I found the vet (if there’s more than one, I’ve never seen them) very crabby and dismissive. When I explained the cat’s symptoms, he said he couldn’t see anything and didn’t bother to investigate further. He didn’t make any sort of effort to put the cat or me at ease, in stark contrast to other vets I’ve been to since. A friend of mine reported very similar findings, saying he insisted on calling the dog “it” (rather than he or his name, despite my friend helpfully supplying these whenever he said “it”), and outright ignored her child who was trying to interact with him (in some ways I get that, but on the other hand part of the job is interacting with the owners).

When my darling little cat was almost killed by some psycho driving fast down a residential street, they were available for an appointment about an hour after I called. They gave very good care, including pain-killer anti-inflammatory, with free follow-ups to check his progress. They had to operate on his tooth and it has been fine. Their prices were reasonable, and I had phoned/ shopped around before deciding on this clinic. The vet and nurses, now, are really good and very caring towards my cat. Before the clinic changed hands, one of the vets was very callous and there was a very rude vet nurse, but now they are great.

First and foremost Dr Conor is an outstanding and compassionate vet. Himself and the team at Newton have been nothing but a blessing to us in an extremely difficult time of losing our beloved Cat to illness. I cannot recommend Dr Conor and the team highly enough, they made this heartbreaking time a little easier through their love and compassion for our Chester. I can’t thank you enough.

I have recently got a new pup and over the last week i have called a number of vets that i have found dismissive and had a complete lack of patience with my questions. I can't say the same for Newton Vet. The lady i spoke with today was so friendly and spent the time addressing any questions i had in detail. As a side note, they have also been the cheapest one i have found in this area.

Absolutely NO WAY I would ever go here again. Rude staff and vet! My dog was very anxious they didn’t even give him a chance to calm down just wanted us to throw our 30kg dog on his back on the table and pin him down. Very obvious that the staff hate animals and only in it for the money. Please do not go here, find a vet that respects both yourself and your animals!!

Newton Vet are amazing; they are very knowledgeable and have a deep compassion for the care and wellbeing of animals. Long term supporter of rescues in SA, they really go above and beyond to help assist the welfare of cats and dogs within the wider community too. Conor & his staff showed our Noodles & my husband & I the most gentle of care & upmost respect at the saddest of time, as we put our beloved old boy to rest. There was no rushing even though it was after hours on a friday evening, just kindness & care. We cannot thank or recommend Conor highly enough, he is a superb vet & a wonderful young man.

Slogged me $72 for maybe a 15 minute appointment that I booked to see if my dog was pregnant. Didn’t get a definitive answer. Apparently it wasn’t the usual vet, the admin girl was great and she even seemed surprised that he actually charged me for really doing nothing at all. I don’t think I’ll ever be taking a pet here again.

My cats let the Vet and the assistants/receptionists do their job wonderfully. All of the clinic's employees are beautiful animal lovers, they don't over price and cater to every pet's needs.

The vet had a general mood of not caring. He made my dog very uncomfortable and showed no interest. Giving him an injection, he hurt him ( hadn't anywhere else). My dog left scared and not happy. The vet we go to now, he loves going there.

I love this veterinary practice they are reasonably priced and the staff are great. I've been quoted $850 at my local vets for one tooth removal. Newton vets only charged more than half that two years ago so will be going back to Newton

Geoff is a warm and caring vet. Our dog would probably not still be with us if it wasn't for his great investigation work into our dog's condition. We are grateful for his knowledge and how much he cares for all of his fury patients.
