I'm very grateful to Dr Strydom and his fantastic team for the numerous procedures they've done: - Night guard - Sports mouth guard - Cosmetic improvement to front chipped tooth - Old filling replacement - Oral hygiene Dr Strydom recommended I wear a night guard, as I was grinding my teeth while sleeping. This made me realise I didn't breathe through my nose properly and ended up getting a Septoplasty from my ENT. Both strategies significantly improved my sleep to a point where I feel incomplete without my night guard. I practise Martial Arts and Dr Strydom made me a professional mouth guard, which is way more comfortable and effective than a store bought guard. When I was a teenager I broke my front tooth in a bicycle accident. It cracked in a tricky place and the filling tends to break off every couple of years when I bite into something hard. Dr Strydom's fixing is the best I've had so far from the several dentists I've been to (I used to travel a lot) and lasts the longest. Last but not least, I also get my teeth cleaned with the resident oral hygienist regularly and I can not endorse this enough. My mouth feels reborn after every cleaning! ;) If you're worried about the pricing, give them a call before hand to get an estimate. I highly recommend this Dental Practise, I fully trust this team!

Went for a consultation at Molteno Road Dental Practice for cosmetic dental procedures (veneers/crowns), in order for Dr Jean Strydom to provide me with a quote. My feeling during the consultation was that he was not comfortable or sure in or explaining what exactly the consultation needed to be, as well as the cosmetic dental procedure that I was inquiring about. He however made the visit lasted more than 30min, and after fiddling (that's all I can call it) in my mouth for that long, and had taken 2 x-rays without my consent. He still wanted to have another look in my mouth when I indicated I wanted to end the visit. End of the consultation, I was presented with a bill of R644. Overall: Dr Jean Strydom was the least professional or knowledgeable about the procedure that I was query about. The sole purpose of the consultation was for him to get some bucks out me. He was very hesitant about the said dental procedure, however, when I asked if he has done it before, he said he had done loads!?! Sorry, I didn't believe you and am not now. All in all, I would NOT recommend Dr Jean Strydom or Molteno Road Dental Practice at ALL and for ANYBODY!! (I have communicated with him about my unsatisfactory of the visit, he hasn't bothered to respond)

Like everyone, well those of us that aren't masochists, I have never enjoyed going to the dentist. Something about being stuck in a chair with a drill in my mouth I imagine. However, and this is a BIG however, my experience at Molteno Road was nothing short of amazing. I attended Jean's practice on a recommendation from my ex-wife, who would usually want to inflict pain rather than mitigate it, and following my treatment our relationship has flourished! - I required an implant, which to those in the know, requires hours of time in the chair with drills and spikey things. Despite this I barely felt any pain throughout, apart from a little lower back pain from remaining still for so long! The procedure and results were nothing short of amazing! - I was both comfortable and at times entertained by dental jokes (yes there is such a thing!) and now when I smile, I have the piece of mind that my pearly whites are indeed straight and .... white! Jean, I would just like to thank you and your lovely assistant for the professional service I received and the improved smile I now have. Keep working on the jokes, you'll get there in the end. I can wholeheartedly recommend Molteno Raod dentist practice to ANYONE.

An exceptional ‘Vacation Dentistry’ experience! I live in the USA but decided to have my dental work done in South Africa due to the lower costs. I found this dental practice on the internet and so I was a little concerned, but I need not have worried. Dr Strydom recommended a more conservative approach than my dentist at home, which I was delighted about. He was very informative, highly professional, and he listened to me. As he has all the equipment for making on-lays and crowns in his office all my dental work was completed in a single, long visit. At a second visit he took impressions and had a new set of retainers made for me, which are more comfortable and fit better than my old ones. The hygienist is also professional and thorough (although she only works there two days per week). The costs were exactly the same as the quotations that he sent me before the consultation. I can really recommend this dental practice for modern and high quality dental care.

Since being introduced to Jean Strydom and the Molteno Road practice over twelve years ago our visits to the dentist have become routine and regular in a way that they never were in the UK. The 'Team's' calm, relaxed approach extends from the waiting room into the surgery where it is complimented immeasurably by a confidence and professionalism that would calm even the most troubled patient with every stage of play thoughtfully and clearly explained. The uncluttered simplicity of the surgery gives no indication of the state-of-the art, 21st Century dental technology in use and has become the absolute hallmark of the practice. It could never be said that going to the dentist was a pleasure but with their hugely affable, calm professionalism and their ongoing investment in the advances of the 'tools of their trade' they have relegated forever the fear factor of the visit. Dr Jean Strydom has been a rated part of our close family circle since childhood, but I only met him in his professional capacity recently. It was clear from the outset that he was truly brilliant and totally in control in his field, and I felt so safe and well looked after! One review said: "Best dentist in Cape Town" - true! A while ago, dr Jean Strydom was a national winner in "Smile Design", and was sent to Switzerland by IVODENT for two weeks, visiting their laboratories. He has worked with two specialists to repair the aesthetic factor of a patient who has had severe damage. Being the humble person that he is, he went quietly (I obtained this information from his receptionist). I personally feel that dr Jean Strydom is not merely an EXCELLENT dentist, but, in addition, also practices the ART of DENTISTRY at excellence !!!

I would give Dr Strydom more stars if it were possible. I used to be petrified of dentists (and my teeth suffered accordingly), however, after seeing Dr Strydom, I don't have any fear *whatsoever*. Dr Strydom is on time, kind, compassionate and, more importantly, the work that he does is phenomenal. He is a perfectionist and will not settle for anything less on your teeth, always doing whatever he can to make improvements for you whether you ask for it or not. I am grateful for everything he has done for me over the few years I have seen him (and major work he has done on my teeth) I firmly believe Dr Strydom is one of the best / if not the best healthcare professional I have ever been to and I wish more out there were like him...

