I recently gave a 5 star rating for the sales and service I received at the Dufresne store on Ellice. It was well deserved at that time. Since then I have have a not very pleasant experience with customer service. We purchased a power lift recliner chair for my father. When it was delivered, one of the screw in feet were missing. The delivery guy said he would report it , took a picture and left. Later that day I called and spoke to customer service. They said they would look in the warehouse and the truck and get back to me. Well they didn’t so I called again. Several days passed and I called again. They said in order for them to order the part I would have to give them the serial number off the chair. ? I told them it’s not at my house and I’d have to go all the way to my father’s apartment to get this. (It wasn’t written in the sales info sheet). Then was told that after I got that they would order me the part, have it sent to my place, then I call them to arrange service to have the part put on! (How long would I have to wait at his house for them to come?) All this running back and forth is very time consuming and interruptive to my already hectic days of going back and forth to the hospital to see my father!!!! I am not pleased with this situation at all. I just want a screw in foot for his chair so I can remove the folded up cardboard piece I put under it so he doesn’t wobble around while sitting!!! Why is this so complicated
I phoned about a 70 inch Samsung tv.. "Yes we have 4 in stock". I said I will be right down. Arrived about 20 minutes later. "I'm about a Samsung 70 inch tv." Girl states "Did you phone here"? My reply-"Yes about 20 minutes ago." I'm not sure if we have any."?? I said, "You have 4 in stock". Several places looking on the floor, with two staff, they finally located 3- one said "Sold" {after trying to sell me a 65 inch tv, at more$$. Girl then says,"I don't know if I can sell you any of these, as they might be spoken for".?? I stated "I will take this one." OH, you want to take it with you" "Yes. that is why, I'm here." We proceeded to move the tv, to the desk to pay for same.She then does the paper work and charges me $40.00 for a recycling fee??? Iask, What am I recycling"? These are not tires, I did not leave a tv there. I asked for the fee to be waived, to no avail. Asked again why the fee. answer-"It's for the box, or something." My driver had to get home, [he had the truck]. No reason for this. Found no other place with an answer for this, nor at Dufresne. I await your reply. T. Byers
Do not buy from these scammers! My appliance died only a year and a half after purchase. I paid 25% the value of the appliance on an extended warranty and they are refusing to honor it. The appliance does not turn on and is completely unusable and it has been that way for two months. The part needed to repair is on indefinite back order and they have the audacity to tell me just to wait if it ever comes in. The extended warranty is a scam and they are not to be trusted. I will need to purchase a new unit elsewhere out of pocket due to this. NEVER AGAIN. They sell appliances with cheap parts and know they will break (confirmed by technician) and they make money with the warranty because they have no plans to repair it. They will argue and say I need to wait for the part, but it's not acceptable if the part is on permanent backorder and I have no access to a working machine for months on end.
Tops customer service - from initial visit to delivery everything went very smoothly and staff were very professional and courteous, unlike other stores we visited. I highly recommend this store and particularly Ryan the Sales Rep that served us in-store - we was very thorough and patient! Returned here again this week (Aug 2022) with my daughter and son-in-law and was helped instore by Robin, another Customer Service professional, who gave great service again. We purchased a further mattress, box spring and pillows and we will be back again! Thank-you! Back again to buy a washer/dryer combo (01/24) - treated well by Allan Suchan in the sales team and did a fair deal. Delivery was at date/time promised but gave 4/5 as the delivery guys did not even plug in or connect hoses which I thought they were meant to as part of the package. Nonetheless they are installed now so not a big deal.
Really frustrating experience. Ordered a new kitchen appliance set, was told it would take about 10 days for the items to come into the warehouse. After not hearing anything for 3 weeks, I had to call them in order to learn that our fridge had been delayed by 3 months. No one had reached out to let us know about the availability change. More frustrations came with trying to arrange an installation for our dishwasher because I was given inconsistent information by different representatives on the phone. I was very clear throughout the process that I could not uninstall or install a dishwasher on my own and did not want a dishwasher sitting uninstalled in my kitchen, but that is exactly what happened because of the incorrect information given to me. Customer service has been really unhelpful every step of the way.
