Unethical service! Promises you to take care of your belongings, by keeping them covered, but with what! One ratty rag for all the furniture! I was told that I didn't have to empty the drawers, they would take care of everthing.I actually never ever seen such abuse! Such as breaking a wheel off a VERY soliid box of thick laminated wood that had survived many moves without a dent. 2 cheap mirrors "decapitated" that I wasn'tattached to, one bedroom dresser missing a chunk at bottom of one side. The other dresser with a leg off that was pushed back into place wobblingly before finally setting it down. At the end, the contract is placed before you with no time to go and inspect everything as they have to be somewhere else pronto. The boys, and they WERE boys! Worked hard, but they were small, and it really was a big job. Really too much for these two young men. Two large plastic moving bins were left on the floor of a very small washroom that you had to force the door ajar and climb over. AND, that is the revue the company deserves. I give the one star for the two young men that worked so hard. The company does NOT deserve a star! I was asked to delete this review because it could damage the company's reputation, but I cannot because I wrote the truth about my incredible experience.

Professional service. Arrived after last minute cancelation because hired company couldn't perform the service. Had to remove a star, because the guy asked for my phone to direct me to the review section, and then proceeded to give himself 5 stars. Also, I appreciate the last minute service they provided. The original movers hired were from Get Movers, but the trailer they had couldn't be maneuvered into our apartment's parking. Facing cancellation, I went with the alternative of hiring Metro Movers offered by Get Movers, and they arrived at noon, 3 hours after the scheduled arrival time. All good. Metro Movers showed with 3 people, so the rate went from the quoted $599 for 2 for 3 hours to 699 for 3 hours... additional amount per hour after that. Move was done at 3:45... charged 1128.87 in total. I appreciate the move, they all did a great job. Sticker shock is a hell of a thing though, and that was not what was quoted. I was helped out of a jam, but it cost me an extra $400. Taking the cake though was the original 5 star review the guy gave himself... probably would've done 4 myself to account for sticker shock, and the bail out... but honestly shouldn't have needed bailing out in the first place since I booked the move a month and a half in advance.

Worst movers I’ve ever hired. It took them 6 hours to do my move from a small 1 bedroom apartment and into a house. And that was with an additional person. 3 of them, 6 hours for a small apartment. I don’t even know how that was possible. Oh yeah they did take a break for an hour and half, without informing me, and I was charged for it. None of my furniture was wrapped correctly, and none of it made it intact, all of them with minor impact damage or missing feet or stuff like that. They were not even able to put my desk back together, and my bed fell apart in the middle of the night a couple weeks later. I also gave them instructions on one street to avoid on the way because it was going to be too bumpy and it was going to break my stuff. The driver did confirm that it was crazy bumpy when they were driving on it with the truck. This whole things was a waste of time and money, now I have to replace a bunch of stuff, none of which is covered by their insurance because of course at first it looks fine if it’s all in one piece. Go find different movers, honestly. Edit: No I will not email you. I see how you guys only have 5 star reviews. I'm not going to accept a partial refund to delete my review. Shame on you for even doing that.

I highly recommend Metropolitan Movers Ottawa. I recently used Metropolitan Movers Ottawa to move from Kanata to Spencerville. They were the lowest quote I received and although I was really nervous (I was with the idea of any mover after hearing stories and reviews from multiple moving companies) I decided to take a risk and book the move with Metropolitan Movers Ottawa due to the cost. I had everything boxed and disassembled. Metropolitan Movers Ottawa were friendly to talk to, very prompt at responding. They followed up via email, text and phone call leading up to the big day. They even offered a third guy the day before the move. We had friends helping so we didn't take the offer but I thought that was amazing. The movers arrived within the specified time frame. The driver parked well. They were very nice and did they're utmost to take care in wrapping, watching walls, floors, etc. The unload at the new destination went just as great. We went over the quoted time but the quoted hourly rate was applied at the honored price. I would recommend them to anyone I know after having experienced such a great move using Metropolitan Movers Ottawa.

