It's honestly really sad how this place has gone SO downhill over the past few years. The staff and vets were caring and compassionate and responsive...until they weren't. It seems as though the best vets have left. We had actually switched our cats' care to a former Mohawk Alley vet who opened her own practice but one of our cats started vomiting on a Thursday evening, continued every few hours and his new vet wasn't able to see him. It didn't seem to rise to the level of ER at that point so we decided to give Mohawk Alley another chance. They had an emergency appointment available so we took it though I was shocked to hear that the price had risen from $90 to $128 for this type of visit. (It was $55 in 2018.) The vet I spoke with over the phone was very pleasant and reassuring. My cat's bloodwork and x-rays were normal so she suggested fluids and a shot of an anti-nausea drug. We both figured that would sort him out. She told me if he continued to vomit that he would need to be seen again but gave no further instructions. We got him home and there was no more vomiting but he still wasn't eating and seemed lethargic. I called Mohawk Alley to see if this was normal and find out when I should expect his appetite to return. The receptionist spoke with a vet and called me back, only saying that the injection wasn't an appetite stimulant just an anti-nausea drug. I explained that I understood but was concerned since at that point, he had not eaten in 24 hours. I was told that if he was not eating and vomiting again to call and they'd see if they could fit me in the next day. I asked, 'what if he just doesn't start eating again but isn't vomiting?' The receptionist repeated the exact same thing she had just said so I gave up. I was only able to get him to eat a few bites of turkey baby food and a couple treats the next morning. I called at noon and left a message, expressing my concern. I said that was very concerned because my cat is a little overweight, hadn't eaten for almost 48 hours and is therefore more at risk for Hepatic Lipidosis (something that absolutely should have been discussed with me from the start but never was; thankfully, I used to be a vet tech so I know about it but what about owners who don't have that background?!). I asked if I could possibly just pick up some more anti-nausea medication and/or an appetite stimulant (I've used the latter with other inappetent cats in the past). No reply. I called again at 2 pm, again, expressing my rising concern & repeating my earlier message and request. The receptionist said she would get the message to the vet but advised that there was only one vet on staff. I said I understood but again stressed that I was really concerned and was just hoping for a little guidance, as I had said twice before. I never got a call back. Never got a call checking in on him either (which is something they used to do). Just a message 30 minutes after closing saying that if he still wasn't eating by the morning to take him to the ER which is honestly where I should have taken him to begin with. I never should have given Mohawk Alley another chance. The quality of their service has continued to go downhill while their prices have risen. It really is a shame because this used to be a great practice but this most recent experience has solidified my distrust in the service they provide. If you love your pets, go elsewhere.

Consistently poor bedside manner. I had to come back for multiple follow up appointments every time something was wrong with my cat because they are too busy and aren’t very diligent. I just don’t think they do their due diligence and immediately resort to worst case scenario. It’s a rotating door of doctors who aren’t super invested in your pet- constantly felt like a number. They will charge you for anything and everything when they haven’t even resolved an issue. Front desk seems constantly overwhelmed and needed follow up every single time I had a request. They even forgot to fill a prescription for me and then lied that it was almost ready (made me wait for 30 mins). I just waited before making moves to a new spot, and now I found a great place that made me realize I waited too long. Mohawk was convenient but it’s not worth the convenience when your pockets are being emptied and your left with the same problems time and time again. Sorry for this salty review but I love my pet too much to settle and anyone I know originally went there would agree with this.

My girlfriend brought in one of our cats who is anxious and whom we are trying to make comfortable. The doctor a) shamed my gf about not paying for a 500 DOLLAR HOURLY behaviorist (we have paid for a cat trainer, we have bought toys and puzzles, we are doing everything in our power to help this cat feel good but we aren't made of money) b) told my gf that we should give?!?!? our cat up?!?!? and then FINALLY when my gf started CRYING recanted and said she'd consider putting her on Prozac. What kind of deranged bedside manner is this?? Who talks to people who want to help their pet like that??? Absolutely insane behavior on the part of the vet. Will definitely not be returning and would tell ANYONE with pets to give this spot a miss. Advocating for surrendering an adult cat who has medical needs and shaming someone doing EVERYTHING THEY CAN to help her is....reaaaaaallly egregiously bad medical care! Genuinely an embarrassment, I'm so mad.

