*** important information - Enterprise are Not contactless enabled *** This is my second experience of using Enterprise, and the first at this branch. Upon arrival on a (late) Friday afternoon I was met by Iqra who I met at their Romford branch on my first rental with Enterprise. Surprisingly she recognised myself, and although she and the rest of the team were extremely busy, too the time to go through the paperwork, verify my driving license and walk me around the car. It was at this point I was reminded Enterprise are Not contactless enabled, so had to walk home and back to present my physical card… as I had arrived late due to work commitments, I did not arrive back at the depot till just after 6PM which Iqra had agreed would be okay as she and the team would be working late due to the workload. Upon arriving back, Iqra had set the cars a/c on so the interior was cooled on a hot day; nice touch! I only required the car for a short period, and returned the car on Sunday AM, but took a detour to buy a box of Cadbury Celebration's as an apology for my late Friday collection arrival. Upon returning the car on Sunday I was met by Gabriel and similar to Friday, it was very, very busy. Once again, Gabriel too the time to walk me around the car to check for damage and mileage; found no issues so was on my way within 5 minutes of shaking Gabriel’s hand. Customer service: 5* - Great service, professional and personable. Cleanliness of office: 5* - clean and presentable. Cleanliness of vehicle: 5* - interior and exterior were clean and presentable. Collection process: 5* - professional procedures applied by positive and engaging staff. Drop-off process: 5* - professional procedures applied by positive and engaging staff. In summary. I have to use a vehicle outside of an Uber from time to time and will always use Enterprise due to the feeing of they care about me. On the 2 occasions I have hired a car from Enterprise I have experienced no issues and received exemplary customer service. Hope the team enjoyed the chocolates…

Absolute shambles from the get go. My car had to go in for repair, so got a courtesy car through Enterprise. Authorised for a Category D car so something of a Focus/Golf size which is great as current car is a Golf so wife used to driving it. Advised that on day of collection we had a family funeral so we would collect at end of day. Called around 3.30 on day of collection to be told that we was meant to collect at 10am (no one told me or agreed this) then told that the car was a Mistubushi Outlander far bigger than what our car is, but apparently this was doing us a favour. Refused the car as it was too big, plus filthy. They advised that a Golf was due back and would bring to us early afternoon the next day. Again had to call them for an update again at 3.10pm to be told car is 2k miles overdue on its service so had to wait for it to be serviced then it will be delivered. Car comes, and to my shock, in the current climate around cleanliness and hard surfaces etc, the car was delivered with all hand prints and finger marks on the rear internal windows, obviously where children have wiped it down the glass. How on earth is that acceptable, it wouldn't be acceptable in normal circumstances let alone during Covid 19. It's embarrassing for Enterprise and a total piss take. So given this, how could I trust that the rest of the car had been dissenfected, so spent the next 30 mins going over the surfaces of the interior to ensure it was clean. Can't wait to get my car back! Update: Had a call from Anu the area manager who was quiet frankly what you would want from the get go, honest, fed no rubbish, called it how it was and owned the mess and has dealt with it, by going above and beyond to ensure we were left satisfied to some degree, all under no pressure from myself to do so. At the end of the day this was not about the car or what badge it was, would have been happy with a Clean Fiesta or Focus etc, this was about level of service and cleanliness given the current situation. I waited for more than 6 weeks for my issue to be sorted, but no luck… Now, I am writing my review. I had very good experience with Enterprise when I rented cars during my travels in the US, but I had the worst service ever when I rented a van from Enterprise Harold Wood office for my house move. As a result of unsatisfactory service (details below), they promised to refund my money on 24th Sep. I still haven’t received it. I talked to different people on the phone more than 10 times in total. I emailed both UK and US customer support teams, but no luck. Details: On 8th Sep, I booked a “Vauxhall Vivaro 5.9m³~ or similar” van to be collected at 10:30am on 23rd Sep. On 22nd Sep, someone called Omar called me and offered a larger van to be collected at 1pm instead of 10.30am. I accepted. On 23rd Sep, I went to Harold Wood office to collect the larger van at 1pm. The van wasn’t there. A lady called Nikki first offered me a small van even smaller than the van I originally booked. I refused. She then offered me a Luton van which they offered to deliver to my house at 2.30pm. I accepted. The van didn’t arrive. Nobody called me to give me an update. I called them at 2.30pm. They said they can’t reach the person who rented the Luton van before me. They said they will give me an update soon. They called at 3.50pm and offered the original van I booked incl. insurance with no charge. I refused as that was not enough to compensate the 6.5 hours waiting time for me and the people who will help me with the house move. I asked for the refund of booking fee which Nikki accepted on the phone. They didn’t even deliver the van. I had to go to the office and pick it up at 4.35pm. It didn’t even have a proper key. It was broken and they had to tape the key to make it work. I had to accept it in that condition as that day was the last day in my current flat and I had to urgently move my stuff. I went to bed at 3am that night.

