I recently moved to the neighborhood and came here because of the great reviews and I always prefer to support small businesses. The first time I stopped in I asked if a particular dog food could be ordered - they carry the brand, just not the senior version that I feed my dog. When I was able to get the attention of the woman behind the counter (who was on her phone the whole time I was in the store) she said that she'd ask the owner. I asked if I should leave my number, she said no. I also purchased some dog treats and when I got home noticed that one of the bags had a store sticker for $4.99 but below it the bag was printed with $1.99. I've since stopped in again, but they're not carrying the food I requested and each time the woman at the counter is seated and on her phone the whole time totally disinterested in my asking if the food is in or can be ordered. Today I went in to stock up on treats, not the one with the $3 increased price but the other treats which I priced on Amazon and they were similar enough in price. However now the price has gone up to over $10 for the bag that was $7 a month ago (and is $7 on Amazon). I've found a store further down 5th that carries the food I need and will now shop there.

I was passing by and realized i needed to buy some cat food. I've passed by a few times but never went inside. The first thing i noticed was the high quality food the store sells, such as Tiki cat, orijen, and wellness, to name a few. The owner was also very friendly and helpful. He also had two feline body guards in the back lounging around. Even though the store was small, I really liked the merchandise that was being sold and the quality of service. I will definitely be shopping here again.

I like this place. They're very helpful and accommodating and always give free samples. The guys that run it are always just chit chatting behind the counter and I like to pretend they're in the mafia and this is just their cover, because I just get that vibe and they're big men. Only thing I dislike is that either the hours are wrong or they just close and open when they want...twice I've gone during their advertised hours and they were closing shop (as much as a half hour early).

Great local pet food store. The owner is very nice and attentive and doesn't hesitate to place custom orders as needed. Prices are comparable to online prices and he also offers reward points. Has all kinds of litter, brands of cat and dog food as well as toys and other accessories

Absolutely love this place! The new owner is the best! He is so helpful and knowledgeable on what is the best cat food for my little exotic short hair named Romeo. This place is super clean, has the best products and toys! A+! Finally a great pet shop in Park Slope!!

I like it very much! They have two of the sweetest felines ever around the store/front window just chilling and prrrrrr-ing away. Prices are fair and the place is pretty clean. Everyone has been very friendly every time I've been there. Good energy! Yey!

This pet store is under new management and boy what a change! I will definitely be going back. It reminds me of small town superior service and friendly atmosphere. Peter, (manager) will be a great addition to Southslope!

Nice staff and right around the corner to the Brooklyn Dog Training Center. Needed some last minute treats for a training class and they were fully stocked. Got a free sample of kibble too, very awesome!

The proprietor here is wonderful. He never tries to push things on you, he's friendly and considerate, and he showers me with cat treat samples because I'm a loyal customer.
