BAD EXPERIENCE ALERT I have been eating from here for almost a year now. I must say they have one of the best sausage rolls. The owner couple is fantastic and so friendly. However I have noticed they are bit micer when it comes to providing enough serviettes. They are small sized napkins and extremely thin ply. Its a mess as thier sausage rolls are flaky and its tough to eat without too much mess falling down. I have been adjusting though due to the good nature of the couples. Today I was served by a lady, looked like their daughter who was subtely arrogant to me. When I was asked for more tisues, she misunderstood and said to me " Be patient, I am already taking it for you" I clarified saying " Oh I was just asking for more " she said " I have already given you 3". I said why I needed more (size of napkin, how thin it is and flaky sausage) . She asked me ' how many more you need. I said 2. And guess what she gave me 1 and said total 4 is there and thats enough. I was amused thinking how can she decide how many serviettes I need. I just shaked my head, smiled and walked away She was subtle in her actions and I just smiled. But these are the small things that matter and I am thankful I didnt have a verbal fight. I will still keep going to the place to see the old man and lady, but if she is at the counter, I will give it a pass. The 5 stars is only for the hard working couple who has made so many customers and I dont want to spoil their hard work by giving a low rating. Accept this as a constructive feedback....

By far the BEST spinach & feta roll in greater Brisbane/Gold Coast. For the last 8 years I’ve been commuting as far up as North Lakes and as far down as Burleigh Heads and (arguably) the most essential part of my morning routine is finding a place to pick up a spinach & feta roll. I’ll spare you the full description of these absolutely phenomenal rolls but it’s important to note that what really sets them ahead of the rest is not only how the team finds the perfect balance of soft and crunchy but how they make them with all real ingredients. Never before have I had a spinach & feta roll that wasn’t either blended up spinach soup or dry and burned inside. On the days I don’t want to fall out of bed at 4am and head into the city, it’s the prospect of grabbing one of these rolls that keeps me going. Thank you Lena & team for your baking skills and your incredible service.

We ordered a cake from here. It tastes lovely, the decorations could be better. I paid when ordered, however, when picking up the cake, the owner got confused and asked me to pay again. I explained that I already paid and even had a receipt from her, and told her the exact dollar note I gave and how much change she gave me back. She said Ok but still looked dubious. The experience made me uncomfortable so I probably won't go back again.

Placed an order for next day collection over the phone which was very easy. The lady was super friendly and patient with all the questions I had. Lovely customer service in store as well. Orderer normal sausage rolls plus spinach and feta ones which everyone loved. Didn't get to try anything else but will definitely come back again …

Stopped by for some brekky. I had a cottage mince pie, and a slice of carrot cake. The pie was amazing and tasted so fresh! The carrot cake was equally amazing and tasted as if it was just made. This place was so good.. that I ordered a coffee and a cheeky chocolate cannoli and both did not disappoint. This place was tops!

One of the few places in the city that sells coffee at a reasonable price. Regrettably I only discovered this place just a month before it’s closing down! Also their cannolis are really nice.

Steak and Pepper Pie

Absolutely amazing coffee and baked goods. Lena and her staff are always smiling and always provide amazing customer service. It’s an absolute pleasure to be a regular customer here I couldn’t recommend it more. PS try the almond biscuits they taste like lemonade and go perfectly with your morning coffee

Having been overseas for a month I was hanging for a good Aussie pie and coffee. Coffee was great and the Pepper Steak pie had heaps of flavour and pepper (which I like). Now the Roll Shop is closed down I’ve found my new go to for lunch when in the City Monday to Friday.

I visited there today. First time. Talk about fresh, hot, and good service and reasonable prices. Great little family run business. I WILL DEFINITELY be back again. Nothing less than 5 stars to lena's bakehouse. Come check them out at post office square eatery.

When I travel to the City, my first stop is Lena's Bakehouse, always good.

Beef and Mushroom Pie

Simply perfect. As a Kiwi living in Canada on a business trip to Brisbane it hit the spot for the perfect bakery food I have been craving for years. It’s tucked away in a corner underground in the post office square centre. Seek it out. It’s wonderful.

A delightful change for lunch. Visited Lena's on the 20th July served by an extremely friendly woman. Wanted something savory for lunch instead of my normal takeaway. The homemade sausage roll was just what the doctor ordered. 10/10 …

Lena and Peter are such dedicated owners. They make great coffee, pizzas and wonderful homemade treats. They’re so friendly and welcoming to everyone. If your heading into Post Office Square this cafe is a must stop. Yummy …

I wasn't expecting much, and there was a little wait for my pizza but it was TOTALLY worth it. It was some of the nicest pizza I've had in Brisbane, it was like real italian stuf. Will come again when I'm craving some good pizza.

Conveniently located and the service was lovely. The coffee was made as requested and tasted great. Extra hot and lovely. I also loved the variety in food options. So tempting but l stuck with just coffee for now.

Been here quite a few times for a quick an easy breakfast while in the city. The small team are incredibly kind and make awesome coffee. Absolutely love the cottage mince pie and the deserts are excellent aswell.

Just had the best Chicken and Mushroom pie from Lena's. Been in Australia for 14 years from the UK and one of my staples was a Chicken and Mushroom Pukka Pie and this was the closest I have ever come. Perfect.

Incredibly kind and helpful owner! I put in a large order at the end of the day but they were so lovely about it. They took the time to figure out what I wanted and why, and did it for a great price to boot

Good pies and fast, friendly service, but the public seating area outside gets hot during the day when the sun is above with nowhere to sit under aircon. Nearby public bathroom out of soap.

We've ordered some sausage rolls at work and they were well baked , soft, and fresh. I recommend this joint for anyone who would like to experience an old school baker's experience.

Lovely little bakery with delicious pies with the best priced coffee in all of Brisbane! The place is run by such nice owners. Just have to get onto trying the desserts and pizza!

Bought their steak and mushroom pie this morning and it was absolutely perfect. Flaky top, amazing filling and the crust was to die for. It was a great start to my morning!

My sausage roll was raw inside. Lukewarm mushy mince. The lady who served me was lovely… but naturally I won’t be returning given the food wasn’t even cooked.

Very few bakeries in a city, Was extremely happy to have found a bakery that knows it's craft, couldn't fault the amazing pies, definitely worth the walk.

Best pies i had. Pastry flaky tasted like home-made. Cherry pie so delicious and great coffea. Very busy in the morning looks like the locals go there.

Coffee great. Food excellent. Proper Italian coffee made by Italian. Italian coffee beans. No where better to get a drink and bite to eat.

Delicious - I ate a pepper steak pie and it was lovely. A little on the expensive side, but it was worth it for the excellent quality.

Always enjoy getting lunch here when I am in the City. The Cottage and Lamb and Rosemary Pies are absolutely delicious!

Slices and muffins always tastes good and pleasant couple to deal with. Lena is helpful with ad-hoc catering orders.

Always go for staff morning tea's and the food and the service is fantastic! Love the sausage rolls and quiche's :)