*No Star Rating* Only used this car company due to my Insurance Company (LV) using them for courtesy cars. They sent an email advising me of a drop off vehicle, car didn't arrive, chased them and advised no booking, yet I have an email confirming. They couldn't get a car to me for at least another 24 + hours so I had to get a cab to their branch and pick one up so I could go to work. Picked up the car, and drove to work. Warning lights were on the dashboard. Got to work read manual and cleared warning lights (Oil Change, Service Due and Low Tyre pressure) then had to drive to a garage and put air in the tyres. There was also something on the rear parcel shelf, which on inspection was a pair of shorts, assume left behind by the previous customer. The car was muddy, and had pet hair all over the seats which i also had to hoover out. The lease term got extended by my insurance company, had calls from the (Harold Wood) branch who didn't seem to realise I already had the car, as asking me when to collect. Then had 2 phone calls asking about their service, clearly no one made notes on the system as I told everyone I spoke to of my dissatisfaction with their service. Finally the lease came to the end. They called and asked why i hadn't dropped the car off, I told them it was sitting at home waiting to be collected, I was not dropping it off. It was collected in a better state than it was given to me and with airs in the tyres. Had a phone call off of the manager advising the car was returned and thanking me for using them, clearly no note reading again, went through my complaint and the dreadful service. She acknowledged my complaint and apologised for the terrible service. First decent person I dealt with. Will never personally use this company, and would never recommend it to anyone. I would request a different rental company if I ever needed to go through my insurance again.

WORST customer service I have ever received with a car rental company! We went to collect a van that we needed as an emergency for work this Monday at 5pm. We had to wait 1 hour as is wasn't back from the previous customer yet. This is fair enough, can happen and I wouldn't mention it if there woulnd't be anything else. We were given a much bigger van that was unpractical for us as you cannot park it anywhere. This was swapped for a smaller van the same evening. The van was originally reneted until this Wednesday but be needed to extend it and could do this easyly in the morning of the same day. Today I needed ti extend it again as our company van hasn't been repaired as planned yet and was told by customer services and on a second call my the branch manager at Enterpris Rent-A-Car Harold Wood that they don't have the possibility to extend on the same day and that the van is rented out from this evening so someone else which is strange as we are returning it at 5.30pm and the branch is closing as 6pm? I suppose the next customer will have the same performance picking up the van tonight? This is the first time I hear that you cannot extend on the same day having used Enterprise previously but surely for the last time. It would have been much easier to be told, sorry the van is already reserved and we have a high demand on vans for this weekend. Anyone would understand this, Instead of this I have been told starnge excused and nobody was happy to help with anything else, for example phone up another branch to see if they have availibility there. I wouldn't recommend this branch to anyone as it unrelyable, unprofessional and the people I spoke to are not bothered to provide good customer service.

