Not for people using a cane. My mother is handicapped, and the new branch is set up so it is about a hundred of steps to the door from the handicapped spot, and the place is built long and narrow, and you have to walk lengthwise, so it is a hundred of steps to the large print section, with a person on a cane it seemed the length of a football field. In the large print section the books on the top shelf are too high for her to see the titles, and difficult to reach for my mom at 5 feet tall. Take a wheelchair if you have mobility issues, it is about the same distance as a walk around the whole Safeway. Or go to Idylwylde branch instead.
City of Edmonton Public Library has variety of options available for every age for learning and leisure. Friendly staff available to provide assistance. My visitation was Capilano Library. This site is smaller, but still had what I was looking for. Together we found what I was looking for. I left with a huge smile as I could get a digital version as well as paper copy on hold that I will pick up, but there are transfers between branches too I could have at my disposal. In addition there are tech talk free session. Wow this was an amazing experience, and the resources will help me on my Nursing Career. Thank you Jacqueline Rosanne Chemy
I'm not sure why, but I love this library. Ill admit that it is a tad small for a library but offers a cozy place to relax while exploring books. It also has a ton of natural light which is a nice when your enjoying coffee and reading. It also has a nice kids section with building blocks, large legos, stools and mini kids couches. Another upside is the fireplace. Which makes it feel homey and serene. Book selection is actually surprising large considering the size of the library. I would definitely recommend this library if your looking for somewhere quiet with lots of natural light.
This place helps me a lot in many things..from movies books and ambience...it is new and so much to offer...it is walking distance from my place. You can have almost everything here free of charge. You can play with kids as well. Or simply just stay there. They have a couch that is so relaxing that are placed next to windows that has a view of surroundings because the library is surrounded by the glass the architectural design makes you feel better. Construction is made of glass wood and steel. The design is so elegant outside and cozy inside. Highly recommended.
This is a new location that is very cool. The design is forward thinking. The interior is warm and inviting with lots of comfortable seating. The library is clean and well lit. It’s a satellite location so not a large location but that’s fine because if you don’t find what you are looking for you can easily order online. There is a kids play area and other community services available here. Just a really nice location.
This is my first visit at Capilano library and it was really nice. Peaceful and loved the environment. I had mini DVC cassettes and they have digital conversion set up which helped me to convert all my 15 cassettes for free. I am really happy with the service librarian provided, she was really helpful setting up station. Thank you …
What a beautiful library! A bit hard to find when you take the 4 Capilano from the University and get off the bus at Capilano Mall, then let Google Maps lead you on a runaround! But otherwise, worth seeing an experiencing! Take the 1B bus from Downtown to Capilano instead, and get off before it reaches Capilano Mall. Enjoy!
I've always been drawn to libraries, and I really like this one. Not just because it's walking distance from where I live, but the fact that the staff are friendly as well as very knowledgeable and helpful. It's usually a fairly quiet place to go to do some reading and studying.
Good Library, even though it is smaller the online search and hold system makes the available catalogue huge. I like to place a hold online and have it sent here as it is convenient. Now a new library close to the old one, very nice decor. Good parking.
Library is supposed to be a quiet place for people who want to study or read but there’s this lady and lad who kept talking to each other as if they are just in the park. They both work here. We don’t mind them talking, it’s just too loud.
Bathroom is not safe for women to use. Dont go here. Staff expected my young kids to use the same bathroom as grown men. I was scoffed at when i as a protective mother asked if there was another one we could use. This is insanity.
No safe bathroom for my daughters. There is no safe bathroom for women its just one large unisex washroom. It was shocking and disturbing. Went into the washroom and saw a man. I turned around, grabbed girls and left the library
Lovely quiet library. The staff was so kind and helpful, there's a lot to check out and access here. It's also really wonderful to see a unisex washroom! Progressive and thoughtful. I will keep visiting this library.
I will not be going back with my children because there is only a unisex washroom. That is absolutely disturbing and wrong. Also, the bathroom stalls are like cement boxes. They make you feel trapped.
Nice lighting, Longer is quieter, the quiet room is extra quiet the parking lot is a joke minus its electric car plugs but over all the staff create an excellent environment as they always have..
My favorite place - took 2 winters and finally managed to visit every library in our city. The staff amazes me - so knowledgeable, helpful, friendly and so very patient.
No safe bathroom for my daughters. My wife and daughters are expected to share a bathroom with grown men!!! I was shocked. We will not be back to this library.
Edmonton's library system is fantastic. If material isn't at the branch, it's easy to place a hold. The staff have always been helpful and courteous.
Went there to vote. Looks good. Fair number of computers and dvds . Was only a few there who were not in line to vote on a Friday noontime .
The staff are always so friendly & kind. They told me about the YA book club which has led me to new books & new friends :)
Nice cozy and small library. Super quiet and has its very own study room! The staff are also super kind and welcoming.
This is my best place to read and relaxing. Kids can have fun day reading and playing. Quite place. Beautiful view
Staff was rude, loud, and young girls are expected to share bathroom with grown men. Not okay. Be better.
Very small library, very limited material, and next to no video/audio material. Although nice and quiet.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable place to relax and enjoy reading, information and research!
Nice library with good facilities, unique architecture and interiors. Very helpful and friendly staff.

The library seems great but the staff member was very rude and patronizing.
