"Harbor Freight is a great source for DIY tools, maybe not Snap On , Mac/Matco tools quality, but then again perhaps the same as what comes out of the same Asian factories as nearly all our American distributors buy from thanks to our Socialist Democratic Party and it's agenda of making America a mere participant member in the global Socialist/Communist conglomerate"
"This place takes your breath away literally"
"Stopped by to pick up a cheap welding cart and one other item"
"Well I was grateful to to be offered a 20% discount @ Harbor Freight in celebration of my birthday"
"Decent store! My only issue and concern is don't tell customers without looking that you don't have an item! I was looking for a certain product and I knew that they had it in stock because I had another store call"
Harbor Freight is a great source for DIY tools, maybe not Snap On , Mac/Matco tools quality, but then again perhaps the same as what comes out of the same Asian factories as nearly all our American distributors buy from thanks to our Socialist Democratic Party and it's agenda of making America a mere participant member in the global Socialist/Communist conglomerate. Globalization may be inevitable, hence the term "nation - states" or reference to a "sovereign" nation as a "state", but when a good deal is presented to me for tools I go for it and will deal with the treasonists later. Recently I drove all the way to the Castleton Harbor Freight to buy a gas powered chipper/shredder on sale for $50 off regular price, as per super coupon. The display was the only one they had. Imagine that. They suggested I go to Anderson or Muncie or Kokomo, which I refused to do. They would not get one from another store for me, would not ship another one from another store to me without a high shipping charge, but have me a rsin check good for only 30 days. I ended up calling the Anderson Harbor Freight, they verified they had one, we drove to Anderson from Cicero and after a 45 minute wait while they looked for it, all they had was a 3 year old display. I refused to pay for a three year old display with dried out seals and who knows what other problems. How are they still in business being that poorly run ? If and when I actually get the chipper/shredder for the advertised sales price, I'm pretty much done with Harbor Freight after this nightmare.
This place takes your breath away literally. There's a lot of 'off-gassing', poor ventilation inside. So I hurry and shop. My 1st time at this location that's pretty convenient, off the beaten path but within the trail of shopping I had. I also had a fist full of coupons from the mailbox. They had amazing prices, a knock out variety of items and everything I wanted in stock. I did want a larger and heavier sponge, but I did get one that would work a couple of times. I do wonder how some things here will hold up to use? Many microfiber and various cloths available too with edge stitching. Nice. I am trying some polishing cloths. I am also trying their nitrite gloves for light duty cleaning I usually do bare-handed. I really liked the store and the cashier was just amazing, thorough, helpful and kind ~ My favorite part. I signed up my new address for catalogs for my husband to shop for Father's day. Signage outdoors says 'Everything Must Go', but the business isn't going anywhere. They are reducing inventory to bring in more name brands I overheard. I had thought my 1st visit would be my last, but no, they'll be here for you!
Stopped by to pick up a cheap welding cart and one other item. I knew it was probably a mistake since every other trip to Carmel HF has been a disaster, but thought I'd give it a shot. The welding cart they had in stock, the Oxy--Acetylene cart was not (even though they showed it as in stock on the web). Ok, the Carmel HF has always been a disappointment, but this isn't too bad. I get in line, there is only one person in front of me so I'm hoping the wait won't be so long. I end up waiting 10+ minutes and right when the guy is wrapping up another register opens and the people behind me move over. The man in front of me starts for the door and I move up to the cashier who looks at me, says "Sorry" and walks away. I just left the cart and walked out the door. Drove directly to Northern Tools, the folks were extremely helpful, got my cart and was out the door in 15 minutes. I swear to God I will never set foot in a HF again.
Well I was grateful to to be offered a 20% discount @ Harbor Freight in celebration of my birthday. I had an ultimate destination set for this day (July 4th) and actually drove 20 miles out of my way to buy an entry level all purpose compressor as a gift to my son in law who is in need of one. I lost interest in their reasoning for denying the discount and left while your sales associate was still talking. I've purchased a large assortment of goods from Harbour freight and have been relatively pleased with my choices. They fill a need at very reasonable prices. My selection would have been a reasonably priced choice even without the discount but I got a bad taste in my mouth at that point. I don't expect something for nothing bit I can't pass up a good deal. I've got a basement full of them. Not a big deal, not even a lot of money but a disappointment none the less
Decent store! My only issue and concern is don't tell customers without looking that you don't have an item! I was looking for a certain product and I knew that they had it in stock because I had another store call. I went to this store and was told if it wasn't on the floor they didn't have it. I told the associate that I know they have the item and I was from another store 60 miles away and he needed to look in the back. He was very hesitant to go and check but with asking to speak to a manager he changed his mind and went to the back room and found my item. Harborfreight please don't argue with your customers especially when you have no idea who your speaking to. It's very unprofessional and you almost lost a sale and gained a complaint. Overall the company is pretty decent just train your associates better in customer service!