AVOID! SHOULD BE NO STARS: I was asked to wait till dark at their location, told they were cleaning the car and received it wet. I was referred by Care by Volvo. They didn't pick me up, so I had to take an Uber. Then when highlighting a scratch between the driver side and passenger doors told that I was not going to be charged for this. Once I got home noticed that those scratches where bigger and took pictures and shared over email as the branch was closed. Didn't get a response, so I called the next day. The option 4 was never reachable so I tried others and was many time hang up on. When I managed to talk to a employee they always repeated that it was ok and I would not be charged. It was a mistake. I recorded the call. When I returned the car I was asked to pay for the scratches. I kept calling the location and was constantly told they would look into this and fix it. In the meantime I was getting harassed by Enterprise on letter about the dept and threatened to sell my dept with dept collectors. I ended up paying the charge and raised a claim with Enterprise. I shared all my emails, recordings and letters and they decided there was nothing wrong. Not only was this location all into this scheme, but Enterprise is also in on it. Just look at the 1 stars and you can see a pattern of insurance claims. I have now raised this with the BVRLA. AVOID THEM. They are just scammers worried about their bottom line. Disgusting!

If I could give no stars, I would. I've had three rentals (should have walked away after the first). First rental - fuel tank not full - Lazy. Second rental - car was filty, inside and out - lazy. Third rental didn't happen because they had no car. I accept I did arrive late as there was no trains running due to an incident on the Elizabeth Line. But the lazy staff member didn't care, said they had no cars available, shrug shoulders. Suggested I come back in 3 hours and see if anything is returned (they should know that by checking the system!). I noticed that they have an 'inspirational' motto for staff on the key cabinet door which says...'Go the Extra'. It's just words, because staff here do not care one iota about customers. This shambles is not recommended. There are far better car hire firms not far away, so why waste your time with this lot.

Today I needed a rental car promptly. After booking one over the phone I was then contacted half an hour later by the branch in Harold Wood and advised by Emma that they did not have a car available for me. When I posed the question as to why there had been such an appalling lack of communication between two parts of the same company I was greeted with apathy and nonchalance from Emma who proceeded to talk over me and interrupt me at every opportunity. I made a complaint to head office and was told that the area manager would call me and even they couldn't be bothered. I went elsewhere and received excellent service. I would avoid Enterprise Rent A Car like the plague as a result of this shocking service. Emma also needs to be placed on a communication and rapport building course as she has negligible empathy for customers.

Just picked up a hire car. The member of staff who assisted me was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. There was no queue and I was seen immediately. The total time that it took to hire the car was no more than ten minutes. There were at least six staff sitting behind the counter and I was the only customer. In respect of the car, it was a modern Mercedes (2020) E class, reasonable condition and it's nice to drive. I recommend Enterprise, they have a good selection of cars, the staff are helpful and the location is convenient (it was for me!). This branch of Enterprise is located on the A127, Southend Arterial Road close to the Ardleigh Green Road traffic lights. Harold Wood Train Station (Elizabeth line) is ten minutes walk away and the nearest bus stop is also at Ardleigh Green Road, route 256.

Returned a car on Monday afternoon. The car was inspected and I was told all was good the £200 would be refunded and I can leave. I then find additional charges on my card from Enterprise. On calling them they supposedly found scratches on the car after I had left and after their inspection and said I had to be charged. I challenged them and they came up with the excuse that I was in a hurry to leave and they hadn’t inspected the car and found the dent after I had gone. Please. Don’t trust this lot and if you do deal with them. Video everything including any conversations with them. They can’t be trusted. They then send a message with concern asking me to write to them, which I did. Never even got a reply. Nice to your face. Stab you in the back

