Today, I had the best experience I could only dream of. I have always dreaded going to the dentist thus the delay of the much needed dental care that had to be done. I have been here in America for 7 years. Sadly, I learned that I’m a BLACK MUSLIM WOMAN WITH AN AFRICAN ACCENT therefore, a second class citizen in almost everything. This is why I do my thorough research when it comes to the healthcare of my family. I had not seek dental care for a while. I did my due diligence and learned of this amazing clinic. Also, I prayed hard before making the phone call for God’s protection. My very first call when making an appointment, the receptionist, Chelsea was extremely patient and kind. She checked my insurance if it was accepted iclini done and helped schedule an appointment for my kids and I. The front desk ladies were extremely helpful and respectful.The dental hygienist and the dentist that cared for my kids were amazing with kids. My appointment came around and the experience was great. I needed deep cleaning so I scheduled the appointment. Last week, I showed up to the appointment and was super scared. Deborah was very welcoming and helpful. She did everything gracefully with respect. She took the time to explain to me the financial part. What I will pay out of pocket and what the insurance will pay. They were upfront and I was given all the options I could pick from. During the deep cleaning, the dental hygienist took the time to explain the procedure and answered all of my questions. This helped me overcome my fears a little. He explained every step as he was doing the procedure. Today, I was getting my left side of the mouth done. Teri, I’m so sorry if I butchered your name. She was so gentle, patient reassuring and most of all, treated me with respect and dignity. I appreciated so much the fact that when she was not sure about something in one of my teeth, she sought second opinion from the dentist. Being an RN and working in Healthcare, this made me respect her and trust her even more. This is how I value human life such that I would rather appear “stupid” and seek help from a colleague than risk someone’s life. Thank you so much for this awesome experience. AVOID. Several issues here. And there are plenty of other dentists. Wish I would have read the other reviews before going here. 1. While Dentist was friendly, I felt pressure to purchase an out of pocket 'deep clean' service, instead of just using the normal cleaning my insurance pays for. 2. Even calling in to set up the regular cleaning was met with resistance from front desk personnel. I had to insist, repeatedly, that I did not want the deep clean, just the regular insurance covered cleaning. 3. Dentist sent me on a wild goose chase to see a specialist for a tooth extraction. What dentist can't do a tooth extraction? Was told the place they referred me to accepted my insurance. But only after first insisting they call the place themselves to verify. They did. They lied. If I had not thought to verify when setting up the appointment, I might have gotten tricked into a hefty out of pocket issue. Called and complained. Dentist seemed to give a genuine apology and did the extraction himself. 4. Was shown one price for a crown, but after arriving for scheduled appointment, they tried to add on quite a bit more. I was very thorough and direct in my initial questions. "How much is the Total I will pay," is always a go to question for me. They lied, and when they refused to adjust their price to the original agreed on amount, (perhaps feeling that, since I had shown up for my appointment, I was committed), well, that was the last straw. Glad to go somewhere else. They would rather watch several visits worth of revenue walk out the door than provide honest service. Friendliness of some staff does not make up for the strange practices here. If they make a mistake, fine, but they should own it and fix it and not put the customers through so many unpleasant experiences. Something is wrong here.

I was happy with my dentist and technitian at my first two appointments. I don't know the name of the receptionist but blonde hair and braces. She asked me my information as she checked me in read off my proceedures and i asked if the laser was an aditional charge she stated it was and as i recalled telling them when i booked the appointment i did not want laser or irrigation because it is an additional charge. Come to find out that i was charged for it last time without signing up for it. After clarifying i did not want the laser she stated that because i was late by more than twn mins theyd have to reschedule me. Mind you i was not ten mins late and the clock as she told me this was exactly 10 after 2. On top of that she stated "i already spoke to the technician ". How ma'am when for the last 5mins youve been speaking to me about not wanting laser treatment. Explain to me how that makes sense. I left the office without rescheduling and heard a female say something that sounded like whatever under her breath. I wont say definitively it was her or that is 100% what she said only thats what it sounded like. I arrived back home and called the business to find a complaint line and spoke with Andrew the manager. He apologized for the inconvenience and her attitude. He advised it was a teachable moment for her.. i took time off work to get here i dont have sick time to burn to reschedule things like this in the first place. I had to skip my lunches which i use to see my 3month old son at his daycare and the last week i skipped those to come to this appointment and not lose pay for it. I appreciate the apology but that doesnt fix this situation. I dont get those hrs back with my kid and i dont get my money back for a service i didnt even want. NO i will not be back!

