This is a review of my past 4 experiences over a 1 year time frame. As a guy it's always been a pet peeve of mine when flower shops take advantage of men by having the free will to do what they want with a budget. This place DOES NOT do that. So many times I've run into the situation of bringing home a 60 dollar bouquet that my girlfriend says has 20 dollars worth of flowers in it, because I've given OTHER flower shops free will. This place has time after time impressed her consistently with their beautiful arrangements while charging me a reasonable price. Yesterday I had an experience where a few hydrangeas died on me early. I called them and sent them some pictures so they had an idea of what was going on. Every other flower was PERFECT as they always are and they agreed their was something wrong with the flowers. They felt so bad about the situation and genuinely want you to walk out as a satisfied customer. They gave me a free credit at the store to replace all the hydrangeas and even rounded up to make sure I had a great experience with the replacement flowers. The ladies that work there have always been so friendly and genuinely want to make sure you have the best flowers to impress your ladies. They could not have handled the customer service side to a small problem any better. Thank you so much for being the place to turn to for us procrastinating guys that need some amazing last minute flowers! You have a life long customer in me.

My daughter just sent me photos of the lovely floral arrangement she picked up at Halsted Flowers. I had ordered from my home in Michigan for her to take to her grandmother at the hospital and the order was everything I was hoping for and more! The colors were just as I'd asked - blue, bright pink, yellow and orange. The flowers were a wide mix of well known AND unusual flowers! The arrangement was the perfect size for a hospital room, bright and cheerful with lots of color, texture and scent. The filler boronia was used and it has a clean, sweet smell, not cloying like oriental lilies or hyacinth. If you know your flowers, you'll recognize the following in the photo...asiatic lily, agapanthus, craspedia, rose, delphinium, bachelor's button, hydrangea, sunflower, gerbera daisy, variegated pittosporum, solidago, stock,orange star of bethlehem. Not certain I got every flower or green from photo, but wow, would highly recommend this florist! Sorry, can't get the photo to load...

Halsted Flowers is amazing! I had a last minute, same day request for a Chicago relative’s milestone birthday. Geneva, the owner, took my order. She worked within my budget and made excellent suggestions for some stunning & unusual flower choices. And she even gave me tips on flower arranging that will help keep floral arrangements lasting longer. The arrangement was delivered to a nearby Chicago address in just a few hours - what incredible service! My sister absolutely loved the arrangement - she sent me a pix and commented that it was “such a vibrant and artful design”. We were both very pleased. This is the second time I’ve ordered from Halsted Flowers - every time it’s been a winner! “Gigi”, thank you so much for helping me out in “crunch time”. I give five stars out of a deliberate act of kindness. As I left the store, I was yelled at by the owner that I was incredibly rude (which I found incredibly rude and never experienced in any flower store). The owner exuded negative energy and frustration, and had incredible prices. I came with a small budget and felt that this affected the service negatively. When one buys flowers, one does it to add joy - but I left the store with so much negativity and stress from this person. I was really down. I wished she would consider how her rude behavior and overt frustration is affecting her customers. I recommend meditation and gratitute exercises to cultivate more positive energy. I will certainly not come back.

I have a friend who lives in Chicago and his cat passed away after having him for 17 years. I found Halsted Flowers on line and read the reviews. Although they were really positive I was not expecting the OUTSTANDING service I received. I needed a rush order of beautiful roses and Geneva and her staff was able to make it happy. My friend called within 90 minutes to say he received them and how beautiful they are. In addition to the beautiful flowers the customer service is outstanding. After hearing why I needed them so quickly Geneva even sent me a picture of the enclosed card (A cat with a halo above his head). How amazing as my friends cat is now in heaven. I needed a very special Birthday Bouquet for a special person who was turning 50. I found Halsted Flowers on a web search, looking for a local florist. This florist will be my florist for anything I need from here on! I spoke to Geneva, the owner and she put together the most astonishing bouquet. My friend couldn't say enough about it, the colors, the flowers the arrangement, just the overall bouquet. She had never seen anything like it. Halsted Flowers is amazing! I ordered from here for the first time this past week and the entire process could not have run more smoothly. I needed flowers for a birthday and there is a wide array of gorgeous flowers to choose from. Geneva helped me pick out my flowers after I described what I wanted and they were perfect. The customer service is excellent and they really care about making sure everything is exactly to your liking. The flowers that arrived were stunning and full, they matched the photo online exactly and the delivery was timely! I love this flower shop and am so happy to have found it!

My adult daughter was celebrating her 30th birthday. As a surprise her husband treated her to an out of town trip. So, when I ordered flowers they arrived to an empty apartment. My daughter called to see if the delivery could be changed and the Halsted owner said no. That's understandable. What is not understandable is that she then went on the critique our family implying we were dysfunctional because I did not know my son-in-law was surprising my daughter for her birthday. That's rude. Her nastiness made my daughter cry. This is not a business I will ever use again.

