"Afternoon Friday - parking was good(weekends are difficult) - hydrate/ it’s a hike! - views are scenic - Rocky but we’ll defined paths -clean -frequently traveled and used for training -didn’t get to see the big (darn) -the peak is gorgeous - I didn’t think was extreme like it was marked (even though steep) - stayed until night fall and the hike down was as good as the hike up"
"Really good hike"

Used a headlamp… when we got to the bottom and looked back up - the mountain trail was peppered with moving headlamps of people returning… way
Really good hike. One of the best in the area. The trail is marked really well. It starts off with a lot of switch backs. It does have a lot of climbing section and some big step ups. The last 1/4 of the trail you really start to climb, it is like a staircase at the end. In the morning the last 1/2 is in the shade and it is nice and cool as you climb. That is a good thing since you are starting to work hard. The top is really cool as you have a few parts you can climb up and get a great view. The parking is very good too.
Beautiful and well-maintained hiking trails, There is plenty of wildlife and cacti to look out for. The trails are mostly unshaded to be sure to bring plenty of water, sunglasses, and a hat. The various trailheads all have flushing toilets, hand washing sinks, and water fountains, as well at covered pergolas where you can rest. There is plenty of signage to keep you from getting lost on the trails. Really great place for hikes close to the city!
The trails are well maintained and the views are spectacular! The hikers and runners we encountered were all friendly and polite. The only negative thing I saw was a few dog poop bags left on the trail. Thinking about it now I would of picked it up. Next time I'm going to bring a plastic bag. Totally awesome we have something like this snack dab in the middle of the city.
Very steep the whole way up, but well worth it. I would recommend to experienced hikers or beginners as long as you don't plan on tackling the whole mountain in one go. Parking is hard to find after 10am, but not impossible. There are public restrooms, hikers are friendly, the view is gorgeous.. Definitely my favorite hiking spot! Closes at 7pm.
Great area to hike. The trail was slightly crowded by 9am. However, it was still very enjoyable, and we didn't feel like anyone was on top of us. It's worth going to the very top. The views are incredible. Bring plenty of water and sunscreen, the sun is on you most of the hike. There's a lot of loose rock, so come prepared.
One of the most challenging hikes. It starts moderately but the last 3/4 part is steep. This trail is full of beautiful desert views. There are no rest areas on the way or on the top. It is worth hiking this trail for the view. While hiking down I got pain in both my knees, I think wearing a knee brace would help.
Great hike but can be pretty sketchy. May be hard to inexperience hikers but a moderately easy hike for those who have great condition. Camelback Mountain still beats Piestwa in views and trail in my opinion. Still a really nice hike with beautiful views and rock formations.
I love this place. I usually do the summit trail once or twice a week. Today I chose a much calmer section of the freedom trail. It stays pretty low and is mostly dirt making it very easy to jog. Sorry I don't have any pictures of the trail I didn't think about it!
Piestewa Peak Park is a great place for hiking any day of the week! Beautiful views, well kept trails, and plenty of things to see along the way. It is highly popular, so you are likely to come across plenty of people, but it is not crowded.
Great mountain hike. It gets steep the higher you go. The best time is to go 3-4 hours before the sunset to catch the best scenic view Piestewa has to offer. And it’s dog friendly to those who consider bringing their dog.
Good spot for a family to spend some time near the airport. It’s about 20 minutes to the Phoenix airport. We wanted to burn off some energy before the flight home. It also is a great hike to the top if you have more time.
This was a fun peek to hike lots of jagged rocks does have a man-made trail so it’s very easy to follow but it is a nice little challenge. Not as good as Camelback but I would say if you cut on time it’s just as good.
This place is awesome with a lot of great trails that people generally keep litter and annoyance free. They could probably quintuple the parking spaces, though I'm sure they'd still all be full on a weekend morning.
Great place for hiking. Plenty of trails to choose from. But be aware if you are bringing doggos along they are not allowed on some of the trails. Be sure to read the signs. Plenty of good views here too.
Busy. Very, very busy... but the trail itself is a good climb. It's like a real stair-climber. I would rate it difficult. The views ate pretty impressive and worth the hike!
Love this mountain park. The summit trail has amazing views at the top. The lower trails are also beautiful to hike.
Great sunset hike. Takes about 45 minutes to the summit. Wear thick sole shoes as there are lots of pointy rocks.
It was a little challenging for my first hike this fall, but it was well worth it.