I have been going to this dental office since we moved to Parkville 2 years ago. Within the last two months, I’ve experience nothing but chaos, misinformation, and and an overall time waste. Who really likes to go to the dentist? It makes it 10,000 times worse when appointment times and collecting insurance are in absolute disarray. The receptionists called to collect insurance not once, not twice, but three times. Then, they canceled my appointment accidentally. Ok, mistakes happen. I show up for my appointment…again, and was greeted with so many people in the waiting room, there were people standing. I get up to the receptionist desk, and yet another mistake made on the receptionist behalf. “Nothing was saved by the receptionist who’s name starts with an A” - so they attempted to get my insurance for the fourth time. Instead of a being apologetic, the receptionist met with an attitude, absolutely no empathy, and when I stated, “This is not working, I think I should find another dental office.” She replied, “I think that’s a good idea.” Again, absolutely no empathy or apologies from the woman in the glasses. If you’re looking for an office that will streamline your appointment and insurance, I suggest looking elsewhere .

Gave this place my last chance as they clearly are more interested in $ then your actual mouth! My husband and i do not have insurance so we went with the in house membership plan that we were told we didn’t pay in January 6 months later going in for our second cleaning they state they didn’t have nothing on file! Not to mention they have their reviews linked to when you leave the office you can review them the first time I went I Also didn’t give them 5 stars I’m a dental assistant i know the in and outs of dentistry and I was told I was getting my teeth cleaned by a hygienist but only got them polished! Anyways I explained to them they then called me to offer me a free cleaning which would have been today but since they LACK communication they didn’t have any of this on their system wanting my husband and I to pay $310! Just for cleaning! I do not recommend going here I should have listen to my sister in law when she used to work here that’s all about $$$$$! Save your time go to a family owned practice or private practice!

If I could give an office 0 stars I would. My husband came here because he was having tooth pain, they did a root canal on him a week later that never stopped hurting. He finally went to an endodontist and found out the root canal wasn’t completed and he now has an abscess. We have been working with the office and the insurance company to get his benefits and our copay refunded and after over a month of them telling us it’s been completed, they still haven’t even sent the correct information to the insurance company. Not to mention, they billed the insurance for the wrong code, effectively committing insurance fraud and malpractice in one fell swoop. I have truly never worked with more incompetent staff in my life. They’re run by corporate so no one in the office can ever help you and they make promises to call you back and never do. I will be ensuring everyone I know understands that this office is full of doctors and staff who don’t know up from down and shouldn’t be practicing dentistry.

I left an unsavory review of this office before and the dentist actually called to ask me to take it down in 2018. Three years later I would like to offer a quick but honest review of Parkville Modern Dentistry. Today I had to have a crown recemented for the second time in three years. Which was done at PMD initially--then the first recement which was only one year later. My new dentist said the crown was probably not made large enough to fit when it was done at PMD. I would also like to say that I came into Parkville Modern Dentistry just for a cleaning more than a year after a root canal and crown and was told that the root canal and crown was not done properly and instead of just a cleaning--I got a whole new crown. Luckily they were willing to cover most of the cost since it was done "incorrectly". While placing the crown, the lower palate of my mouth was cut open and sutured. I've had ZERO good results or experiences with this office.

