We are sorry that you feel you have received poor service from us, However, as we explained to you during our telephone conversation if you had any issue with our vehicle whilst it was on hire to you there are steps that you can follow for help. All of our vehicles are covered with AA breakdown cover and also have a out of hours contact for a member of staff. At no point during the course of your hire was either the AA or member of staff contacted to let us know of any fault. You also mentioned that you returned the vehicle early as you could not continue your journey. We have trackers and monitoring devices fitted to our vehicles - again no fault arose from the vans information. We can also see where the van had travelled to and the exact time it was returned. Which was a day later than you had said you originally returned it. When we contacted you on Tuesday morning to arrange the return of the damage deposit it was only then you mentioned about a 'problem' with the vehicle. We tested the vehicle and have not found any faults. The vehicle in question has since been out on hire and has also had no issues. Unfortunately, We are not in a position to offer any refund for the hire (other than your deposit) as the breakdown was not reported, no faults were found with the vehicle, it was used during the agreed time on hire and the insurance covered whilst on hire to you. We also do not appreciate the manner and abusive language of which you spoke to our member of staff. Our business has been trading for over 40 years and we do our upmost to ensure that we do the very best for our customers and provide a good service. We receive fantastic feedback and have a very loyal and trustworthy relationship with many customers.

I've used these guys many times over the years and they've always been helpful decent people. Vans are not brand new but they are in good working order and are priced fairly. I was surprised to see their rating was only 3.5 so I decided to read the reviews. In short, one of the seemingly unjust negative reviews seems to have got his friends to rate Popular Van Hire negatively aswell. I say this because they're in the same month. )that explains to me why they're not as high as they should be. If you read the reviews from 5 months ago you'll see what I mean. Anyway I rarely write reviews but it really annoys me that people can be dishonest and then try to screw a small company over when they don't get their way. I haven't needed to use them for a while (though I may need them this week) but if you need a van then they're a great company to have local.

Highly recommend these guys! Have used them for MOTs for me and my wives cars for many years now. Always so accommodating with very reasonable costs and great service. They have gone above and beyond on many occasions including my wifes most recent MOT where they dealt with all issues and performed the MOT the same day even though they were already extremely busy and she booked last minute. I have also rented numerous vans from them in the past for very reasonable costs. 5 stars!

What a great company to hire from! The staff are friendly and helpful and the rates are the best I found. The options were really useful as they offer an hourly rate as well as day rates. They have a wide selection of vans to choose from and they are very clean and well looked after. I'd absolutely recommend and will be back when I need another!

First class service all round. I hired a short wheel based transit van at short notice from them over the weekend and the van itself was spotlessly clean and nearly new. The costumer service was first class as well. The cost was very low as well compared to others I looked at . All in all very impressed and I would highly recommend them.

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE COMPANY. THESE PEOPLE ARE CON ARTISTS. I HIRED A LUTON VAN THAT HAD A BROKEN GEAR BOX AND CLUTCH. I ASKED TO MEET IN THE MIDDLE FOR A 50% REFUND AND THEY WOULDN'T BUDGE.... IV DRIVEN VANS FOR OVER A DECADE AND NEVER DRIVEN ONE AS SHODDY AS THEIRS.THEY STOLE MY MONEY. AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS. HORRIBLE PEOPLE.

Danny runs the show at Popular. He is a polite, organised and hardworking guy who does all he can to help when he picks up the phone. For a friendly service and easy drop off/pick up location, give these guys a call. Anyone would be lucky to have Danny in their organisation and I hope he is treated well!!

Danny at Popular Van Hire/Chesham’s is a class act. Really cares about his customers and will do absolutely everything he can to keep you happy. Always on hand to fix any issues I have ever had, and always happy to help. Would always recommend them for hire or vehicle servicing/MOT’s.

do not use this company if you want any chance of getting your deposit back. They will use defects on the vehicle that they have purposefully missed to take all of your deposit. A small dink of 3mm cost me £350. Proper con artists these lot...use them at your peril

Really good service, the vehicle was excellent and even though I used a bit of fuel they waived any potential charge which was really good of them. I'll definitely use them again and would recommend them to others having looked at many options locally

Van I picked up on Friday was awful, covered in scratches which were recorded but when I returned the van they tried to make out I had done them, very disappointed. Don't bother with this company

Everything was simple, the paperwork was produced to our understanding, we were dealt with efficiently and courteously, everything went smoothly. I would definitely recommend.