These guys are great. Had not been in a while but cashier helped me save some dough by applying a coupon. I would have saved more if I’d just logged into my account and had more coupons to use. Since they don’t print them anymore you still have to get them from their website. I found a trickle charger for $10 that does the job of fancier $40 units. If this lasts 2 years it’s a deal ( the more expensive ones might last longer but my wife moves/covers/buries them and I can’t find them, lmao). There is some stuff that does not last but when you need a quick and affordable fix, there are so many reasons to love Harbor Freight!!!
Lost two stars because the guy that rung me up just wouldn't quit with trying to sell me on EVERY possible last bell and whistle after I told him I wasn't interested in the first item mentioned or anything to follow, still kept going after I told him I literally drove across town before work and did not have time for sell pitches, I get the fact he was doing his job, but I clearly told him at the start I wasn't interested in any of it and still kept going. But they did have everything I was needing unlike the two locations closer to me which is why I pushed my luck and made the trip.
This is not a Snap On level of tool but not a bad choice and for the price of most things; this is where the typical person should get their stuff. I have a woodworking and handyman business and get stuff from here all the time. As hard as I am on tools, I get them here and don't mind if I tear them up. I can afford to replace them with little hassle. Got a jackhammer from here and was worried about the quality... It has lasted years, destroyed rocks, concrete, among other things. Worth it. Just one of many examples of successes I've had with stuff here.
As a builder I buy many quality tools from them but won't be returning to this store one manager was very disrespectful torward me refused to adjust receipt 4 an item that went on sale ten days after purchase,, went 2 Washington st store and he made it right even tho I didn't purchase at his store I have told my employees I will terminate there employment with me if they turn in a receipt from that store Please don't buy there wish i could give no stars ! Months later still hurt by one mans actions he made Co. Look Bad.
I know notice some of the item are the same as Homepot and Menard except their eletric tools are less in prices by useing the coupon or the one they sent you to get the deal. But when I went to buy a tile cutter blade which is the same prices as the major store, oops two cent different. Please dont treat us like we stupid, we know the difference between cheap ASIAN products from other Asian makes also. They sell you cheap machine but the blades almost the price in large store.
Harbor freight is a good chain with lot of quality tools with low prices but this store has unfriendly staff. I'm posting this review publicly after second time. People getting treated differently. I was there to get some tools to do DIY oil changes. Cashier at the register was impolite with his attitude and even didn't give the receipt in hand. He kind of throwed on the table. I will stop going to this store. No wonder why this store has bad reviews.
Great visit. First time at the Castleton location. Was greeted when I walked in the door. Was led to the torque wrench and breaker bar aisle when I asked where it was. Asked if they sold single sockets or if I had to purchase a set. Looked around for a bit and when I went to check out, the cashier was friendly and asked if I found everything I was looking for. Great experience for a tool store. Highly recommend.
This is one of the better stories unlike greenwood who has a very unfriendly clerk this store is pretty decent. Prices are about the same although harbor freight has dropped down in my book recently, as they no longer produce papers post covid-19. Everything is handled to email which I'm sure is cheaper for them but it also doesn't offer me discount so I tend to shop a bit more elsewhere.
This is a larger Harbor Freight. The store is a little dark inside, but the amount of my merch is really good. I've found that HF merch does get the job done, usually at a lower price than Big Box stores. I can't say that I've been disappointed with purchases at all. You can undoubtedly but higher quality tools elsewhere, but bang for the buck is Harbor Freight's fortee.
Harbor Freight is the bomb! Great tools at an incredibly low price. The tool quality is excellent and if you desire anything greater than the standard 90 warranty you can purchase it. Great carpentry, wood working and automotive tools. Lots of specials and coupons. Be sure to read ads and bring in coupons. Price, value and quality all speak for themselves.
Jerry was great, however he was off the day I came. Next day I returned a wagon it was Saturday staff was rude and even the manager did not engage with me over why I returned wagon. I got something else while there and even then cashier was unfriendly. It was free flashlight day.. I am a member. No light for me. I will not be returning here..