I think the words were, "wow, I love them, they're beautiful!" Halsted Flowers was great, they worked with me to create a nice arrangement and did an excellent job in delivery communication. I asked them to just eyeball an arrangement, instead of going with something that was pre-planned/made and it was very nicely done. The recipients weren't home when I wanted them delivered, but they maintained contact with me and we worked out a solution to be sure the flowers would be safe until I could take them over myself. It really could not have gone smoother.

They were amazing! They were able to make two bouquets with very short notice. I had specific requests, like using cat-safe flowers and certain colors, and they were able to accommodate everything. They were clear about turnaround time, and worked with me to understand what I wanted and how that would fit in my budget. The bouquets were absolutely stunning. They were for my fiancé and his sister after their grandfather died, and the flowers made a big difference in comforting them. I can’t recommend Halsted Flowers enough. They were wonderful!

I had the pleasure of working with Geneva at Halsted Flowers for my September 22nd wedding. From the minute we spoke on the phone I was impressed and relieved at the amazing customer service I received. The follow up and the way they listened to my needs for my wedding. Very transparent about pricing and worked within my budget! Not to mention how AMAZING my flowers looked! A week and a half later my bouquet and aisle pieces are still alive and thriving! This is the best flower shop in Chicago. Staff is very knowledgeable, helpful, professional and knows all about plants and flowers. While you might get cheaper pre-packed flowers at Trader Joe's nearby, this is an entirely different class. Flowers from here last long and impress everyone. I have been a customer here for years and never got disappointed. They also do delivery, which I have used many times as well. Always on time, always reliable. (beware their no-photography policy in store)

Absolutely love this little shop! Beautiful collection of diverse and unique healthy plants and bouquets, the owner and employees are super kind and knowledgeable, and no doubt in my mind you’ll leave feeling satisfied with your purchase(s)! I bought the prettiest little Harla Aloe with a pup attached that’s just thriving in my living space. Love this bright and different plant and had a hard time finding it elsewhere. Will definitely be visiting this shop more often ❤️

The owner is extremely helpful and professional. When I stopped in, I found her friendly and knowledgeable. I took home some air plants that day. She taught me the rules for air plant car before I left. There is a wide variety to choose from when you stop in. Ordering a bouquet over the phone is painless as well. You can depend on them to make sure a beautiful bouquet, appropriate or the occasion, is created just for you. Definitely my go to florist.

The staff working was extremely helpful as soon as I walked through the door. The arrangement I chose was right out of the coolers, fresh and beautiful. My girlfriend loved them as it was bright and had a wide mix of flowers and gave a wildflowerish vibe. They informed me of up and coming projects they are implementing to help improve options further down the road. Everything seemed extremely sanitary, which is great considering the times we are in.

I had the most lovely experience with Halsted Flowers and cannot recommend them enough! The delivery address changed to outside of their typical delivery route, but they were able to make it all happen! In addition, they were quick to respond, accommodating and professional. Great flower shop in a perfect location for anywhere living near the Diversey stop. I stopped in one morning to quickly pick up a bouquet for my girlfriend before work, and had a great experience. I generally lean toward wildflowers, and Halsted Flowers had a great variety that I don't usually see at other shops. They worked with my budget and I ended up with a very unique bouquet that my girlfriend loved.

I've been a loyal customer to this local florist since I moved to the neighborhood. The owner could not be more genuine and truly has a passion for her life's work with 30+ years in the business. Each arrangement is unique, custom-made to perfection. I highly recommend this place for any occasion from a simple single rose to an elegant affair like a Thanksgiving centerpiece.

Fantastic shop. I bought flowers in person last year and everyone was so nice. This time I called and let them assemble a bouquet for a celebration we're having. All I specified was colorful, fragrant and no roses (personal preference :-) ). The flowers arrived this afternoon and they're stunning. Interesting selection, great color and fragrance. Very pleased.

I love this neighborhood shop! You may have missed it because it’s so tiny but it is filled with treasures. My go to for when I need to brighten up my apartment or for a special occasion. Not your run of the mill flowers and a nice selection of cards and air plants. Pricey but I want to support a small business.

I live out of state and needed flowers to be delivered to a friend in Chicago. I called and easily placed an order for delivery of a bouquet over the phone with no direction other than the occasion. Halsted flowers is my favorite place to buy house plants and flowers. I recently bought a red congo philodendron and a calathea. Both are beautiful in my home. They have a great selection of plants. Very nice, quaint little shop. The owner was very friendly. If you're looking for succulents, this is the place for you, since it seems to be the main thing they sell here. Just be careful when walking in, as the door open right onto a staircase that goes down, so be sure not to trip.

Just sent a birthday gift to my partner from the comfort of my home in DC. Their online store makes delivery easy if you are trying to celebrate someone in Chicago. I would recommend buying a non-traditional gift-pair like a crystal. Chocolates are so last year! (Jk we love geodes).
