We recently built a house and dealt with many different suppliers over the past year. La-Z-Boy (on Ellice in Winnipeg) was the absolute best. When we arrived at the store for the first time, Mary Chen greeted us kindly and offered her help. She is a great salesperson, as she didn't hover and yet she always turned up again as soon as we had questions. She bounced on the couches to show us firmness, gave us heated massage chair treatments to show us how the specialty chairs worked, and even flipped a couch over like a superhero when I asked what the legs looked like underneath. She was extremely patient and helpful. We also felt very safe in the quiet, peaceful store during this time of covid restrictions. When we made our purchase, Mary gave us a good deal on a warranty. She told us the estimated delivery dates, and in the end they were exact. No pushed dates or unexpected waits. Even during a period when nearly everything else about our new house build was being canceled or severely delayed at the last minute, La-Z-Boy was extremely reliable. When our couches were delivered, we were informed beforehand by a very friendly and understanding delivery manager. The truck arrived right at the start of the 3 hour window on both occasions so we didn't have to wait around at all. The delivery men wore special shoes so they could slip them on and off easily when entering and they wouldn't track dirt on our nice new floors. They offered to put the floor protectors on the bottom of the couches, and when the metal was too cold for the pads to stick, the guys even stayed and warmed the metal up until they could. They also offered to stay and help me rearrange my new living room set in different ways until I was happy with it! I didn't make them stay for that but I was so touched that they would actually offer! One day shortly after our final delivery, Mary Chen called me. She said she was on her morning walk and thinking about us because she remembered we had our final delivery made that week. She just wanted to check in, make sure that we were happy with our products, and see if there was anything else we needed. We were very happy already, but Mary insisted we call back if ever anything should come up. Our products are amazing. Our living room set (sofa, love seat, and recliner) are the most comfortable things we've ever sat on. They're actually a little dangerous because I almost always fall asleep shortly after sitting because they are so soft and cozy! They work awesome and still look like brand new 7 months after receiving them. If you are considering buying from La-Z-Boy but aren't sure because of the steeper pricing, just know that it is well worth it for the quality of the furniture and for the fantastic customer service you receive. Compared to The Brick, which has given us horror stories to last a lifetime, I almost want to cry with relief at how smoothly everything went for us with La-Z-Boy. They do furniture business right. Thank you La-Z-Boy Winnipeg for the 10/10 customer experience.

Originally promised the product would be in within 2 weeks when we purchased it the third week of August. We had been debating between this sofa/loveseat combo and a competitor's similar product that was in stock. After we ordered and paid in full (and bought their $600 insurance package with pet rider), things went downhill. Checked in three weeks later and was told the sofa would be in at the end of September and the loveseat was now coming in November. I was told the sales person that we purchased from, would be in the next day and call me back. I called again the next day at 2pm and told that Bruce was with a customer but would call me back shortly. I called back at 4pm and was told Bruce had left for the day. I then asked to speak to the store manager (Carolyn). She offered to waive my $120 in delivery fees (the interest I would be paying before I got the product was higher than that since I had paid in full expecting a 2 week turnaround). She then noticed that Bruce had ordered the pieces in different colours. This changed my delivery dates to September for the sofa and January for the loveseat. The next day, she offered me $100 off each the loveseat and the sofa plus free delivery (totaling a 9% discount, not including the commission they would have made off the insurance upsell). She then admitted that the September sofa delivery wouldn't happen as the company hadn't even decided on a production date for the item and she had no idea when it would be delivered. She also admitted that Bruce had mischarged us on the insurance. The next day, I cancelled my order. They promised someone would call me back. I gave the manager my phone number. 5 1/2 hours later, I called back to find out what was happening. Apparently the financial person was calling me on a different number than that I had given. Way too many mistakes and a 9% discount after all of that was ridiculous considering most retail stores (excluding electronics, appliances, etc) operate on a 100% mark-up. La-Z-Boy is a manufacturer and wholesaler, meaning their mark-up is significantly higher than that. The excuse from Carolyn, the store manager, that her boss wouldn't allow her to make decisions on higher discounts is ridiculous considering the item wasn't even on sale when we purchased it. For the record, my interest payments on the product on my credit card would have almost totaled $200 before I received the January item. They have lost a sale, and they have lost a customer permanently.

