To start off I had the clutch replaced on my 2009 Honda civic si in March. I ended up putting a new clutch in after 5,000 miles to support more power and the fact I didn’t trust their mechanics. (Hint I had the correct assumption). This shop neglected to install 2 bell housing bolts for the transmission (bolts that connect the transmission to the engine) and 1 bolt on the transmission mount that supports it by going into the frame rail. They also snapped my knock sensor and claimed it was “fixed” when the sensor was never actually replaced. I had to go and spend $150 on a new sensor when I should not have had to. The throwout bearing used in the car was NOT OEM HONDA and was the poor quality bearing always included with clutch kits. The bearing already had play in it when it was removed. (This bearing would have failed long before the clutch disc wore out). Pictures below of my invoice, missing bolts, and snapped knock sensor. Utter negligence which would have caused issues further down the line. I can't believe they are charging top dollar (I PAID $1700) when they can't even do their job with integrity! Will never be returning with my car again. Their technicians are breaking things and not replacing them and either neglecting to install important bolts or not notifying the customer those bolts are missing (which I would have happily paid the $5-10 a piece they would cost to replace!!).

I'd heard a great deal about JJ's from Reddit, where it's generally spoken about as one of the best auto shops in Jacksonville. Recently, a car of mine wouldn't start and my Dad brought it into a "trusted" auto shop he knew, who was nothing but condescending and impolite, and ended up charging him nearly $300 without addressing the issue or even finding the cause. Annoyed, I had the car towed to JJ's, really just to see if they lived up to their reputation. By the time my car was towed there, it was past their closing time, but they were still kind and respectful as they had the car taken in and squared away. Over the next few weeks, they were nothing but patient as they looked over what could've been the cause, and when they finally did, they were upfront and honest about the state of the car (it couldn't be saved—the engine no longer had compression) and charged us a fair price for the whole ordeal. It's certainly disappointing for us, but I can only be impressed by and gracious to JJ's for their patience regarding the issue. We were even delayed in picking up the car afterwards, completely our fault, but even then they were patient. I haven't been a long-time customer like most of the reviewers here, but I'm definitely looking forward to consulting JJ's again for any future automotive issues. They've earned my business.

This shop is great and extremely professional. I have three cars they work on, never had an issue with their repair work until last week and how they addressed it truly stands for how good they are about customer service. when I came back to share how the work they performed could possibly be a mistake, they did not even question it and completed the additional work free of charge and all they cared about was that I was happy. Let's be honest, mistakes happen in every business and how many times do you feel like the service company either tries to blame something else or not own up to a problem? NOT HERE! They took ownership, fixed the problem in a very timely manner, did not even make me sign a service form or anything ... they just fixed the issue with a smile on their face. This is exactly how a reputable business should work and they exceeded my expectations. I cannot say enough good things about this team and work they do. BTW -- until JJ's, I only used dealerships for auto repair and paid the HIGH repair fees as I did not trust smaller repair centers ... This place you can trust AND save money on your repairs. .

We are going on our 9th year with JJ's, and could not possibly be any more pleased with the consistent service we receive. Their service advisors Ralph and Charles are both very honest and knowledgeable, thus making the experience 100% stress free. Everyone we have referred to them share with us the same sentiments, as to how they were treated. Our last two used car purchases were made out of town, with the provision after bringing the vehicle back to Jacksonville, we would have the vehicle inspected at JJ's, and if they found anything seriously wrong we would be returning the vehicle within a 72 hour window. Both vehicles checked out just fine. On both occasions, I provided the dealerships with access to JJ's reviews, and after reading them both dealerships were fine with our post-purchase inspection stipulation. Unlike large dealerships whereas they regularly pad the service order, that is never the case at JJ's, as they only fix what is needed. No this is not a paid endorsement, but rather a review from a very satisfied customer