We first visited the store last February on the fence about purchasing some furniture and were instantly greeted by Michael the sales associate. We were looking into a couple of couches, accent chairs and a dining room table. Michael listened to our ideas and lead us to exactly what we were looking for. With expert knowledge he explained everything down from materials to stitching strength. This week Michael helped us pick out a bed frame and an amazing mattress.. again with top notch expertise. Incredible experiences on both occasions. We will be back. Thanks Sheldon and Carolyn
The worst experience I've ever had. Please buy furniture anywhere except here. If there are any problems, they will give you endless runarounds and denials, promise you the world and then later deny they said anything. They'll reassure you it'll be taken care of, then turn around and gaslight you by pretending this is the first time they're hearing of the issue and they have no idea what you're talking about. I'm literally going to throw this piece of junk out and buy one from another company, I've had all I can take with their back and forth lies
Salesperson’s Tammy at the Ellice location and Ami at the Nairn location were great to work with on the purchase of our new adjustable bed and frame. I highly recommend both of these ladies as they know their business and their customer service is extraordinaire! The delivery of the bed was complete within 5 days of purchase. Dylan and Matt were also extremely professional with the delivery and set-up of the bed frames and mattresses. Very pleased with the service from Dufresne.
Dufresne Ellice Ave. Ordered decorest couch and loveseat and received amazing service in store. Day before scheduled delivery email to us giving a time frame. Then on delivery day I was updated by a link and could see them coming closer to delivering. The delivery service was fast. Dylan and his helper took their shoes off at the door and had the furniture and legs sitting in my living room in no time. Very pleasant all around experience!
Service was second to none. We shopped around after getting our first quote, and found Dufresne to be very competitive and offered the best bang for our buck. We just got our queen size bed and mattress delivered, only to find out the bed needs a box spring. We specifically said we didn't want a bed with a box spring, which is why we bought the bed we did, only to find out from the delivery guys that this bed needs a box spring. We wouldn't have gone this route We have been waiting for the last 4 hours for a delivery of a box spring and we have nor gotten it as of 6:55pm
I had the pleasure of working with Maher at Dufrence, and I must say, she provided exceptional service. Her expertise in helping me choose the perfect mattress was truly impressive. I'm incredibly satisfied with my purchase, and I have no doubt that I'll be returning to Dufrence for future purchases. Maher's assistance made all the difference in my shopping experience!
Val and Joshua were both so helpful with the purchase of our sofa and arm chairs. We didn’t feel pressured and they both did everything in the power to ensure a speedy delivery at the best possible price. I wish they were our first stop, but after many furniture store visits- we found the perfect set for our home and family with Dufresne- and we couldn’t be happier.
Dufrense has an easy online payment system that worked perfectly. However, it took three tries to get them to send me the incoice via email. They do everything via phone number in the first two engagements and they got my number wrong until I phoned yesterday. Then things worked okay. Lesson learned - you have to take the initiative to get what you want.
DO NOT fool by their advertising how good the company is and take care of the customer because they are not. It has been a frustrated year keep receiving phone call from their warranty department telling us no replacing part to fix the actual problems yet they can't come up with any other solutions. Don't buy the extend warranty or trust their policy's.
They are the worst in winnipeg. While delivering sofa at my adress, their delivery guys damaged 2 walls of my apartment. Later the store refused to pay for the damage. They didn’t even replied to my emails. Their customer care representative are very rude and they don’t know how to talk to customers. Please avoid this place..
Excellent delivery service. However it was later than promised and I had difficulty scheduling it for today rather than next week. I was first told it was impossible for today because the truck was already full yet I was the first delivery and their were only 8 deliveries scheduled for and the truck was far from full.
Purchased a Maderla sectional from them online. The couch arrived with stitching coming off and scratches on it. Contacted customer service and Kyle Brause, the sales rep but have never heard back from them. What great service after they got your money. Never ever again will I make a purchase with them or with Ashley.
The entire Dufresne experience was amazing! Robyn, the sales associate, was an incredibly resourceful and friendly when showing us our options. The delivery team was equally as friendly and took great care bringing in the new couch and taking the old one out. As for the couch itself, we absolutely love it!

We paid to have a chest freezer delivered and the old upright freezer removed. Alex and the other delivery men were excellent. They were professional, careful, and helpful. Jenny let us know the progress of the delivery by letting us track the delivery people. Overall it was a good experience.
The sales people were very helpful and patient with me while I made up my mind on a tv stand. I did not feel pressured in any way. The sales people really seemed knowlegable about their products as well as home decor. I will definitely be going back for my next bigger purchase.

I have never seen a salesman fight so hard not to make a sale. Tip - don’t insult your customer and at least put an effort in to make a deal. Response to Dufresne - thanks, but no need. Got a better price for less hassle elsewhere.