Whilst Taiwo was extremely helpful and assisted me well and I thank him for his assistance, the return of the hire vehicle was not straight forward. This was not processed by Taiwo. Fuel deposit not returned to me. Called into the branch on Saturday as it was closing to be told you have to wait up to 7 days. Today I call the branch to be told that there was an error made and it will now be resolved. Who ever I spoke to at Enterprise could not tell me how long the refund of the fuel deposit would take other than she could not control it. If your colleague had bothered to look at the job this could have been resolved on Saturday. Service to a customer since the exceptional service of Taiwo has been poor hence the two star review

had the vehicle for a months as my van was in for a warranty job at Renault London, gave the van back cleaned just a respectful way of what any normal person would do. Few days later notice that £191 was taken out my card, when calling them they said it was due to a nail in the tyre charged at £150 and rest was for fuel. I accept I had it on a quarter of a tank and it was empty but surely £10 would take it to a quarter mark. not £30. Who checks the tyres for nails and if the car was given to me and sat in one place how can one see the nail where the tyre is touching the tarmac. I have asked for the tyre to be returned back to me to inspect yet not had a call back from the area manager nor the branch manager.

Wonderful enterprise rent a car, I’ve rented from here many times, great service as usual and the staff are very nice and friendly. Great team So I booked a Astra/focus size vehicle which wasn’t available so got a free upgrade to this brand new vauxhall grandland X. The car was spacious and very well spec’d, leather heated seats, heated steering wheel, lane assist, Apple car play, pan roof etc but the only downside of this vehicle was it was unleaded and the fuel economy was quite poor, other than that it’s a decent car. I was seen by Lee who served me very professionally, got that 10/10 service. Definitely will be looking to hire from this branch in the future. ☺️

Absolutely avoid. Placed an order for a Van on the Saturday evening to be used for 3 hours on Sunday, website registers you through, takes the money from your card, you get a lovely email saying your reservation is confirmed, you can even get your ready pass completed so you don't have to wait around the next day. Next day comes round, get a call 10 minutes before the van was to be picked up saying it's not possible, that they don't have a van on site. Absolutely terrible customer service and completely let down 10 minutes before due to pick up (with all other arrangements underway waiting for the van). Avoid.

I was their customer for +/- 3 years, I sometimes need bigger car to travel with family or pickup family from airport that needs a car with extra luggage space. I needed a car 30th December 2019, and was interrogated about what I do for a living, rudely, I may add. I thought that was odd, found their guidelines on enterprise website, no mention of it as a requirement whatsoever. Cancelled the booking, paid £40. Went to their competitor, easy booking, no phone calls, no interrogative questions, no odd questions. file a complaint with via Enterprise website, no response, hence this review.

My personal car was playing up, and I didn't want to chance using it travelling to my wedding. Originally hired a car from Europcar, but one day before my hire date they cancelled it. I ended up using Enterprise, who had a Ford Focus (late hire and all), so I thought okay let's go for it. Kane was the rep who helped me on the day. He was so helpful and managed to get me an upgrade to an 2018 'A' class Merc, with less than 1000 miles on the clock. Totally recommend these guys. If fact, went back there 2 weeks later with my father and hired a van from them them for the day.

It was my first time using Enterprise, and they were brilliant! 2020 has not been the year for me with my car and car dealerships, that I had lost faith with anything, and anyone involving myself with cars. However, the team at the Harold Wood branch made me feel reassured and comfortable. Whilst my own car was taken away to be fixed, Enterprise provide me with two cars as my car took longer than expected. Both cars were handed over to me clean and in good condition. I honestly cannot fault them.

I recently rented a Van over the weekend and honestly cannot fault the service, despite how busy they were the staff at this branch did not make you feel less valued. I saw they're branch manager go over and above to help another customer. I've been renting van's from Enterprise for the past few years at a number of branches and although they're service has always been pleasant, the staff at the Harlod Wood branch over the weekend were exceptional. Used enterprise for my courtesy car following an accident. from start to finish the company where helpful and kind. Had the pleasure of being driven home by Gideon after I returned the car, he was a brilliant face for the company. Kind, helpful, chatty and kept me informed of what was happening as the office was very busy. It can be daunting dealing with big firms like Enterprise, like youre waiting to get fleeced. However, my experience of this branch was extremely positive. After an initial mix up (no fault of the branch), Arif was prompt and professional in rectifying the matter. Good van supplied and no problems getting up a d down the A1. Other members of the team were professional and courteous, a credit to themselves and the team ethos they seem to have there. Well done.