Usually I have a good experience here. However, I went on July 4th this year to use a specific coupon that could only be used that day. I called the # on the coupon pamphlet to find out when they closed. The recording said 7pm. I got there around 6:15pm and they were already closed. So I couldn't use the coupon and it wasted my time and gas.
Found what I was looking for. I came in at 8:50pm looking for a special hitch. I had the guy look and see if they had one, the computer showed they didn't. The lady stepped in and said I think we have one on the trailer out back. She went back and got it. Any other store wouldn't have done that. I will be coming back to this location. 5stars
Scott helped us out today and was very kind. They have a lot of helpful tools, equipment, and more. We also got help from another employee since I could not locate the fuzes. This place has good stock, good prices, is organized, and clean. Their website was helpful too on our search to fix up an old motorcycle. Will definitely be back.
They have things you will fantasize about having later, I was just fine stumbling through life with my trusty old black toolbox, and then the new models sleek and shiny okay that's nice and then turn the corner and what! Orange your making them in ORANGE with a top box, with add on side cabinets available! Ok I have to go
Nice place especially for tools you only need for one time use. Much cheaper than big box stores. The best place to buy tools you will never use also, just for your collection! All in all as an mid aged Male I would compare the excitement of going to this place about the same as a strip club, five star!
I came this place for the first time in my life. It looks every man’s dream place. Compare with Snap-on or other top of the line tool places, this place is a lot cheaper and has tons of good quality tools. They have 100 times better tools than made-in China’s. The most of their hand tools from Taiwan.
This store is great. It's clean and the prices are tough to beat. I have a fair amount of tools from here and most of them are pretty decent. Ive had some tools break, but can't be mad when a 4 year old $12 angle grinder breaks. Look online and you will find coupons most the time
This place sucked me in, went to buy razor blades and ended up with a HF credit card, a new floor jack, a drill, a circular saw, buffing supplies, flashlights, compressor accessories, gloves, batteries, hose clamps. Oh and a flux core welder that I used for this repair at work.
I was looking for a specific 2-in-1 Dolly, and the spot on the floor was empty! I asked a sales associate and they happily checked the back for me. Thankfully there was one back there, so I left with what I came for. Thank you so much for your quick, friendly customer service!
Heaven forbid you want to feel how a toolbox moves around That right there besides the rest of what I was going to get would've been easily $800 just today. I also will not be returning to this location. Michigan road local is worth the longer drive for customer service
First time there, so only 4 stars. Clean and exceptionally well organized and stocked store. Friendly staff. Amazed with the variety of tools. Again, my visit was short, but productive - I'm sure if all remains unchanged my future visits will result in a 5 star rating.
I visit this Harbor Freight periodically usually when my wife and I traveled North in the city. I always have a positive experience here of course the tool prices are very reasonable in competitive and the customer service team or very helpful without being pushy.
Lots of free parking and easy access to the shipping recieving door to pick up large items. The staff here is polite and willing to help you find what you need and have never had an issue with checkout times or basic items in stock including power tools.
This location had just been remodeled and was very clean and organized. The staff was very helpful and as always prices are great. I'm not sure how well these tools would hold up to commercial use but for random use around the house they seem just fine.
Very reasonable prices, coupons make them even better, smaller store so their selection is limited vs done of their bigger stores. Pretty easy to get to. Reasonable quality for their products, but they do stand behind their return/replacement policies.
Managed to walk the whole store looking for something without a single employee offering to help - and at least two literally doing an about-face to walk away from me. If this is their idea of "social distancing" they might be taking it a bit too far .
This place is alright. You can get cheap Chinese tools. Some of the things are pretty good, but quality is pretty hit and miss. Some of their things aren't even worth buying. I recommend checking YouTube reviews before buying anything there.
Handy to have this store so close. In general, HF has better prices than most hardware stores. This store has been affected by covid as items I have been looking for have been out of inventory. May want to call first for specific items.
First time there was greeted, helped and loaded without asking, sounds good to me. You should know quality isn't why you come here but it has its usefulness. Avoid buying cordless tools here but everything else you can get away with.
The store lay out was a little different compared to the location I usually go to. Got a 3 ton floor jack for under a bill with the coupon. They didnt have the one I came to buy though. Told me nobody has the older model grey ones.
Has lots of cool tools at great prices. However, they're not the best. If you're a professional and use your tools everyday, these are not for you. But if you need a tool for home projects every once in awhile, this is your place.
My favorite toy store. They always have the best quality tools and they always have what I'm looking for. They also have a lot of items on sale, so there's a good chance that whenever I go in, I know I'll be saving money. …
Super friendly staff and very helpful. We purchased a log splitter at the Castleton store, but when we got it home, it didn't work. We were able to exchange it at the Plainfield store with no problem. Pleased with our purchase!