Scheduled an emergency appointment online because of excruciating tooth pain. When I got to my appointment I was told I had to pay because my out of pocket hadn’t been reached. Seemed odd to me because exams are fully covered with my dental insurance. I called my insurance & they confirmed that. I call Parkville Modern Dentistry after I was turned away because at the time I didn’t have the money to use just to be seen by a dentist. No where on their website or in office does it state their office charges a fee to be seen for an emergency appointment. They wait until you get there when you’re already in so much pain to try to get you to pay for something that’s covered by your insurance. And after I confronted them about it they told me if later it’s covered by insurance I can be refunded. That was never stated while I was in office.

In my short time going to PMD&O I have had wonderful experiences with their team. the front office staff is more then capable of getting the job done. the ease of service is a true high mark or their expertise. also their dedicated team of assistants, hygienists, and doctors have truly made my latest visit a breeze. they're professional prompt but most importantly the team at large is fast. in my personal experiences I would like to extend a huge thank you to my care team Chelsea from the front office staff, Liz was my hygienist, and also last but not least Dr. Desai and his assistant Hannah with their work together it made my experience pain free and helped get on track to better overall dental health thank you to their team in Parkville for helping me get peace of mind. I am looking forward to more visits in the future.

I went for my routine appt 8/23 at 5pm and the person that was doing my first floss just hurt my gums like crazy, I told her that she was hurting me and that I prefer to have somebody else do it and the other person was 100% better and delicate with my teeth. I being going to this office for years and I never have a complaint until today! I wasn’t able to put a complaint in office because they say it was too late which it was almost 6pm so make sense but if patients were important they will at least speak to me in person. I don’t have the name of the dental hygienist but I will NOT recommend getting your routine cleaning with her for the lack of professionalism! I have insurance and pay out of pocket when I have to and I don’t deserve to be treated that way since I’m not even a new patient.

This office has it all. Rude dismissive dentist? Yupp Dr Worley has that covered. Unskilled practitioners? Yupp! Over the course of my root canal not only did the assistant not know what the color green looked like (not kidding she handed the dentist a red file three separate times when asked for green) but the dentist also only went half way down my roots so now I have an abscess. OH They also love your money here so much that they’ll only give you a refund for your botched root canal when you remind the receptionist that billing you and your insurance for a completed procedure when in fact it was half done at best is INSURANCE FRAUD. Three weeks later still no refund in the mail. Absolutely abhorrent office don’t waste your time, money, or sanity.

Cleaning and cavities fixed on Saturday. Saturday is a nice option not offered elsewhere. Friendly and very modern dental office. Liz is an exceptional hygienist, very gentle. Dr. Werley fixed 3 cavities in like 15 minutes which was great. I don't like sitting for very long so being fast is important to me. I really like how the dentist showed me high resolution photos of the teeth before so I could see what was wrong that needed fixed. Great seeing where the problems were. Dr. Werley previously fixed a crown I broke the same day (I really didn't want to run around town missing my front tooth). The office staff are super friendly. Dentist explained every option which I liked. You can watch the 3D milling machine which is cool. Strongly recommend.

Let me start by saying the orthodontist was amazing, and the woman at the front desk on the orthodontic side she was so nice and kind, however that dental side was horrible. The Dentist came in like he was mad and tired. I was so uncomfortable with him. Let’s just say I didn’t even bother to remember his name because I knew I was NEVER coming back. The dental assistant was rude and unprofessional, didn’t know how to work the X-ray machine. And at the end of it all they gave me a print out with all these extra procedures I knew I didn’t need. Got another dentist opinion on the print out and realized since I had good dental insurance they were trying to max out my benefits. The Three stars is because the orthodontic team was absolutely amazing.

Dr. Werley is the best! On two different occasions she saw me within a few hours for emergency situations. She has put together a treatment plan for some overdue dental work that I need and I am beyond grateful for her knowledge and experience. I also love that they have advanced technology in their office that allows you to get a crown made the same day. Thank you, Dr. Werley! Bailey at the front desk was thorough in explaining my insurance coverage and always greets me with kindness. Hannah, the dental assistant is personable, kind and went above and beyond to make sure I was clear about my treatment. Liz, the hygentist was gentle when cleaning my teeth, answered all of my questions and was personable and kind.

