Well I am impressed. The friendly and uncomplicated Hills Car Hire in this review made a very refreshing change from the inward focus of the big rental franchises. This summer when I couldn't find a hybrid vehicle at short notice it was Hills who came to my rescue with a virtually brand new Toyota Yaris. And to my surprise they offered the car at a very basic hire rate, making it good value. I had not driven a Toyota hybrid before and I was blown away that it used hardly any petrol taking us down to the south coast. They also had quite a range of Toyotas to chose from but as far as I am concerned it is the personal touch which places Hills Car Hire head and shoulders above the rest. I had such a great time dealing with them that it is obvious to me that they really do like their customers. Let me give a shout out to Simmone and Valerie at Hills, who I felt were very helpful and both lovely people to deal with.

Rented a car for 2 weeks, good price, everything was great, UNTIL the time for return. Apparently, my hire had started at 3:30 pm. I got a call at 2:33 pm today enquiring if I will be returning the car, OR keeping it for more days. I said I will be returning it, and asked if it would be OK to return about 4:45. I was told this was absolutely fine. No where in this conversation was I informed that I would be charged for an additional day if I were to return the car at that time. Yet, when I returned the car at 4:45, I was charged for an extra day!

This car rental is amazing - the people that run it are first class! They will literally go the extra mile to ensure you have anything you need. New cars, low mileage, kept very clean and rented at unarguably low prices! They will beat any major car rental outlet as they genuinely care and offer a service that is personal and professional. Hired for years from this company. The service and price is so good I decided not to buy a car and continue renting when I need it. I like that they’re honest, much less stressful than hiring with the usual high street rental brands that constantly try to catch you out or upsell insurance.