Judy was amazing! I called 2 other stores looking for a jack and she had 1 left and was able to hold it while I make the drive from the southside. Will return again just based on the level of great support! Thanks again!!
Great tools for a good price the place is clean and organized with all you could ever need for car projects or construction work or just week end honey do projects the staff is very knowledgeable and very nice a must see.
Competitively priced tools that work when you need them. The store staff is always friendly & helpful. Make sure you sign up for their email and store mailer to get deals and discounts mailed to you each month. Jeff Bell
They have remodeled this location and expanded their selection. Always economically priced and the quality is improving with their additional lines of products. The layout in the new store experience is very nice!
Harbor freight was a great experience. Being a weekend warrior of repairing things around the house. The staff was really helpful in directing me find the right tools to get the job done, the first time around.
I’ve had tools from all the major companies. The tools I have purchased from Harbor Freight are as good or better than them all. And, they cost MUCH less. I will forever buy any and all tools at HARBOR FREIGHT!
They carry a wide variety of tools and accessories. Most of them made in China. But most of the tools are good enough for the average weekend handyman. Some are just as good as many "Name Brands"
Great for striking tools and consumable sundry items. Not so great for anything that should be precision machined, non-toxic, or "in spec." You get exactly what you pay for. Shop accordingly.
Cheap tools and a lot of variety to choose from. Quality of items could be better but not at the prices they sell them for. Some of their stuff is actually as good as other high end brands.
If you’re looking for cheap parts in a hurry to get a job done Harbor Freight has you covered. I had to return some parts too, and they were very gracious and helpful in getting them done.
HFT has officially replaced Sears for tools. The prices are hard to beat the the quality of their handtools is decent for non-pro use. Checkout service can get slow but inventory is good.
Went in to buy a mower jack and the staff was friendly and helpful. They did not even need asked to help me load the heavy purchase and all in all it was a great shipping experience.
I did not love it because I got the right tool. In fact I was recommended the wrong tool. However, I do love that they acknowledged their mistake and made the return process easy!
Understaffed very slow check outs the 2 guys working the checkouts were real balls of fire to say the least. Nice large store wish I had time to look at the selection they had.
Great selection of tools for the average home owner and DIY mechanic. Tools have gotten better in quality, if you haven't considered Harbor Freight in awhile try them again.
The day after I made a purchase here they put the item on an email sales list. There was NO problem on getting a price adjustment. I appreciate that about Harbor Freight.
Shop wisely and the deals can't be beat. Watch for some cheap Chinese junk, but a lot of great deals. Always bring a free and 20% off coupon with you or you're a fool!
Excellent customer service in helping me locate punch dies and saw blades. This will definitely be one of our new go-to locations for supplies, and thanks again!
Helpful staff, I have minimal handy experience and the staff helped me navigate my purchases and answered my questions. Also, great prices on many items.
Always good prices and helpful staff. I mostly use coupons here, but the one complaint I have is the organization and cleanliness of the store itself.
Harbor Freight: The Aldi's of tools! The staff was helpful. I needed more of an item, so they went in the back and got more for me and the shelves.
This is a great place to even just browse. You never know what you might find. Staff is very friendly & helpful. They also have a discount program.
Sales circular in store not good for over a week, want you to sign up for membership $30 to get sale prices. Go to Menards instead
It's harbor freight, this one seemed to have some stuff the one I go to in my home state, and some stuff it didn't have.
Had what I needed in stock ...staff was helpful to load it on the truck ..in and out definitely recommend this store
Staff is almost always helpful and very nice. Except Kelli. It's almost as if she goes out of her way to be rude.
Customer service was great, not because they didn't know the product, but because of the willingness to help.
Moderately sized store with awesome deals on some items. Got several things I needed for a great price
Very friendly staff and an eclectic array of tools combine to form and place that makes shopping easy
Picked up a generator here employees were helpful thanks floor model generator works great
They have about everything you need to stock your toolbox. It's not too expensive either.
Manager found product in stock although it wasn't visible to me on shelf
Great place for tools you may use once in a while. Friendly staff
Always something new to find. Prices are always very reasonable.
Excellent selection of tools for DIY. Staff is always helpful.
Cheap tools, they've got them what else do you expect
Clean, easy to find what you need. Attentive staff.
They are actually durable and great tools here
Helpful, knowledgeable staff.
Good place to get tools