Edit to add: For my security I am indeed using a different username for the review. I have witnessed firsthand how you treat a new customer so I do not trust how you may handle a bad review. Here to warn others to stay away. I agree with the review from 2/3 weeks prior. I will also help her report your practice as well! If I could give zero, I would. Best way to describe this practice is a bunch of dental professionals that have the mentality of a sleazy car salesman. Front desk staff were not helpful or pleasant at all. They acted bothered by you walking in the door to check in. It was my first and LAST time with this practice. They are the reason people hate going to the dentist!! I would stay far FAR AWAY

Regarding the bad reviews, they must have all had the luxury of never having a bad dentist. They read like comedy pieces to me. This is the best dentist I've ever had, and realistically it has helped with my irrational fear a lot. Sure, there are cheaper dentists. But do you really want to cheap out on your teeth? You're just gonna end up back at the dentist. Dr. Worley is a great dentist, interesting to talk to, and is willing to explain anything to you regarding your oral health. All of her hygienists and assistants are great too, and I've never had pain. I also feel like they use newer technology than most other dentists, which can make a world of difference when it comes to oral health and comfort.

Not happy overall with my visit. Was hoping to get some of my concerns confirmed and work on a plan to fix my teeth. No plan was made and a cleaning wasn't performed felt rushed. The tech that did my xrays was fantastic. I understand prevention is important, but I have pain and needed to setup further appointments. I'll look elsewhere after seeing their pricing for what I needed done. Made the appointment after my fiancee had a positive experience here. However I wasn't offered any kind of payment plan as he was and my root canal was priced several times what his was even having similar insurance to his. Felt like they assumed I couldn't afford anything and sent me on my way.

I like to say that this dentist is awesome. Let me explain, so I broke my tooth and called them to see if they except new patients and they said yes. I explained my situation and they said we can get you in same day, so I finished what I was doing and showed up to my appointment. They ware very nice and caring people. After my X-ray they said I need a crown, because I broke off 30% ofmy tooth. So I was thinking I would have to make another appointment. They said no we do same day crowns. I was like yes, let’s do it. And they even worked with me and my insurance provider. I will be coming back to them for my exams and cleaning!!!

Worst experience I ever had! I moved to KC a couple years ago and was trying to switch to different dentist that is closer to me now. Basically Dentist lied or you could say exaggerated the work that needs to be done on my teeth. I had to go to a different state to see a family dentist to confirm the treatment plan, and of course most of what that I heard from PMD wasn’t true. Unbelievable that PMD is still open with so many people being deceived. Wish I read reviews before even scheduling an appointment. I am sure if enough people having issues with PMD, we can report them to Missouri Dental Board.

Dr. Moore is one of the best surgeons I’ve ever had. I don’t just mean oral surgeon, as I’ve had many surgeries. He is very supportive, kind, and does amazing work. I’ve had to get dentures due to prior chronic health issues ruining my teeth and he treated me with so much dignity and respect. In addition to this, the work he did is amazing. Most denture wearers have issues with fit, this is not the case with me. I had very little swelling and a fast recovery. I feel like I owe this to him. When his nurse couldn’t find a vein for my IV he jumped in without hesitation. I can’t recommend him enough!

I have nothing but love for this dentistry location AND Dr. Yip. He has been so patient, helpful, kind, and silly with me for the past 4 years. I will not go anywhere else. I’ve had cleanings, root canals, and crowns at this office and it has been nothing short of a positive experience. Dr. Yip hears my needs and explains things thoroughly so that I understand the whole process. The staff here is always helpful and kind as well. Are you looking for a dentist that works with you AND for you? This place is it. You will not regret this decision. I won’t take my business anywhere else!

Don't be tricked by fake reviews. This dentist is only there for one reason - to take all your money. Quality of work is poor, and they claimed my daughter needed half her teeth removed and expensive work done. My 16-yr old left sobbing uncontrollably. We took her to another dentist for another opinion, and were informed her teeth were in GREAT shape! 3 years later, and they are still trying to scam people. I just saw a post on NextDoor today, and at least a dozen people echoed stories similar to mine, so I figured I should post a review and warn you!

