Awful from start to finish. Firstly lets start on the one positive - the 1 star represents how cheap this hire was. I cannot fault that this was possibly the cheapest van hire in Bristol... but at what cost? 1) I tried hiring a van 3 weeks before my move date - they accepted the booking. I phoned a week beforehand to double check everything, only to find the booking hadn't been made. Thankfully there was a spare vehicle. 2) The van i received was so beat up with dents, i could not open the rear door. Problematic when you are moving long items. 3) The van then broke down after 1 hour of driving. I was then told by the 'engineer' to "just pump the clutch a few times mate, it some time sdoes that". 4) After the sh1t show above, i was then threaten to be taken to a small claim court for a fine that was done a month before my rental booking. All in all, these guys are cheap and *may* get you from a to b. But what is an extra £10 p/day for better hire with another company, when it comes to the above head ache?

What you want from a van hire company is good prices and people you can trust and accomandating. Fellows opened up earlier than normal on Sunday to accomandate me, I left my wallet in the van when I returned (they sent it back with nothing missing) and they returned the deposit with no issues (albeit slightly late but given the trustworthiness on returning my wallet I'll forgive them!) Used them once in the early 1990s when they were near Bristol Airport and use them in 2023 when I needed a van to move furniture when clearing my parents house.

Booked the van by phone call to Sam and arranged a weekend pick up at 9am. Large Van given was very clean and well maintained. Had the van for just one day and returned on Sunday morning. No issues, first class drive and the cheapest rental van could find. Will definitely use Lux again and highly recommend this firm. Really professional and helpful. 5 stars, thank you Lux for your great service, perfect.

Hired a Ford Transit van from Lux Hire at short notice. Sam was super helpful answering all my queries both by phone and text very promptly and meeting us early on Saturday morning for the pick up. The van was in excellent condition and well maintained. I would definitely recommend Lux Hire and will be using them for any car or van hire requirements in future.

I hired a last minute van from Lux Hire and they were great with us! The van itself had no issues at all and it was a good drive. They were flexible with the times and even waited for us when we were late to return the van, great customer service from Sam and Joe we'd definitely use Lux again so i highly recommend them. Friendly to deal with and accommodating last minute changes to the rental period which we also needed to do. Competitively priced and no fuss deposit return.

Booked a Ford Luton at last minute on a recommendation. Sam was super helpful and accommodating, and answered straight away when I had queries. The van was spot on, very new and good condition. Van was also a bit cheaper than alternative hire places.

Hired a van, drove out to pick up! no van! no staff! no one answers the phone! With the days loss of earnings for the pair of us to do a workshop move left extremely frustrated! Would not recommend at all!