It seems that this place focuses on volume. I like the veterinarian our dog has seen a couple of times but waiting 1.5 hours for a single blood test is crazy. Guess what, when I went inside to check on things, suddenly she’s ready. Coincidence? Very anxious dog, I had to carry her in because she wouldn’t budge when we got close to the place. When I complained about the wait, one of the receptionists was condescending, said if a pet is anxious they wait to draw the blood. And then, “they’re pets, not people.” Well, being there for 1.5 hours is worse on her anxiety than a quick blood draw. She’s old and not strong, either, so the comment that fighting a dog to insert the needle does not apply to her. Wish I could find a more personal small vet clinic.

They have an amazing team of vets, techs and support staff that is knowledgeable, supportive, and reliable. My senior cat has a couple of health concerns that our vets and techs have been helping to diagnose and maintain treatment for. I feel involved in the process (versus just being dictated to) and usually get a response to emailed questions/updates within 24-48 hours. They treat my cat as if she were their own family member. They also use an online platform for booking Tech appointments, checking-in, approving estimates, etc - super convenient. My only wish is for a bigger back parking lot.

We’ve been going to Mohawk Alley Animal Hospital for at least a decade for vaccines, routine care, and more serious problems, and they always take great care of our dogs. They have digital records that make it easy to transfer them to pet daycare and boarding and they are always super nice, caring, and helpful. They are always up to date with tech and recommendations and they teach us how to take better care of our dogs ourselves. We’ve moved since we started going there and there are closer vet clinics but I wouldn’t dream of trusting anyone else with our dogs’ care.

I truly appreciate getting my cat in same day, giving me options for treatment and probably saving his life; at the very least, saving him anymore pain. And then offering free labs on his blood sample! Amazing. Nevah is doing so well (except he keeps escaping his cone like a furry Houdini) but his wound is already looking so much better. Thank you for everything! The patience and kindness of the entire staff, and the time you all took to make sure I had clear options made a very stressful situation a lot easier.

I feel like the staff is very attentive & cares. I feel very comfortable with Dr. Fujitake & how treats me & my pets. She really seems to understand what my concerns are and addresses them. Everyone seems very knowledgeable or willing to get an answer for you. I like that they have parking although it is often full. When my Lola passed away everyone was super sweet, sent a card & gave their condolences when I took my other pet in a month later. I really appreciate the level of care they offer for my girls.

  • Jen D'Mello

Dr. Kelly was kind, shared her knowledge of my cat's issues with me, and took her time. She didn't rush to medicate her and move onto the next animal. She listened to my questions and concerns, did a thorough check-up, and went out of her way to provide me with additional information that would help me protect my cat from future illnesses. She didn't push me to purchase unnecessary tests or medications. My visits to Mohawk have always gone relatively well, but this one was exceptional. Thank you.

  • Jenny Fielstra

They have thought of everything and put the hospitality in hospital. I appreciate the thought they put into the rooms- pheromone diffusers and QR codes that give you access to calming music for your animal companion. Pope Francis only wishes he had half the care and compassion Mohawk Alley provides you and your pet. You will sleep well knowing your "selfish", childless lifestyle companion has the best care anywhere!

  • Amelia Aspen

Every staff member we interacted with was super friendly and efficient and Dr. Thakkar was really great with our dog and we were happy with the treatments that were recommended. She noticed a joint issue that no other vet had caught before. Everyone was great with our (very nervous) dog and he left less scared than he was when he arrived, which is pretty amazing for a vet appointment!

  • Ariane Resnick

The vet we saw at Mohawk Alley turned my cat's life around. Every recommendation for testing turned out to be something there was an issue with, and her recommendation to give the blood work to a pet nutritionist then enabled my baby to flourish in a manner he hadn't for years. I am so grateful for this place and the vet's spot-on instincts about the issues we were facing.