JJ's auto care is God sent!! My car had been giving me trouble and I had to get a jump every 3 weeks out of no where. I took it to O'Rileys and found out that I had a bad alternator and a bad battery in a 2015 Sonata with 68,000 miles!! What's the chances of that?? I called Hyundai dealership on Atlantic Blvd and on Southside and the customer service was terrible. No one ever answered the phone. I then did a quick google search and found JJ's. I spoke with Mr. Charles and let him know what was going on with my car. He was genuinely concerned, very professional, and very friendly. To make a long story short, it was a simple problem concerning my battery not being all the way connected to my terminal. He didn't even charge to look at my vehicle! I definitely will be back for oil changes and any other problems I may have with my car. No more going to the dealership for me! Thank you so much Mr. Charles and thank you to the JJ's auto care team!!

Honestly the best and quickest car repair I’ve ever been through! I needed to desperately replace the brakes and rotors on my Chevy Malibu, I called for an estimate (spoke with Ralph), and asked to book an appointment for the next day, he told me if I bring my car in as soon as they’d open and I left it for the day they’d fit me in. I wasn’t expecting for me to get my car back until the next day but they had it done in four hours! Not to mention they charged me half the price the Chevy dealership was going to charge me. Needless to say I will definitely be going back, they were very professional, personable, and honest! I just had to add on to my review from a year ago. I’ve been going here for over a year and every time they don’t disappoint. The customer service & work is consistent, they never try to add on unnecessary services, and they’re honest about what’s going on with my car. They are definitely my go to in car servicing!

After reading all the positive reviews I called to make an appointment for a loud squeaking noise from the front of my vehicle everytime I turned the wheel. The gentleman I spoke with was not very responsive of my issue and told me they are booked two weeks out. I got the feeling this gentleman really didn't care if I made an appointment or not! I asked him when was the available days. He scheduled me and told me I needed to drop off my vehicle for the full day! I have never had a car service shop ask me to do that before they diagnosed the issue! Never! I understand some circumstance my result that a shop will need that extra time to fix your vehicle. After inspection not before. The scheduled date came I decided not to go to JJ's Auto Care. Based on I was not going to drop of my vehicle for a full day and I never got email confirmation of this so called appointment. It's a Shame I didn’t feel JJ's Auto Care really cared.

I was having some starting issues with my Civic, so I did a google search for a good repair shop and JJ's came up in the top results. I'm very glad I chose JJ's as the treatment I received was homely and welcoming with a fast turnaround time. Prices were very reasonable. You can definitely tell they have a passion for working on cars, and that was definitely true in my case. The issue turned out to be a worn starter motor, and they replaced it with a new OEM (Denso) one. All fine and good until a few days later, when it started making a grinding noise. I took the car to JJ's and they indicated it was a defective unit (pretty rare for Denso). The staff apologized profusely and started looking into the issue immediately, they even paid for a Lyft out of pocket for transportation for me. I want to personally thank Charles and the other staff members for treating me like family! I definitely recommend JJ's

I love JJ's. We service two of our cars with the team there, usually with Charles who is as affable and delightfully cynical as they come, which is EXACTLY what I want in my service agent. My cars aren't great and I know it but they keep me on the road and have always been as straightforward and honest with me, which is a rare commodity in our species these days. The prices they quote me are fair but truly I have no way of knowing but it "smells" and "feels" right. No high pressure sales, no up-charging just car fixing and honest advice with prompt communication. They do all the little things right like windshield sticker reminders, clean bathrooms and a hospitable waiting room with coffee/soda and snacks. The only gripe I have is that the television channel is always on some daytime talkshow targeted at the post-menopausal demographic...but that's why I have ear buds and a tablet!

Very honest shop. That alone is one of the most crucial factors when finding your self a good mechanic. I took my Tacoma in because the engine wouldn’t go above 2500 rpm. I couldn’t figure out why, so I took it to JJ’s Auto Care. They spent two hours of their time trying to figure out what was wrong with the truck, and did not charge me a penny because they were upfront and honest with me, and told me that they honestly couldn’t figure out the issue. They were professional, personable, honest, and I assume knowledgeable. In their defense, I think the reason they couldn’t figure out the problem is because it was some complex computer issue that required instruments that only Toyota had access to. I do practically all of the work on my vehicles my self, so I don’t go to mechanics very often. But if I ever need a mechanic in the future, these guys are number one on my list.

