I called non emergency about a suspicious person on my ring camera with a baseball bat, who also parked on the street blocking our cars from leaving the driveway. I was told to take the footage to the police station at shoal creek after talking with non- emergency. The lady working the front desk looked inconvenienced the moment I walked (maybe because I interrupted her stuffing her face with a foot long) either way, maybe not the right job for her if she can’t multi-task, I didn’t even have a chance to explain the situation before she decided she was going to be condescending and rude, for absolutely no reason. The officer working was at least nice, my sister is an officer and it’s embarrassing to see that these are the type of people they hire to be receptionists for a place I feel should be more considerate when dealing with the public.
I have NEVER had a good experience here. Anytime I had to make a serious report, or even just yesterday when I called to let them know about a stoplight being out and no one was treating it like a four-way stop, me almost getting into a bad wreck with my 7 month old in the car, they acted like it wasn't their problem. It's called public service. I reported the violation of an Order of Protection, and they acted like they couldn't do anything and acted like they were protecting the other person, which in reality, if something were to happen to me, or my son, it would have been on them. That was said by a police officer in a different department. They need to work on their people skills and listening skills.
Today there was a wreck on 169 highway around 5pm. A man with red hair went to take pictures of the damages and one of your officers yelled at him “Don’t you take those pictures, mother fkr!” First of all, I realize that today it is hot as heck and that one of the North Kansas City officers was recently killed and a lot of people are upset. There was no need to be that hostile after two people just went through an accident on the highway. And before you try to say “it wasn’t our officers.” Oh okay, so KCK police were over here? Blue cars, says KCPD on the side. There was absolutely no need for the hostility that I witnessed from one of your officers today. Do better.
Filed a police report weeks ago about a theft that took place. Name, phone number, and place of work of the assailant is known, as well as video surveillance of it happening and a clear photo of his face. They refuse to get our item back from the thief. We have the serial number of the item proving it is ours but nothing has been done. On top of that, Karen Madden was extremely rude when I was trying to add more evidence to my case. She was condescending and unprofessional. I just want justice!
They TRY to throw their weight around but doesn't work for me. Now I'm auditing everywhere I see them and waiting for them to just ONE time now to harass me so I can put them on blast! I'm a caregiver and they show up, 4 of them to do a "well check" on my patient, I advised them "If she's not well I will call an ambulance & don't come back here" door closed. 4 cops? Scare me? Absolutely NOT!
So I had a break into my car. The passenger window was smashed. I can see the object they used. When I call to report said item they say we're not going to need that and assume I touched it already like I'm not aware itll ruin the evidence which is why i called in the first place. Yall are Terrible and Lazy.
Pretty sad when you call the cops to help defend you and your children from an out of control abusive teenage boy and they say they wont do anything to help. Way to teach children you are here to protect and serve.
Sergeant Price pulled up behind me when I was stuck with a flat tire on 152 and he had Highway assistance on scene in 5 minutes, spare tire on in another 5 minutes. Wow! That's what I call seevice!!
be careful please,Generally Very polite . They are understaffed and normally very busy people. Doing best as can with resources , i feel. Unfortunately . Little help.
The police were very polite, the cell was a little cold though. Would give three stars but the tv outside my cell had no sounds and had to read the captions.
Proud to be with KCPD
Great people
