I decided to use this moving company because my aunt booked them before and she had a great experience. Unfortunately, my moved was not as great as hers. I had a small one bedroom apartment and everything was boxed up and neatly placed in the living room, so they could just grab and go. The only thing they had to move was the boxes, one queen bed, a medium glass dining table and the four chairs that goes with it. Once they started, the lead mover stood around for a few minutes stating that it was a lot of boxes to be taking up to the second floor for the new apartment and then one of the other movers struggled the entire time as if he had never moved anything before. The lead mover barely help the other two movers; he was moving slow like he was tired. Once we noticed that two hours had passed and they still had quite a bit left to put on the truck, we asked why was it taking so long being that I didn't have much and the little that I did have was boxed up. We called the company number and explained to Jonathan how at the rate they were moving, it was going to end up being a 5 1/2 to 6 hour move, which was not acceptable. A year ago I had the same exact stuff moved from a city that was an hour and a half away from Houston and it only took them four hours to complete, which means this moved should definitely not take longer than that. Jonathan stated he would call the move crew and see what was going on. We got a call back from the company and had to explained the situation all over again to someone else; the woman stated that the only thing she could do was give us a "$50 customer dissatisfaction discount". Surprisingly, they started to move quicker and was able to complete the full move in four hours. The lead mover pulled out his phone for me to sign the time they completed everything. Once I signed I did not click confirm just yet because I was checking my phone to make sure the time was correct. As I'm checking the time, he pressed confirm for me. When I asked why did he do that, he ignored me and just went to the next screen. We paid the owed amount for the move and he said I had to sign one more page before the move could be complete. He clicked the signature box without letting me read what it was for. When I told him I was not signing something I did not read first, he went back. That's when I saw it was a form stating that since they gave us a "$50 customer dissatisfaction discount" that I could not leave any negative reviews on any site and I could not give anything less than 3 stars. I called the company again told them how that wasn't discussed earlier on the call. Jonathan threated to take the discount back if I didn't sign it but I refused because I was going to tell the truth about my move. Jonathan said he would call me back but never did. The lead mover received a call about two minutes after Jonathan and I got off phone. Once his call was over he said "have a good one" while walking off, he got in truck and the other two followed.

I never thought I'd be leaving a review for a moving company, but here we are. First off, let me say, I called many different moving companies. Very few of them actually work on Sunday - but great movers does! I have really low expectations when it comes to moving companies... I've been burned so many times before. Happy to say, this was THE best moving experience I've had. Timely arrival, which included a 25 minute text before they got there. In no time, Kelvin, Lewis, and Jesus got to work! They were super careful with all of our belongings, always asking questions making sure they weren't doing anything wrong. I never had to "motivate" them to work. They moved the entire time and didn't "milk" the clock, like I've dealt with in the past. Just honest to God, hard work. This 3 man squad emptied our 2br2ba 1200 SQ ft apartment and drove to our new house (about 20 mins away) and emptied the truck in just under 5 hours. TLDR: Great Movers Houston is awesome. Fair prices. Hard working. Efficient. Highly recommend you use their services!!!

Moving: You ever have movers come in, make you sign a waiver, then proceed to mishandle your stuff? NOT Great Movers. When I tell you they handled my furniture the same way furniture store delivery people do, that is what I mean. They wrapped everything up and took care not to bang my furniture into anything. They were also very conscientious about not damaging walls/door frames. Security: They sealed the truck after it was loaded and provided me with the security code...when the truck arrived at my new place, I was able to confirm that the seal had not been broken. Once the truck was unloaded, I was invited to inspect it to make sure none of my belongings was still on it. Communication: Chris was the spokes person. He was polite and informative. As a team (Leo, Gala and Chris), they did an excellent job communicating amongst themselves on how to move, when to stop moving to avoid damaging my stuff and again, very courteous throughout the move. I will definitely be using Great Movers for my next move.

