"This has been my favorite pastry restaurant for the past 25 years! I live on the east coast but travel back to New Mexico as often as I can to visit family and make sure to ALWAYS make a stop here! Since I was little my favorite pastries have always been the pink and white petite fortes, but with (the amazing) Terry’s help and suggestions, I have now tried the quiches, the almond pockets, the sugar cookies, and the wonderful coffee! My latest visit to Le Chantilly left me feeling such gratitude for Terry and the rest of the great people that work there, that I was compelled to make a declaration about it"

I'm opening this review with the caveat that I may update all information and opinions after the actual wedding cake is created and consumed. However, I just couldn't wait for the event that brought us to Le Chantilly for planning to sing their praises. First for the service, we arrived by appointment for a planning session for our wedding cake with no idea how to go about design. The baker/designer brought us morning drinks and walked us through design options and the array of flavors that met our exceedingly tight criteria. She did all this with gentleness, smiles, and infinite patience in regards to our frankly odd requests and Raz's inability to focus and be still after a healthy sampling of high-sugar wedding confectionery. Among our odd requests is a top tier of fruitcake on the wedding cake since tradition dictates that we keep it for our first anniversary, and no other cake can survive that duration of waiting. Our Baker didn't bat an eye, she just gathered one of the freshly made fruitcakes and cut us a sample to taste. I'll be a monkey's uncle if that wasn't the best fruitcake we've had in the last 20 years! It was almost impressive enough for us to trade out the other layers for it, but we figure we'll keep the best for ourselves on the day... On our way out, we stopped for savory pastries. Savory pastries are hard to find in Albuquerque for some reason, and we were joyful to have found them. We're doubly joyful to have eaten some truly wonderful meat, cheese, egg, and even spinach-filled croissant and puff-pastry. Even if our wedding cake isn't right out of our dreams, we'll be back for more of those pastries!

Hopefully, to connect more people to the love that they create in their café, through the outstanding food and service. A special thanks to Terry for making me feel so welcome and for being down-right awesome! I look forward to seeing you all again soon!
My grandfather is on hospice and has not had an appetite at all for the past few weeks. He’s already a picky eater to begin with. My mother has cooked him every meal he has requested and he only takes one or two bites before he feels done with it. I got him an eclair from Le Chantilly. He had never had an eclair from here before. This morning my mom texted me letting me know that he ate the entire thing and said “I could LIVE off of these things!” Knowing that he experienced the joy of eating again after weeks of not being able to enjoy anything makes me so happy. Thank you. I’ll be back for more! I’d also like to note that when picking out pastries, the girls working the counter were so nice and patient with me. I was stressed out about my grandpa and I really wanted to find something he would enjoy. They helped out a lot!
I have frequented this establishment for years and always have had impeccable service. Today, Saturday March 20, 2021 at 2:20pm I went to buy my lunch to go. I ordered my food and waited for another customer to finish paying. I asked the girl if she by chance warned my quiche she said no. I asked would you mind warming it please as I was going to eat it in my car. She became so irate talking my food. Slamming the plate and dropping my food in it then Slamming the microwave door 2 times. Are you kidding me? All because I wanted my food heated up. I Really don't need your Sparky little 20 year old attitude. Completely unacceptable. Huge disappointment with this establishment that I have been a dedicated customer 2 for probably 20 years.
I Went there today with my sister around 3:00 , not a pleasant experience. We were the only sit down customers, but had trouble finding a clean table. The server finally bought us menus wearing gloves he was using to handle food at the front. No customer service knowledge , no smile or interaction beyond asking for our order. They had no soup, & only one choice of Kisch. Food was bland , & when I went & paid @ the counter , adding a tip, it was the other staff member who said bye & have a nice day. I have eating there before awhile ago, & this was completely opposite from that visit. It is sad to see a business that has been around awhile, start slipping on the high standards & quality of food & service it has always maintained.
From the outside, Le Chantilly looks like a random spot in an unassuming strip mall. The reality is, they have AMAZING french pastries, a friendly and welcoming staff, and a very relaxed atmosphere to meet up with a friend over coffee or tea or grab something to go. Do you need alt milk to go in your coffee? They've got it. Looking for an interesting tea blend to sip with your croissant? They have that too. My go-to pastries are the Alexander Tart and the Apricot Twist, but friends I've come here with also enjoy their lunches. Though principally French in influence, there are of course a few New Mexican traditions that have snuck their way into the menu. If you're in the ABQ area, definitely check them out!
I have been coming to this place for many years. Always satisfied with the quality of food and service. The owner herself is typically is there every morning to make fresh new delicious offerings. Anywhere from wonderful pastries to delicious quiches and sandwiches. Open for breakfast and lunch both are wonderful. Let's not forget that if you enjoy coffee, they also have wonderful cappuccinos and lattes. I have always enjoyed this place I hope that you get a chance to come and experience their food and hospitality. Next time I visit I will try to get some photos for you all to see their wonderful offerings.
Excellent in all ways. Same fare and then some. It took me back, way back in my past, to where LeChantilly was born. Downtown Albuquerque next to the office tower including a floor or two for USWest and Qwest and then the Hyatt hotel tower. Roughly 30-40 years ago. Still just as excellent and way more to boot!!! Those of us working on those 2 floors were so sad when they had to move. 1st time to have visited the new location after all these years. Best stuffed croissants ever.
This place has a decent selection of goodies and staff is friendly and helpful. I’ve not eaten there, just purchased some pastries. While I like their products, my main issue is that their icing is WAY too sweet. It over powers the taste of the pastries. Their pecan rolls are the best since they don’t use icing on it. Too many of the other products have too much icing on them, which detracts from the overall taste because they are too sweet. I prefer a more balanced taste.
The atmosphere is very nice, but the sandwich that we ordered was rather disappointing. They had only one type of bread in stock, the amount of meat and cheese on the sandwich was minimal; it was uninspiring. In addition the server seemed rushed, even though the restaurant was pretty empty. I'll try them again and order a different meal in hopes that I just got them on a bad day.
I've been a Le Chantilly fan for many years. Ever since I came here with my mom I've been coming back for more. The pumpkin muffin was DELICIOUSO. Mmm. Stop by to see their window Halloween decorations and grab yourself a pumpkin shaped cookie or mini bat cake. Chocolate lovers this cake is for you. Can't wait for more. Curious to see what they do with the interior.
Last visit, I made sure to ask if We order at the table or at the register, I was told We could have a seat and someone will come and take our food order, that didn't happen, I had to go up to register and place our food order. Our quiche came and was cold and our water was never refilled. Maybe, they forgot We were there. Too bad won't be returning.
Laura is amazing. Her cakes are beyond amazing and taste like heaven! Here are pics of her Princess Cake that I ordered for a birthday. It’s fit for a Queen to enjoy! Highly recommend!! Grab her frozen meals to go, too. Her spinach lasagna is absolutely delicious! You won’t regret eating anything from her lovely bakery/cafe! …
It's hit or miss here, often times the butter used tastes like the refrigerator, yuck. With their prices, it would be better if the butter was fresh and NOT left open to get fridge taste. The staff is also good at times, not so much other visits. They run out of alot of stuff, or they just have scaled down on pastry quantity?
Decent place for a quick sweet bite in Albuquerque. Prices are definitely higher than they should be (average of $5 per dessert, which is about the same price you pay for the best desserts in Paris). Came here mainly to support small local businesses, which I’m glad I did, but nothing special.
What a disappointment. We paid way to much for two desserts today. We opened the.box and everything was sticky like the wrappers were used. We literally just bought them and opened it it in the car the were so soggy and the frosting tasted like gritty sugar paste. Sad not going again.
They were extremely helpful in making a decision because they do have quite a variety

