a good one...accommodates children's parties.... toilets nearby. Outside is a lovely reserve I've visited over many years!