  • Maddie B

Insane to me that the earliest appointments they have are weeks out. My cat has been coughing and displaying signs of illness (also, keep in mind, we are established patients here) and we were basically told to figure it out on our own. Not really sure what to do moving forward if our cats are having health issues and can’t see a vet before it’s too late. Really uncool.

  • Katy Gonzalez

My pet Cosmo and I always have had a very lovely experience with Dr. Fujitake. She listens to all my concerns and is very thorough with explaining things to me during treatment and check-ups. She’s always very sweet with my pet during every visit. We love her! I appreciate the time she takes to answer all my questions and her knowledge on almost everything pet related!

  • Brennen Thaney

The staff at Mohawk Alley were amazing. I appreciated the time spent to answering all my questions and sharing multiple options for solutions. Additionally, it meant so much to me (and my dog) that you were so accommodating for his fear of the vet. Letting me keep him calm while he faced the needles was such a huge help and reduced so much stress! thank you.

  • Britney Penouilh

We have 3 dogs in our home and Mohawk Alley Animal Hospital has been amazing in taking care of them. Our youngest had very aggressive dental disease where the roots were exposed and the teeth were wiggly. He had 12 teeth removed and he's so much happier and healthier than before. I'm really grateful and satisfied with the service they continue to provide.

  • Tonya Glanz

Love this place. Caring, attentive doctors. Always warm and relaxed. My cat had lots of ibd issues and they tracked it all with me over multiple appointments. Even though I’m sure they have hundreds of clients, I felt like they knew my cat and that’s really encouraging when you’re dealing with minor health issues. Staff is great.

  • Sarah & Lizette Ayers Martinez

The entire team is very competent. They delivered excellent care to my pet. There was good communication throughout the procedure and after. They took the time to explain to me why they made certain decisions. They even thanked me for taking an interest in my pet’s health. Yes they are a bit more expensive, but well worth it!

  • Syed S Mehdi

Took my 2 cats in. They were good on time and very friendly. Doctor was nice and knowledgeable. I know that pet services can get expensive but I appreciate them telling me things I needed to do immediately VS not having some tests or things done immediately. Overall, I appreciate the help and care for my pets. Must recommend!

  • Matt Fabela

Our first visit at Mohawk was wonderful. We had lots of questions to ask about our new dog Rebel and the staff and vet were able to help us with everything. When I asked about specific diet needs the staff later that day gathered that information and emailed me. That follow through meant a lot. Thank you Mohawk!

  • Jake Ettinger

I had a fantastic experience bringing my cat to this vet for a year while I lived in the area. The doctor was always responsive, patient and helpful and they helped my cat a few times when she had different medical issues. Easy to speak to the front desk and book appointments too. Definitely recommend!

  • Samantha Silliman

I love Mohawk Alley. Everyone who works there is incredibly kind, friendly, and knowledgable. They are so transparent about costs and I have the utmost trust in them handling my dog. I wish I had known to come here years ago for other animals. The amazing staff make this place a dream.

  • Kimberly Faimon

Easy check in process. Appointment went smoothly and quickly and Vet was very knowledgeable. I liked that they gave me estimates before I committed to plan of care. I made my next appointment easily as well! Glad my friend recommended this spot! Everyone was very nice to Rio and me :)

  • D. de Silva

Friendly, dog loving team at Mohawk! Our go to for emergencies, check ups, and shots. I would however recommend getting a prescription from them and filling it at Costco; a bit cheaper! Otherwise, amazing. The staff is filled with animal lovers, and you feel it in each interaction!

  • R. Budd

I've been bringing my four legged family members to Mohawk Alley almost since Day One. I've found a vet I trust and that's most important to me. The techs are friendly and the team at the front desk, no matter how busy, makes an effort to give you the attention you need.

  • Ashley Deuell

Everyone is so kind here, from the front desk to the doctors. I was thinking about switching vets because this one is kind of far from us, but it's worth the distance. Everyone's gentle demeanor with my cat makes such a big difference for his and my experience.