Our family had a horrible first visit experience. We will never go back here. First me and my husband (along with our toddler) had appointments. The took them 2.5 hours to see us (keep in mind our toddler's visit took less than 5 minutes). They were incredibly slow. The office isn't child friendly.They a few Lego in a corner. They were incredibly rough on our teeth cleaning. My husband never complains about dental cleaning and he even said they were rough and didn't know what they were doing. We left with bloody and sore teeth and very frustrated.

The office is completely disorganized and the staff are incompetent. My wife and son already left and found a much better dental office, the only reason we're still there is because one child is about to get their braces off. They have so many people running in and out they can't keep track or who is who or what has been done for what patient. They also try to upcharge or add fraudulent charges so make sure you read your explanation of benefits very thoroughly. We are definitely spreading the word to avoid this office at all costs.

Last night I broke a molar that had an old metal filling in it. I was able to schedule online in the middle of the night for an appointment at 10am today. Dr. Matthew Yip was fantastic, as was all the staff I met today. Dr. Yip and his team had me in and out with a good looking crown in just a little over 2 hours. Dr. Yip was friendly, fun, and professional. He explained everything really well, and seemed to care a lot. I'm so glad I chose them! This is definitely my new dentist office. Definitely recommend!

Spent almost $9k total for a surgery/implant, and this place cannot size the implant correctly the first time around. The second follow-up visit they informed me that the doctor did not send in the information to get the implant resized, so we have to reschedule AGAIN, and wait another month to POSSIBLY get the implant. It is absolutely insane to have spent this much money, and be treated like this. Used to highly recommend this place, but as of late, it has been horrible.

I would not recommend this place. My boyfriend had an appointment the day prior. He didn't have his insurance on file, so he called and gave to them SAME DAY. His appointment time was changed from 1230pm to 115pm. They had his insurance verified and they still took him. I come in the next day and they can't find my appt, had to put in another appt, and said they don't accept same day appts! This is discrimination and unfair practicing. We won't be back! I requested my appointment 6 months ago during my last cleaning. I was scheduled at 6pm for my next appointment which is what is asked for so I didn’t miss work… I got a call today indicating that I need to be reschedule because they booked me with the wrong person, and now the next available time for me to be seen is either during my work hours or in 2 months… CHECK WHO THEY SCHEDULE YOU WITH because your time means nothing to them…

I had not been to a dentist office in over 10 years and was nervous to return and a bit embarrassed. Shannon was the best hygienist and guided me and cheered me on throughout both of my procedures. (Root scaling and planing) She never made me feel bad about my situation or nervous. She was so gentle (no pain), and the best cheerleader. I’m now excited to go back and see her regularly and I couldn’t ask for a better experience.

Came in for a exam and cleaning and was told that I had periodontist and that I needed my jaw cut and pushed back along with red laser deep clean which came up too over $5,000. Went to get a second opinion and nothing was wrong but a cavity and was able to get my deep clean with no problems. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone they lie to get money from you or try to. Always get a second review

I can't say enough good things about the entire staff, offices, dentists and experiences I have here. Special thanks to Dr. Yip! The right professionals in the right business. Staff is kind, helpful and knowledgeable, and very considerable to the patient, fast and great at their job! I drive 1 hour and 10 minutes to get dental work done here - never any regrets.

Teri (hygienist) was AWESOME! My first deep cleaning on my left side (by another girl) was horrible. She didn’t clean well at all. However, Teri Rodriguez recleaned my left side & cleaned the right and went above & beyond. Very conscientious about her patient and her quality of work. I really appreciated her attention to detail and she was very sweet.

This is the first time I have felt comfortable with the dentist pretty much ever. They were honest and straightforward with me. They didn't make me feel ashamed or neurotic and overall made me feel safe. I did alot of research before committing to this office and am so pleased that I did. I am looking forward to working with them for all my needs.

