I recently used Hercules Moving Company to move from Halifax to Ottawa. They gave me a date range of August 7th-12th for the pickup of my belongings. We hadn't heard anything from them until the 5th of August, letting us know they will arrive the next morning August 6th. This gave us less than 24 hours notice to have everything ready to go for the next morning. During our phone call we discussed if the mover would need to shuttle our stuff to a larger truck due to potential size issues with the larger truck. I made it clear that they would not need to shuttle as there is plenty of room for even an 18 wheeler to enter the property. They ended up using a shuttle when they showed up and I asked the driver why they didn't bring the truck in and he agreed that they could have. After they arrived with our stuff in Ottawa, they called and said we had to pay before they would bring our stuff to our new house. We agreed to pay, and noticed an $800 shuttle service fee tagged onto the invoice. We brought it up immediately and were told that it will have to be discussed with someone else and they just need payment and they will unload. We paid, they unloaded, and the move was complete. The boxes were mostly deformed, which is fine because only a few items were damaged in the process. One item in particular was a large bandsaw that had the motor broken off in the move. Today, September 30th, we finally heard back from Hercules after several attempts at contacting them over the past month and a half. Their offer was $120 for damages as well as no comment on the shuttle fee other than brushing the matter off to another employee or saying the claim is in process. Original quote given after items list was established was $3,800, final move cost was $6,200.

Movers themselves were very nice, polite and professional but...I used this company to move a large specific heavy item that they agreed to move. I sent pictures of the item, size weight and all the specs...they said no problem so we entered into a contract. When the move day came, oh our lift broke, oh our truck is not made for this we will have to come back another time. I called the office and was rudely told yeah the movers don’t want to do it so... I said that the company agreed and this was the reason I dealt with them in the first place. He said you need to convince the movers cause they told me they just don’t want to do it... I asked for call backs and nothing so far 10 days and still no call back. So not professional. They will tell you they can do the hard and complicated move then get here and not do it and only do the easy things and demand payment right then and there. They also asked payment in cash to save taxes...CRA might have an issue with this... You have basic move needs go ahead but if you have something out of the normal don’t, they will scam you and only do the easy stuff then tell you they will arrange the following days to do the other items and simply never call back or respond to calls. A move is stressful enough and these guys only had to the stress and complicate this even more. Trying to get another company to move the item they refused to do in short notice is not easy and costly. NO A GOOD COMPANY mi advice STAY AWAY

I would like to help and save others time and money! I hired this company on May 20th deposit was given for my cross country move to Alberta, I was told three men were going to show up, I was told between 5-8, only two men arrived at 8:20pm no 30 min a hour window, when they arrived immediately saw my item list inside and made faces of confusion because the truck had other clients order filled more than half of the truck. The company says I am at fault because of my items lists, when everything I had was clearly noticed and even the extra stuff I had added I was now going to take on my pick up. Needless to say, the guy on the phone was rude to the extreme that hung up the phone. Stay away from this company, even the movers did not agree with the way it was handle by the office. I took pictures and video of the way things are to show that my so called “item list was not going to fit with only 8 Ft left. I am going to state again, not even my item los it will fit. The scared owner has the poor movers taking pictures but it’s clear to them too my item list was not going to fit. He says that I neede to call 24 hours before but what about the client before me thah did not call and filled the truck with more stuff. No professional, steal people’s money and cause an emotional pain.

We have used Hercules Company for moving an extra heavy piece of Furniture that weighted more than 2500 Pounds. and I have to say the experience is more than amazing. the guys (Crew) worked on this were more than marvelous, professional, no one single damage happened, they work quietly. They do think before they do the move. The crew worked on my location were four strong polite gentlemen. the only one bad experience was trying to reach their office, asking for dates and responds to some of the inquiries that I had, responsiveness isn't really the best, since I had to send multiple emails and followed up with multiple phone calls, but once I overcame that hurdle, the crew themselves working on site are just amazing!!!

