"This is one of the oldest train stations in the system and it looks like it"
"There is renovation work being done here, Rome was not built in a day, service isn't bad, I work all shifts, sometimes on Monday mornings after the weekend work, the trains are not on time, I'm a little leary coming to this station on Friday evenings to wait for the Shuttle bus, this is not the best area to be at 11:30 at nite; the street entrance is well lit, just like everywhere one has to be aware of their surroundings; during the day Dyre Avenue is bustling, there are some fast fiod places, a couple delis, a barbershop, a beauty salon, a hardware store right on the same block; the people in the booth are polite & informative, here again, where else can one ride from the top of the line all the way to Brooklyn for only $2"
"Not exactly wheelchair accessable, the workers use the same dirty water"
"They need to improve on the delays"
"An alright station that's currently undergoing a slow renovation"
This is one of the oldest train stations in the system and it looks like it. They have renovating/repairing the 5 train line as long as I can remember. The 5 barely runs if at all on the weekends, always due to construction, what the hell are they fixing is beyond me. The station is currently under "renovation" if that is what you want to call it. I hardly see any construction going on. So I see they put down heavy yellow painted plywood floors to cover up the possibly deteriorating concrete floors below??? As for 5 train service it runs well until there is a signal malfunction some where along the line (either at Dyre or E. 180th) and then your day is at a standstill or be like me and do that morning scramble trying to Uber to get to the nearest 2 train station or just go all the way into work in Manhattan. Many people in this area have cars but I feel bad for the people who depend on the 5 line to get to the rest of city.

Not exactly wheelchair accessable, the workers use the same dirty water. Buckets to mop the floors and they use that same mop on the seats amd thats IF they even clean. If people arent standing around the area smoking pot and hanging out around the store youve got hustlers pretending to be cab drivers ripping people off.the mta booth workers arent helpful, metro card machines frequently break and always say " no bills or single ride only" maybe some of us dont want to use a credit card to refill a metro card. they never wipe the railings on the stairs. Especially during 4pm rush its gross. They also seem to have a frequent delay problem.and dont even bother riding the 5 here on the weekends. Youll have to transfer to an overcrowded 2 train at 180 and sat nights the 5 operates as a shuttle only
They need to improve on the delays. It's causes people to be late for work, job interviews, doctor's appt and taking preschoolers to school etc. Please improve on the signals that causes these delays. More trains on this line. Not enough and needs to be working abd running on the weekends too.
An alright station that's currently undergoing a slow renovation. With increasing ridership the station needs more staircases to the mezzanine. Hopefully when the rebuild is done these issues will be fixed (along with ones other people talked about.) Train service is very spotty.
The 5 train is rather reliable, however the location & atmosphere in this train station make 5 train both disgusting and appalling. With all the money the MTA makes, can’t they try to hire people to clean the turnstiles and handrails atleast?!?
The station is under construction, but functional. That is not the problem, it's the #5 service, only reasonable during rush hours , then you have to give yourself an extra 30 minutes just to be close.
This station and the Mott ave terminal on the A train in Far Rockaway are the stations that are almost beyond the city limits of NYC. They are both built over a former railroad that the city bought.
They are spending a fortune updating station, is there going to be an elevator or escalator, many people like myself struggle everyday with the stairs. If rains the staircases flood it terrible.
They Been working on the service for so long I don't even know how long is it going to take to fix this Eastchester Road Dyer Avenue service
It has its moments. Sometimes in the morning at 149th street, it goes down the west side track which is disruptive to the morning commute.
If your planning to use train for work. Do not move and be reliant on the 5 train at dyer. It never runs on time. Metro take my advise
Shady train service, always gotta hustle to get to work... Been late quite a few times. Because of this line..
Es la última estación del tren 5 It is the last station of the train 5 …
They are improving so much on delays bravo!!! instead good service …
Station could use face lift. But the trains are on time in the morning.
This is the last stop on the 5 train no elevator at this point

Los fines de semana es pésimo. …
5 train baby! No lunatics on 5 line!

In desperate need of a face lift