There are very nice men that work here!! I love the way they do business and are not pushy whatsoever. The inspection on your vehicle that they send to you, which is fantastic, gives you the option to get done what they find may need to be done or not. They keep in touch with and are readily available for you at all times. The shop office and waiting area is unbelievably clean and smells very good. I will be taking our vehicles there from here on out. The location is right off of 295 on Beach so it is conveniently located. We also knocked off our brush guard on the concrete stopper and they gladly came out and did a quick fix for us without bother. Thanks guys! Keep up the good work.

Worthless. Lied about being able to handle the very simple repair and diagnostic check to get us to drop our car off, then told us to take it somewhere else for the simple repair but came up with a $1300 estimate for other repairs (which was cut in half when we refused the battery and brakes) They lied about being able to get the parts they claimed we needed when a simple Google searched proved otherwise. Barely communicated what steps they were taking, when they did it was incomplete and vague. When the final repair was finished, they used less parts and cheaper parts and then charge more for labor somehow. I would never recommend anyone to bring their vehicle here.

I respect what the owner said in his response. I will agree there's a possibility your technician is telling the truth. Here's what I propose. Would your technician be willing to have a sit down with the service advisor from my dealership so we can get to the bottom of this? After all, both of you can't be telling the truth? Someone's not being honest, and I would very much like to know who! I'm very well aware of the general reputation of mechanics and dealerships as being dishonest, trying to suggest unnecessary repairs, among other things. If you're open to having a conversation, I'll challenge my dealership to do the same, and see where we go from there.

I have a 1996 Explorer V8. After looking for something I could buy new to replace it I finally decided I would rather just keep the Explorer. It's been pretty much trouble free for 25 years and there is nothing to indicate that is going to change any time soon. I took it to JJ's auto care with instructions to pretty much inspect it an fix what needed to be fixed. After about $1500 in repairs it drives so much better. They showed me all of the parts and hoses they replaced. Most of the parts were the original 25 year old parts. They did a great job and I'll be happy to have them as my go to mechanics to keep my 25 year old vehicle going for a few more years.

Honest company! This is a family business & beyond HONEST!!!! They were so kind, helpful & what they say is the truth, which now a days is very hard to find in the auto business. I was told about the company, I had just lost my husband & was worried if I was making the correct decision. I’m so glad I listened to who recommended them & my gut & so I called them. I had total faith in them when the minute JJ himself answered the phone & Gary is wonderful & kept me up to date with my truck. Finding a Good auto shop can be a challenge. Being born and raised in Jacksonville and spending many decades of using dealerships, franchises, and locally owned auto shops, this is the first time I've felt compelled to write a review recommending a auto service center. The moment you first speak with a staff member you can sense they're committed to exceptional customer service. I can honestly say...JJ's not only met my expectations, they exceeded them. This was my first visit at this business and was not disappointed by the recommendation. Charles was gracious to fit my car in for small maintenance on a busy day. The work was done for a fair price (much better than what the dealer had charged me in the past) and the staff was very kind, personable, and appreciative of my business. The lounge area was decorated with pictures of the staff, which made me feel very good about how they appreciated each other like family too. I felt right at home and will not take my car anywhere else from now on. I would highly recommend this business to my friends and others.

I went in for a simple diagnostic which I received. They called US with updates instead of the other way around, and they were very timely! We utilized the early bird box which was an awesome option since we wouldn’t be able to drop off our vehicle during normal business hours. I got all questions answered and never felt rushed or like an inconvenience. EXCELLENT customer service… especially the guy at the front and on the phone, Gary! He even took the time to help me reset my radio and navigation which I would normally have been referred to Acura for by another mechanic. Thanks so much!

