Went to the NEW store at the Malvern Town Center in Scarborough today with the intention of purchasing a few reclining patio lounge chairs. The floor associates were extremely helpful, the store appeared clean and all the items were clearly labelled with pricing. One of the associates was very friendly and was kind enough to help me carry the items to cash out. This is when things turned. The items rang up incorrectly at more than triple the labelled pricing. The cashier and the associate made a call to Shawn/Sean the store manager whose attitude was terrible. Even though the cashier and the associate felt that they should give us the labelled price they had to check first.We asked to speak with the manager in person but the manager did not even have the decency to come out to talk to us when we requested. After waiting about 15 minutes the associate himself went to seek out the manager and the associate came back but seemed frustrated at the managers decision and apologized that the manager would not show his face. The managers decision that was given to the associate to pass on was that the best they would do was to give us a discount but not to honour the price as labelled...NOT a great way to make a first impression on a new customer coming to your new store. By this time the line up at the cash was about 10 deep and all the other clients were encouraging us to fight harder and get the price as marked...We left without a purchase and will never go back to the store because of the rude handling and the managers mis-treatment...Pretty sure the other customers at the cash were not impressed as well... Well i have to say that after i posted this negative review i was contacted by Hart Customer Service immediately...They wanted details of my experience and then they started an investigation. To their credit even though it took 3 weeks they resolved the situation accordingly and the good news is that they honoured the incorrect pricing. I went into the store today and picked up the items and was treated very well by staff. They even helped with loading the items into my truck. Everyone deserves a second chance and in my opinion they have earned some of my future business. They were able to turn an unhappy customer into a happy customer...Thanks again Hart Customer Service
If I could give a zero rating, I give it to Scarborough Hart's store, because of the vulgar customer service I experienced and seen towards other customers by Lilly, Hart's Scarborough CSR. I visited the Scarborough location this week, and Lilly, the customer service representative announcement over the microphone that "it's 20 mins before closing, so STOP shopping and leave the store!" Wow! I visited that store a few times and avoided her because of her bipolar aggressive nature and words used towards Harts CUSTOMERS, but when I heard that disrespectful, and devaluing announcement I was moved to write this review. What kind of employer is Hart's to hire and keep Lilly on staff? Her monstrous attitude, and poor self control is highly questionable. Lilly is not people oriented. She is more task oriented, and gets very anger if you interrupt her work flow. This is especially true nearing closing time, she opens her eyes wide at you, going from (0-100) and let's you have it speaking her frustration aloud, creating a scene, very embarrassing. Lilly is unprofessional, and unintentionally ignorant. She is the single deterrent for me to shop at that store more often especially because I don't live in the neighbourhood, I expect my shopping experience to be pleasant but it is not. Maybe Hart's keep her on staff because Malvern is a tougher neighborhood, and she is the same. Has Lilly been trained to stereotype? Does this mean Malvern customers should not be treated with dignity and respect because of the postal code since Lilly displays intolerances towards all persons shopping at that store. It's clear Lilly needs stress management, psychological help, plus customers service and sensitivity training , and this is just the beginning. Lilly is a bully on a power trip. Hart's Scarborough customers should not have to be exposed to her verbal abuse and disrespect she constantly displays at liberty.

I bought some stuff from here one was wrong size and when I came back to return or exchange it for the right size they refused to do so there was three ladies in the front counter two was saying yes you can return and one named lily keeps refusing and her behaviour was really bad and rude she starts making excuses not to return it. Then she said I can return one not the other when I agreed to it I put it on the counter for her then all of a sudden she started telling me that I throw it on the counter she said I will not serve you told the other two ladies to serve me I was shocked I have to raise my voice and telling her to help me cause I need to go to work but she didn’t and the other two ladies did the same making me wait for 10-15 minutes ignoring me and I kept asking them they said we are counting our till you have to wait if you you keep raising your voice we will call the security the lily lady serve two more people and kept me waiting so disappointed with their service I paid for things it’s not that they give me something for free and kept embarrassing me for nothing . Management please get these girls trained as they don't know how to assist customers.