This is the first time we have shopped for living room furniture at Lazyboy and it has been a great experience. Sylvia and Fran are not only helpful but truly take the time to understand your vision, needs and budget. Our furniture arrives in 6 months when we requested it. As we were shopping before we actually needed the furniture we were able to purchase the items on sale and it was a great saving. Although we don’t have the furniture yet I am very pleased with all the interactions we have had and feel very well taken care of. I have edited this review as we now have the furniture and I wanted to share our experience. I purchased the Midtown swivel gliding chair custom ordered in an off white leather. The chair arrived however it didn’t swivel. We found out the shipping bolts had not been removed by the delivery crew. We spoke with the store and they offered to send someone out but we took them off ourselves. The glider was working correctly however the chair was uncomfortable. It seemed to tilt towards the front floor and made you feel like you were going to slide off. I contacted Sylvia and she informed me that as my chair was custom ordered it was non refundable. They would send someone out to have a look at the chair and see if it could be adjusted. Tristan came out a few days later and discovered the chair base had not been put on properly at the manufacturer. He attached the base to the correct position and the chair no longer had the tilt issue. The chair is much better. I am happy with the Talbot Sofa, Soren Rocking Recliner and the Cascade Round Cocktail Table that we also purchased. The decrease in rating was due to the poor communication regarding fixing my issue from the sales department

We were primarily looking for dining room wooden chairs of good quality with a particular price point. Our sales person named Cathy Funk was very attentive but not overbearing and explained non-inventory items may take quite long for delivery or availability. This was helpful to avoid going through a long sales process and then in the end finding out that delivery was an issue. Very good sales process by Cathy. After we made our choice and availability for delivery was determined, we knew what we were were dealing with. As for price point, the chairs were initially well beyond our expectation and like buying a car, the dickering began. For me I accept this as part of the process but my wife doesn’t like the back a forth. If a retail outlet can offer a reduction in price at the end of the negotiation process, this is what she believes should be offered at the outset. I suppose this doesn’t allow for a sense of accomplishment by either the seller or buyer, so I get it. We did received a “discount” which we were satisfied with so all ended well. Due to the service provided by Cathy, we also ended up buying a lift top cocktail table which she reduced the price on by a similar percentage as the 8 chairs. Over all, very pleased with our purchase and our sales person. Now we wait patiently for delivery so we can enjoy.

A very positive and enjoyable experience! We are two hours away from the Winnipeg store. I initially called the store to inquire about a certain chair. Laura answered my call. She was very friendly and helpful she offered to send me pictures (from her personal phone) of what was available. She answered my questions and gave me lots to think about. In days and weeks to follow we kept in touch as there were more questions and we had to plan the trip to the store when Laura was working. But Laura offered to come into the store to meet with us even if it was day off!! Now that is customer service! When we finally arrived and met for the first time, it felt to me like we were old friends. We got right down to business, she knew exactly what we were wanting but was happy to show me other options too so I was confident with my choice. Very patient, Laura asked questions and listened to what we had to say. She made us feel very comfortable and it was a fun experience! Fran was also a tremendous help with the choosing of the fabric. She has a great eye! We will recommend to other family members and friends. Already thinking about our next purchase!

They have very nice things, good quality. The one of the best I have seen winnipeg so far where quality is concerned. The store is a little pricey but it's worth it. The reason I am giving them one star is because I bought a lot of things from them on my first visit. But the staff was not nice to us at all and I know it's because we are black. Everyone else were well attended to. We were just told to look around on our own, I guess no one expected us to actually buy something. Even after that there was this attitude. I like the furniture so we returned the second time. But again there is just an attitude which is very difficult to explain. I love their things but I am going to stay away as much as I can. It's not wise to shop where obviously you are not wanted. I know it's racism. ,

I am posting a review before I have my product..a leather recliner..so this review is based on the service so far. Our salesperson, Sylvia, was extremely knowledgable. She invested a lot of time to show us many options, listened to our requirements, and even priced out a few options so we could make the best decision about the getting the right product at the right price. Sylvia is one of the best salesperson that I have dealt with in a long time. The chair itself will take several months as it is a custom order..not sure if that is on par with other furniture retailers that customize..we were OK waiting but something to be aware if you need the product sooner! Overall a good start to our experience! I will update when I reveive the chair!

I did not like the sales rep. I had. She seemed in a rush and more worried about getting as many customers she could. She left me on my own and seek out another customer to help. She didn't give me any information on the chairs I was looking at or tell me if it was a good fit for me. After hearing another rep talking to her customer explaining the features and who it was a good fit or not, I was very disappointed I didn't get that kind of help. If there is a next time I will be sure that if I don't like the kind of help I am getting I will be asking for another. As for the chair I bought I haven't gotten it yet. So I do hope it will fit in with my other furniture. Also hoping it will turn out being what I wanted.