Dr Strydom is a very friendly, caring and professional dentist that makes you feel at ease at all times. Two of my maulers broke in half. I was so scared that I was going to loose my teeth. I contacted Dr Strydom and he really went out of his way to ensure that he could see me as soon as possible. Dr Strydom was brilliant, he could save my teeth and fix it the same day using his Cerec machine. I could bite on my teeth the same day without any pain. The ceramic restoration looks and feels brilliant. I went back to Dr Strydom to have another ceramic restoration done. With no hesitation, I can highly recommend Dr Strydom to all, from young to old.

Professional practice and no doubt confident about their ability to do the job. Very thorough and detailed. However, I mentioned 3 times I was simply wanting to get a filling done. Not anything else. After an hour in the chair it seemed I got everything examined yet no filling and obviously a consultation fee to pay and a hefty quote to look at?? I was told over the phone what a filling would roughly cost and that a consultation fee would be added and that it could obviously be done. Better communication would have been comforting and if I had know this was the deal beforehand, I would not be writing this.

I waited with this review just to see how white my teeth would be after several months. I got my teeth whitened in November 2021. I chose to have it done at Molteno Road and got a homekit with to bleach them further at home. The oral hygiënist that bleached my teeth was very knowledgeable and patient and she talked me through each step of the process. The first night my teeth did hurt a bit (I was warned about this) but that went away quite quickly. The result is really good. My teeth are still white and they look naturally white (I was worried I might end up with a glow-in-the-dark-smile)

Certainly the best experience I have EVER had at the dentist. Both Dr De Jager and her staff were extremely understanding of my fear of the dentist, assisted me professionally and made me feel very at ease about the procedure. I left having no pain after being a quite a bit of pain for a number of days beforehand. I learned a lot about my teeth specifically and her recommendations were valuable and precise. Booking the appointment was easy and costs were in line with other dental practices in the area. Overall would 100% recommend them and will also be going back myself.

I had a wonderful experience at Molteno Road Dental Practice. Dr de Jager helped me and was so gentle and considerate! She managed to do quite a lot of work in only two sessions. I didn't even realise when the local wore off, as there was literally no pain! She also allowed me to listen to a podcast during the appointment which really helped distract me from everything. They were super accommodating (I changed both appointments - one on account of being sick, and another because of meetings), and were just lovely to deal with! I would highly recommend!

I've been a patient of Dr Jean Strydom for over ten years, and it has been a wonderful experience from the start. So glad I found Molteno Road. Dr Strydom's aesthetic work on my teeth came out better than I'd hoped. Love how they look. He also replanned, and replaced the veneers at no cost after my night grinding caused some damage to the original ones. Having a dentist who takes pride in their work really puts your mind at ease. I could go on with all the other things he did right, but it all comes down to him (and the entire Molteno Road team) being remarkably skilled, with an impeccable level of integrity. Recommended.

One of my issues with major dental work such as implants is having to deal with more than one practitioner. I originally went to Jean Strydom because he has the skill to handle all the work needed in one place. I can't fault my experience from diagnosis, recommendation, quoting to guiding me through the process. His equipment is state if the art and crowns get milled on the premises. The location of the practice provides a sense of VIP whereas the total cost was less than I expected. Highly recommended.

Finding a dentist for you or children knowing your in safe hands with great work can be hard but this is it!! I came just needing a simple guard and left with a great smile and a weight of my shoulders with improvement's made with incredible attention to detail. I've been seeing Dr Strydom for a few years now and am always impressed by the level of care, quality of work and concern for my comfort. I am one of those unhappy patients who genuinely dreads going to the dentist, but I've never had any pain during a procedure with Dr Strydom and he always does his best to put me at ease. I also appreciate that he explains procedures in full detail and that there is far more aftercare than I've ever experienced with a dental practice in the past. Highly recommended.

I am used to German dentists and have to admit being new to South Africa I was scared when my filling fell out. After a variety of shocking experiences I found dentist Dr Jean Strydom in Molteno Road, which is very close to Cape Town's city center. He is very gentle and accurate and not one of those scary "Cowboy dentists". He is also one of the few dentists in Cape Town who has one of those fency Cerec machines that makes white crowns that are supposed to last better than your own teeth.

Very professional experience. I had a very complicated extraction and implant done. Dr Strydom explained the issues and risks to me carefully and took time to clearly lay out the procedures that he would follow. The procedures itself were performed with care, diligence and absolute precision. Equally important, the after care and follow-up was excellent. Overall the staff at the practice created a trusting and caring environment leading to a professional and precise medical experience.

Dr Strydom is a fantastic dentist. I am incredibly scared of needles and dentists but he and all the staff there immediately made me feel comfortable. I also explained my fear of needles before my procedure and unlike so many other Drs, Dr Strydom did not dismiss my concerns. He was so gentle, I felt nothing, not the local not the procedure and even afterwards my teeth did not hurt. I am very impressed with the standard of care and quality of work I received there.

Very slick and professional appearing practice, with emphasis on a business model. Lacks patient-centred care. Lacks patient empowerment. Paternalistic attitude to the provision of care. Recommends expensive procedures without discussing the relative risks and harms. Doesn't respond to legitimate questions about value of recommended procedures.

Best technical skills of any dentist I have ever gone to. His work last and last. Not a single thing he has done has broken yet, where before that was a constant problem. Also does milling of ceramic fillings and inserts on site, which is a lot safer than amalgam fillings and will last a very long time. Very happy.

Tienelle is just terrific. She whitened my teeth and during the 1 hour long treatment, she kept asking if I was okay and even gave me a blanket as the aircon was cold. Highly recommend her!