On 2 separate occasions I get a call the evening before saying my vehicle will not be ready for the time I booked in the morning. On both occasions I'm told the previous customer is late returning the vehicle. The staff made no effort to accommodate me on the day, offer me alternatives when similar vehicles seemed available. Was just told to wait and nothing they could do. I was about to hire vans from there regularly but went elsewhere and glad I did.

EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE. From Start to Finish Louise Nicola Omar. Nicola was fast and efficient at verifying my documentation and answered all the questions i had. Louise has great hospitality skills she gave me 2 bottles of water for my journey because it was so hot on 19 July. Omar explained the policy and customer liability information very well. The team made me feel very welcome and Il defiently be using them again for my next hire vehicle

Had the pleasure dealing with Matt today, after calling Mawney Road for the past 24 hours and no one answering the phone I eventually called Harold Wood enquiring if the shop had closed whilst I was using a car rental from them and had explained that I would like to extend my rental but no communication from the office. So, having been messed about royally by insurers and expecting to be messed about by Enterprise, I was amazed that they did what they said they would do, when they said they would do it and delivering the car they said I would get. In this day and age that just doesn’t happen and hence my bothering to leave a review. Incidentally the guy who dealt with me in the camel coloured overcoat whose name I didn’t get was absolutely on his A game.

After someone crashing into our car during the later stages of my partners pregnancy, we were advised to contact Enterprise in Harold Wood for our courtesy car. Nageebullah was very helpful and although we were advised we would need to wait a couple of days, he managed to get us a like for like replacement later the same day. A very good service and professional communication from beginning to end. Would definitely recommend.

Check the vehicle before you drive off. They had the cheek to charge me £159 for a nail in the tyres. How likely was this nail already in the tyre before I got it. I would advice all to check the vehicle with a fine comb these rats will pin anything on you. Easy money I guess. I even asked to see the invoice of the tyre which was purchased and the old tyre to be returned back to me and they refused. What a bunch of **** *****

Bunch of light fingered chancers. Left my phone in the car when I dropped it off, realised and went back 20 minutes later. Apparently the car had been cleaned and re-rented in that time. They didn’t have any way of contacting the customer with the car and it wasn’t due back for a week. They said they didn’t see the phone next to the handbrake. I called it, it was off. Avoid if you don’t like dealing with crooks.

This is the second time I have used them. They never give me the right car or they never have the right car. Last time I asked for a Volvo xc90 and got an awful land cruiser. I had to change it to a smaller car after a week because they couldn't get hold of an XC 90. This time I got the ford transit van instead of a seat Alhambra mpv. Last time I use them. There are other rental agencies around! Like SiXt

They have one price on the site but they charge you more after you rent a car.I talked with Lee they are taking the piss..Its not professional what they do.Guys dont use this Company.The price is getting higher every week. Excellent customer service. Staff are very helpful, friendly and regularly keep you updated about your query. They also sorted out my request without any problem, even if it was a last minute request. Vehicles are clean, new and without fault. Overall very satisfied with their service and the Romford branch is full of good people. Keep it up guys!

I had to collect a courtesy car at very short notice, courtesy of the AA due to a problem with my car. I was quickly helped by Lauren who was brilliant in arranging a car in no time at all. She went through the arrangements thoroughly and was so polite, professional and empathetic. I was very pleased with the service I received.

Good customer experience with plenty of follow up calls to ensure I was happy. Great service from Sampson and the chap who dealt with me on Sunday whose name escapes me, something along the lines of Tiv. Sorry mate, if my memory was as good as your service I would be fine.

Some of the information was not clear, at collection of vehicle I was told that fuel was already charged, only to get the shock of my day when fuel was deducted from my deposit. Dealing with different people is a bit of a problem as information differs.