The sales staff were welcoming and knowledgeable. I was searching for a recliner and the associate helped me stay focused and concentrate on how each recliner felt on certain body areas (shoulders, lower back, etc.). They helped me pick the right chair for how my body wants to feel relaxed after a hard day. I was very pleased with the customer service experience. I can't say I was the biggest fan of the lead time before I receive my chair. It will be over two and a half months before I can pick it up in Winnipeg. For an in-stock item it seems like this is a long time to wait. Maybe Amazon has spoiled me as I've recieved bulky items (rowing machine) from them previously in about a week and a half.

We have been shopping and making furniture purchases at your store for the last 20+ years. Product quality, a particular sales staff (Pat), and customer service is what keeps us coming back. If we have ever had an issue with any item it has always been dealt with promptly and professionally. I always seek out your salesperson Pat. We have dealt with her for years. I tell her what I want and why and she points out the best products for our needs and within our budget. She makes us feel very comfortable. She has great product knowledge and offers practical and decorating advice (I need it :) I have always felt that the management and staff truly strive for complete customer satisfaction.

I was greeted immediately upon entering the store by Chris Kreutzer. He directed me to exactly what I was looking for. Even though he was attending to other customers he always checked back with me and answered all my questions and concerns. I was given all the time I needed to find the right recliner. I did leave to shop other stores. Not finding any store that had what I wanted I returned to Lazboy to purchase the recliner I wanted. Chris attended to me promptly and gave a deal I could not refuse. He also set me up with a loaner until they received my purchase. Thanks for the opportunity to comment on the service that I received from La-Z-Boy in Winnipeg on Ellice Avenue. The sales team as well as designers walked me through all options that addressed my home decorating needs. Cathy and Lee provided excellent customer service and went the extra mile to accommodate my time line to attain the products. In the end when making big purchases that will be with you for years to come it’s all about the quality and their products far exceed expectation from the sleek styles, design and manufacturing details. Will I go back? In a heartbeat, as I now know Cathy and Lee and will call ahead to inquire as we’ve established a relationship and trust.

We were very pleased with our sales gal Lorraine and designer Lee-Ellen and their assistance in helping us pick out our furniture. We are not at all satisfied with the after purchase service! I have emailed the service department 3 times regarding a large permanent swipe mark on the coffee table top which is of a concern as it shows up drastically when the light shines on it from the window. The service department has completely ignored me. We need more furniture to finish off the decorating and pulling the room together but we definitely won't be shopping at La-Z-Boy for that. My wife and I purchased $8,000.00 worth of furniture, just this past spring of 2016. We were very happy with Mary Chen, as our sales personnel. We also did the at home decor visit with Mary and Gale. Again, very happy with the suggestions given. Actually, very helpful! The furniture arrived about 2 weeks early. The delivery guys were excellent. Helpful and nice to deal with. We did have one minor flaw with our new arm chair. Rob, at the service centre had Tristan come out to look after the issue. All in all a very very positive experience. After seeing the type of furniture that was being sold through other stores, it wasn't difficult to choice Lazyboy!

I went into the store and immediately met this friendly welcoming representative or staff of the LA-Z-boy store. I told her what I was looking for and she took me to the area of a seeming endless number of recliners!! This is where my husband and I had bought recliners and enjoyed them immensely!! If one is looking for well built, sturdy and functional, reliable recliners one should always visit the LA-Z-Boy Store first!! On July 26th we went to the Ellice location to return a chair that didn't work for us and really look into the perfect chair going forward. We were approached by sales associate Laura who was very friendly and down to earth really taking interest in all our questions and concerns. And having an answer for all our questions. She wasn't the typical sales associate who was only after a sale. She took the time to explain all features and pricing on each chair and listened not just telling us what we think we need. We love lazy boy furniture but the shopping experience was less then desirable. We were told we were getting our insurance at a certain price then when we reviewed the bill we were charged full price. The “discounts” on the bill did not jive with what we were told. We also ordered a swivel base for our chair only to find out when we went to pick it up it was the wrong one. When we went back to get a refund it was like the salesperson didn’t even know who I was. The warehouse staff were awesome and very knowledgeable, so kudos to them.

I recently purchased a sofa at the Winnipeg location and was very pleased with the service. I was helped promptly and the sales person (Mary) was very knowledgeable about the available products. She was also helpful and patient, allowing me several days to find the perfect fabric combination for my room. The only reason I didn’t give it a five star is the very long wait time for my sofa (estimating 20 weeks for delivery). I recognize there are challenges with the pandemic, but 5 months seemed a bit long.