Had this company move a bedroom and kitchen tables into my Uhaul. Was quoted a flat rate of $560 for three hours. We set the meeting time at noon and the movers showed up at 1:07 pm. The majority of the move was completed by 2:25 pm with only a few items remaining, at which point the movers told me they were going for a "smoke" break. I decided to complete virtually the balance of the move myself and the movers finally came back at 2:50 pm. Move was completed before 3 pm. I was then presented a bill and the mover highlighted the "tip" area. Decided to give a $40 tip to round it off at $600 although they worked less than two hours of the three hour minimum for a flat rate. The mover then filled in the balance of the bill with an end time of 3:11 to go past the three hours, even though they were over an hour late, and charged me $630. They took advantage of my generosity with agreeing to a three hour flat rate for a move that took under two hours and may tip. When I argued the mover told me he only works there and his boss told him what to do. I'm not buying it. The company has zero integrity and acts completely unethically.

Update: 4 months later I'm still having nightmares about this move. Please steer clear of this mess of a company. Staff were very nice and were on time. Coordinator was also very available. Other than that, I wish I could say something positive about this company. Excruciatingly slow. Packers did not communicate with movers, causing so much delay. Terrible packing. I had to tell them to wrap everything and to write down content/room on each box. Movers fought in public. OMG so slow. Almost seemed like the movers did not want to work. No masks. No floor covering. We paid $2500 and honestly this move was not worth more than $1000. So much time wastage and zero accountability. On purpose they would go 1 or 2 minutes over the hour and charge an extra 1/2 hour. Just terrible. Do yourself a favour and call any other company. Can't see how a moving company can get any worse.

We were a bit disappointed with our moving experience. The movers were quite careless with our boxes - they paid no attention to the the boxes labeled as fragile, they placed boxes marked as "heavy" on top of boxes marked "crystal" and they placed boxes upside down and sideways when unpacking the truck. They also took apart our furnature and gave us most of the hardware back but not all of it. I found several screws on the floor after the move and I have no idea where the nuts and bolts for my bed frame are. For the speed at which they moved, which wasn't very fast, and for the cost I expected a bit more care to be taken. They also asked me to tip them which I found to be a bit tacky.

For me the experience I had with Metropolitan movers , located in ottawa Ontario. They were out standing movers . I call them they booked my move . On the day of the they arrived 30 mins early. They rapped everything I’ve seen that before. They loaded the truck quickly and unloaded just as fast . I’ve heard before of movers Breaking things , these movers didn’t break nothing . Metropolitan Movers took the stress right out of my move!! It was a challenging move from a high rise building with a lot of things to move - Habib, Jam, and Tiger were excellent: friendly, efficient, and careful. On the other end, they were exceptionally fast and helpful (inviting me to direct them so everything went where I needed it to go). And Johnny from the dispatch office was very informative and answered all of my questions in setting up the on-the-ground details - I can’t say enough positive things about my experience! We are glad that we chose this company for our moving in Ottawa for several reasons. Before calling this company, we called several others but they all were so expensive. But Metropolitan movers gave us the most affordable price and there wasn’t any hidden fees. Amin and his team were nice and punctual. Excellent service. We were in need of a last-minute move, and Metropolitan Movers had three men out to us within the hour, on a Saturday. Once there, the movers were friendly and highly professional, treating every piece with care. They moved out a very complicated and extremely heavy dining room set + bed room set without a sweat, or damage. I couldn't recommend them more.

We needed movers and only had a few days to find someone. These guys were reasonably priced and very friendly. They moved my son's place in under two hours. They had a big job in the morning and still had energy to move my son with smiles on their face. Nothing was too heavy or too awkward for them. Would definitely go with these guys again.

Used Metropolitan Movers for my last 2 moves. The movers were punctual and managed to get all of my items in a single run. Movers for my latest mover were Tiger, Shak & Liaban. Have to say they are friendly and easy to work with. Made the move easier in all the chaos. They showed up on time. No hidden fees.

Poor service. 2 out of 3 movers very slow and disinterested. As a result local move took over 9 hours. Destroyed front lawn with moving truck, despite having plenty of room to maneuver. Habib dismissive of my claim, I've called numerous times regarding the lawn. Be aware. Very unprofessional. Do not book.

I hired Metropolitan Movers for a local move, quote was extremely competitive however the team they sent was very young. Not sure how much experience they had but they did a fairly decent job. 3 stars because there was minor damage to my walls that I noticed after and there was a mishap with my neighbor.

Did a big move with them within Ottawa. They were very responsive and the only company did a thorough walkthrough of my house when getting a quote. The movers themselves were a great group of guys. Worked really hard and got everything done under the estimated time. I highly recommend!

Very efficient, took care when moving boxes and furniture and strapped down items in the truck. Very reasonably priced. My only complaint is they were an hour late and it wasn't due to traffic etc.