SUCH a fulfilling way to shop local I have been going here for a decade or more! There's no better place in Albuquerque for fresh homemade pastries... trust me, I've looked. Also the staff is really wonderful, the place is really comfy and the quality is always consistent..
The staff is so friendly and the atmosphere is amazing everything is baked fresh every day and taste so delicious i never been to a pastry shop before and let me tell you definitely was worth it i will continue to come and tell others you wont be disappointed !
Loved Le Chantilly. The service was great, felt like I was treated like a friend and better yet, the green chile turky croissant and desert we got was Phenomenal and filling. Can't wait to share this cafe/bakery with friends.
Horrible wait times resulting from personnel and staffing issues. They describe their pastries as fine. That is not the case and they're very overpriced. If you're in this neighborhood, go to La quiche def not here
Can't say enough about this place. A meal to go in each croissant. Carné Asada or a sweet raspberry w cheese and a hot coffee. The staff is always there with a kind words. Pre covid was the spot for breakfast.
Really cute and cozy place. Small deli with authentic French pastries and lunch items. Staff is friendly and I can enjoy a cup of café cream while waiting for the bike shop (2 or 3 doors down) to open.
Really cute, quaint place. Lots of baked goodies. Delicious green chili & egg croissant- yum! Excellent customer service. Some accessibility but also tight seating area (can make the space accessible).
Perfect wedding cake! Amazing flavors and only 1 extra slice at the end of the night. Cuts cleanly and was soo pretty. Reasonable price for the amazing gourmet quality. Thanks Le Chantilly!
1st time there, I ordered the chicken tarragon 1/2 sandwich with a cup of soup. Very good. Good coffee, a great wait person. Quiet. Lots of homemade goodies. Very fair price. …
Overpriced, stale pastry, odd taste (put coffee flavor in carrot cake, my buttercream tasted like nasty fridge too), and I was ignored by three servers before anyone would help me.
Super friendly, beats any donut shop in town for pastries. They also have the most fabulous quiche!!! Thank you ladies for the great pastries and conversation this morning.
Had the framboise blanc for our wedding and it was the best cake I have ever tasted in my entire life. Hands down!

Absolutely adorable Cafe. The experience was excellent and the food was delicious. The coffee was extraordinary in taste & serving size. We'll be back soon!
Love this place! Come in often to grab goodies from the dessert case. Had a spinach quiche and the honey bee coffee this morning, was very tasty.
Great overall, but I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve wanted to pick up something here on a Sunday and realized they’re always closed.
Shop will close 3pm almost everyday. Bought dark chocolate cake. Perfect! Less sweet and compact of the taste. Cost 16$ for 4 pax size
Best pastries in Albuquerque. Their chocolate croissants are far superior to anyone else's. Everything is of high quality and fresh.
High-quality, scratch-made delicious sweet & savory pastries, good coffee, daily lunch specials, friendly staff.
Very cute, French cafe type decor. Food very good. Worth a look. Apparently it's been there for about 20 years.
This is really a nice bakery! Eat in or take out, very friendly, very clean, and has a good variety of treats.
Good roast beef sandwhich and salad. Great looking pastries and baked goods. Will be back for pastries.
Very consistent on the bakery good. Always try to get the day olds.
Best danishes in Albuquerque. Well worth the drive to visit.