I have a paralyzing fear of the dentist but I needed work done. Dr Wendy understood my issue with compassion. We came up with a plan, she informed Shannon and put everything in action. Shannon was absolutely amazing! Best experience I've ever had with a hygienist! There just aren't enough words to express my gratitude! Thank you both so much!

I switched over to Parkville Modern Dentistry earlier this year, and what a great decision! I’ve had a few root canals done by Dr. Yip and I must say, he is the best! I won’t go to anyone else. Pain free every time, quick and easy! All the staff is extremely friendly, helpful, and professional. I highly recommend anyone looking to come here!

Dr Desai is probably the best dentist I have ever visited. He is so nice and explains the procedure thoroughly before performing the procedure. Dental assistant Maddy and Riza were also super nice and helpful. I would go as far as saying Parkville Modern Dentistry and Orthodontics may be the best all in one dental experience in Kansas City.

First time here and Carley was AMAZING! She answered all my questions, was very patient, and made sure I was comfortable with the entire process. Dr. Yipp always puts me at ease when it comes to my oral health. I’ve been seeing him for over 6 years and he’s fixed all of my problems. He’s not just my dentist, he’s my friend and the entire team at Parkville Modern Dentistry works tirelessly to make sure your needs are met and on track for your goals.

Would give 0 stars if I could. Went for a routine cleaning which turned into PMD pushing for around $3000 in work to be done. Walked out and went to a different dentist who informed me non of said work was remotely necessary and some of the previous work they had done was not necessary. GO ANYWHERE ELSE.

Dr. Yip is a great dentist - he transformed my husband’s front teeth and improved his overall dental health. He painlessly did two crowns for me and today, replaced a filling on a front tooth that exceeded my expectations. If you’re looking for a new dental office I recommend Modern Parkville Dentistry.

I had an emergency due to chipping my front tooth and Dr.Yip did an amazing job. My tooth looks like it was never even chipped. I highly recommend and fully trust going to Dr.Yip. The other staff were also very friendly, accommodating and welcoming.

I stopped in on short notice for a quick cleaning and it was handled rather efficiently. I was scheduled quickly, and the staff was very polite, treated me great, and the service was top notch. Dr. Werley was great too!!! I definitely recommend!

Very good experience. Crown was set on molar and Scaling of teeth performed. Dr. Banhart was great, communicated well. The technician made a well fitting crown, and the fitting was perfect. No problems or pain after dental work was completed.

I have been seeing Doctor Werley for a number of years and she is fantastic. The whole staff is always friendly, caring and accommodating. I also really appreciate their progressive use of recent techniques and equipment. I highly recommend!

Dr. Yip and his assistant Maddison are absolutely incredible! Very down to earth, friendly and helped put me at ease after finding out I needed emergency root canal. Dr. Yip is a miracle worker and I’m SOOO grateful for their service!

Dr Yip is the best! I’ve been going since the beginning and the care has only gotten better over the years. I have bad anxiety about going to the dentist, but he always makes me feel very at ease. I 100% recommend!

The staff is all incredibly nice, caring, and talented! I have dental anxiety and they do a great job of putting my mind at ease and making me feel relaxed. They did great work on my crowns and deep cleaning.

Dr. Steel did an amazing job with my braces. My teeth look amazing. He was patient, understanding, and helpful when it came to me being anxious. I really appreciated everything he and his team did for me.

Dr Yipp, The best I, had 3 route canals and 3 crowns and a filling all one day no pain . And his staff are all top notch extremely friendly . If you live up north area this should be you're denist office.

I really like this dental service. The staff are friendly and I can see a dentist, surgeon and orthodontist all at one location. My records are all kept together and Chelsea keeps it all well organized.

Dr Matthew Yip is super friendly, very knowledgeable, and gets everything you need done. Carley at the front desk was very easy to work with also since I got a last minute filling. Great office!

My dentist, Dr Desai, was great. He made me feel at ease and less nervous about the process. Ellen also did great talking to me about my best plan for insurance and got me the best deal!

I recently went in for a 4 hour appt. The staff that work there are very nice. Hannah was with my during appointment and was able to take care of everything I needed.