Hmm. Not sure where to begin. But let’s start with 1 star! If I could give this place a zero stars I would. The store hours are wrong. Drove from Richmond hill all the way to this store. online it says it closes 6pm and I got there at 4:49pm and was told by a girl who wears a scarf that there are closing at 5pm.. I told the girl “sorry, but online it says 6pm.. you guys might want to change your hours it’s confusing” but the girl didn’t like that I told her and she rolled her eyes. when I got to the register at 4:58pm - the black manager was cashing out a couple in front of us. When it came to our turn the black manager told us to leave and won’t be cashing us out. We were confused and she called the security on us. Lol she stood in between the two doors and explained to the security only her side of the story and before the security got to us it was 5:05pm and we were told to leave the store. The black manager told me “the only reason im not cashing you out is because you walked in here with attitude and told us to correct our hours, now I have to be petty” Huh? I’m sorry I told you to change your store hours so it’s convenient for people like us who are coming from far. I will be reaching out to corporate. Security was very bias.
My daughter Jameeka worked building the store and ended up being let go by her CO-WORKER not MANAGER. Do you realize that is absolutely NOT ok? She basically was marginalized to build the store like a slave and was discarded like she was worth nothing. She was also on very tall ladders and using drills...were these youth, giving their all they had, even covered by WSIB? They never ONCE had a team meeting to discuss the expectations of the day. I don't even think any of the managers knew her name. Between the constant smoke breaks and arguments in front of the employees and behind scenes, they had to take charge and manage themselves to figure out how the store was to be built. Everyday, my daughter would come home frustrated because management would never communicate to the employees properly and there was a lack of direction. And were is her vacation pay??? Sounds like a nightmare to me I will be reporting them to the BBB Sincerely, Disappointed Mother
If I could give a place zero stars, this would be the first. Malvern needs a lot of things but it definitely does not need another dysfunctional store tainting it's mall. As a former employee who has both helped set up the store AND help manage with the chaos after opening, I can honestly say that this company/location really needs to get their sh*t together! I've worked many places, retail or not I have never encountered suck a lack of organization and communication with customers and employees. Even almost a month after opening there are STILL issues ranging anywhere from incorrect prices to inventory management, not to mention ZERO labels on their products. The management is practically non-existent and you can try giving their head office a call to report these on-going problems and see how far you'll get. My personal advice is stay FAR away from this store, save your money and go to the Wal-Mart Supercenter down the road.
Amazing customer service! I bought 1 set of blinds from this location and needed another size for the matching windows. Sadly no stores near me had them in stock, closest was Peterborough. Online delivery was not available. I called a few stores around and was told they had no control over stock. I sent an email to c/s online and immediately someone from Hart Scarborough called me back and told me the manager would drive to another location to get my blinds for me! I was ecstatic. Not 2 days later I got a call my blinds were at the store and I could pick them up. They were waiting for me at front cash, picked them up the next day. I am so happy with the quality of the blinds and more importantly I am grateful for the c/s at this store and how the employees went above and beyond for me. The person I spoke to on the phone was so friendly as well. A+++ Thank you :)
Re: Customer comment below from David: Incorrect information posted on his comments. Masks are NOT required 'for everyone'. It's a legal issue, human rights issue, and an issue a personal choice if one wishes to wear a disposable medical masks for hours on end. Well you are correct that it is "required/mandatory", there is always the fine print/exceptions to everything. Medical mask enforcement is not a law. It's a local health legislation, and a cashier choosing not to wear a disposable medical mask or conceal her identity well waiting on customers is her personal choice and is protected in any legal issue. In other words, you cannot sue someone for choosing not to wear disposable medical mask. Also if that's the only issue you had with the store, that is an unfair review of a business.
I came here for a food processor and left very disappointed and angry. I’ve been to this store before and I knew they sold them. It’s curb side pick-up and I called them to ask if they’re sold. The woman who picked up (mind you I saw here sitting in a chair near the entrance) picked up, didn’t get up to look at all, and answered no. I asked her again and she said no without even looking through the store. I had another friend call again. He saw that they were in stock on their website and asked the woman. She then says “then order it online” and hangs up. Garbage service, and workers who don’t deserve to be paid at all. I won’t recommend anyone to buy things from there, only if you want to be left feeling extremely upset. Do your job.