This was an excellent experience with a phenomenal crew! Highly, highly recommend! I hired them to take away a ton of old furniture, books and other things - including a piano that had flooded during Hurricane Harvey - from my parents' house. The volume of work ended up being larger than what I originally estimated, and the house was in bad shape. The crew - Miguel and Alexis - were the ultimate professionals, taking away everything with a positive attitude and working with efficiency. They were more than willing to make an additional, unplanned trip because it was what my sister and I needed as customers. They were so pleasant to work with! Ahead of the day of the appointment, the office staff was very responsive to my emails and phone calls, even answering my email within an hour after I sent it on a Sunday! And the value of services I received for the price is unbeatable! I plan to hire them later in the year when we have to clear the remaining things out of the house. Overall a great experience!

Update: I was contacted immediately by Great Movers about my issues. They happily resolved the situation quickly. They were a bit on the expensive side at $145 an hour for 3 men. I asked if they had tape that I could use and they did, but did not tell me that they charged $4 a roll until after the move and they billed my for it and we used 3 rolls. A few things did get broken like my $250 floor lamp in which the switch on the side got knocked loose and now it doesn’t turn on anymore. My $200 concrete patio table was turned top side down and the top has scrapes, scratches and chunks of concrete missing. My $184 entryway shoe rack got bent and scratched up. It was wrapped in plastic wrap, but it was one layer and that was not going to protect it obviously. I did send a text messages the day before the move asking a question and received no response. The movers were great though. Very helpful, positive attitude, cheerful and great to work with.

Javier and crew were very professional. They took an assessment of what items we had and what our expectations were upon arrival. They took great care with our furniture and boxes. I didn’t think there was any way all of our items were going to fit on that truck. These guys know what they’re doing. I was amazed how they got everything to fit on the truck in such a neat and orderly manner. They were efficient and they got it done in way less time than we thought. Since they charge by the hour, you never know how that’s going to go. We never felt for one second that they weren’t working to their fullest capacity. We ended up spending about half of what we were quoted by another recognizable company. Everyone at Great Movers met or exceeded what we had hoped for. We would recommend them without hesitation and will certainly use Great Movers again. Thanks guys!

Our last experience with movers was appalling and this time I was worried and anxious over this move. The movers Great Movers sent me was Dante, Rafael, and Jesus! As soon as they arrive they are the MOST respectful, cordial and detailed movers. They were very cautious and explained everything to us in detail, were extremely respectful of our belongings and our time. They moved a whole bedroom and living room filled with wooden and bulky furniture in 1.5 hours down THREE flights of stairs. They were sweating like crazy in this appalling heat we got going on rn but were still very kind and professional with the way they acted. This was an extremely nice experience and very easy going. Made my anxious day so much easier to deal with lol. Will definitely will remember them next time and refer them to our friends!

I’m lucky to have chosen the Great Movers. Miguel was the manager initializing the moving project 2 weeks before the moving day, actively keeping me posted with the moving day/time and the estimated moving labor/material/fuel costs. Great customer service, arrived on time, friendly staff, they finished so quick, their truck was big enough to move 2 more bedrooms. They did all in one truck without having to go back and reload more stuff. Bilingual staff, they were very well equipped with wrapping plastics, blankets, extra boxes etc. Awesome communication from the moment I scheduled my move, they send automatic text messages to keep you posted days in advance and also the day they’re coming they keep you informed when they’re on their way. This moving company was absolutely amazing during my move date! I was nervous because I never had to hire movers before so I didn't know what to expect. When I read the reviews (all 5 star) I was a little skeptical. Like NO COMPANY has 5 stars . . . at least the ones with a reasonable number of reviews. But man, these guys did not disappoint. First off, they were so professional. On time, great communication, (they even smelled great, lol). They were very hard workers, never slowed down, and took such excellent care of our belongings. Great Movers LLC sent the most helpful movers. This has been such a better experience than my previous moving company. Great movers took extra care of my furniture by wrapping it in blankets and plastic. They communicated their plan to me and moved quickly and were very friendly with their interaction. The best decision I made thus far, they guys were fantastic! Very professional and quick, they knew what they were doing and even made it look easy. Great experience with this crew. Miguel, Juan and Jose did a great job with moving all of our things and we’re flexible when we ran into some scheduling issues with an apartment loading dock.