I live in Kansas City and my daughter was in need of car repairs in Jacksonville. I went to google and found this company. I called and told them I needed this car to be road ready so we could drive it back to Kansas City. I am happy to report that we drove the car home without any incident after JJ's repaired it. My daughter met someone there that said they had been going to this business for 20 years. She also said this was a clean facility and everyone was very nice to her. My AC stopped working randomly so I made an appointment online and was able to bring my truck in within just a couple days. Everyone at JJ's was wonderful to work with! My truck was being a particularly difficult patient but they persevered and got the job done. It took a little longer than I expected but that was because they had to make sure they had the right parts so I appreciated the attention to detail. I felt like the labor cost was fair and will go back next time I need anything done on my truck. So thankful to have found honest mechanics.

JJs service is above and beyond! They’re technicians are professional, skilled, thorough, and HONEST! On my recent visit, they let me know that the car was in such good shape that I didn’t need anything—even the oil change was too early! I was so pleased by their integrity that I asked them to change the oil ANYWAY! I wanted to pay SOMETHING! :-) As others have shared the waiting area is so bright, clean, and welcoming that I WANT to stay and wait for my car. I moved from NH and needed to find a good, reliable, honest auto shop for my 2006 Lexus. As a young woman, it’s hard to not have trust issues when it comes to car mechanics but this shop is awesome. The people at JJ’s are phenomenal! They kept my 2003 Subaru Forester running well for 17 years. Now I have a Nissan Altima, and when I took it to the dealership for a recall, I was told I needed brake service. jj"s use to do good work but now seems to be all about making money and ripping off customers wasting they're time. I had to bring in a vehicle 4 times due to them not being able to diagnose the problem .Last time I told the" owner" master mechcanic what it might be he dismissed it and said it was too much work to try to repair . it ended up being the issue ,sad when you have to tell a master mechanic whats wrong with your car ,thats just one example

Took my car in for an emissions problem. It came back “fixed” but a couple weeks later THE SAME PART went out. We brought it back in and they fixed it at no cost to us. They installed an original Honda part and called us around mid afternoon the same day to pick it up! JJs staff is always friendly and accommodating. I waited about a week to write this because everything is always "great" when you first pick up your car, you write a review then things go downhill. Well not in this case. I thought I had a starter problem but JJ diagnosed it as a battery problem. They could have said it was both and charged me for both but they were honest and saved me over $600. Honesty keeps customers and I will continue to be one and I highly recommend them.

The staff at JJs are superb. I brought them my car and they quickly diagnosed the problem. They also provided a fair repair cost and quick repair time. So many auto repair shops will add on unnecessary repairs instead of just fixing the problem you would like corrected - not these guys, they are trustworthy and honest! Great workmanship as well. Went in for a wheel alignment, made appointment, they took me on time had me out in about an HR or so. Told me about my vehicle and if I had any issues. Afterwards I drove and it felt amazing. The shop was clean and people were professional. Highly recommend Edit: well I can back again for more work and I still highly recommend these guys. I would never go anywhere else. Guys are so honest and well mannered it's amazing.

2004 Honda A/C stopped giving cold air. JJ tech determined compressor operating at 50%, leak in system and shrader valves on last legs. Replaced bad items in one day and works great now. Discussion with tech after had right answers and even complimented my personal instructions posted behind glove box on how to change air filter which he checked while there.

This is your honest work mechanic. You bring your vehicle in. they tell you what is wrong and give you a very fair pricing. they will not undercut themselves. because they offe warranty on all their work. I don't have to use JJ often but when they are needed. I can drop my car worry free that no new charges will come up without then letting me know.

I have brought my 1993 300zx to JJ's on several occasions and each time the staff was friendly and helpful. They don't try to sell you parts and services that you don't need, and they do quality work. I highly recommend stopping by. My Z recently recieved new oil, spark plugs, and valve cover gaskets. It's running great thanks to JJ's!