  • Shilpa Johar

Genuinely happy with the overall process of making the appointment, using the TeleVet app and the first appointment experience. So grateful that Sage's health is in good hands! The kindness and knowledge of the technicians and Vet are much appreciated.

  • Mira Rose Clark

I had no idea I could park in the back for the curbside appointment! That will be super convenient when I visit next. The staff here is always so friendly, the doctor made my nervous pup feel safe and happy, and overall I had a quick and

A primary vet should be having conversations about diet, preventive care, and potential health concerns way before anything alarming arises. Our cat was misdiagnosed with asthma, given an inhaler subscription and sent on her way. Months

My dog got sick on a Sunday afternoon and I went down a rabbit hole of looking into what it could be. Everything I found online indicated it could be very serious. I was so worried about her and called Mohawk first thing Monday morning

  • Katrina Nix

Everyone was very kind and treated my dog well. Prices were reasonable and less than I've seen at other clinics. Very clean and nice office. They were very thorough and asked a lot of questions about my dog and his care. Very pleased

  • Pierre LEMAIRE

Very nice place and very professional people who are truly in love with animals! My cats got two vaccines and got microchipped and they both feel good and were feeling confident with the person who took care of them. Life changing!

  • Kristin Witterschein

Super friendly and capable staff, thorough examination with vet explaining everything clearly to me, full transparency with cost. The combo of friendliness + professionalism of the staff is 5 stars. You know you're in great hands!

  • Steve Chappell

Very competent and caring staff. And all the vets are women (this may sound sexist, but I think women make better vets - better communication and empathy with pet owners). Not inexpensive, but no needless charges, which is really

  • Cory Bishop

We have truly grown to love this place. Truth be told we stumbled upon it due to an emergency and we are glad we did. They have been our vet ever since! Professional friendly staff. Our pup actually looks forward to coming here.

  • A. Hayes

I've had nothing but great experiences here with our cats. The vets have always been attentive and returned calls and expressed concern for our cats. Excellent at giving options for treatment and explaining things well.

  • jeaneth0887

Amazing service. Staff are very friendly and we were seen very promptly. Dr. Chau is the best and she took her time listening to my concerns. She is very knowledgeable and provided me with options. I highly recommend.

  • Review Brahhh

Just so y’all are aware there is a lawsuit against them for letting unlicensed vet assistants perform duties during surgery like intubation, extraction, etc. and caused a dog to lose its tail due to negligence.

  • Madras Suspiria

Very pleasant first time experience. My cat & I felt welcomed and at ease throughout the stressful situation. We were attended to very promptly and a potential solution to our issue was offered. Thank You.

  • Kate Henning

We appreciate that Mohawk staff always shows care and empathy for our cats. It's truly a pleasure to see everyone interact with our pets! Communication is also great. We love the portal and email updates.

  • Molly Shapiro

I have been taking my cats here for over 2 years - one of them visits every 3 months for bloodwork. He is not a huge fan of going to the vet and we have worked on finding the best way to approach this.

  • Max Segal

Wanted to shout these guys out today they really really helped me out in a bind and I’m so grateful to management and the staff. Thank you! Great ppl and great practice. Been coming here 10+ years.

  • Andrew Sharp

Best vet we've gone to, always kind, considerate, happy to explain options and trade-offs, and never any waiting (beyond the expected time while services are being rendered of course).

  • Jared Clark

Great vet with solid prices for its location. Super convenient to me in Echo Park. Open seven days a week, decent hours. Super friendly staff always take good care of my animal

  • CAROLINE SOMMERS

Clean place, cordial staff (though very busy and sometimes not super warm and fuzzy), and Dr. Fujitake is pleasant, thorough, and a great vet. Highly recommend Mohawk Alley.

  • Boo Caban

My cat's health is doing well. Office runs pretty efficiently. l My cat's overall quality of life has improved. Very happy with Mohawk staff and vets.

  • David

The only vet with trust with our two dogs. Mohawk Alley has always been great, albeit a little pricey. I guess sometimes you get what you pay for.

  • Chrystal Booker

All the staff is so friendly and welcoming! They made me and Kitty feel at home. We’ll definitely be seeing Dr. Chau again!