In love with this store. I was familiar with the Jackson Square location at one time and didn't realize how much the store has changed, for the better. They have beautiful household items. The lady who answered the phone today held a shower curtain for me and when I went in I came out with so much more. A month I searched for a curtain and finally found the right shade and fabrics here for very cheap. Also had beautiful rugs and lamps, housewares, appliances, gifts, clothing shoes. I was in awe at their selection. Hart management you need to give us a store in York Region- Vaughan! They have some very kind employees that work there! Henry also went out of his way to help me sort stuff out.
NEVER do online business with them. They are the most unprofessional company ever. I waited 16 days patiently for them to ship my order. But still no shipping. I called their customer service few times and it always goes to a pre recorded message, promise to call back in 2 business days. WHAT A LIE? I ended up getting my money back through PayPal. Thanks to them. I don’t usually post negative reviews of any business but I don’t want anyone else to go through this frustration. I promised my daughter an inflatable pool. Pretty good variety and selection of items. Reasons for 3 stars is = some shelves although stocked don't have any pricings.. Some of the prices aren't that reasonable depending what they are Staff can be a hit or miss. Although most are friendly but they could use some customer service upgrade skills. It took a while before 2 cashiers talking noticed we were in line which to me is unprofessional. Didn't seem like they were urgently willing to serve us or cared if we just walked out with a few chocolate bars..
I'm so disappointed after making and effort driving and consuming costly gasoline these days going to this store. A product shown or advertised in the very front page of their flyer and don't have it the very first day of sale due to non delivery of the supplier. Why would they release a flyer if some products won't be in the store and store won't give a rain check at least as a gesture of goodwill.
I have tried and tired to shop at this place, it has a couple of cute items, but the store is a mess. There are boxes on top of boxes. I think this store has potential they really need a clear out of boxes, and more importantly customers service. I did not get hello or can I help you today ? on top of that there is no price on a whole aisle only handwritten onces on two iteams ..... Please fix up!!
Customer service is awesome! I had an issue with window blinds I bought there, but it was after the 30 days and I didn't have the receipt. I filled a form on their website not expecting to hear back. The manager Nicole contacted me near immediately and was very accommodating providing a full refund. I don't know many stores that are so helpful with the personal touch. Will shop here again!
This lady no respect for anyone, no mask during health protocol required everyone indoor must wear face covering to protect each other. She so rude to every customers that have a question for her. How do you manage to run success business with one of this unprofessional sale and service. I guess the store is closing because of her. This is mississauga location.
Customer service is excellent. Very prompt in responding to questions. Nicole Brown went far and beyond to try to help me get the items that are not available in Scarborough. Very interesting store. Things are messy and unorganized and the store does not have a welcoming feeling. Products which are labeled to be in store are unavailable and things are all over the place. Tried to get in contact with an associate, but they looked vaguely around the area and told me it was unavailable
DO NOT ORDER ONLINE. I do not recommend ordering online. I ordered 10 items but only 9 items came. There was one missing and another one wrong color came. It’s been a month now and still no actions from them and no reply. It’s just a waste of my money. NEVER order online at hart store!
BAD staff! they were rude to my mom. Do not buy from this store the products are like dollar tree quality. I recommend going somewhere else if you want good products that aren’t such a waste of money. The attitude from the staff was so bad. The manager was a rude OLD women.
It was good! Decently priced items. Good customer service. Although their collection of furnitures isn't as great as dedicated furniture stores. But still not bad. Also they have hand sanitizers at the entrance which puts your mind at ease.
One of the best place to shop basing household needs. They always have great deals going on. Only down side is seems to be they only have limited stocks so you gotta go earlier to get the benefit. Staffs are friendly at this location.
Worst customer service!!! I was chastised like a child at the register for not mentioning a return prior to additional purchase. Then I was locked out of the store 10 min before closing by the same employee who smiled while doing so.
Never been to their store. But their online shopping sucks big time. Waited 2 weeks and no shipping yet, called their customer service multiple times and left numerous voicemails, they NEVER responded. Big time scam. Beware.
