This is unhappy report, but we still put 5 stars for the library. Riverbend library is the most close library to our house, we came here always with pleasure, get warmly welcome and help, and the library organized with expertise, for example we can easily find the reading book for easy read level. But today, we had an unpleasant experience. We arrived the library for returning one X-box game which was our first time to return a game, my husband very care about to do the correct things, so he asked to one librarian, should he return the game separately, because when he borrowed it, he got the CD box first and then got the CD later. All of us think the question was reasonable, but, the librarian keep repeating one sentence “what do you mean separately?” The even rude thing was, my husband cannot finish his words for explaining and was interrupted by”what do you mean separately!”, again and again. To be honest, both of us are not good in English, I think that is our responsibility, and we need improve with our efforts. And I will do. However we don’t think the behavior for that librarian today was properly, finally, we gave up, due to we can clearly find the librarian without listening. We still love the library.
Not my favorite library to Go to in the City, but definitely not the worst one. I've had no problems from staff . Forgot my headphones the one day, and they kept it for me to pick up the days after. I wish some people there were more mindful of those studying, reading or doing their own thing in the quieter section, but it's a nice location. Only downside is the parking. It's so limited around there so count on luck to get a parking spot. The earlier in he day you can go, or early evenings, the better. Nice library overall though.
This is a really good library! It has an abundance of books, an entire shelf of video games! And even a study area. I have seen people say parking is hard to find but it’s really easy. The only thing holding me back from putting a 5 star review is the noise. Sometimes it gets loud from the little kids running around but then the noise level comes back to normal (quiet). But still definitely a really good library!
Staff are very loud with their conversations by the door that I heard them in the quiet study area. Kids are unsupervised running around and yelling. Some kids were fighting in the kids zone and throwing bins around, yet no one approached them from the staff. Staff are too busy socializing too. Very difficult to read or study. The library is convenient and a perfect size, unfortunately it’s used as a playground!
Very busy location. They have a great kids area with both separate computers and a play area for the kids. There is also numerous computer workstations for everyone else. There is also a great community room for holding neighborhood events and classes. The common areas can get quite loud since it is all open concept. The parking lot is busy too. Watch out for cars criss crossing the lot.
This small library is a real gem. With the brilliant Rowdy Robot program and loads of other fun activities, it's packed with excitement. It doesn't stop there, though - books galore are ready and waiting. The RSVP and checkout systems are a breeze, making it super easy to borrow your next favorite read. I can't wait to see what they have planned for summer. Small but mighty, indeed!
Ironically, the librarians here love to speak extremely loudly with patrons and each other, for extended periods. They also allow children to scream, yell, and screech, as well as run around and be extremely disruptful and disrespectful, without saying one word to the parents. It's been almost two hours. This is ridiculous.
I love this library!! The books are neatly sorted, and the staff are really nice. There's also a nice section in the back with comfy sofas. My only problem is that there aren't a wide selection of fiction books that I enjoy, but tons of amazing non-fiction books.
Great library and the people there are always helpful. The library was good during covid, and you can reserve books online and pick them up. You also get access to audio books, music, video games, e-books, etc. I don't know why anyone would ever buy a book.
Love this library. Staff very helpful. Even though it is smaller than Whitemud Crossing, we loved that it was not as crowded, the children's area is book focused rather than tech focused and the selection was perfect. My children were very happy.
Staff at Reception is selective in saying, "Hello," to or welcoming patrons entering the Edmonton Public Library (EPL) in Riverbend on the southside of the city based on my experience. I noticed the Staff at Reception readily said, "Hello"
Really good location. Really happy and friendly staff, always there to help you. Very well organized as well. I love how they connect with the community by posting different selections of art. The study area is decently spacious and tables
Love love love the Library!! EPL has such an amazing system and a even better staff! The Library is my favorite! The access to books, DVD, CD, and online resources is truly spectacular, and sometimes unbelievable. Through the Edmonton
Riverbend Branch is way more enjoyable these days since it is not as busy as it used to be due to program cancellations. They limit time on the computers to one hour and have removed every second computer keyboard to allow for social
Great location! Small, but it works. Love the free programs they put on for kids. Only part that is a pain is the lack of parking. I always have to haul my baby across the parking lot which isnt ideal in the winter.
Very lovely staff. Always helpful. I wish the (study area) space were bigger and better separated from the general library area so there would be less distractions. In all, nice place.
Fantastic library. Friendly staff, lots of books, a children's section, it's all a person could ask for in their local community. However, parking is hard to come by.
Sing, Sign, Laugh, & Learn is a huge hit with our kid. Excellent staff and obviously as a part of EPL the selection of books, audiobooks, films, etc is excellent.
I go here every couple of weeks for books super nice place every time
THere is lots of books here and its cool
