What's to say, it's a Subway station, it's hot, it smells. All that being said you can catch a train here that will ( with transfers) get you to just about anywhere in New York and the lower 48. This place is decently clean as compared to some others I've been in, it's definitely well protected with police officers all over the place, when something like a terrorist attack happens just about anywhere in the world, you will see police dressed in full combat gear with automatic weapons at the ready, so I personally feel very safe especially traveling late at night thanks to the men and women of the NYPD.

This is definitely one if queens main train stations.not only for the E train M ,R & f trains ,you have midway movie theater right upstairs, you also have busy Austin street, one of queens nyc best shopping and restaurants streets ,that is located a block away. Plus you have queens blvd right upstairs. With everything from restaurant to pharmacy, super markets as well. The station itself is okay there is no escalators or elevators. And the station is some what clean. The E train runs Express the F takes you local.

It is a mess when try to commute back home and the E train stops on 71st. Get everyone out of the train and 10 min later everyone have to get back because there are no other trains coming, can anybody explains why is that? Why they in other days stop on 71st, empty the whole train for the customers to wait for next E packed train to get even worse to go to the destination. The F train is always delayed also, alwaysssss, it is a complete disrespectful mess.

This station is close to the southern terminus of the M train at Middle Village - Metropolitan Avenue. V trains terminates at this station from 12-16-01 to 6-25-10 when it was replaced by the M train. G trains also terminates at this station, but it was cut back to Court Square. Also a switch nearby which serves by the F train at all times and the E train on weekends.

The Forest Hills station has improved drastically over the years. It's a station that 4 major trains in Queens stop at and has countdown clocks and the machine that gives u directions and maps. The last stop for the local M & R trains and serves the E & F as an express stop. Usually gets crowded during rush hour because of the amount of destinations that you can reach.

Mta isnt the greatest at transit NYC knows this but dose the MTA management knows this station causes some most delays because of the trains parked during the nights of the R TRAIN SWITHING TRACKS seems asif the dispatcher dosnt doo the job as it should .TRAINS ARES STOPED BEFORE ARRIVING WAITS IN TUNNELS FOR ABOUT 5 MIN BEFORE IT STARTS MOVING AGAIN

This station is in one of my favorite neighborhoods. It is accessible to all and has a lot of stairways to the street and platform. There are some really old signs which I'm confused is actually still there. It's cool to watch (M) and (R) trains terminating here. I also love the green color they use. Trains come by frequently.

Forest Hills is a nice clean family neighborhood with lot of diverse population with a big Jewish community . You can see Synagogues, Catholic Church with beautiful stone build architecture. Austin street is the hub for shopping and restaurants. The Sunday farmers market is a nice event to go to for fresh produce.

free Wi-Fi. it's never too hot in the winter or too cold in the summer like a lot of underground stations get (I'm looking at you, Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall station). there's a bathroom here! glory be, an MTA station that actually has a bathroom. all stations should be like this.

Expect to see homeless and some dirtiness. It's not bad, really, serving as a transit center outside of the "city." Just be aware of your surroundings, as you would with everywhere else, but especially here. Crime isn't terrible in the neighborhood, but it has gone up.

  • Zachary Ehrlich

the subway service is lousy in the whole city but this station has accessibility for the handicapped and those who need extra service. It has elevators and though it's big, easy to maneuver for the 4 trains that come through here. good job

I use this area on the weekend mostly an its a real hot mess an the MTA workers try chatting with us for a date but dont tell them they suck they get insulted. So you know i dont have a date !!!!!!!!!! ( mmr) my mouth reckless

  • Denis Hadzajlic

MTA is the worst metro in the World. Always late never on time, on the board says 1min away, that means 15min at least. Cars are dirty and stinky. Most of the time trains getting stucked between the stations.. Unacceptable !!

For a station that’s supposingly centered throughout a more affluent neighborhood in queens you’d think it'd look less dull/sketchy.At least try to make it seem like you’re in a forest by painting the columns green.

  • Sebastian Sinisterra (CitySeby)

Fantastic station with equally fantastic train service. There's elevators, cellular service, and free Wi-Fi here. Very clean station as well. The colors of the pillars are bright and stand out(which isn't bad.).

  • Charlson Ho

The hub of the F, E, M, and R train. However this station being a hub always is full of shady characters and pretty dirty. It's also one of the hottest subway station I've ever been to during the summer.

  • Raul Lopez Gamba

Homeless people have made their home on the station with their belongings and even their beds / mattresses laid out prior to getting to turn styles. Where is NYC Homeless services to help them?

  • Aniko Magyar

Overrun by homeless but train service is fast and regular. No stores on-site (such as kiosks for magazines). Multiple entrances, though sometimes they are closed without notice.

My ultimate favorite neighborhood in Queens, New york city. We don’t have to go to Manhattan, forest hills 71 Av has it all. It’s a good district to live in i would say …

I like this station for many reasons, I have an easy time navigating the streets, the station is clean most of the time and I like the colour and how often trains arrive.

  • Stephen Fueglein

A nasty station, Bed bug problems. The last time it was closed down was January 2020 ,twice within five days of each other. There were at least two other occasions.

  • Fuseguy is Cool

Excellent Stop for the "happening part of Queens." E/F lines serve here 24/7, M line stops Weekdays only and R line stops all times except late nights(11PM)

  • samy khalil

Quiet clean ,you can spend a lot of time In quiet parks near clock tower in 71st Ave .yu can buy anything from Austin Ave . Good neighborhood around here

  • Steven Schaber

Why take the express train when it just waits at Forest Hills for the local train to catch up? Pointless transportation. Dirty and dangerous.

  • Leonardo Torres

It's on of the busiest transportation hubs in the city. There are numerous subway lines & buses that can be reached from this location.

  • Damien Rios

Not a bad train station for where most of the subway action in Queens is. It's a big station, and I personally feel safe in this one.

  • Lou Grant

What if changed to new name of Forest Hills-108 Street/71 Avenue Station instead it’ll be a great idea so please think about it!

  • Divine_Playz

I am a kid who takes the train to school and this is my stop, the trains are very active but lots of homeless and crazy people.

  • Zelda Wolf

I stayed in the tunnel for a hour a problem at 71 and we get in the station no police or nothing and u going to rise the fare.

  • Dallas Plummer

This is a very good station in a great neighborhood with very good train service and the station is accessible.

  • Tobi J

Bus and subway hub...no one around to help you find stop locations and not all buses keep schedules.

  • cesar trujillo

This station is centrally located in the heart of queens. You can to wherever you need to from here.