We went to your store back in Dec in preparation for our move in June but we uncertain of our timeline at that point in time. I went back the end of May and found the salesperson very helpful and knowledgeable. She knew her stuff and was able to assist me in making my purchase. We are a little disappointed that it is 8-10 weeks for delivery but such is life. I was grateful for Pat’s input and would rate our service 5/5. It was a very good experience. When we walked in the salesman showed us where to look in the store for what we were looking for and gave us some info to start. Then left and gave us some time to look around. He didn't hover, and wasn't pushy at all. He would come back to check on us and answer any questions. It was the perfect amount of attention. Designer staff (Cathy) worked patiently with us to choose the furniture that best fit our space and assisted us with many options to choose the right materials and colors to match our new flooring and planned decor. The CAD cam designer (Fran) drew up a floor plan according to the dimensions of our room to ensure the furniture we had chosen would fit in the space before we purchased. We went into Lazy Boy in Winnipeg, MB to purchase a new couch and love seat. We had a new employee Alexis Johnston assist us. She was great, very polite and patient with us. She always went to ask if she was unsure of something. We did have our heart set on leather but the cost was just too much out of our price range. I walked into the La-Z-Boy store on Ellice Avenue, Winnipeg. I was greeted by Chris. I found the sofa I wanted. I called Chris over to ask a couple of questions. He checked to see if the item I wanted was available. It was in stock and much to my surprise was priced lower than the advertised price. He was very helpful and knowledgeable. I purchased the couch and am looking forward to it being delivered on Friday. I would definitely shop here again.

Good store. Quality furniture to last a lifetime. Made in North America. We decided to buy 2 recliners with custom fabric and we will have to wait many months for it to be delivered. This delay is fine for us. A person could choose an in-stock item and have it immediately. Our salesman was kind and let us take our time to look at everything. He checked in on us to answer questions, but we did not feel crowded, rushed or pressured.

I purchased a La Z Boy sofa recliner almost a year ago I had to have more stuffing added twice so far due to the seating going flat Now the cable that operates the reclining mechanism has broke and it no longer reclines Don’t waste your money on a La Z Boy sofa! They are garbage! Will never buy another La Z Boy product ever again! Sadly in order to post I have to add a star otherwise there would be none!

My partner and I went to La-Z-Boy in 2019 to find a leather recliner. The salesman wasn't very friendly. Business must be good because he didn't even try to make a sale. We thought the prices were steep anyway. We had an expensive leather sofa and chair but we needed an additional recliner. Anyway, we were happy to find a recliner on sale for $700 at another store and the customer service was great.

I order a recliner rocker chair and love seat that also reclined and both are perfect. It took a while before I got them, but it was worth the wait. These are so comfortable, we went to La-z-boy and bought another chair. We now have a couch, love seat and three chairs. We love the comfort of this furniture and it is really good for our backs. Well worth the purchase especially on sale.

We went in looking to purchase two swivel rockers. The salesperson, Bruce Hedland was very knowledgeable, attentive and helpful. We had looked in a few other stores, but were happy with the service and choice La-Z-Boy provided. We went home and measured our space and phoned in our purchase. While our experience at the Ellice Avenue store was good, we are not happy with the finishing on our Canadel dining room suite. We have had Canadel before and I can say that it certainly doesn’t compare to what it used to be. After only two years of very careful use, the finish on both the table and chairs has chipped and marked. I would not buy this make again.

The price was good and instead of waiting 2 weeks for delivery he was able to find one in the city that could be delivered in a couple of days. We will continue to purchase our furniture at Lazy Boy and will request Chris as our sales representative.

Had a good experience here when I was looking for a recliner, I was asked if I needed help shortly after I entered. After I had browsed and comfort checked all the chairs I liked the salesperson helped direct me to all of the fabric and leather options and once I decided on the one I wanted it was a seamless process to go ahead with purchasing it.

Best place to buy a La-Z-Boy recliner, but the salesperson was a bit much. We bought 2 matching chairs and look forward to getting them. Product is great, but the sales experience was over the top. We are NOT extroverts. I almost had to say leave us alone. To sales people everywhere, pull it back a notch. We don't need you to be that extra.

Very good service and nice store. The reason I'm only giving a 3 star is because my leather lazy boy recliner is only 3 months old and is dis- clouring. They where really good about replacing it. To bad the leather is painted not dyed. Certainly brings the quality down.

Be careful, leather quality is hit and miss. Leather doesn’t last more than a few years maybe 5. No warranty on this. Colour is painted not dyed. Also sold there is bonded leather which wears even quicker.