Moving across the country is stressful enough - DO NOT use this company if you’d like to avoid further stress. Discussed move-in date on specific date. After 2 weeks, they attempted to change the date by over a week. Completely unacceptable. We made all plans surrounding the discussed date. Their solution? We can store it for you since we’re going to be earlier. The cost? An additional $1,200. LOL Take your business literally anywhere else. July 27 Edit: It would have been nice if the Business spent half the time they did writing a lengthy essay to attempt an actual solution to the issues we had. 1-Star remains, and that is generous (as there is no 0-star option).

This company does not follow covid guidelines or bylaws provided by the city of Ottawa. NONE of their employees were wearing masks or using social distancing AT ANY POINT while moving me out of my busy apartment building. Their behaviour was so egregious, to the point where they were walking up behind other tenants and invading their personal space. Very embarrassing. Edit: it is a shame you feel the need to lie. I tried calling & leaving my name and phone number 4 separate times. It seems the only time you care about the service you provide is when you receive a one star review.

We recently purchased our first house in Ottawa (moved from Guelph) during a very busy time in life (young kiddo at home & very pregnant at the time). Simon was kind, patient and thorough. He walked us through the process, was friendly and very transparent about all the details. We are also grateful to the movers, who were diligent, courteous and impressively fast/efficient at packing and moving from and to our new home! Decent value and trustworthy, everything arrived on time (within reason) and in good shape. Thank you for helping us in this busy, exciting time!

We used HMC this past weekend for a move from one house to another house and they were one of the best we’ve ever used. They showed up on time and wrapped and took extra care of all our items. I felt bad because it was about 45 with the humidex. But they didn’t complain once and had great attitudes. I wish I had got their names so I could call the Ottawa location directly to sing them praises! We will definitely be using them again!! Thanks for a great move!

Top notch service. The movers were friendly, courteous and very professional. They were faced with many challenges (no elevator and 3 floors to climb being one of them) and never hesitated in coming up with clever solutions for difficult situations. Do not recommend this moving company, used them in September 2019. They damaged some of my furniture and one of the movers said s--t when moving my bedroom furniture. My wood footboard for my bed got cracked by these guys. They didnt admit it. Also they trimmed the backing of my curio cabinet without asking, very unprofessional. Some of my bedroom drawers were damaged too. Nobody got back to me when I called.

I had to move my stuff from a storage unit in Toronto to an apartment in Ottawa, and I was struggling to find movers who could do it for a reasonable cost. Hercules was not only the cheapest quote, but they were on time (early actually) for both pick up and delivery, fast and efficient, and professional. Would definitely recommend to anyone who has a long-distance move coming up!

Only good things to say! Hercules Moving Company moved us from Ottawa to the east coast this fall and it was a great experience. They were efficient and respectful when in our home and mindful of our belongings. The communication via phone calls was excellent. They kept us in the loop for pick up and drop off times. Hercules speacialty movers have handled our equipment on several occasions. They are hard workers, quick, careful, and carry themselves with the utmost respect. Their pride in their work shows without a doubt. Our equipment is awkward, heavy, very delicate, and quite expensive. They will continue to be the first one we call for our moving needs. Very specifically we had to move an upright piano - The Hercules movers protected the home ( from any collateral damage to walls, floors etc., they took good care in wrapping and protecting the piano, secured it, removed it and delivered the piano in excellent form. The movers also did small things to facilitate the move. We will use them again. Thanks guys.

I would highly recommend Hercules Moving Company. The team that was sent were exemplary. They were courteous - always asked for guidance - took great care with all of our belongings even when we said they didn't need to worry about some pieces. They worked hard and didn't stop until the job was done. Would absolutely use them again!!!

These three guys from Hercules were great: Remyga, Nick, and John. The team was great, punctual, very friendly, and professional. Pack up and deliver everything with great cares. We are happy with their services. Their boss should treat them well since they are Hercules' greatest asset.

After my first moving company failed to show up, Hercules was more than happy to step up, book quick and get me back on track. The gentlemen showed up promptly, were very polite and got the job done. I am very pleased with the service and would happily recommend them.
